-Chapter Twenty-Four-
"Tell me again how you convinced me to do this?"
"Because I promised, and you love me. It's not my fault I got sick."
"Sure," Chara teased,"but how can I know you didn't get sick on purpose so you didn't have to do this?"
"Chara!"
"I'm kidding, Frisk. Of course I'll do it, but I won't enjoy it."
"That's fine. Just tell them what it was like when you fell. Might wanna leave out the part about killing humans though."
"Right. Well, I guess I'd better go."
"Okay. If give you a kiss, but I don't want you to get my germs."
"Please do."
Frisk giggled, and Chara walked out the door. Pulling out the driveway, she recalled all the events that led to her falling. She shook her head as the memories of her last glimpse of the Surface overwhelmed her. The memory of her mother's cries and her father's terror filled eyes as she lost her grip on the edge of the hole. She pulled into the school parking lot, stopping at the office to get a visitors pass. She stuck it in her pocket as she read the room number Frisk had texted her.
313, 311, 309.
She stopped at the door, took a breath, and knocked. The door was opened by a bored looking boy who didn't even ask who she was. Mrs. Wayne walked over and began speaking in hushed tones.
"Where's Frisk?"
"She got sick and sent me instead."
"Oh. Well, come in, I guess."
She walked into the room, which fell silent.
Mrs. Wayne plastered on a huge smile,"Class, this is Carrie Dreemurr, one of the humans who fell into the Underground!"
"It's Chara, thank you. And I wasn't just any human that fell, I was the first. Do you want to hear about what happened?"
Silence. Someone in the back coughed.
"Okay. I'll take that as a yes."
"Why did you fall? I heard some people went to the mountain to... To just die."
"I fell on accident. I went on an outing with my parents and brother. I was pretty curious as a child, and I went to explore a cave. Then I tripped and fell into the hole. My father tried to help me, but he couldn't.
"I was found by a prince. I know, sounds very cliche, but that's what happened. Prince Asriel, child of Queen Toriel and King Asgore, and my future brother and best friend. I was happy in the Underground. I had a family that loved me. I guess everything went wrong when I began loving them back.
"Don't get me wrong, it's wonderful to love your family. But I felt terrible that they were trapped Underground. I wanted them to be free and truly happy. So I did the only thing I could do to help them; I offered my soul.
"I made myself get sick. When I died, Asriel absorbed my soul. I... I just wanted him to see the sun. But the humans only saw a monster. They didn't see that he was just a little kid with a family. They didn't care, I guess. We died, and everything after that was blank."
"Then how are you alive now?"
"When Frisk fell, I woke up. I was a ghost, I suppose you could say. I was so confused. Everything had changed so much. Countless monsters tried to kill Frisk. But there were fun times as well. Toriel was the one to find Frisk, and we lived at her home for a day. There's four main sections in the Underground. The Ruins, Snowdin, Waterfall and Hotland. Snowdin was where we met the skeleton brothers and nearly died because one of them can't cook.
"Waterfall brought Undyne and another near death experience by spaghetti. Hotland was the worst, but we made many friends there. Anyway, on the topic of how I'm alive, I'm still not sure. There was a robot body, then my real body. It all happened so fast."
That was a lie. Chara remembered every moment in the robot body. It was terrible. She couldn't feel anything. No pain, no feelings. Just a strange sensation of feeling unattached to everything. Like she wasn't even there. And she felt so alone. She couldn't feel anything from Frisk. She shook her head as a kid spoke.
"Wow. So cool. We totally care about your life story."
Chara flushed red, and the class laughed. She stood up, speaking to the teacher,"Look, I had a wonderful time here, but I've got to go. Frisk is sick and I have to help her."
"Okay. Tell Frisk she can come by whenever she wants."
"Right."
Chara walked out, fingernails digging into her palm to prevent her from making a certain gesture. As she got in her car, she looked at her phone and saw that Frisk had texted her.
Hey, could you get some food. Plz. So hunger. ("._.)
Eh, why not. Anything in mind?
Idk. Pizza would be great. ^u^
K.
Oh, could you also get Jojo. I, uh, need her help.
*^* don't you need me? Lol yeah I will.
Hehe. Love ya~
-//////////- love you too <3
Chara picked up two pizzas, cheese and pepperoni with bacon. She stopped at Sans and Jojo's small apartment. Sans smirked as Jojo got into the car and gave a little sarcastic wave.
"have fun kiddos!" he called.
"Kiddo yourself!" Jojo yelled back at him.
Chara felt a small stab of jealousy at their easy relationship. They worked so easily together. But then she bit her tongue. What was she thinking? She wouldn't trade her and Frisk's rocky relationship for anything. Sure, they had their ups and downs, but that's what made it fun. And Chara had to admit; loving Frisk was very fun.
She was so unpredictable. There was always something new, something different about Frisk. That's why Chara liked her from the very beginning, before even the first reset.
In a repetitive world, Frisk's changes were the only thing keeping her sane.
Sososososososososososososo sorry for not updating in like forever. But those of you who read my art book know I went on hiatus for a while. This chapter didn't really come out like I wanted it to, but I didn't want to keep y'all waiting for me to try and fix it. So there's a little info about Chara, and can you catch the lies she told? Anyway we hit 6k! Awesome!
