Shock [2]

"Wow... So, you got all the boxes ready, huh...?" Frisk murmured, staring around Papyrus' empty bedroom later that day. She and Sans had actually just returned from Grillby's, just as Papyrus seemed ready to go. Papyrus also stood standing next to her, staring around his empty room in wonder.

"IT'S CRAZY TO THINK I'VE LIVED HERE MY WHOLE LIFE AND TO THINK I'LL NOW BE LIVING SOMEWHERE ELSE... IT'S... IT'S KINDA SCARY... BUT, WOWIE! I REALLY AM EXCITED TOO!"

Frisk giggled. "Yeah, it does seem quite exciting... We're gonna miss having you here though, especially Sans..."

"I KNOW YOU WILL, HUMAN... SPEAKING OF WHICH, WHERE IS SANS?"

"Uh..." Frisk pouted in thought, trying to think of an excuse.

She knew that Sans had gone to his room alone. He said that he had needed some time to himself, with Papyrus leaving and all... Frisk wanted to protest, to say that he should give his brother at least a hug goodbye before he goes... It's not like he was going to be gone forever. They were still going to see him now and then... But Sans seemed pretty set on it, seeing as he was in a sulky mood.

"I think... He might have stayed at Grillby's." She shrugged. Papyrus frowned.

"O-OH... I SEE... WELL, PERHAPS I'LL SEE HIM WHEN I COME BY TO VISIT AGAIN IN A COUPLE OF DAYS! YES! I SHALL DO THAT!"

Frisk slowly nodded. "Yeah, we'd like that." She replied. Bending down, Papyrus pulled Frisk into a hug. Beaming and feeling a little emotional, Frisk gave her skeletal friend a hug back.

"Good luck at your new house with Mettaton!" Frisk said over his shoulder. Papyrus nodded.

"GOOD LUCK WITH LIVING WITH MY LAZYBONES OF A BROTHER. I KNOW YOU TWO WILL BE OKAY..."

"Haha. We'll be fine. But not as fine without you, Papyrus." She said, as they both pulled away from the hug. Papyrus managed a small smile, as he stood upright and started to make his way out of the room. Frisk had one last look all around his room, until eventually she decided to leave also.

Coming to the front door, she opened it for Papyrus and gave him a wave. Just as he was about to step out, a voice was heard.

"hey, bro!" Sans called. Frisk and Papyrus, turned in surprise to see Sans, standing uncertain in the hall. He was wearing his hood over his head from his blue jacket, and looked as if he wasn't sure if he should be there or not.

Slowly walking over, with his hands in his pockets, he smiled. "good luck..."

Looking like he was going to burst into tears, Papyrus suddenly picked Sans up into a hug. Sans chuckled, as Papyrus started to well up.

"I'LL MISS YOU SANS! I KNOW WE'LL STILL SEE EACH OTHER NOW AND THEN BUT... I'LL MISS LIVING WITH YOU!"

"i know... i'll miss livin' with ya too." Sans quietly replied.

They all stood quietly, for what felt like forever, until Papyrus finally put Sans back down onto the ground. Frisk rose her eyebrows in surprise, seeing that Sans had actually started crying! Frowning, she slipped her arm across his shoulders and leaned her head against his. She smiled up towards Papyrus.

"Well... See you." She waved. Papyrus managed a small wave and a teary smile.

"GOODBYE YOU TWO." He answered. As he turned on his heel, Sans sadly stared after him, seeing him trudge down the pathway. When Papyrus was eventually out of sight, Frisk finally closed the door, still keeping her arm across Sans' shoulders.

"Come on you... You need to rest..."

"i'm fine..." He mumbled. Frisk rolled her eyes.

"Sans, you are NOT fine! You're crying!" She pointed out, which caused Sans to pull his hood further down over his face. Frisk exhaled.

"Alright... Tell you what, you don't have to sleep... We'll go into the living room and watch a movie or something." Frisk suggested. When Sans didn't answer, she took that as a 'okay' and lightly pulled him along to the living room.

When she had got the choice of movie set up, she sat next to Sans on the couch and wrapped a blue coloured blanket around the two of them, with a bowl of popcorn in her lap. She couldn't have imagined anything more cliche than this - but she just wanted to be there for Sans... He said he was going to be okay but... Saying goodbye was never easy. Even if it wasn't going to be forever.

Sitting on the couch, it had probably only been 20 minutes since the movie had started, and already, Frisk could hear Sans lightly snoring on her shoulder. She managed a small smile.

Frisk decided that she herself, was starting to get a little tired and thought maybe it was best to just switch off the movie and go rest. Just as she was getting up, she suddenly felt Sans grab her arm to stop her. She rose her eyebrows in surprise and turned her head to look at him. He looked sad, no, lonely. Frisk frowned.

"Sans... I'm just going to turn off the movie... It's okay, really." She tried. However, Sans didn't let go. She exhaled.

She had never seen Sans like this before... Usually he was so confident and calm. But this... This wasn't like him at all.

"Sans... He's going to be okay... You don't need to look so worried! Mettaton WILL take good care of him. I can promise you that..." She said, kneeling down so they were now the same height. "Oh Sans..." She mumbled, pulling him into a hug.

"he's my brother... i can't help but worry about him..." Sans muttered over her shoulder. She slowly nodded, understanding.

"Yeah... Yeah, I know. I know you've looked after him like, ever since Gaster disappeared and you were kids but... He's got to go on and do his own things now. He may seem like he's quite... Eh, simple but... I think he's more smart than everyone makes him out to be. He needs to see things for himself now and work things out for himself. Even if he does something wrong, Mettaton will be there to point him out on it. Don't you worry. I know for certain he'll be okay. It's you I'm worried most about right now."

She pulled away from the hug and looked right into his white pupils. He frowned, avoiding eye contact with her and just stared at the floor.

"Hey." She said, taking one of her hands and placing it on his chin. She angled his chin towards her so he was now facing towards her and he rose his eyebrows a little. Smiling, she leaned forward and placed a kiss on his mouth. Sans seemed a little surprised by this at first, but then seemed like he started to relax.

When Frisk had eventually pulled away, Sans' expression was a little less tense than before. She smiled.

"Now, come on. You're tired, I'm tired. We honestly should rest. You'll probably feel better in the morning. I'm sure it's just the state of shock hitting you that he's moved out." She said.

"y-yeah... i guess you're right kid... s'pose we should just sleep huh..." He calmly replied with a nod.

Placing her hands on his shoulders, she carefully picked him up from the couch and slipped her arm across his shoulders, leading him out of the living room and down the hall, towards his room. Putting her hand on his doorknob, she pushed open the door and led him inside.

"Geez, Sans. You really need some windows in here or something..." Frisk murmured under her breath, flicking the switch on the side of the wall. Sans flinched, with the sudden change in light, but then started to relax again when his eyes became accustomed to it.

"Alright... C,mon..." Frisk lightly said, leading him across the room to his bed. Without protest, he quietly led down on his side and just seemed to stare into space. Frisk exhaled.

"You know what? Stay here, I'll be back in a minute." She said, quickly rushing out of the room. Confused, Sans laid staring after her, wondering just exactly where she was going. Not so shortly after, she returned dressed in her blue pale pjs, with a pillow and blanket in hand. Quickly, she scurried over across the room and placed her pillow and blanket on the bed, beside Sans and laid down next to him.

"It's going to be okay, Sans..." She muttered, putting her arm around him to pull him into a hug. He managed a small, sad smile.

"i know.... i know..." He replied. Frisk smiled and placed a kiss on Sans' forehead.

"Now, go to sleep. You really need it... I'm starting to feel a little tired myself too..."

"heh... a'right kiddo.... g'night..."

Frisk beamed. "Night, Sans...
