Chapter 38

*James Pov*

"Now, you are going to die." Hearing those words from the device made my blood run cold along with everyone in the room.

"But let's wait for some time." These added words are like some sort of balm to the pain and I glanced at the man who is locating the place with more hurry than before.

"Don't fall asleep on me like that again." We heard the annoyed voice with felt so sick and I took a step back staring at Nakul who is looking pale now.

Swathi moved away from him and walked to the door where I am standing typing on her phone, but I immediately took it away from her to which she glanced up.

"Don't call your parents and get them worried. We will find her and it is better to inform them after doing that." I said staring at her tear filled eyes.

"You sure you want to find her?" she asked, taking her phone back and stared out.

"What are you saying?" I asked her frowning and she immediately stared at me with complete anger.

"What am I saying is how you acted like a jerk with Maha just because her Dad died in the accident too. That was the reason she didn't tell you that she was in danger as informed by Mr.Bhuvan. If she had, then this wouldn't have happened." She replied and I closed my eyes.

"Do you think I don't know that? That this is my fault and my behavior is also wrong? But I just couldn't believe that she doesn't know how her Dad died. I mean she is not that younger to you. So, I was angry thinking she hid it purposefully and has some motive. This is what I am, Swathi. My job is to doubt everyone and I never had a need to not doubt someone. I didn't do it when I first met her, but maybe a little though. However, the information she gave was more important at that time. I am trying to change." Saying everything which I know I couldn't have while looking at her, I opened my eyes to see her staring at me with a face completely pale.

"Radha! I am finally going to take revenge on him for killing you. Today I will kill his wife and let him feel how much it pains to lose someone we love." We heard the voice making any thought skip from our minds.

"Radha? Is he talking about Mom?" Nakul suddenly asked and my eyes widened along with Swathi's.

"Yes! He was your Mom's boyfriend and the cause of everything. I should have known, but your Dad was good at hiding everything but didn't before his doctor. When I explained the situation, the doctor gave me all the details. So, I was trying to track him from the moment I left from here." Mr. Bhuvan explained.

"Boyfriend before marriage?" Nakul asked, but got a reply which shocked us more.

"No! After marriage and for four years before she left this world." I shook my head and glanced at a sound to see the man standing up.

"We found it!" he declared and I immediately called my team to go near the area whoever is near to it.

"I need to go." Saying that I moved, but Nakul, Swathi and Mr. Bhuvan followed me.

"It will be dangerous." I said, frowning at them, but none of them budged.

"You can take this device with you too, and if they move to any place you can know." Saying that a device was thrust into Swathi's hand.

When I can see no one is going to stay back, I just ignored their presence before taking out the gear and gave extra to Nakul to be on the safe side.

"Finally, you are awake." When we heard this, a new set of panic entered each one of us.

What if he will go ahead just because she is awake and the put more speed before driving madly while Nakul sitting beside me stared at the speaker.

"Who are you?" we heard a small voice and my hands tightened along with Nakul's.

"I would have been a happy man if not for that husband of yours. He killed my love." We heard the reply.

"Who?" the questions started from that moment and replies were returned making me feel a little relief knowing well we will have time if this continues.

"Isn't she like married? How could she be your lover?" these questions made to have a pause in his answers.

"She wouldn't have been but that bastard made sure she is not given divorce and that day we both were going to run away. However, that son of her's joined her who actually was placed kind of like a bodyguard by his father to her to make sure she doesn't go anywhere." This reply just made me start to understand a little.

"For four years she tried everything to make him release her from that marriage but that bastard never did. You see she was smart, and somehow stepped out of the house, even though with her son. But then that son of hers has to kill her." He suddenly shouted and we all flinched.

"He was a boy and why would he kill his own mother." Maha shouted back and my eyes widened.

"I am disappointed hearing those words and mainly in your family." His words brought a frown now.

"What?" she asked and I can imagine the frown.

"What other things does your family need? I have sent proof's for him to be the murderer, which they used to fight through court and lost. And what did they do? Completely forgot about everything and got on with their lives." He replied in disgust.

"You could have fought by yourself." There was a tiny whisper.

"But then I would be saying my relation to her and her name would have been spoiled." His replied made me shake my head thinking there was no need for him to tell anyone about his relation for fighting in the court.

"So, you know what you both were doing is not proper." She said and we heard a crash sound making Nakul shout for her.

"Shut up! And let me continue. Now, I haven't stopped fighting though. I made sure to cause accidents wishing he will die in some, but want him to get punished by law. So, they were minors and sent about the accident details as if he is the one who made all those to your Father. But then my anger won making me kidnap him along with that friend of his." He said laughing and I felt the flashbacks of the kidnap but I ignored them not wishing to think about them.

"How much time will it take?" Nakul asked and I mumbled a reply.

"That was another failure. Anyway, I loved your sister's plan. I mean, that was genius to destroy him and then I would have struck him." His voice reached and I glanced at the review mirror to see Swathi flinching.

"How do you know all this?" Maha asked and he laughed.

"I have my sources, but due to that tight security I couldn't do the same at Nakul's house." This was a reply with frustration.

"You tried to kill both of them." Maha accused and got a laugh in return.

"I would have done it any time, but do you know why I did that day? Because you were not with them." His replied made me frown, thinking what is he coming up to now.

"Me? Why?" she asked and I glanced up to see my team's vehicle.

"Because I know your family is suffering like me losing the one's you love. So, I didn't want to harm you even though you spoiled the plan laid out by your sister." He replied and we got down, letting the words enter the head but not to sit back and think about them.

"But they turned out lucky. Now, that I sat and thought, you deserve to die for getting the justice delay." His words made us hurry and I gestured the team to circle the building while I stood near the car taking out the gun.

"No one is there, Sir." I heard the voice and felt more confident to take him down.

"It would have been better if they hadn't hid the truth from you though." His words made me freeze along with Swathi and Mr. Bhuvan but Nakul frowned.

"Means?" she asked.

"Means about your Dad dying in that accident along with Swathi's Mom. And also about the pictures regarding him doing the accident. Then you would have helped her with this revenge and not fall in love with him or something, right. So, now because of that truth being hidden, you will die." We heard a click and rushed to the building with Nakul still standing there but then he ran along with me.

She must be shocked hearing about her Dad's death in this way. Oh god! I need to get her out before she has to fight this man off.

"But I do know that my Dad died in that accident." This reply from Maha made us pause in shock, but I glanced at the window to see it closed.

"What?" he shouted frowning and I got a few words from my team making me feel another set of relief.

"Yes! I know my Dad died in that accident and I also know about the pictures at the same time when Di got to know. I know each and everything along with her." She continued and I glanced at Swathi to see her looking away from me while Nakul looked like he wish to be anywhere than here.

"I know my Dad died on spot unlike Di's and his mother. I know he would have been alive if not for that." She added and I closed my eyes when the man didn't say anything.

"So, you see all this is a plan of mine to take revenge for my Dad's death. Di's plan is good, but not good like mine. I even work at his company and I have more leverage than she could have gotten. It is not that I don't know anything but it is you who don't know everything." Her reply made me flinch and I shook my head hearing that the man just brought the gun down.

"Take him, but keep him alive." Saying that I glanced at Nakul to see him just stand there.

"Ah!" we heard a scream and that made both us move in a panic to the door.

We both got into the warehouse to see the man on the floor with a gun shot on his hand while Maha stared at us with wide eyes.

"Nakul!" she said in a whisper staring at us with tears falling from her face.

He immediately rushed near to her and removed the ropes to her unbound from the chair and she immediately stood up only to fall back on the chair.

This time he took her in his arms and lifted her up seeing that her legs are weak and I gestured to the two people walked inside to bind him and take him for the investigation.

We already talked to the local police when we shifted to India about Nakul's life being in danger, so now they will hold him for us to investigate.

"Nakul!" she whispered and cried in his arms while he continued to walk not saying a word holding her tightly.

I glanced at Swathi to see her switching off the device with pale face staring at Maha who got to stand down and hugged her.

"I am so glad you are fine." Swathi whispered.

"I was scared, but not that because I remember Grandpa's bracelet." Maha replied, glancing at Mr. Bhuvan who has a blank expression like Nakul.

We all got into the car with just her talking now while we four didn't utter a word. I started driving and glanced at the mirror to see Swathi staring at Maha with a puzzled expression.

"I was worried thinking whether you guys will know I am alive or not though. But I am glad you reached so soon." She added.

"We would have known if something happened to you." Mr. Bhuvan said making her frown.

"How?" she asked and he took the speaker from Swathi who held it with a tight grip.

"Like this." He replied finally taking it and switched it on.

"I don't understand!" she mumbled and it got repeated from the speaker making her eyes widen and I looked away from the mirror to glance at Nakul to see his eyes closed.

"Nakul!" she said and moved forward to place her hand on his shoulder through the gap between car window and seat which he shrugged off.

"Later! First, I want all answers about my Mom." Saying that he made her move back and we all didn't utter another word, no matter how many questions are roaming in our head.

"He was a drug addict and made sure she became one too." The doctor finally started talking when Nakul demanded the answers.

"She wanted a divorce, but your Dad feeling betrayed by her loving someone else made sure she didn't get one. He made sure to stop her from going anywhere without observation." He added.

"But why? Wouldn't it have been less painful?" Nakul asked, frowning and I glanced to my side to see Swathi and Maha sitting on the couch with Maha having a pained look.

"Yes! But your Dad was more thinking about her betrayal. However, whenever she doesn't have any drug to take, she had done very weird things. All this was not at the beginning though. It was just for one year before the accident. From what he said it seems he was busy with the company and she missed him. She tried to be fine, but then rebelled getting into a relationship with another." Doctor said with awkwardness showing on his face.

"However, after the accident in which she died and you were in a coma for one month made him think about everything and feel guilty. Because his stubbornness costed three lives. You were sent away when the Guptha's started the case after a few months. He was in depression, but fought the years. But then he met her and talked to her so many times that I finally saw him coming out of the depression. He even showed her picture and he is finally guilt free. But before he could do anything, he left this world too." He finished and glanced at everyone of us before giving a small smile to Maha about whom he talked but she is not looking at anyone.

"Thank you!" that's all Nakul said and he nodded before walking away saying he is going back to his city as the work is finished.

"The dinner is on the table." Swathi said, but no one seems to be thinking about it at all.

"Nakul!" Maha called him again, but didn't glance at him.

"I think we had enough of everything today. Let's just call it a day and discuss anything tomorrow." Saying that Nakul stood up and I moved away from leaning on the wall.

"Nakul!" she called again but he ignored it to nod at his Grandpa who nodded back before climbing the stairs to reach his room.

"Thanks for everything you both have done today." He said looking at me and then at Swathi.

Swathi looked at him with a frown, but finally stood up reluctantly when Maha nodded at her. We both walked off, but not before seeing him pulling her up to stand and climbing the stairs holding her in his arms.

"He looks so calm than what I..." she trailed off and I nodded.

"Expected all those words from her?" I asked and she shook her head walking into the house.

"I just hope... I hope he gives her a chance to explain before writing her off." She said, frowning and I stared at her with similar frown.

"I hope we will get the explanation too." I said, shrugging and she shook her head.

"She loves him too much to think about having revenge on him or anything." She mumbled, but I can see the uncertainty in her eyes.

"We will know about it when she explains." I said, placing a hand on her shoulder to which she moved away making it drop.

"Good night!" she said not even looking at me and sat on the cot in the living room while I just stood there.

"Good night!" I said back and walked into the room thinking what and all I have planned for today and how did it end up like.

Will anything happen like we expect it to or will it be always like this forever? I thought shaking my head and closed my eyes to try to let the sleep consume me even though with a bundle of thoughts.
