The Broken Child: Part 1(before Undertale)

Frisk sat at her desk. Her room was dark and quiet, empty. She looked over at and saw HER bed. Frisk turned away. She held back tears that were bound to come again.

Frisk was only reminded of the memories they had, and the memories they lost. The memories they could've had, if only SHE had stayed. Frisk took a sharp inhale and tried to forget.

All Frisk ever wanted was to go back to when things were better. They weren't great, but they were better. She only wanted to reset. To have a second chance. Frisk let out a slow breath, trying not to cry.

From across the hallway Frisk could hear the screams. She tried to block them out. She tried to stop thinking, stop feeling. But she couldn't. An piercing scream filled the air, followed by pleading sobs. Frisk clenched the arm of her chair.

Frisk knew full well what was going on. She knew her mother and David were in there. She knew the awful things that were happening. But she tried to block it out. It wasn't that she didn't want to help, she truly did.

Every day for the past few years, the screams came from across the hall. The loud, loud screams. The ones you can't just forget about. The ones that mark you. The ones that leave scars. Frisks heart beat faster as the screaming stopped.

She knew that he was done. He was finished with mother. Frisk knew that meant she was next. She could hear the merciless footsteps come closer to her room. She could hear her mother pleading to stop. Her mother begged him to leave me alone. She even offered to take mine for me. But the steps continued on.

The door burst open and David walked in. He wore a white tank top, covered in stains. He held his precious, precious, beer in one hand with his other fish clenched. His knuckles were pink, and his hands had traces of blood. Frisk kept her composure.

David grabbed Frisk up by the hair and yanked her back down to the floor again. Frisk hit the ground hard, landing with a thump. Her mother screamed.

"Shut up, Lily!" Screamed David with a growl beneath his tone. "Go back to bed!" He hissed.

Her mother sobbed, but David continued. He raised his hand and struck down on Frisk once again.

"TELL ME YOU'RE SORRY!" Screamed David. Frisk remained silent. She stayed on the floor, blood dripping from her mouth.

"TELL ME YOU'RE SORRY GOD DAMMIT!"

Frisk stayed silent. Her mother screamed, begging him to stop. Begging Frisk to speak. But neither did a thing.

"THATS IT!" David picked Frisk up by her neck. He pinned her against the wall. "TELL ME YOU'RE SORRY!"

Frisk gained a small breath and whispered, "What do I have to be sorry for, David?"

David threw her to the ground. "DON'T YOU DARE CALL ME DAVID YOU BITCH! CALL ME WHAT I TELL YOU TO CALL ME!"

Frisk groaned on the floor. "Never, David."

David raised his beer bottle and with one clean hit, broke the bottle on top of Frisks head.
