Little Problems (Errink)

May make art for this chapter later.

Error's POV

"Give it up you pathetic glitch!"

"dOnT pAtRoNiZe Me."

I stood carelessly as Ink steadied himself. We had been fighting in the doodlesphere for who knows how long. I had originally planned for it to be a quick little "clean up" in one of the smaller anomalies, but apparently Ink can't seem to grasp the fact that he's the bad guy. I'm the hero, really. I'm the one who's getting rid of these pesky AUs that are taking up too much space, because if they touch then the entire Multiverse will collapse. But Squid over here doesn't seem to understand this situation and continues to wave that stupid brush of his around and make my life harder.

I quickly jumped out of the way of another paint attack, eager to get this battle done with. I didn't even hesitate when sending a valley of glitched red bones at him, then using my strings to either side of him to make it harder to get away. Ink, however, decided to use that stupid "melting thing" or whatever it is he does to turn into a puddle of ink. He shot across the floor and reappeared behind me before whacking me with his brush. I tried to leap out of the way, but his brush still hit part of my back, which was enough for me to feel the instant burning sensation.

My glitched scream echoed throughout the doodlesphere as Ink smiled. He then kicked me down onto the floor and flipped me over so I was lying on my back, facing him. He stared at me with a playful grin, before snapping his fingers. My eyes went wide as I felt my clothes become heavy and my movements were constructed. I tried to squirm away from him, only to realize that the stupid Squid had used his purple paint to chain me. I glared at him and let out a low growl to show I wasn't done yet, but truthfully, I had no idea how to get out of the chains. I had never let myself get hit by the paint before, so this was all very new to me.

"So, Error, it looks as if I have beaten you! None of us retreated, and it wasn't a draw, no, I beat you! How does that feel, hm?" Ink kept rambling on about how he was the good guy and that I never stood a chance against him, which is actually the typical bad guy speech if you ask me, but I wasn't gonna say anything. I was too focused on trying to get out.

"Hey! Error! You paying attention? This is important here!"

I looked up with a scowl on my face as Ink stared down at me. When he saw I was paying attention again he continued his little rally.

"So as I was saying, I developed a new paint along with the help of Sci. We don't actually know what exactly it does, but Sci said its best I test it before I actually use it in battle. So, I'll test it on you now, and then I can use it during our battles!"

"aNd YoUrE sUgGeStInG tHiS iSnT a BaTtLe?"

Ink huffed at that which made me smirk, embracing my small victory, before it quickly vanished as Ink brought out a vial of paint that glowed an odd mixture of yellow, green, and blue. I tried to wriggle away from him, but he had already opened the bottle and splashed some on the ground.

It felt tingly at first and I was going to laugh at Ink for making such a stupid attack, but suddenly the tingling feeling turned to sharp needle like stabbing pains. My mind also felt fuzzy and it was hard to grasp what was real and what was not. I also felt it was harder to control my actions, which meant that the stinging pain caused tears to form around the edges of my eye sockets.

"mAkE iT sToP! iT bUrNs!" I exclaimed, my voice suddenly seeming more glitched than normal, it's pitches changing from high to low, something I hadn't normally experienced before.

Then the worst of it came. I felt like my entire body was being ripped apart. My rib cage felt as if it were melting due to my soul suddenly becoming so unbelievably hot as it glowed a bright, white light. I felt the excruciating heat envelope my body along with the light, and when the blank color was all I could see anymore, I lost all consciousness.

Ink's POV

I slowly brought my arm down, uncovering my eye sockets from the bright light that had surrounded the Glitch and filled the doodlesphere. I never expected that large of a reaction from the paint, I honestly thought it would just be a simple thing, like immobility, or lack of motivation to keep battling, not something like this!

I glanced around the doodlesphere quickly, making sure that the AUs were still okay after the blast. When I found they were, I brought my attention back to Error, only to find a shocking discovery.

I slowly approached the unconscious figure. It still looked like Error, but it looked smaller. A lot smaller. In fact, his jacket suddenly seemed three sizes too large for him. His skull also seemed to be much rounder, signifying a more youthful look. Suddenly, it clicked.

The paint made the target younger.

I continued to stare at the smaller Error, he looked so peaceful in his sleep, and he was hardly glitching at all. Suddenly his eyes started to slowly open, and I realized how large his eye sockets and eyelights had become. He seemed to be unable to focus on anything at first, but when he saw me in clear, things went downhill.

"aaAAAaaaAaHhhH!!!"

Error quickly scrambled back, occasionally tripping over his large jacket. Somehow during the blast, the chains had disappeared, meaning he was free to do whatever he wanted. And because he was a child, he would be extremely unstable.

"gEt AwAy FrOm Me!!" Error screeched, still backing away. I figured that the paint must have turned his entire being into a child, not just his body, so his mind would be messed up as well.

Hm.. maybe I can use this to my advantage!..

Error's POV

I woke up to a man staring at my face. He looked mean and scary. I don't wanna be around him. So I ran away. I tried to. But my jacket got in the way. I fell a few times. But he won't go away. He looks very scary. I feel like he is a bad man. But I don't know. He is a stranger. I think strangers are bad. But I don't know. I've never met a stranger before.

The bad man started walking forward. That's not good! The bad man is bad, so I gotta run away! I started running. I fell again though. This jacket is also bad. It's big. Really big. But the bad man caught up.

"H-hey, uh, Error buddy? Are you okay kiddo?"

The bad man is talking to me! But is he bad? He sounds nice. But I don't know.

"iM sCaReD.." I tell the stranger. I shake a bit as he looks at me. I'm not lying. I'm scared.

The man looks at me again. He looks nice. Gentle. Maybe he is nice. But he's a stranger. So I still don't know.

"Hey Error, it's alright. I'm not gonna hurt you, okay? Can you calm down? I promise you, I just want to be friends, that's all!"

Friends? So I have someone to play with? I nod, but I also sniff. I'm still scared. Because the nice man is still a stranger.

He held his hand out. "Come on, let's go little fella. Do you know my name?"

I looked at his hand. I don't wanna take it. I shook my head. "sTrAnGeR."

The man sighed. "My name's Ink. And your name is Error."

"iNk..." I know that name. But I don't know Ink. But maybe I do. I don't know. But now I do. Because he's my friend.

"Yep, that's me! Also, before we go out and play, I wanna teach you something, okay?"

I nod, not sure what he wants to teach. "Okay, here we go. Creation is good. Destruction is bad. Don't break anything. Instead, make things!"

I nodded again. "dEsTrUcTiOn... BaD.."

The man, Ink, looked happy. He was smiling. "Very good Error! Now, let's play!"

I looked at him with a smile and followed. Yay! I get to play with the nice Ink man!

Ink's POV

He'll listen to anything I say. Maybe this wasn't so bad after all! Maybe I can finally teach him that destroying is bad! But is it really in my power to change the concept of different characters?..

I shook aside the thought. Of course I could, I'm the protector after all, and I'm protecting all of the AUs from harm by stopping the destroyer once and for all!

I took Error's hand- no, sleeve, his jacket was way too big for him- and opened up a portal to a random AU. Error seemed amazed.

"wOw, YoUr MaGiC iS cOoL!"

My eyes widened. Does he remember how to use his magic? I'll need to check when we're, uh, playing..

I chuckled and led him through the portal. We were in Farmtale. People don't visit this AU very often because it's not very popular, but there's plenty of open fields of grass that are nice to run around in. I let go on Error's sleeve and watched as he began running around in glee. But he kept tripping and falling over his jacket. I frowned. That was the first thing I was going to do.

"Hey Error! Come here!" Error turned around and slowly walked back. I smiled at him and tried to talk to him in sentences he could understand.

"Alright, that jacket looks really big! Want a different one?"

Error looked up and nodded. I grinned and whipped out my paintbrush. I slapped his body with the brush as black ink covered his body. He wailed out in either pain or confusion as I snapped my fingers. Suddenly, the ink morphed into a new jacket for Error. It looked exactly the same as his old jacket, yet smaller. Though the sleeves were still a bit too long. Error didn't seem to mind however. He smiled with glee and continued to run around, jumping through the grass. I smiled as I watched Error play. What was I supposed to be doing again?..

Suddenly, Error called out to me. "hEy, MiStEr InK! lOoK aT tHiS!"

I watched as Error summoned a few bones out of the ground and used them as steps. I watched intently. This is what I came for. I watched as Error stood under a tree and used his strings to pull him up onto a branch. He giggled cheerfully as I watched in amusement.

This is going quite well...
