|Ch.5

Even before Akira could slay the spider monster, a sudden Earthquake made him lose his balance. He fell not being able to balance himself. Everyone had paused for a moment with the sudden change of the situation. Even the spider was confused.

The earth under the Spider monster cracked open swallowing him completely!

Kumo widened his eyes. His mind only uttered one thing. Another Sun warrior!

Luca fell onto the ground out of nowhere. The spider webs were cut open by a sharp object like a dagger. Luca took a large sum of oxygen, trying to control his breathing. He looked up to see a boy standing next to him. His breath was caught on his throat seeing his savior. His one and only bully, Lewis Williams.

Akira widened his eyes. The person who saved them was the last person he expected to come to right now. Nevertheless, Izumi looks pleased to see him.

Kumo gritted his teeth. He extended his arm but even before he could release his spiders, his arm was cut off by his elbow. His glare went to Izumi who had just cut off his arm. His arm had landed on the rooftop behind Izumi.

Izumi was about to initiate another attack but was blown away by a strong wind. When she opened her eyes, a large spider was behind him. No, not one, five spiders in a row! They had come out from the cut-off hand! If Luca didn't save Izumi on time, her heart would have been pierced by a tentacle.

Luca put Izumi on the ground safely and turned to Kumo and his spiders who were still on the rooftop. Kumo was hissing in pain. He immediately rushed to his cut-off hand extended his half arm. With spider webs, he rejoined his arm! It seems like those webs had special powers like rejoining broken parts??

"It seems like another warrior had found his way to his highness. Tsk, how annoying. Doesn't matter, as long as I can take back his highness", Kumo looked at his spider monsters. "Go my sons! It's a feast tonight! hahaha"

Akira looked at his sister. She could fight on her own. And Luca, he had the wind power while Lewis had his own whatever the power. But what does he have? Will he be the feast tonight?

He felt utterly useless in front of them. He was startled when Luca and Lewis stood in front of him. Even both of them were startled by their own actions. It was their body reacting before their minds. Their bodies immediately put themselves before Akira.

Izumi looked at Kumo.

"Izumi, you can go", Luca's voiced out. "He's yours to deal with. We'll protect Akira"

Izumi didn't need to look back. She slew the first spider monster before jumping on their bodies and landing on the rooftop again.

Kumo tsked seeing Izumi again. His eyed went to both Luca and Lewis who were protecting Akira with their powers.

"I've never heard of you before. Who are you?", Kumo was genuinely curious about Izumi. He could easily recognize the three teenagers but the girl was a special case. "You are a worthy opponent  I've met. It would be a pleasure to know you"

Izumi was standing motionless with her two swords. Her aura wasn't second to a king almost giving shivers to Kumo.

"You don't need to know me. If you had the chance, you can ask the afterlife judges once I killed you"

Kumo, "Hahahaha!! You are so funny. Let's see who is gonna meet the afterlife judge fast"

Meanwhile, Akira was sitting on the ground feeling empty. He looked at Lewis who was creating craters on the earth to trap the spiders inside it. Luca was slamming the Spiders inside the craters. His nose was bleeding with the strength he's using.

Akira looked at his own hands and looked at the dead bodies of his parents which were kept beside the house. Why am I weak? I –I can't even avenge my parents. What's the point of protecting me?

Then he remembered Kumo's way of addressing him. He called him 'Your highness'. Is this happening because of me? Did my parents die because of me?

It seemed like Lewis's appearance lowered his remaining self-esteem. He was hiding behind their protection. The incident burned down his ego to crumbles. He sat there emotionless.

"Akira! Watch out!"

Luca's voice snapped him out of his dazed thoughts. Just as he raised his head, he was met up with a large tentacle that was not even an arm's length away from his face. His breath was caught on his throat.

Izumi widened her eyes and looked at her brother. The distraction gave an opportunity Kumo which he gladly accepted. He made his palm into a knife-like structure and was about to pierce right through her chest.

Everything stopped.

No one moved.

Akira's chest heaved up and down, still not realizing what had just happened. He blinked a few times only to see the paused tentacle in front of his face.

Akira immediately stood up. It was all too familiar. It had happened to him on the same day! He gulped hard before stepping away from the spider and looked around.

Luca was still in a pose of screaming at him while Lewis was staring at a spider in front of him with wide eyes. His eyes went to Izumi. And that's when he saw the same teenage boy he saw in the morning, next to Izumi.

But what took his attention was Kumo's hand which was about to pierce through his sister's chest. If the time wasn't stopped, then both Enatsu siblings would have joined their dead parents.

The teenage boy held Kumo's wrist stopping the hand from going through Izumi's chest. His other hand flickered two fingers and everything came back to normal.

But Kumo's hand was in a tight grip, not letting him move his hand. He was startled, suddenly seeing the teenager. It was beyond imagination to see a mere teenager holding Kumo's hand like that. Even Izumi, Lewis, and Luca were in shock.

The teenager slammed Kumo to the roof tiles like a sack of potatoes. Kumo was in disbelief. For a moment, he felt like his breathing stopped with the impact. He looked at the teenager's reddish-orange irises. The fear he felt couldn't be described in words.

"Leave"

That's all it took to Kumo to retract right away. He immediately crawled back. His spiders stopped moving.

"T –This can't be! You can't —!", He stammered in disbelief.

"Well, here I am", The teenager shrugged his shoulders.

"You can't harm me!", Kumo stood up fixing his glare on the teenager. "Afterlife judges are prohibited from harming —"

"There are always rebels, Kumo", Teenager gave him a small smirk, daring Kumo to continue. "I don't think I need to tell you what I can do. Right?"

Kumo still stood on his guard not moving an inch. His gaze went to Akira who was watching them already. Clenching his jaw, he eyed the teenager again.

Teenager chuckled. "I dare you to harm his highness in front of me Kumo"

There was an eerie atmosphere surrounding the teenager. He wasn't a mere boy. Right now, anyone could have already guessed it. His threats weren't empty. Solid and firm.

Gritting his teeth, Kumo summoned his all spiders to his arm and they all became tattoos on his arm. He turned around but looked at Kumo from the corner of his eyes.

"Horus, don't be too cocky. My master will come to you one day. Be ready to be your own judge of death"

The teenager smiled. "You already recognized me. What a pleasure. Safe trip to home Kumo. Tell your master that I'll be waiting to be one of his judges"

Kumo's face twitched but didn't say anything. He jumped over the rooftop. Soon, his figure was on top of a giant blackbird. The blackbird was a crow which was Kumo's vehicle to go home. He looked back muttering to himself, "I'll be back your highness. Enjoy the rest of your life"

The teenager looked at Izumi who was looking back at him with a blank expression. He bowed a little. This time, the teenager wasn't being sarcastic. His bow was sincere and genuine. Then he looked down to see the three boys. The teenager was about to speak when Lewis exploded in anger.

"YOU! YOU FREAKING BASTARD! YOU ALMOST KILLED ME!"

Luca, "Y –You know him?"

Lewis scoffed.

The teenager answered for him. "I just lead him here. Don't be mad warrior, I meant no harm. If I didn't provoke you, would you be coming here willingly?"

"...of course no", Lewis answered still keeping his glare on the boy.

The teenager smiled in acknowledgment. His gaze went to Akira. "We meet again, your highness", he jumped down from the rooftop and landed right in front of Akira. "Let me introduce myself"

Akira stared at him blankly.

"Afterlife judge, Horus,greets his royal highness"
