• Chapter Forty-Two•

"You are so beautiful it hurts." ~Pearl Harbor

"How come you drink Coke? You realise that's no where near as good as Pepsi right?"

Abel places his fork and knife down before giving me a deep stare, "How could you say that Keziah? Coke is obviously the more superior drink." He says indignantly.

I scoff at him before leaning forward in my seat slightly, "It's clearly not otherwise Pepsi wouldn't have been made. If Coke was that good, there would be no need to create something so similar."

"They created Pepsi to weed out the weak from the strong. Those who chose Pepsi are weak while the Coke lovers are strong. It's evolution baby." Abel leans back on his seat and crosses his arms while throwing me a challenging smirk.

Despite wanting to wipe that look straight off his face, I'm ashamed to admit that I have nothing to say that could top that. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Instead, I stoop so low as to flicking my crumbs at his face.

"Hey!" Abel shouts, "Don't sulk because my points hold more merit than yours."

Rather than responding, I mimic his words while doing silly hand actions.

"Real mature Brown Eyes." He teases.

Abel quickly finishes the rest of his food before sighing in satisfaction, "I'm still hungry." He states.

My eyes almost bulge out of my head at his words, "How are you still hungry? You ate yours and a lot of mine."

Abel stares at me with that predatory gleam in his eyes once again while his lips lift slowly in his ridiculously attractive smirk, "I never said I was hungry for food." His eyes dart down towards my lips and he bites his own slightly.

I let out a small gasp at his bold words before smoothing my features out, "No more of that here Abel." I say in a calm voice despite the desperation clawing within me to reach over and smash my lips against his.

"Does that mean I can do it later?" he questions playfully.

I raise my eyebrows at him, "We'll see."

Both Abel and I decide against dessert since we're already full and ask for the bill.

"I'll pay half." I start to take out my purse when Abel places his hand on top of mine, "No way Brown Eyes. I asked you out so I'm paying." He said sternly.

"But-"

"Don't fight me on this baby, you won't win." Abel quickly hands over his card to before I can react leaving my mouth hanging open.

"Close your mouth Brown Eyes. You'll start to catch flies." He reaches over shuts my mouth for me while chuckling.

"I'm paying next time." I say firmly.

Abel simply laughs at me.

We leave the restaurant and the building and head to Abels car swiftly to try and avoid the cold as much as possible.

I sit down and buckle up before turning towards Abel, "Are you taking me home now?" Even to my own ears, I can hear the disappointment lingering; it's been such a good day and I don't want it to end.

"Do you want me to?" He asks.

I shake my head and look at him through my lashes, "No." I say softly.

"Neither do I." Abel smiles at me before pulling out of the car park.

"Do you want the radio on?" He reaches forward to fiddle with the buttons before he lands on a station that I like.

"Stop! I love this song!" I yell with enthusiasm.

"Baby you know that I miss you

I wanna get with you tonight but I cannot baby girl

And that's the issue, girl you know I miss you

I just wanna kiss you."

I point towards Abel and nudge his arm slightly causing him to let out a low chuckle. "You really can't sing Brown Eyes."

"Shut up I can!"  I exclaim.

Abel reaches over to turn the radio off but I hit his hand away before he can, " What are you doing!? Don't ruin my fun."

"I'm just not sure how much more my ears can handle." Abel takes a quick glance at me but that's all I need to see the teasing look in his eyes.

"Whatever Abel, I'm turning it back on." I press the button the station we were previously on and almost jump for joy, "It's the mini rap bit! Listen to how good I do it."

"Baby I been thinking lately so much about you

Everything about you, I like it, I love it

Kissing you in public, thinking nothing of it

Roses by the dozen, talking on the phone

Baby you so sexy, your voice is so lovely

I love your complexion, I miss ya, I miss ya, I miss ya

I really wanna kiss you but I can't."

I quickly point to Abel to finish off the last part and I almost scream in elation when he joins in, "Six, seven, eight, triple nine, eight, two, one, two!" He yells loudly.

We both burst into laughter here, me clutching my stomach from the amusement of it all. As we reach the traffic light to stop, Abel looks over and stares at me with such a deep intensity that it shakes me to my core before grabbing my hand in his, "You're amazing Brown Eyes. I'm so lucky and I lo-." He cuts himself off before shaking his head. "I'm happy you're mine." He whispers instead.
I wonder what he was going to say.

I lift our intertwined hands and kiss his before smiling at him in a way that I hope conveys the emotion I'm currently feeling. Abels eyes flicker between the both of mine and must have found what he was looking for as he smiles right back at me.

Just as I thought, Abel drove us to the place I call 'the spot' that overlooks the town since its where we hang out together frequently. At this time in the evening, the lights that spread all across town make it look magical, almost like I'm living in my own personal fairy tale. You know, the kind where you meet the guy, fall in love and kiss under the night sky.

We both take off our seatbelts and turn to face one another fully.

"Abel, I have your Christmas present to give you but before I do that I have something to tell you."

Abel nods at me to go ahead.

"Okay so you know the day of your birthday? Well Carter actually spoke to me as basically told me he's had feelings for me all along but only knew how to express it thought his teasing."

Abel sits there with a frown on his face, "For real?"

I nod.

"Why would he tell you this so suddenly?"

"He wants me to give him a chance. Which I obviously said no too." I quickly add once I see Abel's nose fearing in frustration.

"What kind of idiotic stunt is that?" He grumbles out. "The next time I see him I'm gonna-"

I interrupt his rant before he can continue otherwise he'd go on forever.

"Abel listen, I'm with you and I only want to be with you okay? You have no need to worry but I wanted to tell you so that you at least know."

Abel takes a deep breathe and nods at me before grabbing my hand to place a soft kiss on my palm.

"Now, back to your Christmas present." I reach into my bag beneath my seat and take out the wrapped gift.

"I have yours as well. You know you really didn't have to get me anything, I just had my birthday." He states.

"I know but it's Christmas! And I wanted to get you something." I shove his present to him giddily, thinking about what I got him. I hope he finds it funny because I sure did. I honestly laughed for a good ten minutes straight when it arrived. I am hilarious.

The first gift is a bottle of cologne that I thought he would like because I like it. It reminds me of his natural scent; homely and masculine.

"Thanks babe, I've been meaning to buy a new one but I never got round to it." He leans forward and plants a sweet kiss on my lips.

He then moves on to the second present and I have to physically bite my lip to stop the laughter that's threatening to escape.

"Is this a shirt? How did you even know my size?" he asks.

He still hasn't seen whats on it yet.

"Oh, I just guessed." I giggle slightly and then cover it up with a cough when Abel shoots me a quizzical look.

He lifts it up and holds in front of him before blinking a few times. I'm no longer able to hold in my laughter as it all bursts through at once.

"I-is this your face?" he questions.

Since I still haven't stopped laughing, I struggle to form a coherent response. I got him a plain white shirt with a massive picture of my face smiling widely.

Underneath the image are words that say 'This face makes me crazy' and then on the back is a collage of my mini faces that make up one big face with 'she's so beautiful' beneath it.

"I just thought that since you're practically always saying how beautiful my face is and how you wish you could look at it all day every day, I could just get you a shirt with me on." I giggle slightly and focus my eyes on his face to see his reaction. Isn't this a good present though? Like, how funny am I? I think it's hilarious how I've put my face on a shirt; I never thought I would do that but here I am.

"Honestly? I actually really like it. Now, I can actually look at your face all the time. I'll even wear it to sleep and it'll almost be like you're there with me." He says sweetly.

My eyes soften at his words and tone of voice, "I'm glad that you do. It's a little bit funny though right?" I ask.

Abel lets out a small chuckle and shakes his head, "Yeah it is. Only you would do something like this."

"I'll take that as a compliment then."

Abel then reaches into the back seat and takes out a gift bag and hands it to me. I take out a small navy blue box and open it to find a silver bracelet inside.

"It's a charm bracelet. You can add more charms on whenever you feel like but I've already put some on for you." He points to a small silver plane, "This one represents where we first met. I had the privilege of laying my eyes upon the most beautiful girl I had ever seen and who would play a large role in my life." He then focuses on the bold letter K, "K for Keziah obviously." Next, he points to a yin and yang charm, "This represents how we come from different backgrounds and places yet we fit together so well; like yin and yang." Finally, he gently picks up the small heart with a little gem on it, "This one is obvious. You have my heart."

I look up to meet Abels gaze and I'm shocked to see the amount of tenderness and adoration flowing in those blue depths.

"Why are you crying Brown Eyes?" He asks worriedly.

I touch my fingers to my cheeks and find tears flowing down in streams down my face, "I didn't realise I was. That was just the sweetest thing I have ever heard and it just means a lot to me that you would get something with so much meaning behind it." I cup his face in both my hands holding his head in place as I press my lips against his.

Abel wraps his arm around my waist and lifts me up to straddle his legs. He grips my thighs tightly and pulls me even closer to him to deepen the kiss even further. I graze my teeth along his bottom lip, nibbling and then sucking to soothe the slight pain until he shivers and starts massaging my thigh in bold, possessive strokes. Abel's tongue darts out to brush the seam of my lips before plunging into my mouth to perform a dance with my own. I run my hands through his silky, curly locks and tug on it like I usually do pulling out a deep guttural moan from his throat that sends vibrations along my body. Heated shivers spread through every vein like sweet and viscous honey until I felt the warmth ignite my whole body, curling my toes and sending butterflies soaring within my stomach.

I pull back from him and rest my forehead against his allowing him to cup my cheeks, "I'm so completely and utterly obsessed with you." He whispers.

I lean forward to brush our noses together allowing our breathes to mingle with each other.

Abel glances out the window for a second as his eyes light up in excitement, "It's snowing!"

I follow his gaze to find snowflakes falling from the sky at a rapid pace, "No way! Come one, let's go!" I shout.

Immediately, I forget about our intense make out session and jump out of the car. I twirl around and throw my arms out while giggling happily. I open my mouth and stick my tongue out in a childlike manor to catch some of the white fluffy snowflakes falling around me. All of a sudden, Abel comes up behind me and lifts me up by the waist to spin me around. He places me down gently and reaches into his pocket to grab his phone; he presses a few buttons before putting down next to us.

Ed Sheerans song 'Give me love' starts blasting out as Abel places his hands on my hips to pull me close. I wrap my arms around his neck and smile tenderly, "What are you doing?" I ask.

"Dancing. Just follow my lead." He responds.

I mimic Abels steps, moving forward when I need to and moving back when I need to. We start swaying together, our eyes never leaving each others as if committing this exact moment to memory. Abel twirls me around and pulls me abruptly towards him causing my hands to land against his chest. I take the opening and kiss him right there but break apart before he can deepen it further.

"It's so good with you baby." Abel says to me.

I smile affectionately at him before wrapping my arms around his torso and pressing my head against his chest. Being this close means I can hear the sound of his heart beating rapidly showing how affected he is by one simple action.

Abel starts singing the lyrics underneath his breath, almost low enough that I nearly miss it.

"Give a little time to me or burn this out

We'll play hide and seek to turn this around

All I want is the taste that your lips allow

My, my, my, my, oh give me love."

The soft yet husky sound of voice relaxes me and makes me feel at home. The words wash over me, sending tingles throughout my body. His voice is truly amazing and there is no where else I'd rather be right now.

"I should take you home now Brown Eyes. It's getting late and I don't want you catching a cold." Abel says.

I nod at him but don't disagree since I am feeling pretty cold right now.

We head back into his car where he drives me home in silence but with soft glances thrown my way. When we arrive, he walks me up to my front door and places a soft lingering kiss on my lips before waving goodbye. He waits until I'm fully inside the house before driving off.

Since it's late, I decide to wait until tomorrow to talk to my parents and instead head straight to my room. I change into my pyjamas and do my nightly routine before jumping into bed.

You know when your whole body is bursting with such an extreme amount of excitement and you can't do anything about it except squeal and giggle? Yeah, that was exactly how I felt today; the warm feeling begun in my toes before reaching the top of my head forcing out ridiculously large smiles and unattractive laughs from me. It's safe to say that it was definitely a good day.

A/N:
Abel is clearly quite a sentimental guy with such a thoughtful gift like that. What do you think he was going to say before he cute himself off? I think that was pretty obvious.
