Meeting Dad

Being able to talk to people allowed was never my forte... behind a screen was much suitable for me.

Behind a screen I could be completely me and people could love me or hate me for it.

Behind a screen I am comfortable, because if I told you a lie you would never now if it was the truth or not.

So when it's mother's birthday and I decide to surprise him with lunch and a gift, I'm actually shocked to see he had a visitor other than his friends.

Standing beside mother was someone so much taller than him and dark-boned, I didn't know what to do, what to think! How would I even approach them! I couldn't jut walk up and interrupt them!

So I watched them waiting for this stranger to leave, noting the stranger's looks, he had glitches just like me! Tears just like me...

Should I just walk up and talk to mother and ignore the stranger? I didn't want to talk to the stranger... it was unavailable if I did walk over to Mom.

The stranger leaned down and whispered something to mother. Mom tensed and looked up to him with a look I've hardly ever seen on him.

Fear.

Mom touched his shoulder and I shuddered, watching the stranger's glitches move erratically. He made a pained face and Mom watch him worriedly and he pulled his hand back.

They spoke some more before the stranger grabbed Mom's chin and kissed him on the lips.

I gaped, Mom leaned into it! HE LEANED INTO IT!!!

My face flared with color. Oh god! I should've looked away! But I couldn't! I  really wanted to though!!

When they pulled apart Mom's face was bright yellow, he held his cheeks and smiled at this stranger, it was this big dopey, love-sickened smile.

He gave mom a nod and they both turned to me, Mom froze, but the stranger continued onward like he hadn't seen me.

I dropped my birthday gift for Dream and heard it shatter. Pain exploded throughout my body, originating from my foot.

I ignored it as the stranger paused, he lagged, and jumped back from the sound, he eyed me like I was mad and shuffled onward to the exit.

Dream rushed over to me.

"Rem!" He hesitated on what to talk about. "Just let me explain..."

"What's there to explain?" I smiled dopily and nervously.

Dream grimaced.

"Rem..." He reached for me, I let him pull me in and hold me as I tried to make sense of the whole situation I just witnessed.

"Who was he?" I asked. Dream tensed and shuffled pulling back. His hands awkwardly rested on my shoulders.

"Uh... Your father."

I stared at Dream and spun around, the monster was long gone. "What was his name? Who is he? Why didn't I know about him?" I asked question upon question.

"Woah! Woah! One at a time Rem." Dream blushed looking down.

"Oh... Rem what's this?" He notice the gift I would've given him.

"It was that glass tea set you wanted..." I scratched my skull as he kneeled down to it.

"Aww, come on let's clean it up and we can talk at home." Dream offered.

I didn't have any complaints, well one, "I dropped it on my foot..."

I sucked in my lips finally letting the expression spread across my face.

Dream smiled wearily at me and helped me limp to a chair as he tried to find a Janitor to help him clean up the glass.

A/N: This character, Rem, belongs to Andrewture, I really like Rem and I wanted to write about him, so even if he may be a little off I think I pulled off my interpretation of him quite well, with what I know I mean! Also should I continue this?
