It Stops Here [32]
The moment that bullet was fired out into the air, it was almost like the world had gone into slow motion. Frisk was frozen in absolute terror, not knowing what to do, how to react. Sans was crying out for her to move, while all her friends were doing the same. But she couldn't move. Her legs wouldn't work. Nothing would.
Is this how she'd die?
It was at that moment that the world came back to it's normal speed, and time felt like it stopped going on for an eternity. Just when Frisk had flinched, closing her eyes to expect the impact and the pain and the warm blood oozing from her open wound, she felt nothing. Instead, she heard a tiny commotion in front of her, and was surprised when she opened her eyes to see a small floating hand protecting her from the bullet. It was one of Gaster's magic hands!
Narrowing his eyes in fury, Gaster used one of his other magic hands to knock the gun out of Ajax's hand before he got the chance to use it on Sans. Ajax gasped in surprise as the gun flew from his gasp and through the air. "Undyne! Grab the gun!" Gaster shouted to her, throwing bone attacks left and right to knock a couple of the guards off guard - no pun intended.
"Right!" Undyne agreed, springing into action without even a second of hesitation. Gaster turned towards Frisk and shoved her towards Grillby.
"Grillby, go with Papyrus and keep Frisk safe! Don't let her out of your sight!"
"Of course. Be careful, friend." Grillby said and Gaster nodded. "Alright, let's go." Grillby spoke to Papyrus and Frisk over all the commotion, as they made their way to their escape.
"Let him go!" Undyne growled, aiming the gun towards Ajax who still had a hold upon Sans as they were slowly backing away. Gaster was meanwhile holding off any of Ajax's allies that tried to stop them.
"Stay back!" Ajax warned her. "Stay back or I'll... I'll... I'll break his neck!" Ajax warned her, taking Sans' skull into a tight hold as the skeleton tried to struggle against him. Undyne narrowed her eyes, placing her finger over the trigger.
"Ajax... Hand him over. NOW!" Undyne shouted. When he didn't seem to take the hint, Undyne and Sans shared a moment of eye contact and the skeleton nodded. She knew what she needed to do. "Suit yourself." She said. And with that, she fired the gun directly at them. The bullet flew towards Ajax and Sans, hitting Sans in the collar bone first before it went straight through him and it collided with Ajax's shoulder, causing him to cry out in pain straight after Sans. The two stumbled to the floor and Undyne rushed over to help Sans, apologising for shooting him.
"it's fine, undyne... let's just get to the others, please." Sans spoke weakly, earning a nod from Undyne in response who went to help him up, allowing him to lean against her for support as she hung one of his arms over her shoulders.
"Gaster! Come on, let's go!" Undyne called the skeleton who had managed to take down the last of his enemies. Gaster looked towards them and glanced to the grumbling Ajax who was going to pick himself up off the floor. He glared at him before going to answer the fish.
"You guys go. I'll catch up." Gaster told them. "Just got a bit of dirty business to take care of." He said. Understanding that he was going to deal with Ajax, the two went on their way to catch up with the others.
Chuckling, the evil human went to slowly lift himself up from upon the dusty floor. All the while holding his injured bloody shoulder that wouldn't stop seeping with warm red liquid due to the bullet wound that had been called by the fish monster. "What are you going to do now, Gaster? Kill me?" He smirked. "I know that you want to."
There was a long pause of silence from the pair. Ajax just stared at him waiting expectantly for his answer, while Gaster gave him that same blank expression. He was angry, but he wasn't looking for revenge. "No." Gaster simply said. Ajax's face contorted into confusion. "I'm not like you. None of us are like you." He spoke, narrowing his eyes. "The only thing you deserve is to rot away in a jail cell. And that's what you're going to get."
"Me? Arrested! Hah! Please!" Ajax laughed. "No one even knows that this place exists on the outside."
"I wouldn't be so sure if I were you." Gaster answered, catching Ajax off guard. "As we speak, the police and probably the FBI are going to come down here to put you behind bars. When I escaped, I managed to call for help. And I didn't just call my good friend for back up. But the police as well." Gaster grinned confidently. "Not only did you imprison us monsters, but you kidnapped the ambassador and threatened to put an end to her life. And it's all on camera." Gaster finished, pointing to a camera in the corner of the room that was watching them. Ajax looked furious.
Looking like he was about to shout in anger, he was interrupted when a door burst open, revealing a large group of armed men dressed in SWAT team uniforms. They pointed their guns at Ajax, warning him to get down on the ground. Growling at Gaster, Ajax went to put his hands atop his head, before being forced down onto his knees from behind by a couple of SWAT team officers. They kept him there while one of the men went over towards Gaster. He assumed he was the one in charge.
"Thank you for giving us the call." The man said, earning a nod of respect from Gaster. "It is diabolical to think that this is the man who was put in charge, and he had an organisation like this."
"Speaking of which, what's going to happen now that Ajax is arrested?" Gaster wondered with curiosity.
"He will no longer be in charge. This organisation will be shut down and we will have to ensure that nothing like this happens again." He said. "A couple of my teammates called and said they came into contact with your friends. They will be escorted out of the building to a nearby vehicle where they will be driven to the hospital. I'm guessing you would like to come along too?"
"Yes, please. If that is not too much trouble." Gaster nodded once more, thanking the officers for their assistance.
Growling under his breath, Ajax looked like he was about to struggle against one of the officers who were about to arrest him. He rose his hand to use some of the magic that he had stolen earlier from Gaster when capturing him, wanting to form a Gaster blaster. The moment Gaster saw one form out of the corner of his eye, he simply threw a bone attack at it with minimum effort and destroyed it.
"Don't mock me!" Ajax shouted, trying to throw a couple more attacks at Gaster, only for the man to simply dodge or deflect them with his own attacks, or the use of his magic hands. Defeated, Ajax was tackled by some of the officers and was forced with his hands behind his back.
Gaster couldn't help but smirk proudly when he saw Ajax get pulled away with the handcuffs placed upon him. All of this messy business was finally over. Ajax no longer had any power over their lives.
They could only hope that someone else would come to power that would be beneficial to both humans and monsters. Because this whole time with Ajax being in power had been nothing but an insane train wreck. It was finally over.
But now it was time to head to the hospital, for mainly Sans' health. Hopefully he would be okay.
