Aerlinniel POV
It has been days of riding, there has not been much talking. Thankfully we are almost to Rivendell, I am starting to get sore from riding on my horse for so long.
I wonder why Caunedhiel wants to go to Rivendell and I wonder where she came from. I want to ask her, but I don't want to intrude.
When we finally make it to Rivendell, we rest there for the night. I am so thankful to finally get some rest. I hope to talk to Lord Elrond before Gandalf and I leave tomorrow. Gandalf had told me about him.
I lay there for a while, thinking about how so much has happened. Just a few years ago, I was a lonley elf wandering Fangorn. Now I'm going on some adventure or quest or something with Gandalf and some dwarves.
It's very unexpected. I wonder what is going on that is so important, that Gandalf wants me to come. I eventually fall asleep with all of those thoughts buzzing in my head.
~the next morning~
I wake up and can feel the sun shining on my face. It's coming from right side so there must be a window. The warmth of the sun's rays, feels so good on my skin.
I get up and change and get all of my weapons. Now, I have to find Lord Elrond before it's time to go. I walk out of the door and just stand there for a minute.
I don't know these halls that well. I have no idea where I am going. I lean against the wall. Should I just choose a random direction and hope I don't get lost? Or should I wait here for Gandalf? The sound of footsteps interrupt my thoughts.
"My Lady, are you lost?" An elleth asks me.
I nod my head and say, "I am looking for Lord Elrond. And you can call me Aerlinniel."
"Would you like me to take you to him, Aerlinniel?"
I'm about to answer when another elleth says, "I will take her to him, I know where he is."
After a moment, the elleth walks off, and the other elleth walks twords me. "It's nice to finally meet you, Aerlinniel. My Ada has told me a lot about you. I will take you to him." She says as she links her arm with mine.
"You are Lord Elrond's daughter?" I ask her.
"Yes, I am. My name is Arwen." She tells me.
"Thank you for helping me, Lady Arwen." I thank her.
"No need to thank me, I am happy to help you. And, you can just call me Arwen." She says, I can hear a smile in her voice.
We then stop and she knocks on a door. "You may enter." A voice, whom I am guessing is Lord Elrond, says.
Arwen opens the door and we walk in. I hear Lord Elrond walk over to us.
"Aerlinniel wanted to speak with you, so I will leave so you may talk." She says to Lord Elrond. Then she says to me, "It was nice to meet you, Aerlinniel. I hope to see you again soon."
I give her a smile and listen as she walks out of the room and closes the door. Then I turn back to Lord Elrond.
"Mae g'ovannen, Aerlinniel." Lord Elrond greets me.
"Mae g'ovannen, Lord Elrond." I say and bow to him.
"What is it that you would like to speak to me about?" He asks me.
"I just wanted to thank you for everything that you have done to help-" Before I can finish the door opens. By the sound of his heart beat, I can tell that it is Gandalf.
"There you are Aerlinniel, we must get going if we want to get there in time. Thank you Lord Elrond for letting us stay here, but we must be off." Gandalf says.
~a few days later~
It has been days of traveling, but Gandalf says we will get to where we need to be today. I feels the sun shining and I don't hear the russel of leaves, so we are not in a forest.
I hear Gandalf stop his horse and get off, so I do the same. "This is as far as we are going to go for now. But, I have to leave for a little while, but I will be back soon."
Gandalf was always doing this, leaving and then coming back. So, I understood. He headed off and I stayed with the horses and ate some lembas bread that Lord Elrond gave me. I wonder when Gandalf will be back.
