Chapter 4 - Meeting the Mayor

In the Chat Room...

(A/N: Sorry buds, this is the same chapter because the previous chapter has glitched a bit from saving, so recommend to re-write this again.)

Me: So far, everything looks great.

Asgore: Speaking of which, did you write something about us meeting the mayor?

Me: Yep, sure do. Except, over the years, the government are really coughing up the business in public right now.

Toriel: Is it that bad?

Me: Very, very bad.

Frisk: Man, I hope the mayor that you wrote in the chapter would allow the monsters to live here in peace.

Sans: Yeah, I hope so too.

Papyrus: SPEAKING OF HOPES, IT'S ALMOST LUNCH TIME! I'M GOING TO COOK MY GOURMET SPAGHETTI! NYEHEHEH! *runs off*

Me: Welp, talk about spaghetti out of here.

Papyrus: *comes back* DON'T GET SAUCY WITH ME, AZURE! *runs off again*

Me: Bummer!

What's up Buddies! Sorry that I didn't update this chapter because I was having problems trying to figure out how to plan this one out. At first, it was boring and I was 'maybe I should write a birthday chapter for my little Frisk' but turns out it didn't work out, so I have write a different one instead. Also, the past two weeks I have to visit my dad because he's not well recently so I'm worried about him and also Father's day is coming up very soon. So, let's get into the strange chapter I wrote. I hope you enjoy this~

Frisk's P.O.V

The next morning, I woke up early due to the sounds of bird chirping. I sat up and looked beside me to see Asriel still sleeping as usual. I crawled out of bed and about to get my clothes when the door knocked. I walked over and opened it to reveal Asgore.

"Oh, good morning Asgore." I greeted cheerfully.

"Good morning Frisk, I would like a word with you. Would you mind coming to the living room, please?"

"Sure." Even though I'm still in my pajamas, I followed him to the living room. He got to the couch and sat down while I sat down next to him.

"Listen Frisk, I received a message from the mayor or president. He told me about meeting you at his office today at the United Nations. So, I want you as an ambassador to go and see him. I would be there to support you with further information. Once the meeting with him was over, talk to me and I would do something about it." He explained formally. "Would you be okay with this?"

Wow, okay first of all. What the hell is this? I'm going to meet some old guy who runs this city and have a word with him about the monsters returning to the surface? Gee, this is not going to be easy. I have to explain the whole situation to this guy? In my mind, I literally slap myself in the face for this.

"I don't know, what if he doesn't understand what I am talking about?" I questioned.

"Then, I'll help you." A soft kind voice rang out and we turned around to see Toriel standing in the doorway in her purple robe.

"M-mom."

"As much as I know since I left Asgore, I have the proof to the mayor with a lot of information that he doesn't know about." She informed as she walked over and sat beside me on the other side. "I'm coming with you too."

"Okay."

"Right. Get ready and we'll wait for you." Asgore said, as I nodded and rushed back to my room to get my robe. I took it out, put it on and grabbed my boots and put it on. After I check myself to make sure I'm dressed, I walked back downstairs and into the living room. The two goats were surprised to see me wearing this.

"My child, you look like a mini-version of me." Toriel awed with her hands on her cheeks.

"Ye-ah, I do actually..." I said awkwardly, looking down at the robe.

"No, you look marvellous Frisk." Asgore complimented.

"Again, thanks."

"Now, let's go and meet the mayor."

With that, we all got up and walked all the way to the city.

(Time Skip to the United Nations)

"So, this is the United Nations?" I asked looking at the gigantic building in front of us. It was like bigger than a museum if you look at it. No wonder all buildings here are enormous.

"Indeed, the mayor should be inside and you, Frisk, need to explain everything to him. Toriel and I will support you." Asgore replied, setting his hand gently on my shoulder. I nodded to him, as we walked inside. Asgore began to navigate through the hallways until we approached the mayor's office. He raised his hand and knocked on the door three times.

"Come in." The voice replied from the other side.

"Let's go..." He muttered, as he opened the door and stepped inside the office. Toriel and I followed him. At the desk in front of us was the mayor. This mayor is a mid-age man with a beard and glasses. His face remain calm as he observe us as guests.

"Greetings, I am the mayor of this city. Please to meet you." He greeted, as he stood up and shook our hands when we approached at his large desk. He turned down to me, "And you must be the ambassador of the monster race, correct?"

"Y-yes sir." I replied.

"I see." He nodded slowly, as he sat back down on his seat, "Please take a seat." We all sat down on the three arm-chairs in front of him. I was very nervous about this, but thanks to Asgore and Toriel by my side, they are here to support me.

"So, ambassador, care to explain about... how did this all happened?" He asked.

"W-well..." I began and then hesitated while thinking, 'Damn, I don't know how to explain...'

"Sorry to interrupt... But I have some explanation before Frisk here fell down at Mt. Ebott this year." Asgore broke in, "It started hundreds of years ago, when the war began against the humans and monsters. The reason was I, Asgore, the King of the Monster Race, declare the war because your people killed my young prince who returned the human back to your village from the mountain... You thought that 'we' killed the human but we didn't, we didn't know that this human belongs to you... so after what happened; this... what was left... so... I have no choice." After he finished, he lowered his head and clenched his fists.

"I see. Well, thank you for the backstory." The mayor thanked, and then turned to Toriel. "Would you like to add something to it, miss?"

"Of course." Toriel answered, as she began the next chapter, "From what Asgore has said, I was once his queen to the monster race and known to be the 'brains' of this Monster Race. The reason I was no longer a queen was because I divorced him; because... my dear son has died from your people and then the war was declared... I couldn't bear to see innocent humans get killed..." She clenched her hands into fists, "I have no idea why but I went to the RUINS to protect any human that came down here... I tried and tried and tried, but they don't listen to me..." She turned to me, "And then, this human came by, she was like a newborn child to me so I do the best I could to protect her from getting killed."

"So, you're telling me that you're protecting this... human, from dangers of the monsters?" The mayor asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes." She replied.

"I see now. Thank you kindly." He nodded, and finally I'm next. "Now, ambassador, tell me about your adventure and how you brought the monsters back to the surface?"

"Okay." I inhale a deep breath and then exhale to relax, "Well, you see... I ran away from the orphanage because all the kids from my pre-school are annoying the hell out of me and I'm sick of them teasing and bullying me like that just because of my stupid name!" I tightened my hands into fists, "I wish I could just die right now so I decided to fall down at Mt. Ebott to commit suicide. Since then, monsters living in this mountain should be hungry to kill a human like me but then, I met Toriel and she would never hurt me like the monsters do, and I like to stay with her but I have to leave to return home so I journey through the undergrounds, making new friends along the way and finally broke the barrier. The monsters are happy to be free and so do I. But the only problem is... monsters are still terrified about meeting the humans again so I worked as their ambassador to show that they could make peace and lived together like friends."

"Quite an interesting tale." The mayor murmured, writing down some notes on a piece of paper. "So, ambassador, you want the monsters to live here on the surface?"

"Yes."

"Very well." He stood up from his chair which caused me, Toriel and Asgore to flinched at him, feeling terrified about what's going to happened. "By today, I will make a new announcement that the ambassador has made a new rule, 'Humans and monsters will not fight as enemies but as good friends'. Ambassador, as the mayor's honour, I welcome you and the monsters to the surface."

"Thank you sir." I thanked him.

"Yes, thank you very much, mayor." Toriel added, shaking his hand gladly.

"My pleasure, now better going so I can began my announcement and there are some other businesses that need to be attended."

"Very well. Goodbye." Asgore waved, as Toriel and I waved to him as we all exited the office. I let out a loud sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from my forehead. "Frisk, I'm so proud of you."

"Thank you." I replied, "For a minute, I thought I was going to have a heart attack."

"Well, you did your best. After all, the mayor has finally agreed to let us monsters lived here. A whole lot of things that we need to discovered." Toriel said.

"Yep." I agreed as I looked at both of the two grown-ups. I gently slip my hands into Toriel's and Asgore's hands. The two blinked for a moment and looked down at me, "Besides, I'm just happy that someday, maybe you could be... like... like my parents."

Asgore suddenly stopped at what he had heard, "Like your... parents?"

"Yeah, I don't have a mum or dad because... they're died when I was young..." I explained, as tears are slowly appearing in my eyes, "I have nobody to look after me, I have Toriel as my mom and to you, Asgore..." I turned to the older goat, "I see you more like a dad to me... and that's why I want you to be like my dad."

Asgore felt like cracking a huge smile, "Of course I would be like your father, I always wanted to have a family, with you, Toriel and of course our son, Asriel. Besides, I would be your guardian too, protecting you from what endangers you and be sure you're safe."

"Okay, I would like to call you as 'dad' for now." I cracked up a smile.

"Thank you Frisk." He whispered, as he pat my head "Big daddy will look after his big girl."

"Oh, Asgore." Toriel giggled, "You sounded just like how you say it to Asriel when he was young."

"Oh please, Asriel is a big boy now. He's going to be a prince of the Dreemurrs." Asgore chuckled. "Well, aside from you, Toriel."

"Why didn't you call me Tori instead?" She asked confusingly.

"Well, I thought... I couldn't call you that anymore." He replied, scratching the back of his neck.

"Not even, Mr. King Fluffybuns?" She taunted.

"Hey, that was my prefer nickname, isn't it?" He asked.

She giggled, "Yep, calling you like that is fun!"

"Alright, let's head home now so we could have a great time!" I exclaimed.

"Good idea." Asgore agreed, as he held onto my hand and then the three of us exited the building.
