Twenty Four

Jamie

*Vroom-Vroom*

"What is wrong with your car, Jesper? I should have gotten my car." I complained.

"It's not my fault if the car suddenly stops working!"

"Ofcourse it is! You shouldn't have brought this car!"

"Why? It's my car!"

"So?" I folded my arms and stood there with my face, facing towards the sky.

"Is this a time to argue?" Yeha added.

"There has to be a garage over here." Yeha suggested.

"Let's go and find!" I exclaimed.

"Yes." I replied.

"This is wierd but, I am excited!" I whispered.

"Jesper? Is this a joke to you?" I asked.

"No, why?"

"Nothing,"

Yeha rolled her eyes, whereas I am supposed to do that action or probably I was wrong.

Yeha

At this point, I was happy that Jesper was here, I had never seen him being so mature. But, today he is was different. He seemed to understand me and my feelings. I was glad to have a friend like him. This also gave me a sense of relief because, I had a feeling that I will meet my parents soon.

After what felt like an eternity, we finally arrived at the city of 'Songdo-dong'. The air was thick with tension as I stepped out of the vehicle. My heart raced, my mind filled with a mix of nerves and curiosity. I struggled to find the right words to describe the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside me. All I knew was that I had to remain composed, unyielding in the face of whatever awaited us. The gravity of the situation was palpable, and I couldn't shake the feeling that danger lurked in every shadow.

As I reached for my phone, my hands trembled slightly. I needed to check the time, to ground myself in the present moment. The screen flickered to life, revealing the digits: 3:30 pm. A shiver ran down my spine as memories flooded back. It was at this very hour when I had returned home, only to be greeted by an abyss of darkness, devoid of my parents' presence. The fear that gripped me in that moment was indescribable, a haunting uncertainty that left me utterly alone and clueless about my own fate. I had anxiously awaited their return, desperate for answers, but they never came.

"Yeha, Yeha?"

"Huh?" I flinched.

"What were you thinking about?" Jamie asked.

"I and Jesper are calling you from a long time." She continued.

"You mean- two minutes," Jesper corrected.

"Yeah, whatever."

"So, Yeha, so we should now find the garage!"

"Sure."

As we navigated the dark, eerie streets of the city, our mission clear in our minds, we searched for the building. The thought of wasting time looking for a garage when we could simply walk and locate the building spurred us on. Along the way, we interrogated various individuals about my parent's company, hoping for a glimmer of information. We refused to give up, knowing it was too early to give up. All seemed well until we unexpectedly collided with Nam-Seon Ho. No introduction was necessary. His presence caught me off guard, leaving me to wonder why he was there.

"Nam Seon Ho? What are you doing here?" I asked curiously.

"안녕하세요 Yeha! I came here to visit my aunt." He replied. (Hello)

"Aunt?" I asked and looked at Jamie who raised one of her eyebrows.

"Yes, there is a hospital nearby and she is admitted there. She just has a little fever."

"Oh!" I replied.

"We can't waste time, we have to go." Jesper added with a annoyed tone.

I really don't understand this chemistry of Seon Ho and Jesper.

"Wait." Seon Ho held my hand and I looked up where, my eyes met his.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"She's going with me." Jesper answered and I was just standing there looking at both of them, glaring eachother.

"I'll repeat my question,Where are you going?"

"I am going to find my dad's company." I replied.

"You got your answer? Now, leave." Jesper glared at Seon Ho.

I took few steps further but, stopped when I heard him saying-

"Maybe, I can help!"

"Seon Ho? How can you help?" I asked curiously, thinking that, he can be that ray of hope.

"Not going to lie, I am your parents second favourite child." He replied.

"Seon Ho, I don't have time for these unwanted talks,"

"Once, your dad and my dad were talking and I heard it so, I know where your company is," Seon Ho continued.

"So, you know where my parents company is located?" I asked.

"Yeah!"

"Where is it?"

"I will only tell you, if you allow me to help you thoughout your journey or whatever you term this so, can I join you?" Seon Ho asked.

I glanced at Jesper, his expression clearly indicating his reluctance to join us. Yet, I knew he was our only hope in locating my missing parents. With determination, I managed to sway his opinion, urging everyone to set aside their animosity and concentrate on the urgent task at hand.

Time slipped away, leaving me in a state of uncertainty. The fate of my parents remained a mystery, their whereabouts unknown. I questioned whether I would ever lay eyes on them again, but one thing was certain - I couldn't surrender, I couldn't let hope slip through my fingers. The events that unfolded, so unexpectedly, left me bewildered. How could my parents vanish without a trace, without a single clue? Confusion consumed me, and the constant bickering between Jesper and Seon Ho only added to my mounting headaches. No one else's teenage years could compare to the tension that gripped my every moment.

Seon Ho led the way, his steps confident and purposeful. We followed closely behind as he made a series of sharp turns, each one more mysterious than the last. Suddenly, we arrived at our destination - the imposing "VERDURA" building loomed before us, its name emblazoned in bold letters. It was hard to believe that the building was so close to where we had started our journey with Seon Ho. As we approached the entrance, the realization hit me like a ton of bricks - we needed some form of identification to gain access. None of us had it, and the tension in the air was palpable.

"How are we supposed to enter the building?" I asked while folding my hands.

"Do you think anyone here knows?" Jamie wailed.

"Let me think," Jesper and Seon spoke at the same time.

"The fact that you both spoke at the same time." Jamie mentioned.

"Shut up and let us focus." Seon replied.

Seon Ho said 'us' so, he also addressed Jesper? I seriously don't understand them.

Ignoring all distractions, a multitude of inquiries plagued our thoughts. What lies ahead? How shall we infiltrate the fortress? And once inside, what actions shall we undertake, for we have never ventured into its depths and I remained oblivious to its secrets? Furthermore, what awaits us in the aftermath? Above all, do my parents still draw breath? Will fate ever grant me the chance to lay eyes upon them once more?
