One year later, Neji and Sakura are chunin now. Kyla and Neji are 17, Sakura is 15. 

Kyla pov:

I stood with Sakura in the hokages room, we were being briefed on our newest mission, we were to infiltrate the sound village and collect any information on Orochimaru, I know this mission is especially personal to the pink haired kunoichi with me as Sasuke was somebody she loved like he was the world, and Orochimaru took him, but it just shows how far she has come to be able to hear this is her mission without her fist turning into a clamp.

I nodded my head before taking my fake identification off Lady Tsunade and I passed Sakura her own I was: Mira Azile, a traveller from the land of waves, age 18. Sakura was: Rin Senko, also a traveller from the land of waves, age 16, our ages had been altered by a year, but we will still need to make up a back story before we arrive, I plan on doing that on the way. 

"Sakura, meet me at the gate in an hour, pack the necessary items, careful on your weapon count in case they search us as we walk through the gates" I explained before adding "don't wear your ninja gear, wear something casual, but flexible something you can fight in but doesn't make you look like a ninja" I then left the room knowing Sakura understands what I ask of her.

 I headed over to the Uchiha compound to smile as I walk through the gates, any traces of the horrors that took place here no longer exist, buildings are almost in pristine condition, Hyuga's are scattered all over the grounds checking for faults in the build which is then being repaired by the countless amount of builders on site, the police building is now going to be the school, its most certainly big enough, but that building is the ninja academy, where as my old home is going to be the civilian school, because its the second biggest building, this will give them enough space to learn, and its not like there's a main branch or side branch anymore so why do I need a big house if I'm alone? I can oversee the affairs here without a large home, and there's a separate building for the council anyways.

I entered my apartment and changed out of the ninja gear I had previously changed into expecting a fighting mission, I changed into black leggings, a red tank to with a leather jacket and combat boots before pulling my hair out of its ponytail and brushing it so it hangs elegantly around my figure, reaching just below my waist, I looked at myself in the mirror for a moment before deciding I'd leave my forehead protector on the table in my house, it's an under cover mission, I can't be seen with a villages symbol on my person, especially the leafs after the sounds attack, I presume that's still a sore subject for them but time will tell. I packed simple things into my bag, I didn't need much for this mission, but I will be needing something to record all of the information, so doing this the old fashion way, I packed a note pad and a series of pens, knowing if I only take one it will run out or play up.

Sakura met me at the gate just like we previously had arranged she wore simple clothes, a pair of black shorts and a long sleeved red shirt, she looked like a normal citizen, and I hoped I looked some what similar, we set out with large bags, as travellers carry their belongings around with them, so we had our heavy bags on our backs as we walked the long journey to the Land of Sound, birds tweeting to fill the silence on our journey I gazed at the sky and sighed, three pm, and we've only just left the leaf, we wont be there for a long time.

Hours had passed before darkness had infested the skies, forcing Sakura and I to set up camp, we weren't acting as ninjas, but travellers, so there was no issue with us lighting a fire for warmth on this cold dark night, we both sat around the dancing flames roasting some marshmallows over the heat. "I've never done this before" Sakura said as she poked her half melted sugary treat before taking a bite of the gooey goodness. "In the land of snow, my sensei and I used to do this on occasion, I love doing it" I said smiling as I looked back on those memories.

"If you don't mind my asking, Sasuke-kun, what was he like when you were a kid" She asked as she nibbled on the marshmallow.

I thought for a moment back to those times before saying "He was adorable, he used to follow our alder brother, Itachi, around like he was some sort of God, to him Itachi was the world, nothing you could say would change that, and Sasuke wanted to be just like him. I remember once, Itachi had a mission, but he had promised to do kunai training with Sasuke, and being the little drama queen he was, he complained he was hated by Itachi, but Itachi couldn't help it, duty was calling. My mom offered to help, she was a ninja before she retired when getting pregnant, but Sasuke whined that Itachi had promised him, so I helped him, I taught him a trick Itachi had taught me as a kid, he spent the session showing off and wanting his big brother, I guess you could say he was needy, but it was cute. Father was a little harsh on Sasuke as a kid, he always wanted the attention Itachi and I had, but Fathers favourite was always Sasuke, well that's what mom said, he just had trouble showing it" I explained with a smile on my face.

"In a way you sound like the perfect family, Sasuke wants to kill Itachi, is that what you want?" She asked before her eyes widened when she realised what she was asking "I'm sorry if I overstepped its just-" she started in a panicked tone before I cut her off with "It's fine to ask, but no, I don't want to kill Itachi, nor do I want Sasuke to, he's my big brother, I will always love him" I explained my hand going to the locket around my neck. "Anyways lets get some sleep, we have quite the ways to go to the Sound" I said before she asks about that night, and we both slid into sleeping bags and slept under the glistening stars, but before I slept I looked up at the moon and wished for one thing, that my brothers are safe.

By the time the sun had fully risen Sakura and I had packed all our things up and had eaten breakfast, we were back on the road when an old lady and a young boy stopped next to us in a cart, they looked like merchants, that or travellers.

"I'm sorry to bother you young kids, but we're looking for the village hidden in the sound, can you give us directions?" asked the old lady who was wearing an old, floral dress that went up to her knees. Her hair, which was like a web of silver yarn, encased her head. Her face was wrinkled, but the lines on her face, made her look sweet. I moved closer, and I could feel the faint smell of lavender perfume enthralling me. Although we were in the woods this old lady made me feel at home. The way she sat, her back bent, and her eyes searching for something, with her eyebrows knitted, she reminded me of my own grandmother.

"Oh, we're heading there ourselves, it's about a days journey from here on foot, but if you follow this road for around an hour you will come to a cross roads where you turn right, then later turn left, then from there, there should be signs at the roads" I explained smiling at the lady and who I presume to be her grandson. "Why don't you guys tag along with us, it will be much quicker on wheels than foot" she said and I exchanged a look with Sakura before we nodded and climbed aboard the cart where the kid intensely stared at me before moving over to us while his grandma controlled the horse that pulled the cart.

"You look familiar" he said looking at my face closely which was making me feel rather uncomfortable. "Shoyo, leave the poor girl alone" the old lady said without looking at us.

The kid with messy brown hair and slightly torn clothing pulled a tattered muddy book out of his pocket and Sakura raised one of her light pink eyebrows at this action when I realised, it was a bingo book. "See you look like her! They call her inferno, because she uses fire! She's an Uchiha" he explained and Sakura looked really worried. "An Uchiha? Hows that possible they all died but that boy didn't they?" I asked in attempt to hide my identity. "No his sister survived too!" he said before pointing at the book and saying "You look a lot like her! Are you an Uchiha miss?" he asked excitedly and I shook my head no before saying "I'm not a ninja never mind an Uchiha, see I'm Mika Azile just an ordinary traveller" I said with a sad smile as I passed him my Identification, that was his evidence that I was who I said I am. He huffed in annoyance and sat down. "Where did you get that book" I asked curiously, there are two types of bingo books, the ones the hidden villages get, with rogue ninja in and the ones the rouges have with the strongest village ninja in, and he has the latter. "I found it on the ground, but its dirty because it rained" he muttered as he scratched at the dirt. "Its a good book to have as a traveller, you know who to avoid" I said looking to the skies, I had hoped he knew the secret place they're sold, but that's expecting to much, he is like a seven year old after all. 

"No of course not, the people in these books are the hero's, the ones that protect the world against the bad people" He voiced strongly making Sakura smile brightly and I ruffled the kids hair and we travelled the rest of the way quietly. 

When we finally arrived we were stopped by the guards at the gate, which was no surprise, but after they checked our identification, and saw we were no harm, the easily let us into the village. First thing on Sakura's and my own agenda was to find a hotel, we're here for three days so may as well find a building to stay in as oppose to camping. It wasn't long before we stumbled upon on large murky white building, it was a hotel I payed the man at the counter and he gave us a single room that had a bunk bed in, it had a bathroom attached at a window in the main room that over looked the village, I had to say it was pretty beautiful for something made by that snake.

For our first night here we decided to go to the pub, because its a place of gossip.

We sat at a table in the pub, my identification allowed me to order alcohol, while Sakura was stuck with lemonade, although, I wasn't planning on getting drunk, I just needed the bottles to make people here believe I'm drunk, so Sakura and I sat by a plant, that was getting drunk off shots and beers that the people around us assume I drank while Sakura had her cans of pop, like a good kid. 

"Hey baby" A overly drunk guy said flirtatiously as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders, I almost shuddered at his touch, but I had restraint, pretend its Neji, just pretend its Neji touching you. "Hello" I said with a wink making Sakura pull a funny face at us. "How are you fine women doing" he asked smiling at us making me gag a little as we were exposed to his black rotting teeth.

"How did you get your scars" I interrupted flirtatiously as I ran a finger over a nasty big scar that cut across his cheek. "Happened when I fought some leaf ninja a while back, I won but not before I took a katana to the face" he stated proudly and I smiled sweetly at him "You're a ninja? You must be really strong to survive that" I said in a fake amazed tone. "I am one of the strongest here, I killed many leaf ninja in the invasion a year ago" he stated proudly as I saw Sakura flinch out the corner of my eye, that's still a sore topic for a lot of the leaf.

"Oh my, you must have really have impressed Lord Orochimaru then" I mused as I took a sip of my beer, trying my best not to gag on the strong taste, I've never drank alcohol before.  His face turned from a smile to a bit of a frown "He's never in the village, always in some secret base, we just get his orders and obey, its been like that since he took some kid under his wing" he explained while taking a shot, I noticed the frown on Sakura's face and I smiled softly at her and she calmed down a little bit.

"That's a shame! I was really hoping to talk to him" I said with a sad sigh and I gripped the locket around my neck. "What about" He asked as he ran his fingers through my hair. I opened my locket to show the two pictures, one of my parents and one of my brothers. "My family... they were all killed in a raid by the leaf, I was looking for his assistance" I said with my eyes welling up with tears, all being apart of my act.  

"I know a guy, he meets with Lord Orochimaru's right hand man every Tuesday to exchange a resource, I don't know what it is, but I'll introduce you in the morning so you can tag along, I hope you find what you need with him"

And that was a plan we could use to our advantage, when we arrived back at the hotel, I wrote a letter to Lady Tsunade explaining the situation and that we plan to go forth and find the base and Orochimaru.
