-Chapter Thirty-

Crash!

The echoes of the first firework rang out into the still night. For one heartbeat, the night seemed to tense, then exploded in a shower of colors of all kinds.

Chara watched Frisk, who was gazing skyward. Her face glowed with the colors of the fireworks, and Chara smiled softly. Asriel tapped Chara's shoulder and motioned her over.

He smirked,"So, I guess she's gonna be your New Years kiss, unless your lips are still sore from Christmas."

Chara punched him in the shoulder,"Shut up! At least I get a New Years kiss, unlike some people."

Asriel huffed as she laughed,"Seriously though, Az. I don't want you to be lonely. Find yourself a nice girl. Gotta continue the Royal goat line." Chara winked when Asriel blushed.

As he walked away, Chara found herself not-so-unwillingly reliving Christmas night.

The house was full of quiet chatter. A nice, peaceful Christmas night. Though Chara hadn't got any alone time with Frisk, she was still enjoying herself and settling with hugs and cheek kisses.

Frisk glanced up and blushed bright red. Chara followed her gaze and widened her eyes when she saw a sprig of mistletoe floating above them, surrounded by a blue aura. A certain skeleton was sitting with one eye closed lazily and his pointer finger raised.

Chara flushed red and looked at Frisk, whose eyes were sparkling. She wrapped her arms around Chara's neck and leaned in. Chara relented and met her, lips tingling at her touch. She wound her arms around Frisk's waist, digging her fingers in slightly. Frisk practically purred in response, asking permission for entry. Chara resisted for a second, suddenly self conscious, but quickly gave in.

Frisk explored, and Chara tasted peppermint on her tongue. That only stimulated her further as she ran her hands up and down her side, barely holding back from slipping her hands under her shirt. Frisk, however, didn't have such boundaries. She deepened the kiss, tilting her head slightly. Chara stifled a moan and broke away, panting.

"uh..."

"M-my children, I do not think that this was exactly what we expected. Y-you see, it was supposed to be a small joke."

Chara shrugged, pulling Frisk close,"What'd you think would happen? We couldn't help ourselves." She winked,"Hey, I like this kind of humor, though."

Chara smiled, looking once more at the sky. She walked over to Frisk, who tugged her away from the family.

"Too crowded here, if you know what I mean. C'mon, I know a place."

They walked for a while, and soon came upon a large hill. Chara helped Frisk up, and was astounded by the view. Ebbot View lay before them, lights glittering. Teralor was vaguely visible on the horizon, and fireworks lit up the sky.

Chara sat down, Frisk beside her. Minutes past in silence that was only broken by the crashes and booms of the fireworks.

Without looking away from the sky, Frisk said,"Chara, I'm mad at you."

Chara jolted up, surprise rushing through her,"What? What did I do?"

"More like what didn't you do. In precisely two months, there will be another Dreemurr in the house."

"Your point is?"

"Another Dreemurr is my point! We don't have a name for him or her!"

"Oh my gosh. You're right. Okay, let's pick a name now. Any ideas?"

"Well, for a girl I've always liked Harley."

"And what about a boy?"

"I don't really know."

"I like Amelia, for a girl."

"I like that! Also, I do have an idea for a boy, but I'm not sure..."

"What is it?" Chara pressed,"Tell me!"

"Well, if it is a boy, I'd like to name him Cory. I-if you want, I mean."

"Frisk, I'd love that so much." Tears were pricking her eyes, blurring the magnificent view,"I don't even know what else to say."

"Then don't say anything. It's settled, then. For a boy, we have Cory, and for a girl, it's Amelia."

"Beautiful names for a beautiful baby."

They leaned against each other, enjoying the others warmth in the cool night. Snow still lay in scattered patches, but, for the most part, the worst of the December weather had gone by.

Chara squeezed Frisk and scooped her into her lap,"Still light as a feather." Chara teased.

Frisk smirked and lifted her head, crashing their lips together. Chara melted into the sudden kiss, moving her lips with Frisk's. Frisk growled with lust, and pinned her against the ground. Chara was stuck on the bottom, but nevertheless enjoying the dominant Frisk.

Frisk slipped her hand under Chara's shirt, squeezing her waist. Chara shuddered with pleasure, placing her hands on Frisk's chest. Frisk's stomach pressed against Chara's, but the two paid no mind to that. They made out for a few more minutes before Frisk pulled back and rolled onto the ground.

"Well then. That was... Pleasant."

"Yeah. We, uh, probably shouldn't do that anymore. At least until the baby's born."

"Mmm. You're probably right. I'm not gonna like it, though."

"Me neither. Only two months left, though."

Time went by as they watched the colorful display and chatted aimlessly. Frisk giggled and stood up. Strangely, she pulled two sparklers out of somewhere.

Chara took one,"Do you have a lighter?"

"Uh, yeah."

Chara flicked it on and lit the two fireworks. They flared up with a sparkle of yellow flames. They watched them burn down to stubs, then started down the hill. When they made it back home, they held hands and went inside. Most of the family was inside, having run out of fireworks to shoot. They sat on the couch and cuddled, not really watching the tv.

Chara quickly ran upstairs and grabbed a blanket. Sitting back down, she wrapped it around Frisk's shoulders and laid her head on her lap. Frisk absentmindedly ran her fingers through her hair. Chara wiggled closer, pressing her ear to Frisk's stomach.

Chara giggled as Frisk's stomach gurgled,"Hungry?"

Frisk gazed down at her, eyes full of love,"Only for you."

Chara smiled and softly pressed her lips against Frisk's. As the clock struck midnight, signaling a new year, the two lovers embraced, caring about nothing but the person in their arms.
