The Royal scientist

(Y/n) and Frisk saw a big laboratory standing in front of them. "Whoa." (Y/n) said. Frisk opened the door and she followed her into the building. They looked around as they walked through the hallway. Soon a yellow monster with glasses walked out from one of the doors and turned around. She looked almost like a Simpsons character. Her eyes widened as she saw the two girls behind her. They smiled and waved. She starts to panic. "Oh, my god! I didn't expect you to show up so soon! I haven't showered, I'm barely dressed! It's all messy! And..." "whoa, calm down!" (Y/n) said. She quickly turned to face them. "Um... h- h- hiya. I'm Dr. Alphys. I'm Asgore's royal scientist! B- but, I'm not one of the "bad guys" actually, since you all stepped out of the ruins, I've been, observing your journey through my console." She said. "Oh! So you're the one who set up those cameras." (Y/n) said. She nodded nervously.

"Um, yes. I've seen your fights, your friendships, everything! I was originally going to stop you guys, but... watching people on a screen really makes you root for them." She said. "S- so, uh... now I want to help you! Using my knowledge, I can easily guide you through Hotland! I know a way right to Asgore's Castle, no problem!" She said. Frisk and her sister lit up. "Really? You can do that?" Frisk asked. "That's awesome, Alphys!" (Y/n) said. She blushed a small bit out of shyness and continued. "Well, actually, um, there's just a tiny issue." She said. (Y/n) and Frisk looked concerned.

"What's wrong?" (Y/n) asked. "A long time ago, I made a robot named Mettaton. Originally, I built him to be an entertainment robot, uh, you know, like a robotic tv star? Anyway, recently, I decided to make him more useful, you know, just some small practical adjustments." She trailed off. She sweat dropped nervously. "Like uh,.. anti... anti human combat features?" She asked. "Oh great." (Y/n) said. "O- of course, when I saw you two coming, I immediately decided I have to remove those features." She said. "Did you?" Frisk asked. "Well, uh..." she said. "I'm going to take that as a no." (Y/n) said. "Well, unfortunately, I may have made a teensy mistake while doing so. And um, now he's an unstoppable killing machine with a thirst for human blood?" She said.

She then chuckled nervously. "But um, hopefully, we won't have to run into him." She said. "I am most definite that we're going to run into him." (Y/n) said. Suddenly they felt shaking in the building. "And here he comes." (Y/n) said. They began bouncing off the floor from the shaking. "Oh no." She said. Suddenly they heard a robotic voice. "OH YEAH! Welcome beauties!" They turned to see a square looking robot with two arms, his right hand holding a microphone. "TO TODAY'S QUIZ SHOW!" He announced. He tried his best to sound energetic, but couldn't due to his robotic voice.

Suddenly disco balls hung from the celling and confetti was thrown everywhere. "Oh boy! I can already tell it's gonna be a great show! Everyone give a big hand for our wonderful contestants!" Mettaton said. Another spotlight showed on the girls and the robot clapped for a moment. "Never played before? No problem, it's simple. There's only one rule. Answer correctly. Or you die!" He approached the two. "Let's start with an easy one! What's the prize for answering correctly?" Suddenly different answers appeared below. A: money, B: mercy, C: new car, and D: more questions. "Uh... um..." (Y/n) said as she tried to figure it out. What they didn't notice was Alphys making a D shape with her hands, giving them the answer from behind the robot. "Is it mercy? Ow!"

(Y/n) yelped as she got zapped. "Hey!" Frisk glared at the robot. "Sis, wait!" Frisk pointed toward Alphys. "Oh... is it... D?" (Y/n) asked. "Right! Sounds like you get it!" Mettaton said. "Here's your terrific prize! What's the king's full name?" They saw more answers below. A was Lord Fluffybuns, B was Fuzzy Pushover, C was Asgore Dreemurr, and D was Dr. Friendship. "Asgore Dreemurr!" Frisk said. "Correct! What a traffic answer! Enough about you, let's talk about me! What are robots made of?" They looked at the next choices for answers. A: hopes and dreams,

B: metal and magic, C: Snips and Snails and D: sugar and spice. "You forgot the and everything nice part for the D." (Y/n) got zapped again. "Ow! What the hell! I didn't even get the answer wrong!" She snapped as she glared at the robot. "That was a lame joke, so I shocked you anyways." Mettaton said. Frisk snickered. "You know, if you're just going to shock me for random reasons I'm not going to play your stupid games." Mettaton then constantly began to zap her. "Ow! Ow! Ow! Okay! Okay! Fine! Just quit it!" (Y/n) shouted. Mettaton stopped zapping and (Y/n) huffed and crosses her arms. "It's metal and magic." Frisk answered. "Too easy for you, huh? Here's another easy one for you." Mettaton moved aside and they gasped at how long and far the next question was. It was impossible to read it.

"D!" (Y/n) said as she saw Alphys giving away the answer again. "Wonderful! I'm astounded, folks! Don't count on your victory. How many flies are in this jar?" Then a jar with too many flies to count appeared. "A!" Frisk said. "Correct! You're so lucky today! Let's play a memory game! Okay, what monster is this?" Then half of a monster appeared on screen. "D." (Y/n) and Frisk said, which was Mettaton for an answer, even though the half looked like the frog monster from before.

"I'm so flattered you remembered! But can you get this one? Would you smooch a ghost?" And each answer for this was the same; heck yeah. "HELL YEAH!" (Y/n) shouted. "Great answer, I love it! Here's a simple one. How many letters in the name Mettaton?" Then the n at the end began to expand. "Hey, that's not fair!" Frisk complained. "Ow!" She was zapped. "Stop being a baby. Time to break out the big guns. In the dating simulation game "Mew Mew Kissy Cutie" what is Mew Mew's favorite food?" Mettaton asked. This one got Alphys excited as she began to wave her hands in the air. "OH OH! I KNOW THIS ONE! IT'S SNAIL ICE CREAM!" She shouted. (Y/n) and Frisk tensed and looked at her and the robot with fear as she had just given away her position.

"Alphys... Alphys... Alphys... you aren't helping our contestants, are you?" Mettaton asked in a scolding manner as she began to shake her head quickly in denial. "OOOOOOH! You should have told me! I'll ask a question, you'll be sure to know the answer to. Who does Dr. Alphys have a crush on?" He asked. "Uh... perhaps it's Undyne?" Frisk asked. She hid her face and blushed. "See Alphys? I told you it was obvious. Even the humans figured it out. Yes, she scrawls in the margins of her notes. She names programming variables after her, she even writes stories of them together. Sharing a domestic life." He said. "You write fan fiction?" (Y/n) asked her. "Probability of crush: 101 percent.

Margin of error, one percent." Mettaton said. "Well, well, well, with Dr. Alphys helping you, the show has no dramatic tension. We can't go on like this. But this was just the pilot episode. Next up, more drama, more romance, more bloodshed. Until next time, darlings." Mettaton then turned into a rocket and flew away. "Looks like Mettaton is blasting off again." (Y/n) said, causing Frisk to laugh. "Well... that was... certainly something." Alphys said shyly. "Yes it was, Alphys. We all found out who you like." (Y/n) said teasingly, causing her to blush. "Alphys and Undyne, sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" (Y/n) teased.

"Real mature, (Y/n), real mature." Frisk said sarcastically. "That last question. H- he wasn't supposed to a- ask that one." She stuttered. "Well, let's go. We should probably get out of here before that psycho comes back." (Y/n) said. "Yeah. The last thing we need is another person trying to kill us." Frisk said. They began walking toward the exit. "W- wait!" Alphys ran toward them. "L- let me give you my phone number! Then maybe if you need help I could um..." She then looked down and saw Frisk's phone. "Wh... where'd you get that phone? It's ancient! It doesn't even have texting! W- wait a second, please!" She took her phone and quickly ran off. They heard a bit of construction noises and a high pitched scream, which startled (Y/n), then she ran back. "Here, I upgraded it for you." Alphys said as she gave Frisk her phone back. "Wow, thanks Alphy." Frisk said. Alphys chuckled nervously. "N- no problem. It can do texting, items, it's got a key chain, I even signed you up for the underground's number one social network! Now we're officially friends!" She laughs awkwardly. Then there's a short awkward pause.

"I'm going to the bathroom." She quickly runs away. Once they walked outside, they heard a buzzing sound. Frisk took out her phone. "Just realized I didn't watch Undyne fight the humans." They heard Alphys say. "It's just Alphy. She's updating her status." Frisk explained. "Oh." (Y/n) said. A few steps later she updated again. "Well I know she's unbeatable. I'll ask her about it later." "She does realize we can hear her updates, right?" (Y/n) asked, and Frisk shrugged. After riding on some moving stairs, Alphys updated again. "Gonna call them in a minute." She said. "Who is she talking to?" (Y/n) asked, and Frisk shrugged.

"There's probably other monsters on that website that follow her. So she's giving them updates." She explained. After a few more minutes of exploring, there was another update. "I HATE USING THE PHONE I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS! LMAO." "So does she want to help or not?" (Y/n) asked. "She wants to. She's just nervous. She'll come through eventually." Frisk said. "How long is eventually?" (Y/n) asked. Then they got another update. "OMG, I've had my claw over the last digit for five minutes. Omg, I'm just gonna do it! I'm just gonna call!" "That's the spirit, Alphy." (Y/n) said. "Oh wait. She's calling!" Frisk said as she took out her phone, but then it stopped ringing. "Never mind. She hung up." Frisk said.

Then it rang again and Frisk answered it. "U- uh... hi! So, the blue lasers-" they stopped and turned to the right to see orange and blue lasers floating above. "Uh, I mean, Alphys here! Hi!" She said. "Hi!" Frisk said. "So, uh... the blue lasers won't hurt you if you don't move. O- orange ones um, you have to move. And they um... they won't... move through those ones." She said. "What?" (Y/n) asked in confusion. "Uh... bye." She quickly hung up. "What was she trying to say?" (Y/n) asked. "No idea." Frisk said. Then she updated again.

"OMG, I DID IT! Claws haven't shook like that since Undyne called me to ask about the weather!" "Well, should we try to get past anyway?" (Y/n) asked. "I guess we have to." Frisk said. "Sis, you stay back until I figure this out." (Y/n) said. Frisk nodded and stepped back. (Y/n) took a deep breath and closed her eyes as she walked through two orange lasers. Then she opened her eyes. "Oh! I get it! We can walk through the orange ones, but we have to stay still for blue ones." She explained. "Oh!" Frisk said. Then Alphys updated. "WAIT! THERE'S NO WEATHER DOWN HERE! WHY DID SHE CALL ME?!" (Y/n) waved to Frisk. "Okay, you can follow me now. But be careful."

Frisk nodded slowly and walked through the two orange lasers. Then they stood still for the blue laser. They carefully moved through the rest of the lasers. Frisk reached for the switch at the end. "Wait!" (Y/n) shouted, but she had already pulled it, causing the lasers to deactivate. "Oh." (Y/n) said. "Omg, I forgot to tell them where to go!" Alphys said. "Thanks Alphys." (Y/n) said sarcastically. Soon they reached another puzzle with arrows and that's when Alphys called back.

"Alphys here! The... the northern door will stay locked until you s- solve the puzzles on the right and left! I- I think you sh- should g-g- go to the right first!" She hung up. (Y/n) and Frisk noticed the arrows moving in different directions. "Okay, so we just have to wait until this arrow goes to the left." (Y/n) informed. They waited a few seconds. "Now!" They jumped on the arrow and it pushed them to the left. "Wonder if it would be unfun if I explained the puzzle." Alphys said. Then they walked into the next room where there was a small puzzle. Frisk approached the puzzle. "Allow me." She effortlessly finished the puzzle. "Wow, way to go, sis." (Y/n) said. Frisk chuckled. Then they used the arrows to go to the left and Alphys called them again.

"Alphys here! That blue laser seems totally impassable! B- but as the royal scientist I h- have some tricks up my sleeve! I'll h- hack into th- the Hotland laser database and take it out!" She turned off the laser. "Wow. Impressive." (Y/n) said. "In we go!" Frisk said as they walked into the next room. "Do you want to solve this next puzzle?" Frisk asked. "I'll take a crack at it." (Y/n) said as she walked over. "So I have to move them in such a way..." (Y/n) said as she took a few minutes to figure it out. Then she used the arrows to move to the front to the giant door. The two doors opened and they walked in. "Whatever! I'll just explain it!" Alphys said. "Uh... hey! About the puzzles on the left and right!-" "we did them already." (Y/n) said. She was surprised. "Uh... really? You already solved them? Awesome!"

She quickly hung up. After a few more arrows, they made it to a dark room. "Uh oh. Is that robot psycho going to show up again?" (Y/n) asked. "H- hey, it's kind of dark in there, isn't it?" Alphys asked. "Don't worry! I'll hack into the light system and brighten it up!" "You can do that?" Frisk asked, sounding surprised. Then the lights suddenly turned on. "Does that answer your question?" (Y/n) asked. They looked around and realized they were in a kitchen. "Oh no." Alphys said. Suddenly Mettaton appeared from under the counter and waved. "Ugh. Why did I have to be right?" (Y/n) asked in dread. "We're lucky it doesn't happen often." Frisk said. "OH YES! Welcome beauties to the Underground's premiere cooking show!" Then words appeared that said "cooking with a killer robot!"

"Oh joy." (Y/n) said. "Preheat your ovens because we've got a very special recipe for you today!" Mettaton said. "Let me guess, is it us?" Frisk asked. "We're going o be making... a cake!" Mettaton said. "Ooh! I love cake!" (Y/n) said. "I don't think it's the kind of cake you're thinking of (Y/n)..." Frisk said. "My lovely assistants here will gather the ingredients! Everyone give them a big hand!" Mettaton said. Mettaton began clapping as rainbow confetti dropped on them. "We'll need sugar, milk and eggs. Go for it, sweethearts." He encouraged. Frisk found the ingredients on the other side of the room and brought them over. "Perfect! Great job! We've got all of the ingredients we need to bake the cake! Milk! Sugar! Eggs! Oh my! What a magnificent moment! How could I forget? We're missing the most important ingredient!" Mettaton said. He then took out a chainsaw. Their eyes widened. "Human souls." He said. He then began to move toward them. "Dude!" (Y/n) said fearfully. Then the robot's phone rang.

"Hello? I'm kind of in the middle of something here." Mettaton said. "W- wait a second! Couldn't you make a... couldn't you use uh... couldn't you make a substitution in the recipe?" Alphys asked. "A substitution? You mean, use different non-human ingredients? Why?" He asked. "Uh... what if... someone's... uh... vegan?" Alphys asked. "Vegan?" Mettaton asked. "That's a brilliant idea, Alphys! Actually, I happen to have an option right here! MMT brand always has a convenient human soul flavor substitute! A can of which, is just over on that counter!" They turned and saw a random counter on the far left with a single can. "Well, darlings, why don't you go get it?"

Mettaton asked. "What's the matter? Not a can fan, that's too bad. MMT brand uses only the freshest artificial ingredients and chemicals." They walked over to the counter, and (Y/n) was about to grab the can, until suddenly the counter began going higher. (Y/n) gasped in surprise and fell back. But before she could hit the floor Frisk caught her. "Whoa." (Y/n) said as Frisk helped him up. "Hey!" Frisk shouted. "Sorry but our show runs on a strict schedule. If you can't get the can in the next one minute we'll just have to go back to the original plan!" Mettaton said. "You really just want to see us die, don't you?" (Y/n) asked. "Better get moving." Mettaton taunted. He then flew away.

"Oh no! There's not enough time to climb up! F- fortunately, I might have a plan! When I was upgrading your phone, I added a few features. You see that huge button that says, jet pack?" Alphys asked. "Wait, what?" Frisk asked. Suddenly a jet packed formed. "Whoa!" (Y/n) said. "So, who should go up there and get the can?" Frisk asked. "I'll do it." (Y/n) said. She put on the jet pack and flew higher. Mettaton then flew above and dropped eggs toward her. Frisk gasped. "Watch out!" She shouted. (Y/n) tried her best to dodge them. Eventually she reached the top. "My, my. It seems you have bested me. But only because you had the help of the brilliant doctor Alphys. Oh, I loathe to think of what would have happened to you without her." Mettaton said. "I'm sure." (Y/n) said sarcastically. "Well, toddles." Mettaton flew away. But then came back. "Oh yes, about the substitution, haven't you ever seen a cooking show before? I already baked the cake ahead of time." Mettaton said.

"You're kidding..." (Y/n) and Frisk said. "So that whole thing..." Frisk added. (Y/n) flew back down and gave Frisk her phone back. "Wow! We- we did it! We really did it! Great job out there, team!" Alphys said. "Well, uh, anyway, let's keep heading forward!" Alphys said. They walked out of the room to see a large red building in the distance. "S- see that building in the distance? That's the CORE. The source of all power for the underground. It converts geothermal energy into magical electricity." She said.

"Cool!" Frisk said. "Anyway, that's where we're going to go. In the CORE, is an elevator directly to Asgore's castle. And from there, you can go home." Then she hung up. They approached an elevator and got on. After taking the elevator, they saw Sans again. "Sans!" (Y/n) said happily. They walked over to his post. "Hey, buddies! What's up? Any of you want a hot dog? It's only 30G." "I'll have one!" (Y/n) said. "Coming right up." Sans prepared his hot dog, then gave it to her. "Here ya go, kid." He said. "Can I buy more?" (Y/n) asked. "Sure, thing, buddy." Sans said. "Oops. You're holding too much. Guess I'll just put it on your head." Sans put the hot dog on her head. She and Frisk giggled a little.

"Can I have another one?" (Y/n) asked. (Y/n) kept getting more until she had a tower of hot dogs on her head which tilted a little every time she moved. Frisk was laughing and Sans snickered. "Oops!" (Y/n) said as she pretended to fall and the hot dogs fell all over the place. Frisk and Sans were cracking up at this point. "I want to do that, too!" Frisk said. "Sure thing, kid." Sans stacked some hot dogs on her head too. Frisk giggled. "I'm the hot dog princess!" She declared playfully. (Y/n) laughed a little. "Would you like another one, your majesty?" She asked as she hands Frisk another hot dog. "Okay, let's go. We can do some more goofing off later." (Y/n) said afterwards. Frisk followed (Y/n) as she continued walking. "Huh? What's a random apron doing here?" Frisk asked as she picked it up.

"I guess someone lost it." (Y/n) said. "I'll hold onto that." She said. Frisk gave it to her and (Y/n) put it in her pocket. "H- hi. It's Doctor Alphys. This... puzzle is kind of um... timing based. You see those switches over there? Y- you'll have to press all three of them within three seconds. I'll- I'll try to help you with the rhythm!" Alphys said. "All right, stay here, I'll take care of this." (Y/n) said. (Y/n) quickly slid across and quickly pushed the first two, then was about to press the third one until Alphys interrupted and (Y/n) missed, and fell down on the other side. "Alphys!" She scolded. "Okay, now press the third one!" She said. "I was just about to and you ruined it!" (Y/n) said. Frisk chuckled. "Relax. I'll do it." She slid across and tried to push it, but slid past it. "Huh. It didn't work." She said. "What?" (Y/n) asked. "O- oops. I forgot that you only needed to push two of them." She said. "That's the last time I try to help with a puzzle. Lmao." Alphys then called again.

"Uh- h- hey! I'm going to the bathroom so I'll be MIA for a bit. I'm... I'm sure you guys can handle this next puzzle yourselves." She said. (Y/n) jumped over each arrow until she reached the other side. Then she waved at Frisk, telling her to follow. Frisk followed her steps to the other side of the puzzle. "Hey you guys! Stop!" They quickly turned around to see two giant guards with armor on walking toward them. "Is there a problem?" (Y/n) asked cautiously. "We've, like, received an anonymous tip about two humans wearing striped shirts. They told us they were wandering around Hotland right now. I know, sounds scary right?" One of them asked. (Y/n) chuckled nervously. "Y- yeah. Sure does." She said. "Anyway, just stay chill. We'll bring you someplace safe, okay?" The other asked. "Uh... no thanks. We're good." Frisk said. "Wait a minute." "Huh, what is it, bro?" The other asked. "The shirts they're wearing." "Like, what about them?"

The two guards turned toward them and they tensed. "Bro, are you thinking what I'm thinking?" "Bummer. This is like, mega embarrassing. We like, actually totally have to kill you and stuff." (Y/n) slowly hid Frisk behind her. "You won't lay a hand on her." "Like team attack!" "Team attack!" The two shouted. (Y/n) and Frisk quickly dodged their attacks. "Hey, is it just me or do they look a little... worn out?" Frisk asked. They looked at the two guards who were panting heavily. "You're right. Maybe we should go easy on them." (Y/n) said. "Can't take it! Armor too hot!" The guard on the right took off part of his armor. Frisk noticed the one on the left looked bothered about this. "Are you okay, dude?" She asked awkwardly. The guard just laughed nervously. "Y- yeah. I'm fine." They send another attack, but this one was much easier to avoid. (Y/n) tapped Frisk on the shoulder. She turned around.

"What's wrong, sis?" She asked. "You know, if you ask me, I think the other one is in love." (Y/n) whispered. Frisk's eyes widened and she looked back to the guard on the left. "Oh." Frisk walked over to him. "Stay back, I got this." Frisk walked over to the other guard and whispered something. The guard looked even more uncomfortable. He looked back at the other guard. "D- dude! I can't! I can't take this anymore!

Not like this! Like, 02, I like, like, LIKE you bro. The way you fight. The way you talk. I love doing team attacks with you." (Y/n) and Frisk giggled at this as they thought it was adorable. "Aw." Frisk said. "I like standing here with you. Bouncing and waving our weapons in sync. 02, I like, want to stay like this forever." (Y/n) and Frisk waited anxiously for him to answer. "Uh... I mean... uh... psyche! Gotcha, bro! Haha!" The guard said, and (Y/n) face palmed. "Oh god..." "01..." 02 said. "Yeah?" 01 asked. "Do you want to... get some ice cream after this?" 02 asked. "Sure dude!" 01 said. "Yay!" Frisk cheered loudly. Soon they walked into another dark room. "Oh no." Frisk said. "Guess who?" (Y/n) asked sarcastically.

"Okay! I'm back! A- another dark room? M- my hacking skills have got things covered!" The lights switched on and Mettaton showed up. "Long time no see psycho robot." (Y/n) greeted. "Are you serious?" Alphys asked. "Oh yes! Good evening beauties and gentlebeaties! This is Mettaton! Reporting from MTT news! An interesting situation has arisen in eastern Hotland! Fortunately, our correspondents are out there, reporting live! Brave correspondents! Please find something newsworthy to report!"

Mettaton said. "I'll give you something newsworthy!" (Y/n) shouted as she held up her fist, but Frisk quickly grabbed it. "Ah! Ah! Ah! Violence is never the answer, (Y/n)." She said. "Tell that to the robot who's been trying to kill us since we got here!" (Y/n) shouted. "Our ten wonderful viewers are waiting for you." Mettaton said. (Y/n) snickered. "What the heck is this?" Frisk asked as she saw some paper on the ground. "Oh no! That movie script! How did that get there? It's a super juicy sneak preview of my latest guaranteed not to bomb film. Mettaton the movie! XXVIII starring Mettaton!" Mettaton announced.

"I've heard that like the other films it consists mostly of a single four hour shot of rose petals showering on my reclining body. Oh! But that's not confirmed! You wouldn't (cough) spoil my movie for everyone with a promotional story, would you?" Mettaton asked. "Attention, viewers! Our correspondents have found a movie script! Oh my! And it looks like it's from my latest film! Let's not keep them waiting! Let's open it up and get the scoop!" Mettaton said.

"Wait a minute... why would you want to spoil your own movie?" Frisk asked suspiciously. "Hey, where's that beeping coming from?" She asked. "Frisk get away!" (Y/n) shouted. They stepped back and saw a bomb. "It's a bomb!" Frisk shouted. "Oh! What's that inside the script? That ticking sound! That lit fuse! Looks like I was wrong about the movie!" Mettaton said. "And it's about to blast you to bits." They looked at the bomb in horror. "But don't get too excited! You haven't even seen the rest of the room yet!" Mettaton said. "Are you serious?" (Y/n) asked in disbelief as they looked around to see a bomb in every corner. "Oh my! It seems everything in this area is actually a bomb!"

They looked around the room in panic. "That dog's a bomb, the basketball's a bomb, even my words are!" Suddenly they fell out from the box above toward them. "Holy shit!" (Y/n) shouted. "Look out!" Frisk shouted. They quickly dodged them. "Brave correspondents, if you don't defuse all of the bombs..." he then flew up to a big pink one. "This big bomb will blow you to smithereens in two minutes!" Mettaton said. "Then you won't be reporting "live" any longer." He said. "How terrible! How disturbing! Our nine viewers are going to love watching this!" He said. "Nine? What happened to ten?" (Y/n) asked. "Good luck, darlings." Mettaton then flew away. Frisk's phone rang and she picked it up. "D- don't worry! I installed a bomb defusing program on your phone!"

They looked at each other with confusion. "Wait. Why would you-" (Y/n) began. "Use the defuse option when the bomb is in the defuse zone." Alphys said. "Now, go get em." She hung up. "Frisk, you wait until I'm done. I can use the app on the phone." (Y/n) said. Frisk nodded. "Got it." She waited as (Y/n) went to each bomb and disabled them. (Y/n) defused the dog, the basketball, the moving glass of water, which was kind of hard to get, since it kept moving away, so she ended missing it a few times as she tried to grab it, defused the gift, and defused the timer. "Great job! There's only one left in the bottom right!" Alphys said.

"The bottom right?!" (Y/n) and Frisk asked frantically, looking in that direction. "I got it!" Frisk said as she quickly ran to the script. Frisk disabled the last one. Mettaton flew over. "Well done darlings! You've deactivated all of the bombs! If you didn't deactivate them, the big bomb would have exploded in two minutes. Now it won't explode in two minutes. Instead it will explode in two seconds!" Mettaton said. "What?!" Frisk asked. "Goodbye, darlings." Mettaton said. (Y/n) quickly ran toward it. "Ah. It seems the bomb isn't going off." "That's because while you were monologuing I... fix... fix... um... I.... Ch.... Changed...." "Oh no! You deactivated the bomb with your hacking skills!"

Mettaton said. (Y/n) and Frisk sighed in relief. "Y- yeah! That's what I did!" Alphys said. "Curses! It seems I've been foiled again! Curse you, humans! Curse you doctor Alphys for helping so much! But I don't curse my eight wonderful viewers for tuning in." Mettaton said. "Until next time, darlings." He then flew away. "Wow. We really showed him, huh?" Alphys asked. "Yeah We did!" (Y/n) cheered. "H- hey, I know I was king of weird at first, but I really think I'm getting more.... Uh... more confident about guiding you. So don't worry about that big dumb robot. I'll protect you from him. And if it really came down to it, we could just turn... never mind. Later!" "Turn him off?" Frisk asked. "I don't think she heard you." (Y/n) said.

"Let's get out of here." Frisk said. They left the room. As they began walking again, (Y/n) noticed that Frisk was pretty quiet. They entered an elevator and when they came out, they walked into a room where a spider was selling baked goodies. "Oh. It's the spider bake sale." (Y/n) said. "Ooh!" Frisk eagerly walked over and looked at the items. "Aw." She walked back disappointed. "What's wrong, sis?" (Y/n) asked. "The stuff was too expensive." She said. "Oh come on. It couldn't have been that bad." (Y/n) walked over and her jaw dropped when she saw the prices. One spider doughnut was 9999G. "Holy crap."

She said as she walked back. "You were saying?" Frisk asked. "Yeah, yeah." (Y/n) said. They continued into the next room where there was another arrow puzzle. "Hi, Alphys here! This room is like the room we saw before! There are two puzzles to the north and south! You'll have to solve them both to proceed! A- also, I'd like to say, I don't really like giving away puzzle solutions, but if you need help, just call me, okay?" She asked.

Frisk followed (Y/n) through the puzzle, and let her do the next two puzzles. After getting past a few more lasers, Alphys called again. "Hey, um, this doesn't have anything to do with guiding you, but, um, hey... would you want to watch a human tv show together sometime? It's called um, Mew Mew Kissy Cutie." She asked. "Sure!" Frisk said. "Of course!" (Y/n) said. "R- really? It's so good! It's um... my favorite show! It's about..." suddenly she started to talk about the show way too quickly for them to understand. "Whoa! Whoa! Slow down! You're going a mile a minute here!" (Y/n) said. "Well, I uh... I almost spoiled the whole show, but I think you guys would really like it. We should watch it together after I help you through all this." She said. After one more puzzle, (Y/n) noticed another star and touched it. "The smell of cobwebs fills the air... You're filled with determination."

They entered a dark hallway and looked around cautiously. Suddenly they heard a small laugh and Frisk hid behind (Y/n) as they looked around. A tiny spider slides down and (Y/n) screams. "Did you hear what they just said? They said humans wearing striped shirts will come through. I heard that they hate spiders. I heard that they love to stomp on them." "Okay, who's been telling you guys this?" Frisk asked suspiciously. "If they're talking about me, I do hate them but I don't like to stomp on them!" (Y/n) whisper yelled. "Shh! Don't let them hear you say that!" Frisk snapped.

"I heard, that they like to tear their legs off." She said. "And I definitely don't do that!" (Y/n) said. Frisk shushed her again. "I heard..." "(Y/n)...." Frisk said. "Yeah? What's wrong?" She asked. "Don't move." She said firmly. "Why would I..." she looked down and saw a spider on her and screamed. "Don't worry, I got it!" Frisk went to go forward, but realized she couldn't move and looked down to see her legs in spider webs. "Hey, what's going on?" She asked. Frisk frantically looked at her sister as she was being captured by the spiders and wrapped in spider webs. She quickly looked to the leader who was coming down. "That they're awfully stingy with their money." The spider said. "Only when a simple donut is over 9,000!" (Y/n) shouted. (It was over 9,000!) "Please, if it's money you want I'll give you all I have! Just leave her alone!" Frisk pleaded. "It's too late for that, dearie. Her taste is just what our next batch needs." She giggled. "No!" Frisk shouted. "Frisk!" (Y/n) shouted worriedly.

Frisk looked back to see her sister has been lifted up by the other spiders and trapped in a web. She turned back to the spider who she now saw her name which appeared to be Muffet. "Stop it! Stop it!" Frisk begged. "Don't look so blue, my deary." She sent purple liquid toward her soul and her red soul turned purple. "She's purple now?" (Y/n) asked. "I think purple is a better look on you! Ahuhuhu!" Muffet said. "Be careful, Frisk!" (Y/n) shouted. Frisk struggles to escape the web she's trapped in so she can help her sister. "Why so pale? You should be proud."

Muffet said. Then other spiders came toward her and she quickly dodged them. Muffet ties up the web around her. "Don't hurt her!" (Y/n) shouted angrily. "Or else what? Your empty threats won't do you any good you know." Muffet smirked. The spiders make her web tighter and she grunts. "Okay... that's really tight." She said. "Stop! Stop! Here! Just take it!" Frisk shouted as she gave Muffet some money. "You should be proud that your sister is going to make a delicious cake." Muffet said. This time the spiders moved toward her soul faster but she still managed to avoid them. "I got some more money if you want it, Muffet!" Frisk offered.

"Oh! How rude of me! I almost forgot to introduce you to my pet! It's breakfast time isn't it? Have fun, my pet!" Muffet said. Frisk gasped as a giant creature came toward her sister. "What is that thing?!" (Y/n) asked. Frisk had a hard time dodging the spiders this time as her gaze was more focused on her sister. "Stop... you can't do this!" Frisk shouted. "Oh I think I can. The person who warned us about you two..." Frisk gasped as the attacks got faster and she was hit a few times. "Offered us a lot of money for your souls." Muffet said as she fired another attack. "They had such a sweet smile and ahuhu." She said. "Who is she talking about?" (Y/n) asked worriedly. "It's strange. But I swore I saw them in the shadows. Changing shape?" She asked. "Changing shape? Who..." (Y/n)'s eyes widened in realization. "Flowey!" "Oh it's lunch time isn't it? And I forgot to feed my pet." Frisk gasped as the monster moved closer to her sister. "St- stay back from me you freak!" (Y/n) shouted.

"With that money, the spider clans can finally be reunited!" Muffet declared. Frisk struggles to escape again. "You haven't heard? Spiders have been trapped in the ruins for generations!" Muffet informed. "I- if you don't hurt my sister I promise I'll try and help you!" Frisk shouted. Muffet scoffed. "Help me? Oh please. You can't help me. You can't help any of us. Even if they go under the door, Snowdin's fatal cold is impassable alone." Muffet pointed out. "But with the money from your SOULS, we'll be able to rent them a heated limo~ "And with all of the leftovers...? We could have a nice vacation~ Or even build a spider baseball field~"

(Y/n) watched in fear as Muffet kept attacking Frisk. "That damn spider is going to pay when I get out of here!" (Y/n) shouted. After a few more attacks, a tiny spider came to Muffet with a telegram. "Huh? A telegram from the spiders in the RUINS? What? They're saying that they saw you two, and... ... even if you are stingy, you never hurt a single spider!" She said. "Seriously? You're just figuring this out NOW?!" (Y/n) shouted. "Oh my, this has all been a big misunderstanding~ I thought you were people that hated spiders~ The person who asked for your SOULS.. They must have meant DIFFERENT humans in a striped shirt~ Sorry for all the trouble~ Ahuhuhu~ I'll make it up to you~ my pet, I'm sorry but you cannot eat that human. I'll make it up to you later." The monster looked disappointed and walked away. "That thing was going to eat me?!" (Y/n) asked.

The spiders then released Frisk and (Y/n). "You can come back here any time... And, for no charge at all... I'll wrap you up and let you play with my pet again!" (Y/n) cringed and stepped back, stepping behind Frisk. Muffet chuckled. "Ahuhuhuhuhuhu~ Just kidding~ I'll SPARE you now~" (Y/n) quickly ran out and Frisk followed her. "(Y/n)!" She said. "Are you okay?" She asked. (Y/n) was hyperventilating. "Calm down, (Y/n). It's okay. You're safe now." Frisk said as she pat her on the back gently. "S- sorry, Frisk. I... I just got so afraid back there. I... I thought..." (Y/n) hugged Frisk and she hugged her back. "It's okay, it's over." She said.

"Well, if you are ready to continue..." Frisk said. "I am." (Y/n) said. They walked into the next room and (Y/n) turned to see a poster of Mettaton. "Oh boy." (Y/n) said. "What is it?" Frisk turned to see what she was looking at, then sighed. "Well, we know what this means." She said. "Oh? That human..." they looked up and saw Mettaton peaking out from above.

"Could it be?" He then fully reveals himself wearing a blue dress. "Is... is he wearing a dress?" Frisk asked. "My one true love?" Mettaton asked. "Uh..." (Y/n) said. "Which one of us is he talking about?" Frisk asked. "And her little sister." Mettaton said, referring to Frisk. Then music began to play as he walked down the stairs. He approaches (Y/n) and starts to sing. "Oh my love." Frisk looked at him in shock and disbelief. His singing also sounded robotic, so it also sounded as if it had no emotion. "Please run away. Monster King. Forbids your stay." They cringed at his singing voice. "Ugh. That voice." Frisk said as she covered her ears. Mettaton continued singing. "Humans must. Live far apart. Even if it breaks my heart." Suddenly pink petals began flying in the air. "They'll put you, in the dungeon. It'll suck. And then you'll die a lot. Really sad. You're gonna die. Cry. Cry. Cry. So sad it's happening."

Mettaton sung. "That is the worst acting I have ever seen." Frisk said. Then the music stopped and he began talking. "So sad. So sad that you are going to the dungeon." Mettaton said. "Well, Toodles." He took out a device and pushed the button, sending them to a floor below. "Ouch." Frisk said. They stood up and Mettaton flies down. "Oh! Whatever shall I do? My love has been cast away into the dungeon! A dungeon with a puzzle so dastardly, my paramour will surely perish!" Mettaton said. They turned to see a familiar puzzle. "Oh no..." (Y/n) mumbled. "Oh! Heaven's have mercy! The horrible colored tile maze!" Mettaton said. "Each color tile has its own sadistic function. For example a green tile-" "wait, wait, wait! We don't need the whole explanation again! We've already seen this puzzle!" Frisk shouted. "Oh yes, my mistake. So you remember all the rules, don't you?" Mettaton asked. "Uh..." Frisk said. "Great. Then I won't waste your time repeating them." Mettaton said. "Oh, and you'd better hurry. Because if you don't get through in 30 seconds..." Mettaton said.

They turned to the other side and saw flames. "You'll be incinerated by these jets of fire!" Mettaton said. "What?!" (Y/n) and Frisk asked. "AHAHAHAHA my poor love! I'm filled with grief! Good luck, darlings." Mettaton said. "Well, I guess we're no longer going to be feeling the love tonight!" Frisk said sarcastically, but her tone sounding panicked. "Nope, but we will be feeling flaming hot fire in about a minute or two if we don't act now!" (Y/n) shouted. "Crap. What do we do? I don't remember the rules!" She said. "Guess, let's just give it a try." (Y/n) and Frisk tried to complete the puzzle, but kept stepping on dangerous tiles. Suddenly the colors on the puzzle turned gray and the puzzle stopped working. "Oh. I'm so sorry. Looks like you're out of time."

"Oh shit!" (Y/n) said as flames surrounded them from both sides. "Here come the flames, darlings." The flames then began moving closer. "They're closing in. Closer. Getting closer. Oh my! Any minute now!" (Y/n) and Frisk got close to each other as the flames came closer. Suddenly they heard a ringing sound. "Watch out! I'll save you! I'm hacking into the firewall right now!" Alphys said. Suddenly the flames went out and they sighed in relief. "Oh no! How could this happen? Foiled again by the brilliant doctor Alphys!" Mettaton said. "That's right, Mettaton! Give up already!" Alphys said. "You'll never be able to defeat us! Not as long as we work together! Your puzzle's over! Now go home and leave us alone!" Alphys said. "Puzzles over? Alphys, darling. What are you talking about? Did you forget what the green tiles do? They make a sound, then you have to fight a monster! Well darling, that monster..." he began.

"Is you?" (Y/n) asked. "Is me!" He then went toward them. The phone rings again. "Is that your phone? You better answer it!" Mettaton said. "H- hey, this seems bad, but don't worry! There's one last thing I installed on your phone! You see that yellow button? Go to the phone's fact option and press it!" Alphys said. Frisk pressed the button. "This is it, darlings. Say goodbye!" Mettaton said. Their souls suddenly turned yellow. "Now we're yellow!" Frisk said. "Now press Z." Alphys said. (Y/n) aimed her soul at Mettaton and used it like a gun.

"Cool!" Frisk said. "Oh. Oh. You've defeated me. How can this be? You were stronger than I thought, etc. Whatever." Mettaton then slides away. "That was it?" (Y/n) asked. "Hey, this might sound strange, but can I tell you something? Before I met you guys, I didn't really like myself very much. For a long time, I... I felt like a total screw up. Like I couldn't do a- anything without... without ending up letting everyone down." Alphys said. "What are you talking about? You've been awesome!" Frisk said. "Yeah. If it wasn't for you we'd all probably be dead by now." (Y/n) said. "Y- you really mean that?" Alphys asked. "Hmm mmm." (Y/n) and Frisk nodded. "Let's face it Alphys, there's no way we would have gotten this far without you." Frisk said. "Yeah. You helped us stop Mettaton with all of those amazing new features on her phone." (Y/n) said. "Aw. Well... thanks for letting me help you. Anyway, we're almost to the CORE. it's just past MMT Resort.

Come on, let's finish this!" "Sweet!" (Y/n) said. "You hear that sis, we're almost there." Frisk smiled and nodded. They soon came to a restaurant and Sans was by the door. "Sans!" (Y/n) said cheerfully. "Hey, I heard you're going to the CORE. How about grabbing some dinner with me first?" Sans asked. (Y/n) blushed a little bit from that, but quickly covered it up and smiled. "With pleasure." She said. "I'm starving." Frisk said. "Great. Thanks for treating me." Sans said. (Y/n) gave him a playful look.

"Treating you? Who said anything about that?" She asked. "You did." Sans said, and (Y/n) rolled her eyes. "Over here, I know a shortcut." Sans said. All of them sat at a table together. "Well, here we are. So, your journey's almost over, huh? Hey, I know the feeling, buddos. Though, maybe sometimes it's better to take what's given to you. Down here you've already got food, drinks, friends, is what you have to do... really worth it?" Sans asked. (Y/n) and Frisk glanced at each other, taking in what he said. Sans turned away from them for a moment, then turned back.

"Ah, forget it. I'm rooting for ya, kids." (Y/n) smiled at him. Sans looked away again for a moment, and (Y/n) could tell he was in deep thought about something, then he turned back to face them. "Let me tell you a story. So I'm a sentry in Snowdin forest, right? I sit out there and watch for humans. It's kind of boring. Fortunately, deep in the forest, there's this HUGE locked door. And it's perfect for practicing knock knock jokes." Sans said, and (Y/n) giggled at that a little. So one day, I'm knocking em out, like usual. I knock on the door and say "knock knock" and suddenly, from the other side I hear a woman's voice "who is there?" (Y/n)'s eyes widened a bit as it sounded like he was trying to imitate Toriel, the first monster she and Frisk had met. "So naturally, I respond: dishes." (Y/n) raised an eyebrow. "Dishes who?" Sans imitated Toriel again. "Dishes a very bad joke." Sans said, and (Y/n) snickered. He got that right. "Then she just howls with laughter. Like it's the best joke she's heard in a hundred years. So I keep em coming, and she keeps laughing. She's the best audience I've ever had." (Y/n) smiled at that.

"Then, after a dozen of em, she knocks and says "knock knock" I say, "who's there?" "old lady!" "old lady who?" "Oh! I did not know you could yodel!" Frisk giggles at that one. "Wow. Needless to say. This woman was extremely good. We kept telling each other jokes for hours. Eventually, I had to leave. Papyrus gets kind of cranky without his bedtime story. But she told me to come by again. And so I did. Then I did again. And again. it's a thing now. Telling bad jokes through the door. It rules." Sans said. "I bet it does." (Y/n) smiles as him, and Sans smiled back.

"One day, though, I noticed she wasn't laughing very much. I asked her what was up. Then she told me something strange. "If a human ever comes through this door... could you please, please promise something?" "watch over them, and protect them, will you not?" Now. I hate making promises. And this woman, I don't even know her name." Sans closed his sockets for a moment. "But..." then opens them. "Someone who sincerely likes bad jokes... has on integrity you can't say "no" to." He winked. Sans looked away from them again for a moment. "Do you get what I'm saying?" He asked. "That promise I made to her...

you know what would have happened if she hadn't said anything?" Sans asked, his tone changing into a darker one, and (Y/n) stiffened. "Buddies..." Sans looked away, then turned back and his sockets had changed, and were all black. "You'd be dead where you stand." (Y/n) and Frisk were both stunned by this, and (Y/n) pulled Frisk closer to her and glared slightly at Sans as Frisk almost looked like she was about to cry. Sans noticed their reactions and immediately went back to his normal demeanor. "Hey, lighten up, buckos! I'm just joking with you. Besides, haven't I done a great job protecting you two? I mean, look at yourselves. You haven't died a single time." (Y/n)'s eyes widened.

A single time? Was it possible to die down here more than once? Sans noticed her reaction. "Hey, what's that look supposed to mean? Am I wrong...?" He asked. "Heh..." he walked over to one of the plants beside the wall. "Well, that's all. Take care of yourselves, kids. 'cause someone really cares about you." Sans walked away, and (Y/n) and Frisk shared a glance. "Well, should we continue?" (Y/n) asked, and Frisk nodded, and they stood up from the table and walked out. They walked into the next room in the hotel, and (Y/n) noticed a small shop and decided to check it out. "Welcome to MTT-Brand Burger Emporium, home of the Glamburger. Sparkle up your day (TM)."

The cat said. Frisk and (Y/n) looked at the options to choose from. Which were Starfait, which looked similar to a smoothie, Glamburgers, which were purple hamburgers, Legendary Heroes, which were long sandwiches, they reminded (Y/n) of the ten dollar foot long sandwiches from Subway. And the last item was steaks in the shape of Mettaton's face. "We'll take some of these, please." (Y/n) said as she chose multiple Glamburgers. "Thanksy! Have a FABU-FUL day!!!" He said. Frisk and (Y/n) reeled back in surprise. "Whoa!" Frisk said. "What is with that face?!" (Y/n) asked. Frisk noticed the cat's name. "Burgerpants?" She asked, and the cat nodded. "Is that your name?" (Y/n) asked. "Yup." "Why do people call you that?" Frisk asked.

"One day, I went out to the alley to see these two ladies, and uh... you know, see what'd happen next. ... Then my boss, uh, saw me and asked me what I was doing. I was so startled, the hamburgers in my pockets tumbled out onto the ground. Not wanting to lose face, I scrambled to pick them up! But, as I was leaning over, the weight of the remaining hamburgers... ... caused my pants to fall down. Then the girls laughed at me. Everyone calls me Burgerpants now." He said. Frisk chuckled, and (Y/n) and Frisk walked out of the hotel and Frisk noticed a piece of paper on the ground and picked it up. "What's this?" She read it.

"It says we should go down there." Frisk pointed to a red arrow that was pointing to a dark alley. "Yeah. 'Cause that isn't suspicious at all." (Y/n) said. They walked down the alley and they see an alligator next to a purple cat. "I'm Bratty, and this is my best friend, Catty." The alligator said. "I'm Catty, and this is my best friend, Bratty." Catty said, then the two laugh. "You know, luring people out by writing a suspicious looking note and telling them to meet you in a dark alley, probably isn't the best way to get costumers." (Y/n) said. "Well, we like, don't really care what you have to say." Bratty said. "Yeah, because, we like, have been doing this forever and it's always worked for us." Catty said. "Okay... what do you guys even sell?" Frisk asked.

"For your information, our things are like wicked expensive." Bratty said. "But, like, this stuff we found is like... TOTALLY wicked cheap." Catty said. "So you're just ripping people off?" Frisk asked. "Like, why does it matter to you?" Bratty asked. "Exactly. What we do is like none of your business." Catty said. "Well, like, I totally couldn't care less because I'm like totally leaving now." Frisk mocked their voices, then walked away. Bratty scoffed. "What a loser." She said. "Like, she's totally a loser." Catty said. "Hey!" (Y/n) said, then walked after her sister.

They walked behind the building and saw two figures walking away. "Huh? Who are they? Nobody else is supposed to be here. Oh well! We can't worry about that now." Alphys said. They walked over to the big elevator at the end of the hall. "Ready? This is it. Take the elevator up to the top of the core." Alphys said. But instead Frisk walks in another direction. "Hey, sis! Where are you going?" (Y/n) asked. "We should really listen to Alphys!" (Y/n) said as she followed her. "H- hey, why don't you try and use the elevator first?" Alphys asked. Frisk kept walking forward. "Frisk, wait!" (Y/n) followed her. Then they walked through a door and turned to see something blocking their way. "Looks like you can't proceed until you hit the switch! B- but, those lasers will activate when you do!

Um... looks like they'll come in this order: Orange, orange, blue. Got it? Move until the third one!" Alphys asked. (Y/n) sighed. "Okay. I'll handle this one." She goes for the switch and Frisk panicked. Suddenly the lasers came forward and hit her. (Y/n) grunted as she flew back. "(Y/n)!" Frisk shouted as she ran toward her. "Ugh." She grunts as Frisk helps her up. There were a few cuts on her body. "Are you okay?" Frisk asked. "Yeah. Great." She said sarcastically. Alphys called again. "Oh my god! Are you hurt?" She asked. "Sort of." (Y/n) said.

"I'm so sorry. I... I gave you the wrong order!" She apologized. "Everything's going to be fine, okay? L- let's just keep heading to the right." She said. She called again once they reached the next room. "A... crossroads? Uh... uh... try heading to the right." They came to another bridge with more lasers and Alphys called again. "M- more lasers? Okay, I... I won't mess around this time. I'll just deactivate the lasers and let you guys through." They waited, but nothing happened. "Uh... Alphys?" (Y/n) asked. "They're... they're not turning off! I can't turn them off!

I... I... it... it's okay! I have this under control! I'm going to turn off the p- power for that whole node. Then you can walk across." The power turned off and the lasers stopped. "Okay, now go!" She said. They began walking down the bridge. Alphys called back. "W- wait! Stop!" Suddenly the power came back on and they were surrounded by blue lasers. "Uh oh." Frisk said. "Th- the power! It's turning itself back on! D- damn it! This isn't supposed to... I... I'm gonna turn it off again. When it turns off, move a little, and then stop!" She informed. "Okay? You won't get hu- hurt." They moved quickly each time the power went out, and stopped each time it came on. They did this until they reached the other side of the bridge.

"Whew." (Y/n) said. "That was close." Frisk said. "S- see? I've got everything under control! Everything's under control!" Alphys said. They then walked forward. "Okay! I think you should.... You should... I don't know! This doesn't look like my map at all! I'm sorry. I... I have to go." She quickly hung up. "Uh oh. Are we lost?" Frisk asked. After crossing another bridge, they walked into a dark room. They kept walking forward until they saw Mettaton in the center. "Mettaton!" (Y/n) said. "Oh yes, there you are, darlings.

It's time to have our little showdown. It's time to finally stop the "malfunctioning" robot. Not! Malfunction. Reprogramming. Get real." He said. "What?" (Y/n) asked in confusion. "What're you talking about?" Frisk asked. "This was all just a big show. An act. Alphys has been playing you both for fools the whole time. As she watched you on the screen, she grew attached to your adventure. She desperately wanted to be a part of it. So she decided to insert herself into your story. She reactivated puzzles, she disabled elevators, she enlisted me to torment you two. All so she could save you from dangers that don't exist." Frisk and (Y/n) were shocked and heartbroken to hear this. "You're... you're kidding." Frisk said. "So... all this time... guiding us, helping us with the lasers, the directions, her advice, none of that was... real?"(Y/n) asked.

"You're lying!" Frisk shouted. "Am I? Just think about it. How did she always know what to do in every situation? Why did she install such detailed apps onto her phone?" Frisk and (Y/n) looked at each other, but felt conflicted, still not fully wanting to believe it. "See? All of this so she could prove that she's something she's not. And now it's time for her final hour. At this very moment, Alphys is waiting outside the room. During our "battle" she will interrupt. She will pretend to "deactivate" me, "saving" you both one final time. Finally, she'll be the heroine of your adventure. You'll regard her so highly she'll even be able to convince you not to leave. Or not. You see, I've had enough of this predicable charade. I have no desire to harm humans, far from it, actually." He said. "Really? You could've fooled me." (Y/n) said sarcastically. "My only desire is to entertain. After all, the audience deserves a good show, don't they? And what's a good show, without a plot twist?" Mettaton asked. "Fair point." Frisk agreed.

"H- hey! Wha- what's going on? The- the door just locked itself!" Alphys said. Frisk and (Y/n) didn't answer her as they looked back at the robot. Lights in the room came on. "Sorry, folks! The old program's been canceled! But we've got a finale that will drive you wild! Real drama! Real action! Real bloodshed! On our new show! Attack of the killer robot! Yes, I as the one that rearranged the core, I was the one that hired everyone to kill you two. That however was a shortsighted plan. You know what would be 100 times better? Killing you myself!" Mettaton said.

"I'd like to see you try!" (Y/n) said. "Listen, darlings, I've seen you fight. You're weak. If you continue forward, Asgore will take your souls. And with your souls, Asgore will destroy humanity." Mettaton said. "I don't believe you." Frisk said as they dodged his attack, which were blocks going toward them. "But if I can get your souls, I can stop Asgore's plans. I can save humanity from destruction." He sent another attack toward them. "What do we do?" Frisk asked as the blocks hit them. "We use our souls to shoot, remember?" (Y/n) asked. "Oh. Right." Frisk said.

"Then using your souls I'll cross through the barrier. And become the star I've always dreamed of being, hundreds, thousands, no, millions of humans." Mettaton said as he sent another attack. They used their souls to shoot the blocks away. "But you're already a star!" Frisk pointed out. "Exactly! Are you even aware how many monsters look up to you down here?" (Y/n) asked. "So what? Those monsters aren't nearly enough." Suddenly Alphys called them. "Uh- uh... I can't see what's going on in there, but... don't... don't give up okay! There's one last way to beat Mettaton!" She said. "How?!" Frisk asked. "It's... um... it's... it's a work in progress, so don't judge it too hard! But... you know how Mettaton always faces forward? That's because there's a switch on his backside!

So if you could... could turn him around um... and um... press the... the switch! He'll be um... he'll be... vulnerable. Well, g... gotta go!" She hung up. "Hey, Mettaton! Look! There's a mirror behind you!" Frisk shouted dramatically as she quickly pointed. Then he turned around and they saw the switch. (Y/n) went and flipped the switch on his back. "Did you... just flip... my switch?" The robot then began to move frantically. "What's happening?!" Frisk asked. "Is he gonna blow up?!" (Y/n) asked. Then it suddenly went black. "Oh yes." A deep voice said. Their eyes widened and they looked to see a human like robot walk towards them with lights shining above. "What the?!" (Y/n) asked. "Oh my, if you flipped my switch, that can only mean one thing. You're desperate for the premie of my new body. How rude. Lucky for you I've been aching to show this off for a long time. So as thanks I'll give you a handsome reward. I'll make your last living moments... absolutely beautiful!" His voice had changed and sounded human, and was also much deeper than before.

"Can't wait." (Y/n) said sarcastically. Frisk and (Y/n) looked to the left corner and saw the ratings for the show. "Lights, camera, action!" Mettaton said. "All right, Mettaton! Let's do this!" (Y/n) said. "Hit us with everything you've got! Don't hold back!" Frisk said. "I wasn't planning on it." He then fired an attack toward them. They used their souls to shoot at the attack, which were legs coming toward them. Frisk made a dramatic pose. "Uh sis, what're you doing?" (Y/n) asked. "I don't think this the time for dancing!" "No, it is! See?" Frisk points at the ratings. "We have to try and get his ratings up! That's how we win!" Frisk said. "Oh..." (Y/n) said. "So if anything, it's more of a dance-off than a fight." She said. "Drama! Romance! Bloodshed!" Mettaton fired another attack. Frisk did another pose. "Just follow my lead!" She said.

They looked to the side to see the question. "What do people love most about Mettaton?" Frisk read. "Uh... that he's fabulous...?" She asked. "Ooh! What a great answer!" Mettaton said. "Oh, we can scoff at that audience." (Y/n) said as she looks over their options. "That'll get the ratings up, right?" She asked. "Can I give em the finger?" Frisk asked. They voted for their destruction this turn because of that. "Your essay really showed everyone your hearts! Let me show you mine!" A white heart appeared and sent small lightning strikes toward their souls. (Y/n) grunts in pain as she let some of them hit her soul, the ratings for the show went up.

"Ooh! I'm just warming up!" They dodged mini robots raining down towards them. Frisk and (Y/n) do another dramatic pose. "But how are you on the dance floor?" They gasped as a disco ball appeared above and they dodged multiple lasers coming toward them. The blue ones were fine, but they had to jump over the white ones. "Lights, camera, bombs!" Frisk quickly shot at the oncoming bombs. "Quick, we need to aim at his heart!" (Y/n) said.

"On it!" Frisk said as she aimed her soul at the heart and began firing. "Who needs arms with legs like these?" Mettaton asked. Frisk did another pose as (Y/n) tried to aim for his heart. "Hey, Mettaton!" Frisk shouted. He turned to look at her. "I challenge you to a dance off! Right now! You and me, let's go!" Frisk said. Mettaton smirked. "Challenge accepted, sweetheart." Frisk then began to dance, and so did Mettaton. As the two of them did their dance battle, (Y/n) went for his heart while he was distracted. Frisk did the final hit and defeated him. Mettaton fell, and Frisk and (Y/n) caught him. He looked defeated, until (Y/n) smiled and nodded toward the ratings. This caught his attention as he stood up. "Ooh! Look at these ratings! This is the most viewers I've ever had! We've reached the viewer call in milestone!

One lucky viewer will have the chance to talk to me! Before I leave the underground forever!" Mettaton said. "Let's see who calls in first!" They heard the phone ring. "Hi! You're on tv! What do you have to say on this? Our last show?" He asked. Frisk and (Y/n) watched as he spoke to his fans. "Oh. Hi, Mettaton. I really liked, watching your show. My life is pretty boring, but... seeing you on the screen, brought excitement to my life vicariously. I can't tell, but... I guess this is the last episode...? I'll miss you... Mettaton." The other monster said.

"Oh... I didn't mean to talk so loud. Oh..." they hung up. "No, wait! Wait! Come- they already hung up. I'll take another caller!" "Mettaton, your show made us so happy!" "Mettaton, I don't know what I'll watch without you!" "Mettaton, there's a Mettaton shaped hole in my Mettaton shaped heart." "Oh... I... I see." He said. "See?" Frisk asked. "We told you you were a hit." "Everyone, thank you so much. Darlings, perhaps, it might be better if I stay here for a while. Humans already have stars and idols, but monsters... they only have me. If I left, the underground would lose its spark. I'd leave an aching void that can never be filled. So... I think I'll have to delay my big debut. Besides, you've both proven to be very strong. Perhaps even strong enough to get past Asgore. I'm sure you'll be able to protect humanity. Ha ha. It's all for the best, anyway. Knock em dead, darlings.

And everyone, thank you. You've been a great audience!" Mettaton said. Suddenly Alphys opened the door and came in. "I managed to open the lock! Are you guys..." she gasped and quickly runs to the robot. "Oh my god! Mettaton!" She cried. "Mettaton are you..." she then realized. "Thank god! It's just the batteries! Mettaton, if you were gone, I would have... I would have..." she trailed off. "I mean, h- hey, it's no problem, you know? He's just a robot. If you messed it up, I c- could always... just build another. Why don't you go on ahead?" She asked. They quietly walked out of the room. After a few moments, they heard footsteps behind them and they turned around to see Alphys.

"S- sorry about that. " she said. "Let... let's keep going." They stayed silent as she followed them down the hall. She stopped again. "So... you're about to meet Asgore, huh? You both must be... you must be... pretty excited." They went to the elevator and she panicked. "W- wait!" They turned to face her. "I mean... um... I was just going to... um... say goodbye." She said. They smiled at her. "Goodbye, Alphys. We'll miss you." (Y/n) said. Her eyes widened. Tears formed in her eyes and she ran forward, tackling them in a hug. They were surprised by this, but hugged her back. "I'm so sorry! I lied to you! Human souls aren't strong enough to cross the barrier alone! It takes at least two human souls, and a monster soul! If you want to win, you'll have to take his soul. You'll have to... kill Asgore." They stood frozen, processing her words. They gave each other uneasy looks before looking down at Alphys who was still hugging them. "I'm sorry." She jumped out from their arms and ran away. "Alphys!" Frisk called after her, but she left. There was a stunned silence among them.
