Chapter 2

Six Years Later
Castiel's POV

I was up early, again. I was always up early. I could ever hardly sleep. Not after Dean. I was used to having him pressed up against me. His arms wrapped around me in a warm embrace that I could have stayed in forever.

Senior year we both turned 18 and moved in together. It may have seemed like we were moving too fast, but we were in love. We bought a cheep little apartment in the middle of town. That place was my home. Until death plagued it.

After he died I moved back in with my parents. I couldn't stand being there. I couldn't stand a lot of things after that. I couldn't stand old cars, leather, the color green, or even crappy diner food. All of them made me sick. They were all reminders of something I had lost. Something I would never get back.

After he died, Dean technically gave everything to me, but I just couldn't do it. I took some of his clothes. A few sweatshirts and that stupid leather jacket he always wore. I gave the rest to his dad. That included the Impala. I know how much he wanted me to have it, but I just couldn't do it.

Surprisingly I graduated that year. My grades dropped but not by enough for it to matter. After that I tried to keep myself on track. I went to Boston University. It was hard, moving into a room meant for two. They heard about Dean and what happened, and let me go without a roommate. Four years later I graduated with an art degree.

After college I moved down South. I couldn't stay in Boston, because that wasn't part of the plan. Dean and I were going to move away from that place and get a fresh start. So that's what I did.

I ended up Florida. Some small town called Dunedin. I'm the art teacher at the high school now. The kids think I'm great because I'm 24 and fresh out of college. According to them I'm not lame like the old teacher who was some lady in her seventy's.

Now I'm settled down. I don't plan on moving away, I kind of like it here. I have a nice little house, a good job, and I even got a cat. Dean and I had always wanted a cat. Well, I always wanted a cat and he just wanted me to be happy.

My cats name is Bee. I found him outside my dorm room late one night and took him in. That two person room just felt too big.

Now I'm just content, I guess. Sometimes I still feel that dull ache though. I told his corpse I would move on, but I just couldn't do it. I tried dating a few times, but it never worked out. None of them were Dean, and none of them could ever be him.

I flopped out of bed and went downstairs wearing nothing but a bath robe and my bee slippers. I made myself some tea and sat down in my window seat. As soon as I sat down Bee was spread out across my lap.

I was enjoying my peace and quiet. That is until the phone began ringing.

I answered it, putting the phone up to my ear, "Hello, this is Castiel."

"Heya Cassie!" My brother Gabriel's voice sang through the phone.

"Hey Gabe, what's up?" I sipped my tea, why was he calling?

"Oh you know, just driving your way." He sounded somewhat confused. Why exactly was he coming to Florida?

"What?! Are you coming here?" I looked around my house. There was crap everywhere. I was still postponing spring cleaning from last year.

"Cassie , don't tell me you forgot. Remember you invited me to stay for a few days." He sounded disappointed. But I did do that didn't I.

"Shit, sorry Gabriel. Don't worry I'll be ready when you get here." I cringed at the thought of tackling this mess.

"Alrighty, see ya around like four." Crap, that's in eight hours and I have to clean everything.

"See you then." I hung up the phone and set my tea down. This was going to be a long eight hours.

I started in the guest room where I hoarded most of my crap. The majority of it was random stuff from garage sales, and markets I had visited. It didn't take long to throw away most of what was strewn all over the room. Then I changed the sheets and moved on.

I tackled the living room next. I collected the styrofoam cups from the local coffee stand that I visited almost every day. Then I swept up all of the cat hair, and moved some stacks of ungraded papers to my bedroom, where I hopefully will grade them later.

Next was the kitchen. Dishes weren't the issue. I had three plates, three sets of silverware, three cups, and a few pots and pans. That's all I've ever need. The real issue in the kitchen were the stacks upon stacks of papers.

Some of them were students assignments, bills, and other assorted things from everywhere. I started by organizing everything into neat piles. Now all I had to do was find out where to put all of these papers.

My thoughts were cut off by a soft knock on the front door. I checked my watch. It was only two, Gabe couldn't possibly already be here.

They knocked a little louder, "Who is it?" I yelled as I made my way to the front door.

"FBI, please open the door sir," a gruff voice answered.

FBI? What did they want with me?

I peered out he peep hole. A man stood outside with his badge held up, hiding his face. The badge looked real. I sighed and unlocked the door.

As I swung the door opened I heard and crash and saw Bee standing on the kitchen counter pushing stacks of paper off the surface.

"Shit, Bee no, stop!" I ran towards my asshole of a cat without even getting the door open all the way.

I didn't even hear as the door opened them closed as the unnamed agent entered my house.

I was trying to gather he papers spread all over my floor when the man spoke again, "I'm agent Plant with the FBI, I need to ask you a few questions."

I knew that voice, but from where. I finally turned around and stood up.

I looked directly into the mans eyes and dropped the papers I had just cleaned up.

I knew that voice, those eyes, that perfectly sculpted face, that spiked dirty blonde hair. All of that was mine once.

I gulped and inhaled deeply before letting out one strangled word, "Dean...?"

Hey-o!! So I don't even know what to say here. I'm writing this on Christmas Eve, but I doubt I'm publishing it then so... Anyway, vote, comment, follow me, other stuff. Hopefully post again next week!!
