Ok, let's get this straight...

No, I do not think that Sans despises Chara.

No, I do not blame genocide on Chara.

And no, I do not think that Chara and Sans could never get along.

I just..... don't like this ship.

Yes, I do see the reasons behind why people like this ship. But I also have reasons why I do not like this ship.

Reasons why people like it....

Reason One:

They both can relate to the same thing, the loss of a sibling. Being able to understand one another in a relationship is key, and when something so heart wrenching happens to both of them, they can both understand each other, and they both know how to comfort the other for they have been through the same thing.

Reason Two:

They both have similar personalities. Even though we can't see much from Chara's personality in game, she does give off a sarcastic personality, and seems like she'd be one to crack jokes, granted, they'd probably be along the dark humor sense. Also, throughout the genocide run, you can see Sans almost has that same kind of edge to how he presents himself, even mocking you for having no friends in battle.

Reason Three:

( This one is a stretch and may be more on a humor side of things then a legitimate reason.) They are both "addicted" to some sort of food product. Chara being chocolate, and Sans being ketchup.

Now for my reasons why I don't like this ship....

Reason One:

I 99.9 percent sure that this is still considered pedophilia. I know Chara has been a spirit for 100 or more years, but that doesn't change that their body is still a child. Pedophilia in my mind, is just too much, and like I've said multiple times, I hate huge age gaps.

Reason Two:

This is going back to their personalities, but sometimes people can be too similar for one another. I feel like both of their stubborn personalities would cause them to fight and argue over menial things. I don't know, but I just feel like sometimes people are just too similar to be romantically involved with each other.

Reason Three:

Do you know how awkward it'd be for Sans to tell Toriel ( who is most likely one of his closest friends ) that he is dating their adopted child, just saying, that in itself is an eyebrow raiser.

Reason Four:

Just like I said with the Frans Chapter, they aren't the same species. I get that a lot of people preach that love is love no matter what, but I feel that monsters also seem to have different mannerisms than humans do. Also, look at it like this, even if you love, let's say a dog, like family, you'd never be romantically engaged with your dog, even if the dog could speak and walk, I don't think any of you would marry it.

Reason Five:

To be honest with you guys, even though I don't think Sans would go all fatherly over Chara (That's Asgore's job), I do feel like they'd be close enough to look at each other as siblings. I feel like after Chara got over being pissed at humanity, she'd probably grow attached to Sans faster than to the other monsters ( Not including the Dreemurr family). Sans may be lazy and a complete slob, but he does seem to know how to listen, and how to try to understand, which is probably all that Chara needs. They probably just want someone to sit down, and let them lean onto their shoulder. And in this way, I feel like Sans might even become an older brother figure to Chara. Sure, they may have moments when they are rolling their eyes at the other behind their backs, and they might bicker about their opinions on certain things, but so does any other sibling, am I right? If you guys somehow completely get along with your siblings, I'd be utterly impressed and at the same time probably not believe you.

But yeah, overall, I can definitely see why people might ship this, but for me, I could only see them becoming close in a sibling sense.
