Chapter 1: The Hot-Headed "Captain" (3/3)

It takes forever to get back to his place, on the way he had debated sewing her mouth shut several times, but nonetheless they get there. Wire gently places (Y/n) onto his couch as Kid starts to cuss about the lights going out again and now he has to fucking fix them.
He exits the house, and lets the door slam behind him. She doesn't really care, because all she wants to do is just look around. The house is nice, from what she can tell, and seems to be oddly tidy for a man his age living alone. Wire walks away, leaving her in her own thoughts, and goes over to Heat.
They, mainly the blue-haired man, whisper back and forth about something that she doesn't care about. Suddenly, she feels like her (e/c) orbs are being blinded by all the light that entered the room.
The red-headed man enters the room before he takes a seat next to her. She almost screams as he grabs her leg and pulls her foot over to him so he can look at it closer. Her heart is beating so fast that she's pissed at how easily that scared her.
He doesn't notice, or if he does, he doesn't say anything about it, "Heat, I need you to get me the first-aid kit."
"Of course, Captain!" he exits the room and comes back with the red box, before handing it to the other male. "Anything else?"
"Water? I don't know. Don't ask me, ask the woman," he pulls out a cloth and presses it onto her ankle close to the bottom of her foot. "Do you need anything else, woman?"
She shakes her head as Kid's fingers send jolts of pain from her ankle to her brain. He grabs the gauze and starts to unravel it around the top of her toes, with her foot at a 90-degree angle. He gets to the top of her ankle and cuts the bandage before he grabs the tape and secures it.
"Don't thank me," he places all of the objects on his hand back to where he found them. "This just used to be Killer's job, and someone has to do it."
He runs his fingers through his hair before he pushes her foot off of his lap and lets it hit the floor, "Oh! You fuc-"
He glares at her, and she keeps her mouth quiet, something about the look told her that she should be happy he at least tried to be quote-unquote nice. She lets out a sigh before she brings her foot back up and rubs her ankle.
He leaves the room again before Heat takes a seat next to her, "He can be a bit brash, does it hurt badly because of him?"
"No," her (e/c) orbs look over the man again. She may regret all of this, but at least she isn't dying under some rubble. "Is Killer the one you guys are going to find?"
Heat nods as he thinks of their friend and then smiles at her, "Don't worry, he won't go out of his way just to harm you. And we'll all take good care of you until you get better, or we get Killer back. Whichever one comes first."
Kid's voice calls out for Heat so he jumps up and runs off to find out what he can do for his captain. Leaving (Y/n) and Wire alone, which is the same as leaving (Y/n) by herself because Wire hasn't said one word to the woman since he picked her up.
She wanted to ask so many questions about these men, especially the hot-headed self-named captain, but there's no one around to ask them to. Her eyes wander the room trying to gather some kind of information about the person who owns the place, but there's nothing to indicate that it's even been lived in for a while.
She starts to question if this was actually where Kid lived. She wonders how many people are actually alive and if she's stayed there if she would've been saved by someone with a little more compassion. She's also sure that he wrapped the makeshift-splint too loose, so she starts to carefully unwrap it all.
She then does everything he did again a little tighter than previously. Heat comes back as she replaces a string of medical tape and she feels like she has to explain, "I thought it was going to fall off if I tried to walk..."
"Captain probably didn't want to put it on too tight and cut off your circulation," he shrugs before he holds out a couple of crutches. "He also wanted you to use these for the first few days to move around the house and everything else while he tries to jumpstart the car out front. He's been trying for the past few days, but I think it's out of gas, so Wire and I will be going to a gas station to see if we can syphon some of that oil."
She takes the metal sticks from him and nods as the information sinks in, "Does that mean I'll be here with Kid alone?"
"Yep!" she looks over to Wire, and he just shrugs. "But as I said before, Kid is just hard to understand. Don't get in his way, and you'll be fine."
She sighs as she looks at her foot. Not getting in his way should be easy now that he's helped her out so many times. And it's hard not to believe that there's some good in him considering he's being so nice, but those could just be appeasement so that she doesn't complain about anything.
"Are you ready, buddy-ol-pal?" Heat grabs a canister before throwing it into a wagon filled more empty containers and food probably just enough to last them the trip there and back. "We'll be taking our leave captain!"
"Alright," Kid comes back into the room with two bottles of water and waves at the two other men before they leave the house. "Have fun."
He places one of the bottles on the table in front of her before he continues to walk to another room, "Where are you going?"
"My workshop," he stops in the door and looks at her. "Unless you want to join me in the bed."
She grabs a couch pillow and throws it at him, he smirks before he disappears into the hallway, the pillow completely missing him and falling onto the floor. A deep, agitated sigh escapes her lungs before she stares at the ceiling. This house has no personality to it, contrary to the person who live here.

-Chapter 1: The Hot-Headed "Captain"... End-

A/N
I forgot this book existed. The last time I updated was October 9, 2017. Sorry guys. I just really don't remember anything I was doing. So this might be a little bit differently written. Anyway, I'll be trying to update once a week (until I go back to school which is in 6 weeks... so six parts potentially?)!

-Chapter 2: The Workshop... begins next-
