DeviantArt Raffle : Human!Sans x Frisk

A/N: First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU ALL OVER THE WORLD!! I hope that your 2017 will be a sweeter year than the one that has passed.
And yes, I have finally updated this book after SO long. I'm so sorry to any readers who wanted more of this book. I didn't have a good October, November and December at all, so I stopped writing for a while.
BUT ANYWAYS! Here's my first contest entry for this raffle on DeviantArt. The contest is by this artist named LadyElegantAlex and I entered the story category with what else, Sans x Frisk! Enjoy~!

"Come on, Sans. This can't be too hard now, can it?" The boy with white hair cleared his throat for the fifth time that day.

"You're just going to ask her, to accompany you," He silently reminded himself. "To find a nicer hoodie to buy, and that's it."

"It's not a date. It is NOT a date."

He paused. " ... Why can't it be one?"

Sans let out a long sigh, knowing that deep down it was nearly impossible for it to be real. His head rested on his hand as his mind wandered. For the longest time in his life (coming from an immortal skeleton-turned-into-human hybrid, mind you), he had the strongest feelings about the last human that fell into the Underground, stronger feelings than the ones that he had for his younger brother, Papyrus. Her voice and her poise, her composure and her personality...

For once, he could feel his heart flying once he saw her face. His knees would buckle and go numb the minute her laughter floated into his ears. His chest would feel all warm and cozy inside, as long as she was with him.

Sans sighed; he loved Frisk. He absolutely loved everything about her. She was so sweet and so kind and so merciful that he could not help but fall for her.

In fact, he fell for her so much that he became an orbiting bodyguard to her, keeping her in his sight as often as he could. It was good that she still saw him as a protective brother, otherwise he would have been dismissed badly as a stalker.

Though he obviously was one anyway.

Amidst his thoughts, the humanoid teenager caught the sight of Frisk exiting her room, her short brown hair trailing behind her. Sans took in another deep breath, controlling his special blue blush as he closed his eyes. Well, here goes nothing.

He stood up from the couch, his knees trembling slightly, and walked towards the teenage girl before him. "Heya Frisk."

"Hi Sans!" The simple, cheery sound of her voice made his heart melt. "You're up earlier than usual today."

Sans flashed his signature grin and wink, though deep inside he was love struck. "Eh, I kinda wanted to stop being a lazybone for just one day.

Hearing his pun made Frisk giggle like an innocent child. Sans could not stop his cheeks from turning pale blue at the sound of her giggling; she was just too cute for him. Too bad that that her giggles died down as soon as they started and the moment was gone for him.

She grinned back, still giddy from her giggling. "Aw, that's nice to hear, Sans. Papyrus would love to hear that!"

Sans shrugged. "I don't know, maybe he might just take it as a joke. You know how big of a funny bone he has." He winked his left eye socket at the human girl who resumed her giggles.

Determined to hear more of her laughter, he continued. "But tibia-nest, he never really takes any joke from me. Then again, he did make that punback back in Snowdin, y'know the one about me putting more backbone into my work? Yeah, that was, actually kinda good, so maybe Paps does want to be humerus from time to time, but hey ulna-ver know."

At this point, Frisk was covering her mouth with one hand in an attempt to stifle her laughter while her other hand was clutching her stomach. Sans chuckled at his handiwork, almost forgetting why he did wake up earlier than usual that day.

"But seriously," Frisk said while wiping a tear from her eye. "Why are you up so early? Papyrus hasn't even gone out for his morning training with Undyne."

Sans' mind wandered to his younger brother for a short moment, a taller individual who, even after Frisk freed the Underground humanoid monsters, still continued training with Undyne for 'other purposes'. "Well..." His timid nature got the best of him. "I was wondering if I could ask you something."

"What is it?" Frisk asked brightly.

The humanoid skeleton scratched his head bashfully. "Uh... I kinda need a n-new hoodie and I was hoping..." He was trying his hardest not to stutter. "That you could go-I mean, accompany, me to find one...?" His cheeks were slightly blue with embarrassment. "It was... Papyrus' idea." He adddd quickly before shutting his eyes, afraid to hear her reply.

It may have only been seconds, but to Sans, it felt like hours before he heard Frisk talk again. "Sure!" She answered cheerfully as always.

Heaving a subtle heavy sigh, Sans smiled. "Heh, thanks for treating me, kid." Being taller than her by some inches, he cheekily ruffled her hair.

A frown found its way to Frisk's lips. "What?! You didn't say anything about that!" She puffed angrily as she folded her arms. She pulled out a pouty face at the smirking skeleton.

Sans laughed at the human girl as the hurricane of worry in his chest settled.

Nailed it!

"So what kind of hoodie do you want?"

"Any kind would do, honestly." Sans said simply. "Just so long as Papyrus doesn't have to see this blue one over and over again."

Frisk appeared excited, her eyes darting left and right as she took in the sights of the huge clothing store. "You know, if you weren't that picky about it, we could have just gone to a simpler shop. Why bother come to a place like this?"

Sans mentally praised himself. He told Frisk that he wanted to come to this store specifically and on purpose, because it was Frisk's favourite. If he wanted this date to go well, he'd better not screw it up, right?

Date? Wow Sans, way to persuade yourself.

"Well, there are a skele-ton of hoodies here," The white-haired human replied with a wink. "So I figured that it would be a good place to find one."

Her brown eyes sparkled in excitement. "Oh, I remember! There was this hoodie that I saw the other day with Undyne and Alphys!" Frisk sang out. With that, she grabbed onto Sans' left hand and dragged him to the nearest clothing rack. Her fingers fluttered over the numerous hangars of hoodies before she took one off the rack.

"This one!" She said in exhilaration. "You've got to try this one on!" Her small yet strong hands pushed the jacket onto Sans' chest. He simply smiled at her excitement and slipped the black-and-white hoodie on.

"I look like a panda, kiddo." He laughed as he caught his reflection on a nearby mirror. The hood and pockets were white, while the rest of the jacket was an ebony black. Two semicircular flaps were sewn on the top of the hood, meant to resemble bear ears. "What do you think Papyrus would say when he sees this?" He asked jokingly.

Upon hearing that line, Frisk puffed up her chest with pride, imitating Papyrus' fancy flair. "GOODNESS! MY BROTHER SANS HAS BECOME ONE OF THOSE BEAR-CREATURES! OR..." She then tip-toed and slightly tugged onto one of the ear-flaps. "IS HE THE FLUFFY BUNNY FROM MY FAVOURITE STORY BOOK?!"

This sent Sans laughing whole-heartedly, clearly entertained by Frisk's cute acting. The human girl was giggling too, the sound of her giggles sounding like a child's.

"Seriously though," Sans said in between his fits of laughter as he slowly took off the panda hoodie. "Let's try another one, kiddo."

"Already ahead of you!" She nodded as she took out another dark-colored hoodie. "The character that it's designed of is from a movie. Try it, Sans!"

Compared to the previous one, this hoodie was completely black with an exception of some streaks of grey where the pockets were supposed to be. The hood had triangular pockets on top that resembled spikes, and two wings of black sprouted from the back of the jacket. A small spiky tail with an unusual left red tail-flap was at the bottom of the hoodie.

Her brown eyes were glistening in excitement. "You look like Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon!!" She squealed. "That's my favourite character!"

"But I'm not a dragon, kid." Sans chuckled. "Besides, no pockets." He shrugged.

"Do you really need pockets, Sans?" She pouted.

He narrowed his eyes at her cheekily. "Yes, yes I do need pockets." He said as he took off the hoodie. "Let's try another one."

"Okay!" She said brightly, her fingers fluttering across the clothing rack again. "How about this one?" She asked, showing him a brown hoodie with fluffy rims. "Seems like a new design."

He tilted his head as he place his hand on his chin thoughtfully. "Hm... I don't know, since you've never seen it before, how about you try it?" He said, still smiling.

She looked at him with surprise. "I thought we're getting you a hoodie?"

He smirked, knowing how jealous Frisk would get when she saw him wearing his hoodie. "Eh, why not we spice it up?" He replied, winking.

Her face broke into a smile as she slipped the hoodie on. "Hey Sans, how do I lo-?"

Before she could reply, Sans jokingly pulled the hood over her head and pushed her slowly towards the mirror. "See for yourself!" He said cheekily.

Slightly startled by his actions, Frisk slowly pulled her hoodie above her eyes so that she could see her reflection. This hoodie was also unique like the previous panda one, instead it resembled a cat. Two triangular brown flaps were sewn on the top of her hood to resemble ears, the edge of her hood was covered with fluffy rims that tickled her cheeks, the jacket was of a lovely shade of chestnut brown and there was even a small tail dangling from the back of the jacket.

"Aw, that looks cute on ya, kit-kiddo." Sans had to stop himself from blushing as he nearly called Frisk a 'kitten'.

Hearing this made Frisk swiftly plan a comeback. She turned around slowly, her hands in a cat-like position as she purred in a rather high-pitched voice. "Meow?"

His blue eyes widened at the utterly adorable sight of Cat Frisk as his cheeks blushed a bright shade of azure. Face-palming himself in an attempt to hide the flush on his cheeks, Sans mentally scolded himself for choosing this hoodie, of ALL hoodies, for Frisk to put on.

Seeing that her comeback was successful, Frisk stepped closer to the blushing white-haired boy, lightly tapping onto his nose. "What's wrong, Sans-aniki~?" She smirked, using the pet name that she often addressed him with at home. "Am I cuter now~?" She questioned him cheekily.

Sans did not move an inch, only whispering, "Let's try another one, kiddo."

"Okay!" She replied cheekily, prancing away from him.

As he heard her footsteps to the next clothing rack, Sans pulled his hands off of his face before sighing loudly. At such a rushed rate, she would have realized his crush for her by now. So much for keeping it a secret.

Just roll with it. And hope and pray that she doesn't know.

"Well, that was fun!"

Sans tried his hardest to turn his attention from the dancing girl beside her. After realizing that most of the hoodies in the cute store were not for him, Sans eventually decided to buy a hoodie that had the same color as his previous one, but with white fluffy rims at the hood. He wore his new hoodie while Frisk's cat hoodie stayed at the bottom of the shopping bag in his hand.

"I'm really glad that we came here today!" The human girl chirped as the exited the store. "There were so many new clothes designs today! Some of them even looked like different types of Pokémon!" She giggled as she did a twirl.

"They sure did, kid." Sans chuckled, calmly walking behind her. "You kept pestering me to wear this one that looked like... what was that yellow Pokémon again?"

"A Pikachu!" She replied enthusiastically. "The cutest mouse Pokémon out there! Oh, I think I saw this new cosplay costume of Mew Mew Kissy Cutie too! Undyne and Alphys would love it there..." She mused. "I gotta bring them here before it gets dark!"

"Whoa whoa, slow down kid." The humanoid monster used his blue-hued magic to grab the runaway Frisk. "It's not like the store's gonna disappear tomorrow, y'know?"

"Alright," Frisk nodded, turning her attention back to the sidewalk that headed home. Cars sped past the duo on their right, while others waited patiently at the crossroad ahead.

As Frisk happily skipped in front of him, Sans began to think, his mind starting to wander. Back there at the clothes store, did Frisk do those actions on purpose? Just so that she could tease him? Similar to how Sans annoyed Papyrus with his puns, Frisk often teased and joked around Sans with that bubbly cheerful persona that she developed after leaving the Underground. Most of those incidents involved things that were small to her, and yet this time did not feel like those other times.

Or at least, that was what Sans thought. He pinched his nose bridge and closed his eyes, sighing softly in frustration. Quit thinking about it Sans. You know that it's not going to happen. Someday, somehow, Frisk will find some other human guy that's way better than the lazybutt that you are and then you'll regr-

"SANS, LOOK OUT!!"

His eyes snapped open to the sound of multiple car honks. His mind froze, his heart skipped a beat, he could not move a muscle.

Everything happened in bullet time.

Frantic footsteps creating tremors beside him.

A force that pushed him sideways.

Till he was off of his feet and in mid-air.

Collapsing on soft ground.

Falling, falling. Tumble, tumble.

THUMP!!

His heart pounded hard in his chest, countless gasps of air escaping his mouth. Cold sweat drops dripped from his forehead to his ears as he very slowly opened his eyes again.

His blue eyes met with brown ones. Tearing brown ones. The saline drops fell on his cheeks that were streaked with blue. Her face was slightly red too.

Then it was her cry that broke the silence.

"What were you doing, you idiot?!" Frisk wailed, her fingers crunching up the grass beneath her hands. "I called out for you to stop, and you just continued walking!!" She clenched her teeth as more tears escaped her eyes. "What were you doing?!"

Sans' head felt fuzzy from what had happened, his mind only trying to convince him that Frisk's body was not hovering over his. "I... I..." He stuttered.

The girl slowly wrapped her hands around his neck to silence him, her figure suddenly resting on his, as if they were hugging, but at an odd angle. "Don't do that again, Sans." She cried into his chest. "You could've gotten killed. And I don't want to lose you like that, or ever!"

"F-Frisk..." Sans muttered, feeling the warmth of her chest against his. His face was as blue as a blueberry, yet his mouth was curved with a frown. How could he tell her now?

The sun began to set as Sans regained his composure.

"G-get up, kiddo." He gently nudged the weeping child. "We can't have people seeing us like this."

Frisk sat up gently and obediently, her eyes red from crying. Sans also stood up from his lying position and sat cross-legged in front of Frisk, his face still a bit blue.

Fortunately, she did not notice. "What were you thinking of?" She asked quietly.

Sans was caught off-guard. "What are you talking about?"

"Sans," she said firmly. "I know that closed-eye look that you had; you were thinking of something." Her face got serious. "What were you thinking about that made you ignore everything else?"

Sans lowered his head shamefully. Part of him wanted to tell, another part of him feared if he did.

"I mean, you don't have to tell me now, if you really don't want to." Frisk added. "But remember what you promised me when we came here?"

His mind recalled those words that he said to her as he recited it again. "No more secrets."

"Right," Frisk sighed. "So that means, if there's anything you need to talk about-"

"It's not that I don't want to," Sans blurted out. "I'm just wondering if I can." He turned away. "If I'm brave enough."

The human girl placed her hand on his shoulder, gripping it tightly.

"Sans," Her voice floated with sympathy. "I believe that you can. I know that you can say it." Her other hand turned his head around to face her. This startled him. "You are brave, and I've seen it." She smiled. "So don't let that one issue get in your way. I'm not stopping you, just say it."

Her voice was filled with so much care and affection and warmth that Sans could not stop himself from raising both of his hands to grab her face and tug it towards his. His lips positioned right at hers, he pulled her into a small kiss.

It only lasted for less than a minute, before he let go of her and she moved away. Her cheeks were scarlet red, and Sans watched as her fingers touched her lips delicately before she spoke again.

"What was that for?" She was too soft for Sans to hear her.

The human-skeleton only kept his eyes focused on the grassy floor, and dared not to look at Frisk. "That was what I wanted to say." He whispered.

Minutes turned into hours. A chilly breeze swept past them and picked up the littered leaves on the floor.

"What?" Frisk said, breaking the silence.

"That was what I was thinking about on that road." Sans replied, his cheeks turning into a darker shade of blue. "I was wondering how would I confess to you, Frisk."

"Confess what?" She sounded as if she was afraid to know the answer.

Sans heaved a huge breath, turning to her before speaking. "I-I love you, Frisk. I don't know how else to say it. You've always been so sweet and kind when you were a kid, and now even as a teen," He sheepishly smiled. "Gosh, you've only become even more beautiful. And I, I just didn't know what to do whenever you were with me, my mind would just go blank." He gestured with his hands, chuckling before he frowned again, turning away.

"I understand if you don't accept me. Especially after that damn stupid thing that I did." His left hand covered his eyes for a moment. "I know there's someone better than me in the world for you. And the same for me, so-"

"Yes."

His head jerked when he heard her finally talk. "W-what?" He asked, turning to her again.

He was greeted by a wide smile from Frisk. "I-I said, YES!!" She screamed before throwing herself onto Sans, coiling her hands around his neck again. "This is the best day of my life!" She sang out.

Sans was utterly taken aback. "W-what-?"

Frisk laughed. "Silly bonehead," She teased. "I love you too."

Hearing those words lifted such a weight off of Sans' back that his worried face instantly broke into a smile and he tightly hugged the human girl in front of him. She giggled as her hands wrapped around his neck pulled him closer. After a while, the both of them pulled away and they looked lovingly into each other's eyes.

"I love ya, my little kitten." Sans smirked.

Frisk giggled again. "I've got to wear that hoodie more often then, Sansy."

His hands trailed along her jawline as he pulled her in for another kiss.

"Happy New Year, Sansy." She said sweetly as the sun dipped below the hills.

"Happy New Year, kitten."
