Kid tells Ace that he first needs to go check up on the rest of their group, which he understands, but also insists on accompanying them. Kid doesn't outwardly complain, but (Y/n) can tell that he doesn't really want Ace to come. She shakes her head, following the guys out the door, Ace walking beside her.
He nudges her with his shoulder causing her to look over at him, a smirk on his face, "What? What is it?"
He raises his eyebrows at Kid and look back at her, "Aren't you lucky? Having a boyfriend that cares so much about you."
"Boyfriend?" she looks over at the red-haired male, talking to Law about something, well, more like heartedly discussing something. "Oh, no. No. No... we're... we just met not long ago... I'm practically his slave."
"If you were my slave, we'd already have had sex," Kid interjects. Somehow knowing exactly who they were talking about and hearing what she had said. "I just saved your life, and you owe me. But why exactly are we bringing up our relationship?"
"It's none of your business!" she folds her arms and looks in the opposite direction of the man, embarrassment evident on her face. "This was an A, B conversation so-"
"Yeah, yeah, 'C' your way out of it," he shakes his head. "Crazy woman."
"I heard that!" she tightens the grip on the pipe and glares at him. "Piece of human garbage."
Ace bursts out laughing, (Y/n) looking at the man and silently blaming him for this whole ordeal. He wipes away an invisible tear with his finger while he rests his other hand on his stomach, "You two are hilarious. Like an elderly cou-"
"Don't finish that," Law interrupts this time, his voice cutting through the atmosphere like the sword given to him. "I don't even want to see that yet."
"Yet?" (Y/n) stares at him, "Meaning eventually you'll want to? Meaning that you accept Kid?"
"As a person, yes," he stares at her out of the corner of his eye, "As a suitable person for you, no. Why do you seem so hopeful?"
"I'm not! I was just surprised that you said that," she shrugs, noticing the cars resting on the edge of town. Also, realizing that there are more people there now than when they left. And another dog. "Hey, A-"
"Ace! I knew you'd come," one of the newcomers say, waving at the approaching group. "I told you that they'd be fine with Ace."
"Izo, Jozu, I'm glad you guys made it safely," Ace reaches down, petting the smaller dog. "You too, Stefan. Don't think I forgot about you."
Kid stares at the two new people, suspicion evident in his gaze. Not like he can really say anything because Ace knows them, and they seem to know him. He folds his arms over his chest, before looking over at Heat and Wire. Heat shrugs, telling Kid that they seem to be trustworthy.
"I'm Kid," the red-haired male says, digging through his pockets for his keys. "Hop in, I'll give you all a ride back to your place."
