Chapter 1

You know what I hate most about faulty airline processes? The people you're forced to sit next to.

"Fuck." I mumble as I see my seat, which was located in the left row. The only problem?

A huge man had claimed the window seat and his...mass, overflowed into my center seat.

I look around, biting my bottom lip anxiously. All other seats were either filled or in the process of being.

Guess it looks like I'm stuck here...

I slide into the seat closest to the row, despite my assigned seat being in the middle. Hopefully the owner of this seat is a no show.

I slide my backpack off my shoulder, but not before sliding out the brochure for my destination.

Ah. France. I'm meeting my friend Mikasa from Tokyo, there. We agreed on sharing a place in France together; splitting the fee. Though, she took an earlier flight before this one.

She's always ahead of the game.

I'm so excited! Except for the roughly twelve hour flight that comes before hand.

Remembering this, I rest my head against my seat, sighing loudly.

I'm going to be stuck next to Mr. IWeighALot, with only airplane snacks to satisfy me, and no music(since I had forgotten my headphones).

The one time I regret being unprepared.

Only seconds later I hear the quiet ding of the seatbelt signal go off, which was soon followed by the pilot's voice.

After talking about our destination and the flight attendant showing how to buckle a seat belt--like we don't know--the engines of the plane roar to life.

Finally...I'm just going go to try and fall asleep so this flight will go by faster.

Though, I'm not sure if I'll be able to. You never know what could happen on a flight this long...

"Uh...excuse...me?" I feel a tap on my shoulder and turn to the larger man taking up one and a half seats next to me.

"Ya?" I respond.

"Have...any, uh, gum?" He asks between deep breaths.

I smile weakly. "Sorry, no."

"It's...okay. I...have...some." Groaning rather loud, the man leans forward with effort. Reaching for a black bag underneath his seat, his round fingers wrap around its strap.

I roll my eyes. Nope. I'm not going to last.

I buckle the single seat belt across my lap and rest my head onto the back of my seat.

I let my eyes close as the plane speeds up down the runway, lifting up into the air.

*•*•*•*

I was currently in the state right between sleep and being conscience. The only thing I could hear is my own thoughts.

I don't know how long we've been flying and honestly I don't care.

As long as no one--

Suddenly I feel a strong turbulence shake the plane and something heavy land on top of me.

My eyes fly open and I am shocked to see a man nearly lying across me.

"Shit! Fucking planes!" They growl, quickly trying to get to their feet. I watch them, not really reacting since I was still stuck in a tired state.

Though right as the male begins to finally regain balance the seat belt sign 'dings' as another wave of turbulence hits the plane.

"Fucking--!" He tries gripping onto one of the many seats but fails and falls sideways yet again.

Aka: he face planted into my crotch.

A flight attendant comes rushing over. "Sir. Please take a seat while the light is still on!" She grabs the dark haired guy who was struggling to get up.

The flight attendant ushers the man past me and into the middle seat. "Um, excuse me? But why are you making me sit here?" The man refuses.

"Because--"

"No, no. Do you not realise what I just did in there?" He points over to the plane's bathroom.

Um...

"I fucking did the impossible. I pissed, standing up, during turbulence. I'm more than 100% sure I can make it back to my seat!" He complains.

The flight attendant looked nervous as she try's to settle down other nearby passengers.  "Um. Please sir. You can move back to your seat as soon as the lights turn off."

The man, who I just now noticed was quite short, looks at me. Something passes behind his eyes as he continues to stare.

I offer up a nervous smile since I didn't really know what else to do.

Blinking once, the man turns back to the flight attendant. "Tch. Fine."

He finally settles down in the center seat. Surprisingly he could fit in the spot, though he had to lift the arm rest.

Yes, that means he was pressed up against me.

Great, how was I going to sleep now.

"So. What's the occasion?"

I turn, slightly surprised, when the man talks to me. "What?"

"Tch." He rolls his eyes. "Why are you flying to France?"

"Summer break from college. Plus I've always wanted to go."

"Hm. Good choice."

"Why are you flying?" I ask looking down at this man's attire. He wore a black dress shirt and black slacks. "You looked a bit over dressed for a summer break."

"Hm. I wish. Just going for business." His answer was quick and straight to the point. Good. I won't have to worry about him droning on when I try to sleep.

"Oh. Quick question...uh,"

"Levi."

"Ah. Well, my name's Eren." I offer a hand, but Levi doesn't accept. So, to play it off, I pretend to scratch my head.

I chuckle nervously. "Quick question, Levi."

"Hm?"

"How much longer of this flight do we have?"

Levi chuckles shaking his head.

Pointing out of the small, oval window, I follow his gaze. "It hasn't even been fifteen minutes, kid. We've got a long way to go."
