3. Pushing Her Away
Mabel ran towards the Mystery Shack, a great big smile on her face, "DIPPER!" She yelled when she went inside but no one except for Soos was inside.
"Sorry Hambone, he just left with Wendy." Soos replied.
"Did they say where they were going?" Mabel said, her smile falling slightly.
"No, but I'm covering for them wanna join me?" Soos said, not noticing Mabel's mood changing.
"Um, sure, I'm just going to go put this in my room..." She sighed.

"Dipper want to go hang out in town?" Mabel asked, turning to look at her brother who was to busy texting on his phone. "Dipper!"
"Huh? Did you say something Mabel?" Dipper asked, side glancing at her before going right back to his phone as it dinged. He chuckled and texted back.
"You've been doing this all day, who are you texting?" Mabel asked, trying to read his screen.
Dipper turned to look at her, hiding his phone, "It doesn't matter, Mabel." He snapped before going back to his phone.
Mabel backed away, her smile was slowly fading, "Um okay, I'll go by myself, maybe go see if Candy and Grenda want to hang out..." She looked at Dipper once more while he gave no reply, before walking away her heart breaking a little.

Mabel ran upstairs, looking for Dipper, "Dipper, look at what I drew!" She yelled as she opened the door to their room but no one was inside. She walked inside going to her bed, seeing a note.
Mabel,
Went out with friends, don't wait up for me.
Luv,
Dipper.
Mabel bit her lip and crumbled up the paper before angrily throwing it to the corner of the room, "What about me, Dipper?" She whispered to herself, laying on her bed, staring at the ceiling, trying to keep her tears from falling.

"Dipper want to go on an adventure?" Mabel asked, catching him as he reached the door.
"Can't, we'll hang out later." He said getting ready to leave.
"Where are you going? Can I come?!" She said starting to get excited, skipping to the door.
Dipper sighed, "Sorry Mabel but it's mine and Wendy's movie night."
Mabel slumped a little, "Well when are you getting back?"
"I don't know, late? I'll hang out with you later, whenever you want, I promise." He said before leaving.
"Bye..." She whispered.

"Dipper, you promised me that we could hang out whenever I wanted!" Mabel yelled as Dipper got up to leave from the diner.
"Wendy just got back from her camping trip!"
"I thought you said you didn't have feelings about her anymore!"
"I don't! I just like her as a friend!" Dipper demanded.
Mabel glared at him, "Then why are you leaving me?!"
He glared back, "I just- I, I gotta go." He slammed money down on the table before running out the door.
"You promised..."

"Look Mabel, sorry for running off the other day..." Dipper sighed, scratching the back of his neck.
"It's fine." Mabel said facing the wall instead of him as she laid of her bed.
"Yeah I know I scre- did you just say it was fine?"
"Yeah, I get it, you've always liked Wendy, being home wouldn't change that, hope it all works out." Mabel said softly, trying to keep her voice from cracking.
"You're the best! Hey Wendy and I are going to the water tower, want to come?"
Mabel's heart cracked a little more, she was just going to be the third wheel, "No, I'm actually going to go hang out with a friend today..."
"Oh, um okay, well I'll talk to you later?"
"Okay talk to you later."
"Awkward sibling hug?" Dipper asked opening his arms but Mabel just laid there not responding to him. The air grew tense, practically suffocating, so he slowly went to the door, "Okay another time..." With that said he was gone.
"Awkward sibling hug..." Mabel whispered, letting the tears crash down before grabbing her phone. If anyone knew how to make her feel better, he did.
