*this story takes place after the tartaros arc, but before Natsu leaves for his 1 year training*

Lucy's P.O.V

                 It was an extraordinarily rowdy day in the Guild this particular afternoon. We were all in high spirits, celebrating another return of Fairytail's S-class mage Gildarts. I noticed every time the wizard returns from a long mission the atmosphere in Fairytail shifts to carefree.

And where there was carefree spirit, there was bound to be lots of drinking involved. And it seemed our card mage Cana was the most indulged in some booze at the time of her fathers reappearance. But I must admit she wasn't the only one.

Everyone was gathered around the bar at this point, Mirajane being a lovely bartender for the day. Natsu sat next to me with a shot in his hand, of course I could only stomach a simple milkshake.

"Come on Luce," Natsu pouts. "You've got to have one drink. It's a celebration!"

"I'm fine with my milkshake." I retort. To be honest I was a lightweight, and not much of a drinker. My body probably couldn't handle more than one glass.

"Lushee, your no fun." Happy then mocks, which I find ironic considering the blue cat rather stick with his milk, although I would hate to be such a downer in a Guild filled with enlightenment.

"I-I can be fun.!" I defend

"Then just order one small drink!" Natsu insists, smiling at me. Maybe it was his smile or his persuasiveness that had gotten me to follow his order.

I pushed my shake to the side a bit and leaned on the counter. "Uh, Mira? Do you mind if I can have one glass of—" I turn to Natsu unsure of what sounded best.

"Vodka!" He finishes. Mirajane nodding and started whipping me up something small. I fall back in my seat with a thump.

'Wow, vodka? That seemed a little harsh. I hope my body can tolerate a little sip.'

"Here you go!" She places the small glass of vodka in front of me. Natsu grins as he anticipates me to start drinking and have some tipsy fun alongside the rest of the Guild.

I can't help but stare at the liquid, it almost looked precisely like harmless water.

"Here goes nothing..." I say as I take a large sip. The substance burns my throat instantly, almost taking me aback.

'What could go wrong tonight?'

My eyes snap open in an instant. My body almost moves instinctively, my body rising harshly and I realize I'm wrapped in a mountain of blankets and covers.

I look down and realize I'm stark naked, the only thing covering my body was my familiar pink blanket. I at first think nothing of this, surely I must've gotten hot in the middle of the night and wanted to get cooler, although I don't recall going to bed.

I only notice something wrong when I take a closer look at my surroundings. Across my bedroom floor were my clothes and undergarments, just strewn around with no care. Along with Natsu's signature vest and pants.

'Wait...why are Natsu's clothes on my bedroom floor!?'

My heart nearly drops as I turn next to me. His scarf also amongst the sheets. Attached to his scarf was his pink locks of hair, the rest covered with the same pink blanket.

'Holy shit what happened yesterday....Natsu usually crashes in my bed....but not like this...not naked'

Just then another pressing thought occurs to me. 'Is it possible that him and I...had...had done something?'

I can feel my face go red and I shake my head. That's too absurd, I know I'm not very good at handling alcohol but I would never be so intoxicated to make a mistake like that.

I look back at the sleeping Natsu once more. I didn't want him to get the wrong impression and see this whole mess as I did.

I slide out of the bed, and quickly cover myself with a nearby bathroom towel. I might as well clean myself. I had no idea what took place but a nice relaxing bath would clear things up anyways. Besides, perhaps it would also rid of this pounding headache.

On my way to the washroom I pick up my clothes and neatly put them away. I wouldn't want the dense dragonslayer to put two and two together and figure that we might've slept together. I wouldn't want things to be awkward between us. I'm hoping this is something we can just forget. After all we were under the influence of alcohol, it's not like anything we did last night was sincere.

After my relaxing—or supposed to be relaxing bubble bath I return to my bedroom with nothing on but a bath towel, it was embarrassing considering the dense dragon slayer was still in my bed.

Just as I finish up getting dressed, placing the belt on my short miniskirt, Natsu comes to. He stretches and becomes aware of his surroundings, noticing me across the room.

"Oh hey, morning Luce." He says groggily.

I mentally sweat drop. It's not like he woke up in my room, and my bed or anything...

"Just so you know I slept on the couch while you passed out on the bed. You were a mess last night." I lied not wanting to sound suspicious or for him to question why he woke up there in the first place.

The dragon slayer almost gets up before noticing he's naked, only the blankets covering himself.

"...When I returned home you were already stripped naked sleeping...I just left you alone. It must've been the drinks." I lied once more, feeling guilty for not bringing myself to tell the truth.

"Thanks for putting up with me last night. It was probably awful." He comments, rubbing the back of his neck.

"It was no trouble. You were celebrating, it was a fun night." I say, then turning and leave the room, giving Natsu some space to change.

I let out a soft sigh. 'That was close. I wonder what he would think if he had realized the truth of the night before.'

Not wanting to deal with facing him at my house once again, I leave early and head towards the Fairy tail Guild, where I'm sure I can get my mind off things and perhaps vent a bit to my best friend Levy.

"Oh my god, shut up Luce you two did not!" Levy says in awe as I carefully explain my situation to her.

"Shhhh!" I remind her. I wanted this to be kept under wraps. It's not a big deal.

"SoOoO does lover boy remember anything?" She teases nudging my arm a bit.

"O-of course not!" I exclaim. "We were both clearly drunk and I'm only going off what I think happened. For all I know nothing could've transpired and I'm just being paranoid. But just in case I don't want anyone to find out, okay?"

Levy nods.

"Promise?" I hold out my pinky finger.

"Promise." We link pinky fingers agreeing to keep this to ourselves.

The bookworm them quietly squeals. "You two totally did it!"

"Levy!"

Natsu's POV

"Have you noticed Luce acting weird today?" I ask Gray as we stand by the request board, me observing Lucy talking with Levy.

"No flame brain, why?" Gray retorts ticking me off—I wanted a serious answer not an insult!

"Well it seems she's been avoiding me ever since this morning...I don't know why."

"Perhaps Lucy got sick of you." Ice princess smirks angering me more.

"This is serious ice ass!" I argue. "Do you know if this is a girl thing???"

"Relax, Natsu. Just think back to earlier and what happened. Why she would act this way." Gray says calmly making me think harder.

"...I mean I did wake up naked in her bed this morning."

Gray then does an invisible spit take, without the drink part looking shocked as ever for some reason.

"You dense idiot, where you alone?"

"Ya of course, Luce told me she slept on the couch, why?"

Ice princess then proceeds to facepalm. "You're on your own dude. You've gotta figure this out without me." Gray begins to walk away.

"Hey!! You can't leave me hanging ice freezer!"

Lucy's POV

I turn to see the sudden commotion taking place nearby. Catching a glimpse of Natsu and Gray fighting each other of course, no surprise there.

"I wonder what they're going on about this time." Levy giggles.

Just then Erza, who is suited in her usual armour interrupts the conversation by putting her hand down on the table, a paper in hand.

"Lucy, Team Natsu should head out on a mission today to collect some jewel. It seems I had gone overboard with my budget on last nights drinks and I need the money. I'm sure you have your reasons for partaking." She says holding out the request to me.

'Well it is almost the end of the month...I'll definitely need some jewel for my rent.'

I look closely at the flyer. Apparently a client wanted a handful of Fairytail wizards to stop by and fend of some bandits that had been recently casing his house. The client suspicious of a break in wants us to catch them before it gets out of hand. It seems simple enough, and payed well too.

"Alright I'm in!" I exclaim, already dreaming of all that extra money I'd have to spend on myself after paying rent.

"Excellent." Erza says. "Natsu, Gray, get over here! We're going on a mission."

"Alright!" Natsu cheers, pausing his squabble with Gray.

I stand up to tag along with them.

"Good luck Lu!" Levy calls out to me as we leave the Guild, the bookworm then winks at the last second making me blush and almost regret spilling the beans with her.

I hope you enjoy this new nalu book I'm starting, hopefully I'll complete it! It's somethingw different from what I usually do, I'm trying to take a break from x reader stuff and making a NaLu pregnancy fanfic is much more fun???
