Lucy's P.O.V
It's almost been a year since Natsu left. And since the Guild disbanded. On that day my whole world turned upside down, Fairy tail was gone and so was Natsu.
As each member went there separate ways, Levy had suggested she stay with me as I was alone and pregnant. I had foolishly refused the offer, telling her to live out her own life without me as a burden. Nowadays I get occasional letters from my best friend, who now works for the magic council. As for me, I'm living in the capital of Fiore, Crocus. With my three month old son Luke.
During the pregnancy I worked as a reporter for Crocus daily, when I gave birth I decided to take some time off since I'm now a single mother. Jason was understanding.
I had just awoken from a long night filled with Luke's screams, it was seven am now and he was snoring peacefully. I look to my left and see my wall covered with news articles and photos of my old friends. I had been tracking them down and keeping tabs on them, unfortunately I have nothing on Natsu.
After I got dressed in a tank top and miniskirt, my phone lacrima began to rang. I went over to my bedside table to answer, careful not to disturb the baby.
It was Jason on the other end. "Lucy! Todays the finale of the Graaaand Magic Games! I was thinking you could come help me by stopping by?" He said enthusiastically.
I quietly sighed. "I'm sorry but I can't, not with Luke. I'll make up for it later, okay?" I was upset I had missed the whole tournament, of course my child was more important, I didn't want him exposed to danger like that. Especially because of his last years GMG turned out.
"That's okay, Lucy! I totally get it! Just make sure to take care of yourself and the baby!" I smile, glad to know I have a nice boss. This job wasn't as bad if not almost better than by job as a mage.
"Thank you." With that I hang up and begin my day. Luke still hasn't awoken yet so I walk in my living room to turn on the TV. I might as well watch the event on screen, if I can't in person.
The matches were boring by far, Sabertooth and Fairy tail were both not participating this year which made the games less exciting, these wizards and mages were nothing compared to the previous year.
As the games wrapped up the crowds cheered and confetti was thrown across the arena. The spectators were amazed as the winner was announced.
"The winner is Skull Milione! The odds were 100 to 1 against them! What a win!"
'Clearly nothing compared to odds of Fairytail winning last year...'
"Skull Milione is Fiore's number one Guild!" I sigh. To think Sabertooth would jump at the chance to regain their title from Fairy tail once it was disbanded.
'How are these mages the best that Fiore can offer?' I think disappointed.
The crowd then goes silent and confused as a unknown figure begins to enter the dusty arena. That was surely something unexpected, to think there would nothing to report about...
Even the announcers were confused as the hooded figure stepped in. "What in the world is it?!" One of them questions. "It seems a suspicious person has made their way to the arena!"
'Suspicious? I'm glad I had skipped out on going to the games I'm person...'
The invader walked up to Skull Milione. After that immense magic power began radiating from the cloaked figure, although I wasn't there in person I could see it visually radiating off of them. At this point my eyes were glued to the television.
"Are you guys Fiore's number one guild?" The voice from underneath the black cloak asks, I'm surprised I could hear it from the tv.
"Who the hell are you?" One of the Guild members of Skyll Milione asks.
"I'm...the challenger!" The figure exclaims. And that's when it clicks in my mind.
'Wait...that voice...'
Fire ignited from his palm as he aimed it towards the group, the flames consuming them. There was no doubt in my mind .
"He attacked!" The announcer yelled. That was definitely no good...why aren't people evacuating?
Before I could catch more of what was happening Luke began crying, he was finally up and probably hungry. I stood up, turning off the tv and walked towards his crib.
I brought out a milk bottle and fed the crying baby. I could tell even as early as now he had gotten my blonde hair, as whisps of gold were evident on his almost completely bald head, yet it was too early to tell his eye colour yet. Luke suddenly smiled, content with his feeding. Although he was an accident, I wouldn't trade him for the world.

The next day I decided to stop by at work to make up for my frequent absences, especially because I missed out on reporting at the GMG. Luckily I could find a babysitter for Luke on short notice.
After finishing endless hours of paperwork I had missed for the past few weeks, and trying to come up with a new article idea I left the room to use the washroom.
As I walked back in my small office I noticed Jason waiting for me, looking stoked as ever with a magazine in his hand. Before I can greet him he shoves the magazine, forcing the cover in my face.
"Yesterday at the Grand Magic Fairy tail made a comeback!" He exclaimed excitedly, that line made my heart nearly drop. My boss would obviously know I'd be interested in this stuff considering I was a former member.
I take a step back to get a good look at what Jason was showing me. "Fairy tail's fire dragon slayer makes an appearance at the games, wiping the winners to the floor and quite literally setting the arena on fire." I read aloud. I suddenly gasp, the picture below the header was Natsu Dragneel, he had looked the same yet he had more determination in his eyes as well as longer scruffier hair.
'I can't believe he did that...' I think to myself. 'He was in Crocus yesterday...' Luke instantly pops in my head. Natsu still doesn't know about him, I'm not even for sure if I can forgive Natsu for leaving.
"Uh Lucy?" I'm suddenly snapped out of my thoughts to be reminded I was still taking with Jason.
"O-oh sorry. Just spaced out there..." I lift my arm to check the time. The wrist watch on my arm read "8:05"
'Crap! I must've been here longer than I thought! It's almost Luke's bed time!' I felt bad for having my babysitter, who also happens to be my friend, Hana stay in so late for him.
"I'm sorry." I say to my boss, bowing profusely. "It's getting late I should go—"
"No worries, Lucy!" Jason says. "I'll cover for the rest of your hours." I thank him greatly as I leave. Since Luke was born he's given be some leeway to relax once in awhile, he knows I'm a single mother and so do my co-workers. They're just unaware of who the father is, subject I don't bring up.

At last I make it to my small apartment's lobby. I take off my high heels as I enter the hallway, as they were finally getting to me and the pain of wearing them nearly all day left my feet sore. I quickly unlocked the apartment door and saw Luke in the living room with Hana, he was asleep in her arms.
"You're back early." She jokes making me feel worse. Hana is someone I met when I first decided to move to Crocus, she was kind enough to get me the job I have at Crocus inc and even kinder to offer to take care of my baby whenever I'm gone.
"Thank you so much for doing this! You're getting payed extra, I swear!" I tell her, lifting Luke and bringing him back to his crib, luckily he's a heavy sleeper.
"No worries, Lu! Mom life and work life can be hard." She comments, sweeping a piece of her ashy brown hair behind her ear. I couldn't agree with that statement more, sometimes I wished Natsu was here with me to help, although I knew that was silly.
"I couldn't be able to balance my life without you." She gives her friend a hug. When Hana came into my life, her also being a reporter, she had insisted on being a baby sitter for Luke. Even though I previously turned down Mira and Levy's offer I trusted Hana due to her not having ties to Fairy tail.
I let her go, thanking her again for good measure and promising I won't call her up for at least another few days. Later that night I finally head to bed. I decide not to add Natsu's appearance in the Grand Magic Games to my wall along with the others whereabouts, I want to forget. As I'm about to get comfortable in my fluffy pink sheets and snore away until Luke wakes me up my phone lacrima beeps. I check who messaged me, of course it was Jason. I squint my eyes, adjusting to the screens bright light.
