Author's P.O.V. 
"Guys. I want you to tell you something." Aleena said softly as they all sat on the dining table. 

"What is it?" Sonic asked calmly, he sat straight and looked at his mother knowing she wanted them to be polite and with manners at the castle. He also didn't feel like getting yelled at or fighting with the guards either.

"I invited an agent for dinner. He saved my life twice now, and I wanted you to meet him, since he's close to your age." The Queen looked at her kids.

"Really?" Sonia smiled. "I can't wait to meet him." 

"Is he coming now?" Sonic asked with a small smile. "What's his name?" 

"I can't say yet, but I'm sure you'll get along. He's been through a lot like you, so please think before you speak." 

"Sure, Ma." Sonic nodded in agreement.

"Been through a lot? Like what?" Manic raised a brow as he ate. 

Sonic looked at Aleena. He was curious on who he was.

"I can't say, I'm not sure if he wants you to know, but maybe he'll tell you." Aleena shook her head. "He'll be here in a few hours." 

Sonic started eating and nodded. After a bit he finished and stood up. "Well, please let me know when he is here." Chuck had told him he needed to train so he didn't eat much. "I'll be training, call me when he is here." He walked out. 

The Queen nodded and stood up when she finished then helped Sonia to clean the table after everyone else left.

"Sonic!" Manic shouted and walked to the gym. "You here?" 

Sonic had just gotten out of the shower from the gym since he had been sweating a lot, he decided to take a shower. He was buttoning up his suit and walked to where his brother was at. "Yes?"

"Ma told us that the guy she told us is coming." The green hedgehog rested back on the wall. "I'm curious, what did she mean earlier. I'm gonna ask him." 

"Let's go then." He chuckled and finished fixing his suit. He walked to the dining room followed by their guards. 

"Sonia, Sonic, Manic. This is the agent that saved my life." Aleena smiled softly at her kids as the said agent stood beside her. "Shadow the Hedgehog."  

Shadow had his arms crossed and had a very serious expression. 

Sonic looked at Shadow shocked for a bit but then cleared his throat. "Shadow saved your life?" He looked at his mother. 

"That's correct." The Queen nodded. "Do you know him?" 

"We went to the same school..." Sonia said softly as she waved at the ebony hedgehog. 

"Yes, we were in the same school." He basically repeated what his sister said and looked at Shadow. "I appreciate what you did to save our mother, thank you." He sincerely thanked him, trying not to sound mad or anything with him at the castle.

Shadow nodded as he stayed quiet. 

"That's great. So you get along well?" Aleena smiled, thinking they were friends. 

"You can say that." Manic hummed. 

Sonic hummed not saying anything else. He didn't want to start another fight, especially in the castle. 

The Mother nodded and looked at Sonic. "Why don't you take agent Shadow and show him around? I'll tell the chef to prepare the food." 

Sonic mentally groaned at what his mother said but knew not to disagree with her. He nodded slowly and looked at Shadow. "Follow me, Agent." He didn't want to call him by his name. 

Shadow nodded and followed the azure hedgehog, not looking the triplets in the eyes. 

Manic looked at his brother and mouthed at him. 'I'm sorry.' 

Sonic raised his hand as a sign that it was okay and walked out. He realized the guards stayed behind making it more tense between the two hedgehogs as they walked. 

"I'm sorry." Shadow spoke up when they were far away from the others. 

"You're sorry?" Sonic raised a brow but didn't look at him. "About what exactly, Agent?" He refused to say his name. 

"You know." The agent rolled his eyes at how he called him. "I wouldn't have come if I knew you came back." 

Sonic chuckled and rolled his eyes. He knew they couldn't go back until dinner was served so he was stuck with Shadow. "My mother is happy you came, and if you're apologizing because you think you'll get in trouble then don't. I haven't told anyone and I rather not."

"I know that if I were to get in trouble, I would." Shadow fixed his sleeves from the suit. "I was told to have good terms with Queen Aleena and her kids. I guess it's too late now." 

"Hm, while you're in the castle, I can't fight or I'll be put into more training. You think living here is easy? I don't know what you've gone through but the reason our mother keeps our identities a secret is because people are trying to kill us." He looked at Shadow. "While you're here, I can't yell or even be mad at you but outside of this castle, I hate you. I hate you for what you tried to do with my sister, I hate you for what you made me and for the stuff you've called me. I just wanted to make that clear."

"I understand that." The agent nodded as he talked with a serious and cold voice. "And don't bring up my past again. You shouldn't talk about something you don't know." 

"My apologies, my mother just told us you've been through stuff. If you don't mind me asking, what happened?"  

"I do mind." Shadow looked away. "My past is something I don't talk about." 

"Alright, I'm not forcing you to say anything, Shadow." He finally talked calmly to him. 

Shadow scoffed at that and closed his eyes for a bit to calm down. He was so upset that he was in the urge of tears. 

Sonic glanced at him. "Are you okay?" 

The ebony hedgehog nodded as he stayed quiet and looked in front of him, he looked hurt. 

Sonic slightly lowered his ears at this. "Shadow, what's wrong...?" He asked clearly concerned. 

The agent sighed and covered his eyes with one hand. "I need to leave..." He mumbled. He started panicking since he never felt so upset before. 

"Hey, no. Wait." He rested his hand on his arm without thinking. "You can go to my room to calm down. Please don't leave. My mom is really happy that you're here." He sighed. "You can try and relax in my room, come." 

Shadow's ears perked up when the Prince did that and pulled his hand away. 

"Sorry. I just... Wanted to make sure you were okay..." He shook his head. He was worried about him even though he shouldn't. 

"I'm fine...!" The ebony hedgehog wiped his tear. "Fuck..." He whispered. 

"Sure you are... Just come to my room, no one will see you and I won't question you anything." He said softly, for some reason he felt as if he needed to help him, even if he didn't deserve his help. 

Shadow looked at Sonic and crossed his arms then bit his tongue to stop. 

"Fine. You don't have to, I was just..." He shook his head and rubbed his face. "Forget it. I was just trying to help you." 

"I'm supposed to help you. Not the other way around." Shadow said sternly and crossed his arms. 

"Just because you're an agent doesn't mean you can't receive help, Shadow. You're a mobian just like us, you're allowed to break down whenever you need to. You're not alone and you're not forced to hide what you feel. Whatever happened to you before, it's okay to cry about it and let it out." He looked at him then looked away remembering their last fight. "This family, my family, we don't want to see others hurt, no matter what they've done. We care about everyone else, and we put everyone else before us, that includes you, Shadow." He looked at the time and cleared his throat. "We should head back, I don't need any more training if we get to dinner late. I'm sure you don't want to disappoint Aleena by leaving so just bare with us for today and stay for dinner." Sonic turned around to walk back to the dining room. 

The ebony hedgehog stayed in place, quiet. He was in a very difficult position, knowing that I what he did ruined everything.

Sonic glanced back at Shadow. "Are you coming?" He asked calmly. 

Shadow looked at the Prince and nodded. "Do you have a gym in this building?" He tried to change the subject. "You said to train a lot." 

"Yes, it is just down the hall. When we do something wrong or whenever I try to leave without the guards, I have to go for about 3 hours." He kept walking. 

"Sounds annoying." The ebony hedgehog mumbled. 

"It is." He quietly chuckled and stopped in front of the doors. "Thank you for not leaving." Was all he said then opened the doors. 

The agent nodded and walked in after Sonic. 

Sonic walked to his siblings and took a seat next to Manic.

"Why did you go back to your mother? I moved to that school for you." Fleetway asked, mad and pissed off since he couldn't 'protect' his boyfriend. 

"I was tired of that school, I'm sorry." He sighed and walked beside his boyfriend to a restaurant. 

"You could've just told me who was messing with you and I'd make them stop." The golden hedgehog rolled his eyes. 

"Fleetway, remember our agreement." He looked at him and crossed his arms. 

"Fuck your agreement, if someone is making you move out, then I believe I have all rights to teach him a lesson." Fleetway growled. 

"Fleetway." Sonic growled lowly. "You know I don't like that." He rolled his eyes. 

"You'll learn how to like it." The taller hedgehog looked in front of him, he noticed a certain ebony hedgehog with red stripes a few feet away and looked at his boyfriend to see his reaction when he sees him too. 

Sonic glanced at Shadow and his ears lowered just slightly. "I don't. I told you that one fight and it's over. And I mean it." He looked back at his boyfriend. 

"It's that guy, isn't it?" Fleetway glared at Shadow. "What did he do to you?" He tightened his fist. 

Sonic's ears perked up at this. "What? No, he didn't do anything." He grabbed his boyfriend's hand and sighed. "Let's sit down and have something to eat already." 

"No. He did something to you." Fleetway pulled his hand away roughly. "What was it?!" He raised his voice at Sonic, something he always did." 

Sonic dropped his ears and shook his head. He hissed loudly when Fleetway pulled his hand roughly since it hurt him. "Nothing." 

"You're such an idiot." The golden hedgehog turned around and dashed to Shadow, knowing he hurt his 'lover'.

Thankfully for Shadow, he had fast reflexed from the training he had, so he dodged Fleetway and raised a brow. "What the hell...?" He whispered to himself. 

"Fleetway!" Sonic dashed to Shadow and him. "Remember what we talked about." He glared at his boyfriend. 

"Stop bringing that up every time!" The golden hedgehog groaned. "I thought you said you trusted me!"

The ebony hedgehog was annoyed to see those two together, but he was even more confused to why he got attacked. 

This made Sonic growled and glared at his boyfriend. "I can't do this anymore! You keep hurting me physically and mentally! You keep trying to fight everyone and I can't be with someone like that!" He made his hands as fist. "It's over." He said it coldly. "And I told you what would happen if you look for me again so I hope you make the right decision." His eyes were watery. 

"I know you don't mean it." Fleetway chuckled. "You're crying, why would you do this to yourself and break up with me? Just let me beat up this loser and everything will be fine." 

Shadow was getting pissed off at the golden hedgehog and the way he was talking. He tightened his fists lightly as he tried to keep his cool, knowing this wasn't the right time to speak up. 

"No, Fleetway. I mean it. It's over." He crossed his arms. 

Fleetway growled loudly and raised his fist, ready to punch the Prince, when Shadow stopped him and kicked him away. "That's enough." He said calmly. 

Sonic's ears perked up and gasped quietly. He pinned his ears down and looked at them shocked. "Stop." He raised his voice. He hated fighting, or seeing others fight. He looked down at Fleetway. "If I see you again, if you call me or text me, you know what will happen." He tried to sound calm but he was hurt. He looked at Shadow, he had his ears pinned down and tears rolling down his muzzle. "Thanks for the help but... it's better if you leave, knowing Fleetway he will try to hurt you back and I don't like that."

Shadow slowly nodded, his mind raising. "Do you want me to take you to your place?" He noticed Fleetway standing up and charging towards him and sighed then chaos controlled with Sonic outside the castle. "Nevermind." 

Sonic gasped at this and looked around then back at Shadow. "Thank you... for not fighting with him..." His voice broke. "But you didn't have to help me." He cleaned his tears and sighed. 

"You're welcome." Shadow nodded and glanced at the Prince then lowered his ears slightly. "I... I want to..." He sighed and shook his head. "Call me if you need help." He teleported away. 

Sonic looked at where Shadow had been and stayed quiet. He went to a tree and sat underneath it, not going inside the castle yet. He didn't want his family to see him cry. He made himself into a ball and broke down crying.
