{Chapter Fifteen - Don't Hurt Him}

The movie finished pretty quickly which caught you by surprise. When you were little, it felt like hours until it had finished. I guess time flies when you get older.

You, Sans, Papyrus, Frisk, and Toriel walked out of the movie theatre and to the doors, talking about the movie. It had still been pretty good even though it came out years ago. Although some parts looked like they had been edited.

You all walked outside and saw the sun starting to set. You saw Frisk tug on Toriel's dress and plead for something, you weren't sure what though. You heard Toriel laugh and nod her head.

Everyone climbed into the car and Toriel started to drive towards the park. Why were we going to the park? Was there some sort of event there? Honestly you just wanted to get home and sleep.

You saw the park come into view but didn't see anybody there. Toriel parked the car and everyone climbed out. "Hey Toriel, what are we doing here?" Toriel smiled at you then watched as Frisk ran into the park. "Frisk wanted to catch fireflies and look at the stars."

Oh. You looked into the park and saw small blinking lights. Frisk chased after them, giggling and trying to catch them. You smiled and walked in, seeing fireflies literally everywhere. You saw one and ran over, watching it fly around then raising your hands to catch it.

You felt a hand on your shoulder and jumped, your eyes glowing. Toriel took her hand off her shoulder and giggled, apologizing. You noticed some fireflies had stopped and were coming towards you.

You backed away which just attracted more attention. The fireflies zoomed towards your face and you backed away. What the heck? Why were they following you? Sans watched and laughed when you started to run away, the fireflies chasing after you.

"Why are they chasing me!" "Maybe it's your eyes." Oh right. You stopped them from glowing and when they did the fireflies stopped and started to fly around as normal. You let out a laugh and made your eyes glow again, watching as the fireflies flew towards you.

"Hey Frisk! C'mere!" Frisk ran over and smiled when they saw a hoard of fireflies around you. They ran around you and caught multiple fireflies in just one catch. Papyrus was looking at the fireflies suspiciously and shrieked when one landed on his skull.

"I AM BEING ATTACKED! (Y/N) GET IT AWAY!" You laughed and swatted away the firefly. "They won't hurt you! They're gentle." Papyrus held out a hand and a firefly landed on it. He smiled in delight and looked at the firefly in amazement.

The sun had fully set and the park was now dark except for the fireflies and random park lamps. You made your eyes stop glowing and watched as the fireflies flew around freely, lighting up the park with their glow. Frisk tugged on your shirt and pointed towards somewhere in the park.

"What is it Frisk?" "Can we go look at the stars?" "Sure, can we see them over there?" Frisk smiled and nodded, running off in the direction that they had pointed. You ran off after them, not wanting them to be alone in the dark park. Frisk stopped and looked up. You also looked up and gaped at the sky.

Millions and millions of stars dotted the black night sky, twinkling and even getting brighter than others. You started to spot familiar constellations, Orion, the Big Dipper, the Little Dipper, Ursa Major, and many more.

You sat down in the grass, Sans sitting down next to you. Frisk had laid down a few feet away and was gawking at the sky. Papyrus and Toriel walked over and looked up, seeing the brilliant stars.

You eventually laid down in the grass to see the stars better, your eyes hopping from one light to the next. Sans laid down next to you and wrapped an arm around you, making you smile.

This was perfect. You scooted closer to Sans and closed your eyes. Sans noticed you starting to go to sleep and let out a laugh, making you open your eyes to look at him.

"What?" "You can't go to sleep yet, I've got something planned when we get home." "Oh really, what is it?" Sans smiled and looked back up at the stars. "Undyne bought a few... What do you humans call them? Fireworks?"

You gasped and sat up, staring at Sans. "You didn't." He sat up next to you. "You're right. I didn't. Undyne did." You rolled your eyes. "You know what I mean."

You heard Frisk yawn and looked over to see Toriel standing up. "We should get home if we want to do those fireworks before everyone falls asleep." You stood up and walked with everyone back to the car. Everyone climbed into the car and Toriel pulled out and started to drive home.

You looked out the window and watched scenery go by along with a few cars. Your arms was hanging out of the window and you quickly pulled it in when you saw a familiar black car.

Your eyes went wide and you crouched down to the floorboards, pulling Sans with you. "SANS? HUMAN? WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Sans looked at you. "Yeah what are we doing?" You leaned over to him and whispered that the humans were driving next to them. He peeked out the window and saw the black car.

"Why can't we live in peace?" "I don't think they know we're in here, we just have to hide until we get home." You leaned your back against the car door and pulled up your legs.

Woopty doo. You were still being hunted by those humans. You'd have to figure out how to rid of them eventually, you couldn't keep living like this. Neither could Sans. Speaking of Sans, he had fallen asleep on the floor boards and Papyrus was trying to get him off of his foot.

You giggled then heard the car stop. You looked out the window to see that the car had been pulled over to the side of the road. No no no no no. You saw the black car park behind you and you turned to Sans.

"Sans we need to go now!" You shook him but he wouldn't wake up. If you and him didn't die then you'd kill him. "Sans wake up! They're here!" You heard a knock on Toriel's door and you looked up, seeing Milo outside. Your heart started to race as you desperately tried to wake up Sans.

Toriel rolled down the window and you could hear a bit of conversation about how the humans had seen you and Sans in the car. You ducked behind Toriel's seat where he couldn't see you and glared at Sans.

You summoned a fly swatter, because apparently that was a weapon, and hit him in the head, making him bolt awake. Oops. Milo saw Sans bolt up and grinned.

Sans looked confused but when his gaze landed on Milo an expression you had never seen before was on his face. Sans grabbed your arm and you both teleported to who knows where. Unfortunately, since Sans had just woken up, his magic appeared to be weak.

You both appeared at the end of the road, all the humans staring at you. Milo grinned and started to run. Your eyes widened and you bolted down another street, dragging Sans behind you.

You just wanted to see some freaking fireworks! Was that too much to ask? Sans glanced back, his eye suddenly blazing blue. "W-what?" He shook his head and started to run faster, you also picking up your pace. What had he seen? Was there more dart guns? Multiple humans?

You couldn't look back otherwise you would start to run slower. Whatever they had it was meant to run away from.

You had no idea where you were now, it was too dark and the area looked unfamiliar. You heard a familiar shout that sounded close beside you and you turned your head slightly to see Undyne running towards the humans with a spear. You loved that fish!

The humans slowed down and stared at Undyne as she started throwing spears. Some humans ran away while the rest tried to get past her. You and Sans disappeared around a corner and found yourself running through a narrow and long alley. Everything bad happens in an alley.

You were about to run out of the alley when Milo stepped out from the shadows with a weapon in his hands. You skidded to a stop and stared at the gun, your mind going blank and your eyes going wide.

no.

Milo grinned and loaded the gun.

No.

Sans stood in front of you, his eye blazing.

NO.

Milo laughed maniacally and raised the gun, pointing it at Sans.

"NO!"

You pushed Sans aside just as the shot was fired.

You let out a short scream, pain filling your body. You felt something searing hit your chest and you reached to it, pulling your hand back to see a dark liquid. Tears were in your eyes as you let out a sob, falling to your knees. Blood bubbled in your mouth as you heard shouts.

You heard another gun shot and screamed again, gripping the second hole in your chest. The world was turning fuzzy and your senses were failing. Your muscles became weak and you went limp, falling to the ground. Blue light kept flashing in front of your eyes but your mind was in too much chaos to notice.

Despite your eyes being open, you took a shuddering breath and the world went dark.

Sans' POV:
"(Y/N) NO!!" Her eyes filled with surprise and pain as blood ran down her chest. I screamed in rage as I snapped my fingers, Gaster blasters appearing next to me.

They shot their deadly light at Milo as he laughed. I wanted to kill him over and over again but humans on the surface were so weak. No resets. Nothing.

Another shot came from the gun and I saw (Y/n) stumble. This can't be happening. She took the bullets for me. Rage filled my mind as I sent more Gaster blasters on him and raised bones from out of the ground.

I watched as his eyes went lifeless, his screams going silent. He should suffer more. Much more. I heard footsteps behind me and whipped around to see more of those disgusting humans.

They raised their puny weapons at me but I was faster. They were killed in seconds. So weak. So pathetic. It was amusing.

My breathing turned ragged as I turned to (Y/n), her body limp and a pool of blood around her. I rushed to her and fell to the ground, lifting her body in my arms.

Humans have heartbeats... I should be able to hear it... Why can't I hear it?

Her (E/c) eyes were still open but they had no life in them. Her body had no signs of life. She was dead.

I screamed as tears streamed down my face. It was the loudest I had ever screamed before. Those humans deserved more than just one death. They deserved an eternity of suffering.

She couldn't possible be gone. Just an hour ago we were smiling and spending time together. How had everything changed so suddenly.

A light from (Y/n) made me stare at the floating (S/c) soul above her body. I saw a crack form in it then another one. I looked away as I sobbed into her lifeless body, hearing crack after crack form in her soul.

I finally heard the sound of her soul shattering. It felt like my own had shattered too. She was gone. She was really gone. I wouldn't see her again. I wouldn't see her brilliant smile. I wouldn't see her sparkling eyes. I wouldn't hear her amazing laughter. I wouldn't hear her gentle voice. I wouldn't... No... No no... How... Why...

"WHY! WHY DID SHE HAVE TO DIE!"

Her blood was now soaked into my jacket and my shirt, a red stain that couldn't ever be washed out. I looked at her face, color no longer in her skin. Heh. She was still as beautiful as the day I first met her.

I shut my eye sockets and shook, my grip tightening around her body. I heard a ping and slowly opened my eyes, seeing something glow where her soul lay in shards. I stared at the glow, trying to see what it was through my tears.

I gasped and dropped (Y/n), her skin boiling hot. She was... Glowing. What? That can't be right.

I wiped off my tears to see what the glowing thing was.  I stared at it, not believing what I was seeing.

Where her old soul lay in shards, an upside down (S/c) soul hovered above it. A... Monster soul?

The soul floated over to her body and sank into her chest. Everything went still, an eerie quiet filling the air.

(Y/n)'s eyes suddenly blazed with light and her body glowed even brighter. I looked away, the light hurting my eye sight. The alley grew uncomfortably hot and I started to sweat.

The light finally dimmed and I blinked, trying to get the black dots out of my eye sight. I turned to (Y/n) and almost screamed.

She was a monster.

She looked very similar to a skeleton, having pale white skin and black eye sockets with a permanent grin on her face like mine. What made her different was that she still had skin. She still looked lifeless with her pale skin but I knew she wasn't.

She was breathing.

Your POV:
Everything hurt and you felt weird. Your brain was fuzzy and you couldn't remember what had just happened but you knew something was wrong.

You opened your eyes and found yourself laying on the ground in a pool of blood. What? You heard someone take a shuddering breath and looked up to see Sans staring at you.

He smiled and let out a choked sob, mumbling something about how he couldn't believe it. He was suddenly by your side, gripping tight and sobbing into your shoulder.

"Sans what's-" You had hugged him back and looked at your hands. They looked lifeless. You stared at them then realized why You felt weird. You were dead... Weren't you?

"I can't believe it... You're a monster... How is this possible..." Oh so you weren't dead. Wait. You're a monster?

You reached up to your face to feel hard bone. You screamed which made Sans back up in surprise. You started to freak out. You were a skeleton?!

You touched where your eye should be but just felt a gaping hole. You shoved your hand into the hole and suddenly you couldn't see out of your left eye. It made you let out a small giggle.

You shoved your other hand into your eye socket and let out a laugh. You were so childish. You heard Sans let out a laugh too but it was sorta shaky. Did that mean you have a skeleton body too?

You took your hands out of your eye sockets and lifted your shirt, seeing a rib cage with no skin anywhere. You stared, fascinated by it when you heard Sans inhale sharply. You looked at him to see his whole face flushed with bright blue as he tried to look away.

What was it? You put your shirt down and looked at your hands and arms. You were a bit confused at everything when you remembered what happened.

You quickly turned around to see Milo's lifeless body. You could see other dead humans in the alley and shuddered. You felt Sans take your hand and you looked back at him. He helped you stand up and it felt sorta weird. You started to get a head rush from standing too fast and gripped your head, surprised to feel that you still had hair. I guess you were still half human. That would explain your arms and legs.

You finally asked the question that you should've asked when you first realized your changes. "Sans, why am I a monster?" "Uh... I'm not sure... Maybe... Maybe it was the machine... The one in the Underground... Can you still do magic?"

Could you? You concentrated then felt burning in your right eye. Why wasn't your left eye glowing? Was that the price to pay for becoming a monster? You summoned your sword and we're happy to see that you could still do that. Could you teleport again? You'd have to try that later, you were still a bit shaken up from being dead and stuff.

"Sans... Where's everyone else?" As if on cue, all your friends ran into the alley with concerned looks on their faces. They stopped when they saw you and Sans, shock displayed across their faces. Papyrus was the first to step forward, a curious and confused look on his face.

"(Y/N)? IS THAT YOU?" You smiled and nodded. Alphys walked up and stared at your new monster body. "You're a m-monster? H-how is that p-possible?" Undyne grinned and walked over with Toriel and Frisk behind her.

"You're one of us! That's awesome!" You shrieked as she hugged you tightly. "Can't... Breathe!" She stopped hugging you but still grinned. "Sorry about that, so you're a skeleton?" "I guess so, what does my face look like?"

Frisk giggled and pointed to Sans. "Kinda like his!" "I look like Sans?" You laughed and touched your face again, feeling that you had a permanent grin and no lips.

You opened your mouth and touched fangs that felt very sharp. "Woah cool!" Toriel looked at the dead humans and grimaced. "Well, we should probably leave before anyone finds these awful humans."

*Time Skip because I'm lazy*

You were in the bathroom, staring at your reflection. You actually kinda did look like Sans. You opened your mouth and saw your fangs and what looked like a translucent tongue. Your tongue was the same color as your soul, a glowing (S/c).

You still had your hair which you appreciated and your eye sockets had white pinpricks in them. You activated your magic and stared at your glowing right eye, your left eye completely black. That sucked.

You heard a knock on the door and opened the door, seeing Papyrus standing there. He smiled when he saw you and picked you up, catching you by surprise. "LADY TORIEL HAS MADE US PIE!"

Papyrus dropped you onto the couch and you plopped down in the soft cushions next to Sans. Sans was acting the happiest you had ever seen him which made smile and be equally happy. You loved seeing him like that.

Toriel smiled and handed you and Sans a plate of pie then went to get more for everyone else. You stared at the pie. Could you even eat it? You looked over at Sans who was eating his pie no problem.

You took a piece and opened your teeth, putting the pie in your mouth. You bit into it and ate it just like you would with your human body. Sans had watched you and laughed when surprise crossed your face as you ate the pie.

"Where does the pie go?" Sans shrugged. "I dunno, it doesn't really matter." You ate the rest of your pie and got up to put the plate away when Undyne ran into the room holding a box full of fireworks.

"Since nobody died and nobody is being hunted lets do this!" Undyne ran out the door with a startled looking Alphys yelling for her to come back. You giggled and quickly put your plate away. You ran outside and saw everyone already in the car. You climbed in next to Sans and Undyne started to drive towards the fields by the forest.

It was probably around midnight but you weren't tired at all. Maybe it was a monster thing. Undyne finally pulled into the clearing and heaved out the huge box of fireworks.

"Are we allowed to do this?" Toriel nodded. "I went ahead and asked if it would be okay. They said as long as we were away from the road we could have access."

Undyne grabbed a huge firework and stuck it into the ground. You decided that the smartest thing to do would be to back up. You walked back about fifty feet and sat down in the grass, watching from a distance as Undyne lit the firework and ran away. Sans sat down next to you while everyone else except Undyne sat closer to the fireworks.

You watched as the firework flew into the air and exploded in a bunch of sparkling colors. You smiled and watched as Undyne lit several at once then ran back.

Sans wrapped an arm around you and pulled you over to him. You rested your head on his shoulder as the fireworks exploded in color.
