V didn't want to leave. Call it whatever you want but he just didn't want to leave his mate. It was rather unusual for a lone wolf to actually crave company, a pack but that was what V wanted.

Maybe it was because V was forced to become a lone wolf. Or maybe it was because V had to become a lone wolf in order to save his human and himself.

Today though, V had wanted to just stay by his mate. The mate bond that had started to form when he had his mate by his side for those few minutes was paining, it was hurting him to stay away from his mate. Especially when he had just met him.

But V had to leave. He couldn't break his promise.

Especially since it was the first time his human had actually spoken in years, only to ask V to keep his promise that he had made 10 years ago.

'Remember your promise V. You can't stay.', his human had spoken when his mate had asked him to stay.

The human had not uttered a word during the whole encounter with their mate. He hadn't acknowledged their mate even. The only time the human had spoken was when Jungkook had asked them to stay.

V knew why his human was scared of staying in a pack. He knew why his human made the decision to give him control years back. But right now, he couldn't understand if his human wanted his mate or not.

'Human. Don't you want mate?', V gently asked his human, hoping he would answer.

His human was more active after the whole mate ordeal. V could feel him at the back of his head.

'I do', came a short reply.

'Then why didn't you stay Taehyung?', V asked.

'Don't call me that V. And we can't stay because we can't let what happened 10 years ago happen again. We can't hurt Mate and his pack', his human replied back.

'I'm sorry for using that name human. What happened back then won't happen again. I promise. You know we are stronger now. We have control', V tried again to convince his stubborn human.

'Even if we have control, what makes you think mate will want us. Especially after he finds out about what happened. We can't risk anyone knowing about us. You know that. Just by going to the pack house, we have let them know that a trueblood exists. We can't make that mistake. Let's hope they don't let the news spread.', V knew his human was pissed. Well, he kinda did fuck up. He was a lone wolf for a reason. His human gave him control for a reason. It was to keep them safe.

'Please human. I have faith in mate. He will not leave us. It wasn't our fault what happened back then. Please. Let's give this a chance, ' V was sort of pleading now, the desperation quite clear in his voice.

His human side was a stubborn fucker. His human or Taehyung, which was his proper name, had always been hard headed.

Though,now he can't even call his human by his real name. Taehyung had left his name, his pack and every other thing that was connected to his past behind and he never looked back.

10 years passed but his human still held to his guilt, still refused to forgive himself and still refused to admit that he had infact, never let go of the past. That he was still holding on it.

V knew his human can feel his emotions. Can feel just how much he was hurting having to stay away from his newly found mate. A new mate bond was fragile. It needed time to fully form. And that means having to stay with your mate.

'V... I... Fuck. I know you want your mate. I know how important he is for you. So just because of that, you can go back to him. But I will not come out V. You know that. I can't risk him knowing who I am. I'm sorry for this. You know why we are hiding. If mate knows who we are, then he can be in danger. We cannot allow that. We need to protect him. I....I need to protect him.', His human's voice came out, sounding so vulnerable.

V will never blame his human. No matter what happened. He knew why Taehyung thought like this. He knew the reasons. So he accepted the apology and thanked him.

Since he had his human's permission, he planned to go back soon. Ofcourse it was going to be difficult to communicate with his mate since he was in wolf form, and even harder to stay with his mate in wolf form, but he was sure they can find a way.

Atleast his human was kind enough to accept the mate bond. V knew his human wanted their mate as well. He could feel the need from his human. But his human was scared. Scared of being judged. Scared of rejection. Scared of getting attached and then being left alone. His human was scared of losing his mate. He was scared that his past will put their mate in danger.

His human was a good person. A good soul. It was just the circumstances and the past which made his human's heart harden.

V wished he could fix it somehow. He wished so badly. He knew part of the reason his human was like this was because of him. What happened years ago had been his fault. But his human never blamed him. Always told him that he did the right thing. That during those circumstances, he was just doing his duty. His human didn't blame V but instead blamed himself. His human carries a lot of guilt.

Though V was happy about one thing. His human was finally talking to him. 10 years of silence and finally, his human was responding. That made V very happy.

The human was his bestfriend. Their bond was strong. His human understood and respected him, just like V respected and understood his human. They were one. And that made them so powerful.

We are coming mate. Wait for us. V spoke in his head, knowing fully well his human was listening.

Time to go hunting.

Jungkook stayed at the same spot where his mate left him for 2 hours. Just sitting on his knees, staring at the vast forest. If he could, he would have followed the trueblood but he knew he couldn't. It wasn't actually a matter of if he could. It was more like his responsibilities prevented him from going after the trueblood.

He couldn't leave his pack alone. His pack which was looking up to him as a future leader. His pack which was family.

He hoped the trueblood understood.

His father came up behind him and placed a gentle hand on his shoulders.

'Son. I know you must be hurting. But it's going to be alright. I'm sure your mate will come back. Have faith in the mate bond. The moon goddess chose you two as mates for a reason', Junghwan said in a gentle tone.

Jungkook nodded slowly. He knew the trueblood will come back. He had faith in the matebond.

'Dad. Don't let anyone know we found a trueblood. Order the pack members to keep it a secret', Jungkook said as he turned to look at his father.

Junghwan was confused. It would be an honor for them to announce that Jungkook was bonded to a trueblood. So his son's request perplexed him.

'Why son? Aren't you proud to be mates with a trueblood?', he asked.

Jungkook looked down sadly.

'You have no idea how proud I am dad. Having such a rare and high rank as my mate. But that's not the reason for my request.'

'Then what is the reason Jungkook', his father asked as he sat down right beside Jungkook.

'My mate. He is feral, yes but he is also a lone wolf. Because he is feral, that means he must have been in his wolf form for a long time. How is it possible that no one knew that there was a trueblood in Korea? It's either my mate doesn't want anyone to know or some other reason. But whatever it is, I don't want his secret to be out yet. He gets to decide if he wants anyone to know about his rank. Let him choose.', he explained.

Junghwan looked deep in thought. He understood what Jungkook meant. The trueblood had only emitted his dominance when he was challenged, otherwise he had seemed just like a regular alpha. There must be a good reason why the trueblood is hiding. And Junghwan wasn't going to let anything fuck this mate thing up for his son. Just being Jungkook's mate made the trueblood family, so Junghwan was going to do everything to protect him. Though, the trueblood didn't exactly need his protection. One alpha command from the trueblood was enough to bring all wolves of every rank down to their feet. The trueblood was indeed the most powerful wolf. His son was truly blessed.

'Alright. I will have the meeting now. And don't worry. I will give everyone the alpha command so that no one crosses the order. You need to go and rest Jungkook. Sitting here and waiting won't bring him back. You need your energy for whenever he comes back. He is a feral and lone wolf. You will need to help him to change back into his human form. It won't be easy. Plus being a lone wolf will make it harder since he hasn't being in contact with anyone for goddess knows how long. You need to have all the energy you can get,' Junghwan explained to his son who was looking so broken.

'Okay dad. I'll go back now.', Jungkook responded as he stood up. He gave one last look to the vast forest, before turning around and walking back to the packhouse.

How Jungkook wished to have his mate by his side. But its okay. He will do whatever it takes to get his mate's human side out.

He will not let his mate go when he comes back. He will not lose his mate when he has just found him.
