Chapter 10
Dean's POV
I sped through traffic breaking too many laws to count. It had been almost five minutes since I had gotten Sam's text. Five minutes in which anything could have happened. He could be hurt, or dead, or jut gone.
I barely slowed the car as I turned the corner into the motel parking lot. The car ended up crooked in three parking spots. The first thing I noticed was the lack of a door on our motel room. I could see shards of the destroyed door scattered everywhere. The next thing I saw was the blood. I don't know whose it was, but it was everywhere. It painted the sidewalk a deep red and splattered the side of the building. There was smoke coming from inside the room. Sam and the dragon were nowhere to be seen.
"Dean, what the hell..." Cas. I forgot he was with me. His eyes were wide and fear covered his features. His fingers on his left hand dug into my right knee while his right hand clutched the door frame.
I reached out pulling his terrified eyes away from the gore. "Stay in the car."
He nodded quickly and I flung my door open, ready to hop out. "Dean." His voice was stronger this time but still quiet. Cas grabbed my shirt pulling me into him. Our lips connected and I savored the taste of him. "Come back to me." He said when he let me go.
"I will." Then I was gone. I popped the trunk and grabbed the dragon blood sword along with a few daggers. My hand went to my belt to make sure my gun was still there before I slammed the trunk and moved cautiously towards the motel.
The blood covering the side walk outside the door was darker. Most likely dragon, but I couldn't be sure. "Sammy!" I called out, hoping he would answer back and be fine.
Instead there was a loud crash as a body was thrown through the window next to the motel door. The body crashed down in a mess of massive cuts and burn marks. You could hardly tell if it was a person anymore. But I knew exactly who it was.
"Is that who you're looking for." I spun around to face a large dark haired man. He had talons in place of finger nails and his eyes were snake-like. He had a few cuts on him where the skin seemed to be knitting itself back together.
I glanced over my shoulder at Sam who was unconscious but I could still see his chest rising and falling. At least he was alive for now.
I turned back to the dragon. I slipped my gun out from my waistband slowly while taking a careful step towards him. "You hurt my brother." He chuckled at my statement. He didn't seem as afraid as he should be, considering what he did. "You should be more afraid of me."
"Cocky now, aren't we Winchester." He laughed again. "I was told you were dangerous, but I like to find things out for myself."
He took a step forward and I pulled my gun, my pointer finger hovering over the trigger.
"Feisty, I like it." My finger dug into the trigger. Once, twice, three times. Each shot hit him around the middle of his chest. He stumbled back slightly before regaining his posture. He took a shaky step forward, then another less shaky step.
His bullet wounds seemed to heal quickly. Within seconds he was only a few inches away. His right hand began to glow and I could feel the heat radiating off of it. He slowly brought it up to my arm. It was an inch away from making contact with my arm, and I could feel the skin burning and bubbling. Then in one swift movement I retrieved the sword from my belt loop and plunged it into his chest. He shrieked before crumbling to the ground.
My next move was to get to Sammy. I landed on my knees next to him. He was still breathing, but he was also hurt pretty bad. Long gashes ran down his chest and his arms had burns on them. He was covered in smaller cuts from the window glass. He stirred when I tried to move him. Then he sat upright and his eyes were wide.
"Gabe," his voice was scratchy and he struggled to push the word out. His now alert eyes were searching.
"Shit! Is he here?" He and Sam must have reconnected like Cas and I did. They were pretty close too. I had forgotten about Sam's loss when we left town.
I sprung up and moved inside the motel room. Sam must have fought hard. Darker red dragon blood was mixed into the splatters of what I assumed was Sammy's blood.
I heard whimpers from the closet and quickly flung the door open to find Gabe. He was curled up against the back wall. His face hidden in his knees. He was making whimpering sounds, like he was an injured puppy.
"Please don't hurt me." He didn't look up. He most likely thought I was the dragon.
"Gabe..." His head whipped up at the sound of my voice. His face was wet with tears and his nose was running.
He looked behind me in fear and worry. "Is he dead?"
Gabe slowly stood up and moved towards me. "Sam's okay. He going to be fine." He sagged in relief and moved out of the closet.
"Did you..." He gulped unable to finish his question. He still seemed unsure of the hole monster thing.
"Yes I killed it." I turned to leave the room Gabe in tow.
I froze in place with his next three words, "Both of them?"
Hey-o! So I'm back with an update. I know its kind of short and the rest will be posted hopefully by the end of the day or at the latest tomorrow. I think this book is about over, only like 3-4 more chapters I think. Also comment whether or not you think I should write a prequel to this about how they met in high school. I don't think I'll write a sequel, but I would consider a prequel if its what you guys want! Please comment if you want one, if not say so and you guys can vote on which AU I write next!
