Hey guys! I'm going to be trying to get longer chapters now. Also, this is the last chapter of this book! I'm so sorry. However, I'm planning on releasing the next book sometime in August. Sorry if that seems really long, but I won't have my computer during the summer. Anyways, let's continue with the Unexpected finale! (By the way, this is the first book in the Unexpected trilogy)

Recap: 

 "What's taking so long?" I asked.

"I don't kn–" Allura was cut off by a roar that could be heard from miles away. It shook the whole castle in a triumphant roar.

"Yes!" Allura shouted.

"Thank God!" I yelled over-zealously as I punched the air above me.

And then the alarms went off.

Your POV:

     "What's wrong?" I asked Allura.

     Allura rushed towards the control panel and checked why the alarms were going off. An image popped up on the screen of the Galran ship plummetting towards the surface. 

     "It's the Galra," Coran said gravely. 

     "Paladins! The Galra ship is approaching! You must fight, and bond as a team!" Allura told them all. 

     "Got it!" They all shouted.

     "How can I help?" I asked Allura without hesitation.

     "You can help me set up the defenses," Allura explained as she rushed to turn on the particle barrier. 

     I really hope that the paladins are doing good. I hoped Lance was okay. I hoped Shiro wouldn't get abducted again. I hoped that Keith's temper wouldn't break. And I hoped that Hunk could stay kind. I hoped that Pidge could be smart. 

[Flashback to your Kindergarten Self]

     Today was my first day of Kindergarten. I was so excited!!! Mom said that I was going to make a bunch of new friends today. I just wanted to make at least one. Mom had also shown me a cool knife before I left. She said that it was my father's. 

     I walked into the classroom with a confidence that was so strong, I could've jumped off a cliff with no worry. The first thing I saw was a boy with weird black hair and a red sweatshirt. I walked up to him to say hi.

     "Hi! I'm [Name], what's your name? Do you want to be friends?" I asked him with a smile so huge it could blow all of the negative forces out of the air. {A/N: Now, you can see that you were a VERY positive child.} 

     "I'm Keith. I don't need any friends."  the boy responded. 

      "Well, then that sucks. Because you're my friend now, whether you like it or not." I told him. 

      "Whatever." 

[Fast-forward six years]

      "[Name], I want you to meet someone," Keith told me as he led me somewhere. 

      "Who do you want me to–" I was cut off as soon as I saw who was in front of me. Takashi Shirogane was right in front of me. Wait... KEITH KNEW TAKASHI SHIROGANE??? I felt as if I was going to fall over. Takashi Shirogane was a legend. I started to lose my balance. Keith came over to me to keep me sturdy. I gave him a look of thanks. He nodded back to me in response and looked over to the living legend.

     "Hey, Keith, who's this?" Takashi Shirogane asked Keith. 

     "Shiro,"–OMG, KEITH CALLED HIM BY HIS NICKNAME–"this is [Name]" Keith told him, introducing me to him.

     Takashi looked at me. "Hey [Name], I'm sure you know who I am. You can call me Shiro. Keith's told me a lot about you," He held out his hand.

      I took it as my hand shook. "Nice to meet you. I-I hope that Keith's said good things about me," I said nervously.

     "Don't worry, all good things," Shiro responded, smiling. On the outside, I might have looked calm; however, on the inside, I was internally screaming. 

[Fast-forward two years]

      Shiro was gone. The news had said that he and the team went missing on the Kerberos Mission. When I heard the news, my heart shattered. Why was this the year that everything was going wrong? First, my mother left me. Next, I get put into an abusive foster family. Then, Shiro goes missing. He was like the father that I never had. 

     Keith had called me as soon as the news came. He asked me if he could come over, and I said that my abusive parents had just had a lot to drink, so it wasn't a good idea. Instead, I went over to his place. We mourned together, and I ended staying the night at his house for the night; however, I had gotten a new scar on my hand the next morning.

     It didn't take long for people to figure out why I kept getting scars, and someone called the police. I got moved into a new foster family, and fortunate for me, they weren't abusive. 

     After Shiro disappeared, Keith started losing his temper. He continued to get madder and madder and he couldn't control himself. I had tried to talk to him a while ago, but he dismissed the topic. However, I invited him over so he couldn't avoid the topic. I told him that it was just a thing to help with studying.

     "Hey, Keith? What did you get for number 24?" I asked him as I was looking at my computer. 

     "I got Mitochondria," He answered after he checked his computer.

     "Thanks," I entered the answer into my computer and then set it down. "Keith, I need to talk to you about something,"

     "[Full Name], I swear, if it's about how I've 'lost my temper', then don't even start."

     "It is, Keith, whether you like it or not Keith. You seem like you're bottling up all of your feelings and not letting them out to anyone." I told him as I got up from my bed to stand. "I know that losing Shiro was a pain for you, and it was for me as well. He was the only person that I viewed as a father."

     "Yeah. The only person because you don't have a father. Or a real family. So just shut up," Keith said to me harshly as he jumped up from the bed. 

     I stood there shocked. He didn't go there. He just didn't. "Keith. Think about what you're doing. I know that deep in your heart, you didn't mean that." I was starting to get annoyed.

     "[Name], JUST SHUT UP! I did mean it. You have no idea what I'm going through! I never knew my mother. I never knew my father," 

     "KEITH! I NEVER HAD A REAL FAMILY! We're in the same boat! You grew up without your mom, and I grew up without my dad! Your dad left you, and my mom left me! So think about what you're saying!" I was getting really angry. 

     "No! You're just a lonely bitch who doesn't understand anything or anyone! That's why your parents left you! They didn't care about you!" Keith shouted at me without hesitation. He showed no 

     I was infuriated by now. I wanted to kill him. I wanted to slap him, kick him, and even punch him. So that's what I did. I slapped him. Right across the face. The impact of my hand hitting his face hurt my own hand, but I ignored the pain. However, it left a big red mark that stretched across his left cheek to his right. A tear ran down my cheek before I wiped it away.

     "Get out. Get out, Keith. I never want to see you again. Grab your stuff and get the hell away from me," I said as I turned around to hide my other flowing tears. "I thought you were my friend." 

     Keith got his stuff and rushed out the door in a rage. On his way out, he said something under his breath: Bitch. 

[Skip to three weeks later]

     "Hey, mind if I sit here?" A voice said. "I wouldn't want to skip out on sitting next to a beautiful girl like you,"

     I looked up to see who it was. The boy had caramel hair and dark blue eyes. It was the flirt of the school: Lance McClain. Oh well, at least it wasn't the jerk of the school: Keith Kogane. Since he and I weren't friends anymore, I didn't have anyone to talk to 

     "Uh... sure,"

[End of Flashback]

     "It's Voltron!" Allura shouted. 

     I looked up immediately. And, I, of course, saw a giant black, blue, red, green, and yellow robot soaring across the sky. "Yes!" I high-fived Coran and Allura. 

     We watched the whole battle. And I have one word to say to explain it: Epic. It was an amazing experience to watch. All of this was just amazing. It might have seemed like I had a half-normal life. I mean, most people don't have two parents leave you and have two foster families. But whatever. It also wasn't normal for someone to be friends with the great Takashi Shirogane. Or to have gone to space and fight aliens. Maybe even to be friends with an amazing team. We had Pidge Gunderson, Hunk Garrett, Keith Kogane, Lance McClain, Takashi Shirogane, Coran, and even the fucking Princess of Altea: Allura. I even got to take part in being the Defenders of the Universe. 

     All of this was just... Unexpected.
