frozen, part 1 (dream&NM)

(Why do I keep doing this to myself? I'm just going to do this XD don't judge me...)

After a long day of taking ice form a frozen solid lake up in the cold mountains, they got back. The men circled around a campfire, their loot in the background, kept frozen by the weather. The men were warming up around the fire, their song still ringing between the mountains, telling the story of a frozen heart. The story of a young prince, frozen in place, trapped in a stone prison by his own brother. An adventure, a story of love and hate. This is the story they are telling with their song. That's the story i'm going to tell you.

The story starts there, on the top of that specific mountain, with another group of men. They sang the song of a powerful magic, hidden in ones soul. In that group was a kid, about 7 years old, who loved the song. He believed the story it told and he sang it in the village, spreading it. Everyone else thought it was that, a song, a story, but if they only knew how wrong they were. The kid, named ink, kept believing it, taking it with him as he grew up. He was an orphan and traveled a lot on his own, mostly going into the forest to play. There he found someone who wanted to take him in as their son. He settled in with them and kept a living in the forest.

During his story another started. In the castle royal twins were born, one with a soul as pure as gold and the other a soul as dark as the night. Their names? Dream and nightmare. They lived a happy live, they had everything they wanted. When the two reached the age of 5 a secret came to the surface. Nightmare seemed to have a special power, giving him a second form that was twice as powerful. Dream and nightmare liked to play together. Nightmare was good at climbing, especially in his stonger form. He had tentacles that could help him climb. The two played in the forest and around the village.

Though their fun ended on one, seemingly normal, night. Dream wanted to play, not tired enough to sleep. Nightmare was almost asleep until dream woke him. "Nightmare, brother, wake up!" Dream and nightmare shared a room and dream was now bounching around nightmares bed. "No, dream, go to sleep." Nightmare mumbled, not wanting to get up. "I can't! I'm to bored!" Dream said, climbing onto nightmares bed. "C'mon let's go play!" He said and nightmare looked at him. "You want to play?" Nightmare turned to his powerful form and lifted dream with one of his tentacles. Dream squeaked and smiled.

Nightmare got out of bed and put dream down, who already headed to the door. The two left the room and played tag in the halls. The twins played through the night. The two had fun until something happened. Nightmare had warned dream not to run down the stairs, but dream, being full of energy, ignored his brothers advise and ran down the stairs. He tripped and fell. Nightmare send his tentacles to save his brother, but shot through the side of his skull in the process. Nightmare got dream back to the top of the stairs. He was in panic, seeing the crack on the side of dreams skull. His dark magic filled the hallway as an outcome of his panic, the hallway was dark with almost no light. Nightmare called out for their parents. They came out, since their room wasn't to far away. They searched the dark hallway until they saw dream and nightmare They gasped at the sight of nightmare in his powerful form, holding dream, who was close to being unconscious. "What happened?" Their father asked. "It-it was an excident, we were playing and he fell. I tried to catch him, but I hit him. I'm sorry dream." Nightmare held his brother close.

The king quickly looked through the library, looking for an old book. He found it and opened it. The language was unreadable, but a map fell out. Their parents took the two princes to the forest and to a group of people that knew a lot about healing. The king called out, asking for help in the middle of the forest. A small figure had followed them from about halfway through the forest. Ink hid and listened to what the king asked. Ink smiled as he saw the group come out and their leader, someone called science or sci for short, walk up to the royal family. The group gathered around the them as sci looked over the now unconscious prince. He healed the crack in the skull till it was only a small scar. He asked the king and queen about nightmares powers. The king told him that he was born with this strong power. Sci told them that nightmares power can be beautiful when combined with the power dream has, but can be dangerous on it's own. This concerned the king and queen. Dream was yet to find his powers and nightmares would be unstable without them. Sci said that it would be best to keep it a secret until dream got his own power. Sci replaced all memories from dream about nightmares powers so he wouldn't try to get nightmare to use them again and maybe get hurt even more.

Someone of the group had seen Ink in his hiding spot. Ink hadn't seen them walk up to him until they were in front of him. He looked up at the goat lady that was standing in front of him. The goat lady smiled at him and knelt to his level. "Hey there Ink, where have you been?" She asked, in a loving tone. The goat lady, named Toriel, had a love for children. Ink had been adopted by her and saw her as a mother. He was often to sing the song, the story of a frozen heart. She heard his song, just like the other in the group, they knew the story and believed in it just like ink does.

The royal family had gone back to the castle after the visit. The king had the gate locked, staff got less, windows closed. All until Dream got his powers or Nightmare could control his without Dream. They kept Nightmares powers hidden from everyone, even Dream. Dream and Nightmare got separated rooms to keep it that way. Dream didn't remember anything. He was sad that they got separated. Nothing happened, right? They got along just fine, right? Then why did they get separated? Thoughts went through Dreams head. He didn't know anything. His brother, Nightmare, knew all the answers to Dreams questions, but couldn't give them. He had locked himself in his room, not even getting out to do anything anymore. He didn't want to hurt anyone. He was scared of himself, of his own power. Scared that he might hurt someone again. He didn't want to harm anyone. The fear he felt was only giving him more and more power. He got a sweater to hide in and hide from the world if he wanted to and it got a good use when Nightmare was sometimes almost forced into what he called "his aggressive form". This happened multiple times and it took him by surprise sometimes. Nightmare thought of himself as broken. He had wrecked his complete room when he was forced into his aggressive form, not being able to keep in the darkness of his soul.

Dream became more lonely the more he and Nightmare were kept apart. It didn't help either of them. Dream wouldn't be able to find his power that would be connected to the opposite of Nightmare's. He would find his power in true happiness, but now, with both the princes feeling lonely and scared, he wouldn't be able to find his own powers and they would never be able to live their old lives again.

(I know I still have the beauty and the beast thing going, but i'm using the movie to write that and i'm doing this from my head. Again please don't judge me!
See ya, Lisa)
