Unexpected Friendship, Part 2- Benny's POV (3 Days Later)

The feeling of having a true friend is magical. After feeling lonely throughout my high school career so far, it's life-changing to finally have a real friend who cares and will talk to me; even if we're completely different in some ways.
I did notice another girl sitting alone yesterday. She looked recognizable; probably because she's a cheerleader and athlete in basketball, track, and summer soccer. Those kind of kids are the "popular" kids. I never thought I'd see her, Julia Parker, sit alone. So, this morning during first period, I wrote her a little note :
"Come sit with me and my friend Kylee at lunch today. I'm sure you'll enjoy it and never have to sit alone again.- Benny Gregorio."
I think she got the note at the end of class. She seems to appreciate it, since she kept the note in mind and actually sat with us.
"Thanks for inviting me to your table today, Benny. I'm so glad to finally sit with other people at lunch," Julia says, with a charming smile.
"You're welcome! You can sit with us every day, if you'd like," I reply.
"Yes, of course! I just started sitting with Benny three days ago, 'cause I noticed him sitting alone!" Kylee exclaims.
"That's good. And I can't just sit with someone. I have to have a good conversation with that person in order to feel included and more sociable. Other cheerleaders and sports kids just aren't my kind of people. I just love sports so much. That's why I'm not quitting," Julia explains.
"Me too, and I'm glad to have the friend group I have now. I didn't think that any theatre company would leave anybody behind," I agree.
"SAME! Fellow emos in this school like to exclude me in their conversations. I'm not like the other emo yeemos," Kylee says.
For the rest of the lunch period, we have a good conversation about getting to know each other, as we laugh and laugh and talk. This feels so nice.
Meanwhile, I notice another boy sitting alone... he's stereotypically a "redneck" and a farmer boy. Things are shaping up to be pretty odd lately. And it's a crazy kind of odd.
