Chapter 16 - So It Began

In the Chat Room...

Undyne: *reads the previous chapter* What the heck? You wrote about deaths in this chapter?

Me: Yeah, mighty plot twist

Undyne: I'm seriously going to kill Chara for killing my girlfriend and my best buddy *summon her spear*

Me: *hands up in defense* Whoa whoa whoa whoa there Undyne! It's just a story, not some real life triggers.

Undyne: Fine. *pixelate her spear* How long can you make the story better?

Me: Awhile...

What's up Buddies! Been a long time, hasn't it? Well, just to clarify some things. I'm basically failing my studies because the questions I was currently doing are super hard, harder than the questions from university. If I don't get them done, it's MEGA problem for me O.O . So, just let you know that my life is hard. But anyways, here's the chapter (sorry it's short and crappy). I hope you enjoy this~

Frisk's P.O.V

"You have a week until the perish commits..."

Those were the last words I heard from Demise as he disappeared from the party along Chara and Flowey. I shut my eyes as the memories of Alphys, Mettaton and Papyrus's death flashed before my eyes. I clenched my hands to my head, shaking back and forth trying to forget about them but I couldn't. No matter how hard I try, it will never change and I can't change the past. Sighing quietly, I stood up from the couch I was sitting on and make my way upstairs, down the hallway to mine and Sans's room.

I approached at the door and knocked, "Sans?"

"You can come in." I heard him respond as I opened the door to see him sitting on the double-sized bed which we got from last week, wearing Papyrus's scarf and had his hood over his face. I walked over to him and sat down beside him.

"You think you are going to be alright?" I asked quietly.

"Don't worry about me babe, you should be worry about the others..." He reassured with a sigh, "I just... can't believe that Chara, no, Demise, would do this to erase this world." He clenched his phalanges, "We got our happy ending and yet, three of our friends are gone!"

"And you're saying that there's no way to fix up that mistake, right?" I questioned.

"Exactly." He wrapped his fingers on the scarf and sighed. He glanced at his bedroom window and staring at nothing "... You know how it feels to lose someone that's important to you, right?" I nodded slowly to him, "Do you happen to have the same feeling? Like, do you lost someone that's important to you?"

"I do." I answered, looking at my lap where my hands were held together fiddling around with my fingers, "I lost my parents in a fire accident when I was a baby..." He turned his full attention on me as I continued, "I don't know how it happened, but all I know was being raised in the orphanage. After being there for so long, these children that I don't know treated like I'm some kind of freak or something..."

"No, that's not true... you look perfect." He reassured.

"I know, but that's how everybody sees in me not despite my appearance." I confessed, "Sometimes, being a child means nothing to me. All I do is play and learn, and later on I got punched and kicked by other children." I shifted in my spot a bit, "Especially when growing up, I became independent and friendly to show kindness towards others in need, especially if committing suicide."

"Like how you treated us like friends." He mused.

"Exactly, that's why I'll do the same with monsters." I concluded with a small smile. "So don't worry so much, we need to focus on stopping Demise."

"You're right." He agreed, until he heard a grumbling sound. "Hm?" He looked down at my belly and it growled again. He averts his eyes to mine and I was flustered with embarrassment.

"Sorry, I guess I got hungry..." I told him truthfully.

"You wanna head for Grillby's?" He suggested.

"Sure." I nodded, and he took my hand.

"Let's go then. I know a shortcut." He gave me a wink before snapping his fingers to teleport us to Grillby's to have dinner.

Gaster's P.O.V

I was in my office, continuing to do my research. Day after day, I have gather more information from each book from the bookshelf. So far, I already know about the SOUL's strength but is there any weaknesses or perhaps something that links to the HATE? Taking a sip from my tea, I turned to the next page until my eyes caught on the title and pictures of coloured SOULS. I placed the teacup down and began to read.

Virtue and Vice Souls

These two groups have play a different role between good and bad. Virtue represents the moral excellence, good quality and efficacy while Vice represents the grossly immoral conduct, great wickedness and evil habit. It was according that these two sides to have different powers and feelings.

The Virtue Souls are Patience, Bravery, Integrity, Perseverance, Kindness, Justice and Determination

The Vice Souls are Idleness, Audacity, Conceit, Inflexible, Compliance, Vengeance and Spite

It was recorded in 195X, where the two groups declare a battle with SOUL powers. The two groups combined their SOULS together to create one powerful SOUL to began their final battle. The Virtue's powerful SOUL is known as HOPE while the Vice's powerful SOUL is known as HATE. The battle was clashed in a great battle until in the end, HOPE has destroyed HATE and brought back peace into this world. HOPE was then disintegrate back into six SOULS and was sent into the chosen humans.

According to the prophecy, obtaining the HOPE SOUL is impossible, not even a Monster nor Human Soul itself can absorb it. The chosen one will require a Determination Soul to obtain this power. But it comes to a fair price, once HOPE disintegrate from the being's body, they will slowly die.

I gasped as I read the information over. So it's true, this HATE SOUL was created by combining the Vice Souls. So that means... I reflected over my notes and saw the link. Not only Demise created that SOUL of HATE, but he had already gathered the Vice SOULs to use the dark energy from them to make HATE instead of combining them together.

"How interesting..." I mumbled to myself, rubbing my index finger under my chin thoughtfully. I was interrupted by a phone call. "Oh? I wonder who could that be?" I stood up from my chair and walked over to the phone and answered, "Hello?"

"Gaster, thank goodness you answered the phone but I need you to come over immediately, this is an emergency!" Asgore said, in tone which sounds worried and panicked.

"I'm on my way." I replied, hanging up the phoneand quickly and grabbed my medical bag before using my own magic to teleport at the front door where I can sense Asgore's SOUL. I knocked on the door and waited until the door was opened to reveal Asgore.

"Thank you for coming, Gaster." He said, as I allow myself in the house which appears to be Alphys's Laboratory.

"Tell me what's going on?" I asked hastily.

"It's Undyne, she's in pain." He answered.

"What?"

"NGHHHHHH!!" I heard a loud scream and immediately turned to my head until I saw Undyne in pain with Toriel and Asriel comforting her to calm down. I caught sight of a large cut on her left arm and it was bleeding badly.

"Undyne! Are you alright?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She replied blankly, "Just a big cut from that psycho killer."

"You saw Chara?"

"Yeah, that brat broke into the laboratory when I got back from the party and stole some syringes of Determination." She explained, as I opened up my medical bag and use the isoproyl alchohol to clean up her cut. "I tried to stop her but she was moving way too fast and cut my arm before fleeing here... I have no idea what is she planning to do with them but I believe it might be bad news..." She gritted her teeth to held back her scream as I quickly finished cleaning up her wound before applying the dressing and wrapping the gauze around the arm.

"I heard that Determination from humans won't work on monsters, so why would Chara need them for?" I stated, cleaning up the mess and closed up my medical bag.

"That's what I just said!" Undyne huffed, pulling herself up onto her feet and stumbled over to the couch.

"I may interrupt but you have found anything, Gaster?" Asgore asked, shifting the statement aside and refocus on the main target.

"I do, but I need Sans and Frisk to know this as well." I answered.

"Very well."

"I'll call them right over." Toriel insisted, dialing the number to call Frisk. "Hello, my child. We have some important information that Gaster needs to discuss about and we want you both to come to Alphys's laboratory now... okay, bye." She hung the phone, "She says they're coming."

I heard a soft ping and turned around to see Sans with Frisk. I noticed that my son was wearing Papyrus's scarf, I understood that he was sad about Papyrus.

"So, Dad, spill it. What did you find out?" Sans demanded.

"Well, I have discovered that HATE was actually a powerful SOUL combined by the Vice SOULS." I informed.

"The Vice SOULS?" Frisk repeated.

"There are the bad SOULS which harvest the power to create the HATE. According to the text, their opponent was the Virtue SOULS, the good SOULS; both of these groups have declare a battle with SOUL powers 50 years ago... The only way to beat the HATE is not Determination but an extremely powerful SOUL called HOPE."

"HOPE, you say?" Sans said, looking surprised to hear that a SOUL sounds powerful.

"Yes, HOPE is Virtue's powerful SOUL and it must be combined with the six Human SOULS who are the Virtue's SOULS."

"Did you think it will work?" Asgore asked.

"Unfortunately, it's impossible to say... but only those with the Determination SOUL itself can harvest the power of HOPE, but... it's a risky move, once you obtain the HOPE and defeat HATE, then... you'll die afterwards."

"SERIOUSLY?!" Everyone exclaimed.

"That's impossible, Frisk is the only one with the Determination SOUL itself so there's no way she can sacrifice herself to save Chara. Is there another way?"

"I'm afraid not, there is no way to save someone who already used the HOPE SOUL." I replied, shaking my head softly.

Sans's P.O.V

No, this can't be true. Once the HOPE SOUL is used, you'll die afterwards. I glanced at my girlfriend who look surprised, I can see the fear in her eyes - she was scared of death. It's almost like she can't die since we made it this far and now things will start over. I need to do something, perhaps something or anything that could help prevent her death.

"I know it's hard, but whether it is or not, never can change." Gaster mused. "Besides, the limit we had right now is a week, so we better make this count."

"So what can we do?" Toriel asked.

"Well..." He started before glancing at everyone else, "Since there are seven of us... it is best that we need to complete some simple tasks..." He walked over to the messy table and notice some papers, "It looks like I need to borrow her notes..." He began to collect them while he fix them up into a neat pile, "Asgore, Toriel, Asriel and Frisk ... I need you four to head back to the Mt. Ebott and see if you locate the Human SOULs, if by any chance they could be hiding somewhere. You need to tell them about Demise, I believe they can lend you a hand in defeating him."

"But I thought they are gone after the barrier was broken." Toriel convinced.

"Maybe, but they are not always disappear; because remember that SOULs are morals, they remain this way for eternity."

"So do you think we still have a chance?" Asgore asked.

"Perhaps seventy-five percent is for success, the other twenty-five percent is bad news." Gaster guessed.

"I see." Asgore agreed.

He then turned back Sans and Undyne, "You two are coming with me because I probably need some assistance in the laboratory."

"Hey doc, as much I don't know about science and physics, there's no way I'll be helping you out." Undyne pointed out broadly.

"Actually, I need someone to keep an eye out while I do some experiment." Gaster confided.

"Okay, that's more sense." Undyne admitted.

"Once we completed these tasks, we might have a better chance to get the HOPE SOUL." He concluded. "Are we clear about this?" Everyone nodded their heads, "Good, we'll start tomorrow morning, so I suggest we head home and be ready."

"Understood." Asgore stood up from the couch, "We'll be heading home now... thank you Gaster."

"You're welcome, Asgore."

"Come on, Tori, Asriel..." He called, as his family followed him. "And... goodbye everyone."

"Bye Asgore." They waved goodbye as the Dreemurrs left the laboratory.

"Well then, shall we head home now?" Sans asked.

"Yeah... I'm feeling sleepy though." Frisk replied, rubbing her tired eyes.

"Alright..." He said, looking at his dad, "We're going now, Dad."

"Okay son, stay safe." Gaster farewelled, as Sans picked up his almost-tired Frisk in bridal style and teleport himself from the lab.

My Reactions: 6 days until the perish commits...

Oh boy, the clock is ticking right now! When it reaches to the 'a day until the perish commits...' is the stage when Frisk will suddenly just die and Chara takes over to do Genocide. *confetti everywhere* Also, I was wondering if you still want the lemon/lime chapter because this story is going to get boring with less readers here, oh wait? I realized that are some readers under 18. *bang my head on the table* Why the innocence readers? They found this interesting story and now their innocence has been taken away after reading just 'one' chapter from my old book. I think I need some time alone... *hides in the corner*

Don't forget to leave a VOTE and COMMENT for this chapter

Peace out Buddies!
