The community of emo kids in my school is pretty small. But of the kids in our emo community, I'm the one who ends up sitting alone at lunch and left out of the clique. And I thought this community was supposed to be one big group of friends who are all sweet to each other... but these emo bands I listen to, singing, and playing guitar are what keep me going. So, I just sit alone and connect with online friends who are fellow emos.
         Today at lunch, I notice another kid sitting alone. I don't know why I haven't noticed him before. No one deserves to sit alone, in my opinion, so I decide to go sit with him.
"Hello. I'm Kylee. What's your name?" I ask him as I sit next to him.
"Hi. I- I'm Benny. I never expected that someone would sit with me today. O-or any day, for that matter," he stutters.
"Well, today is your lucky day. I'm one of the 'emos' in the school. I sing and play guitar, too. I ended up sitting alone, too, because the other emos apparently don't like me," I say.
"Well, I'll be your friend. Thank you, Kylee, for sitting with me. That was awfully nice of you."
"Of course! What are you into, Benny?" I wonder.
"I love theatre. I'm playing the Lion in The Wizard of Oz right now for my school production. I listen to nothing but Broadway musical soundtracks, lol. I have no idea why no one else in theatre really likes me... they just, don't."
"I know that feeling. Well, you gotta friend. Let me know when you need anything, vro," I assure him.
"Thanks so much. You can let me know when you need anything, too."
"Thank you. No more sitting alone for us!" I exclaim.
         For the next few days, Benny and I have talked a lot and became, like, best friends. He's so sweet.
