Happy End [35] -Final-

Sans and Frisk stood side by side, with the skeleton having an arm around her shoulder and holding her close, as they smiled at the sight of Toriel, Asgore, Asriel and Chara all in one big hug, crying their hearts out together, as they were just so happy that they were reunited with another member of the family. It was true that Flowey had been with them for awhile, living under the same roof as Chara, Toriel and Asgore. But having him back to his true self made them all extremely happy.

Now that everything was out of the way, Ajax was gone, Sans had moved back in with Frisk, and Asriel had returned, there was only one thing that was still on Sans' mind that he had wanted to do for quite a long time now. And that was proposing to Frisk. He just hoped that it wouldn't bother Frisk that he didn't exactly know any spontaneous places. He pretty much ended up eating at Grillby's a lot when it came to food.

Though, maybe she'd like the idea of being able to eat there. To her, this might have just seemed like a normal date. And then when she'd see him propose to her, maybe she'd like that they ate there because of the nostalgia. After all, Sans remembered the first time he had got to have a proper conversation with Frisk - even though they were mostly talking about his brother and echo flowers, they had eaten at Grillby's.

But when the day actually came for the date, he was so unbelievably nervous. He had told all his friends that he was going to propose to Frisk tonight, and seeing as not EVERYONE was aware of this information, he was tackled into hugs and good luck's by the rest of his friends and his brother. It seemed like they really did believe in him.

What was actually so kind of Asgore was that he lent Sans an old black suit that he used to own when he was around Sans' age. And it was actually in really good condition and it fit him pretty well. On the other hand, Undyne, Alphys, Toriel and Mettaton were all making sure that Frisk chose the perfect outfit to wear - as they were just all aware of how special this night was going to be to both of them, while Frisk had absolutely no clue.

When done messing with their outfits and checking if they looked okay, the friends all left to allow them to go on their date. Frisk laughed and waved them out the door, before hearing Sans come down the stairs and she rose her eyebrows as she softly blushed, as she was just lost for breath at how good he looked in a suit. Sans couldn't help but smile and blush cyan in return as he couldn't help but notice her staring.

"something ya like?" He teased, stepping closer to her and taking her hands into his as he gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Definitely. You look good in a suit." She beamed, when he pulled back to look at her face again. "What made you want to get all dressed up?"

"well, i figured this date was special, seein' as it's kinda like a celebratory date that we're able to be together again - even in public with ajax gone. so i just want it to be special." He said, telling a bit of a fib so she wouldn't be onto him. Though, in a way that kind of was the truth. He hadn't got to go on a real date with her since all that rubbish with Ajax started. It was good that they didn't have to hide anymore. "you look... outstanding too." Sans complimented her which earned a small giggle from her in response. "so, what 'cha say we go on with our date?

"Sure, I'd like that." She nodded, gladly holding onto his hand as she walked out the door with him, on their way to go eat at Grillby's.

Frisk thanked Grillby when he placed some food down on the table that she and Sans were sitting at together, sitting at opposite sides so it was easier to talk to each other and stare intently at each other as they spoke. She was surprised to see that not only was there a bowl of fries in the middle for them to share, but there were even things on different plates like different kinds of sushi and rice, with chicken chow mein, vegetable chop suey... She was mind blown to see so much food in one place. Not to mention this was mostly food that she had always wanted to try but never got the chance to - especially the sushi. What was going on?

"i think the food is made to be eaten, not just stared at." Sans couldn't help but tease which caused her to laugh in return.

"I'm sorry, it's just... What's with all this? Did you ask Grillby to make this?" Frisk wondered and Sans grinned.

"whoops, you caught me." He said.

"Sans... That's so sweet of you... All of this. Thank you." Frisk smiled. Sans nodded and beamed right back at her, before the two set into eating their food and breaking into conversation. It was relaxing and comfortable for once, unlike how the last couple of months had been. They didn't have to feel like they needed to hide away to love each other. They were allowed to show how much they cared about each other in the public eye now.

Anyway, finally the food was eaten and the plates were empty, and the two just continued on talking and talking, until they decided to get up from their seats and be on their way. When going to leave, Sans thanked Grillby and gave him a thumbs up of gratitude before going out the door. The date wasn't over however. Sans had yet to do the thing he had been so damn nervous about. And he knew exactly where to do it.

"hey, frisk, i got an idea. let's take a shortcut." Sans said, and before she even got the chance to reply, Sans had held onto her hand and teleported them elsewhere. It only took her a moment to realise where they were though. They were outside the cave in the mountain where the monsters of the underground had managed to escape from their prison. It was the place where they could watch the sun set when they had gotten out, and speaking of which the sun was actually beginning to set now. The perfect end to the perfect date.

"Woah... The sun always looks so pretty up here." She said which earned a chuckle and a nod from Sans in response. Seeing that Frisk was focused on the sun for a moment, Sans took the opportunity to build up the courage to just ask. He was anxious and he was scared, but he wouldn't know what the outcome would be unless he just did it. So...

"hey, uh, frisk?" Sans spoke, taking her eyes away from the sun. She let out a small "Hm?" to show she was paying attention and he went to gently take both her hands into his as he stared back at her. "listen... this day has been really amazing, and i'm so happy that you enjoyed it. because seein' you laugh and smile really just makes me the most cheerful skeleton in the world. you have no idea just how lucky i feel that i have you, and just how broken up i would have been if i had lost you completely. i love you, and no matter how many times i say it, i don't think it would show just how extreme my love is for you. before meeting you, i didn't exactly have a respect for humans. the idea of meeting one kind of made me feel a little... on edge. but then because i had to look after you, and i gave you a chance, i saw that you weren't that bad. i was glad to become your friend, to then fall in love with you and tell you how i felt, to then become your bonefriend." He grinned tearfully and Frisk couldn't help but giggle at the pun, while she too was feeling quite emotional from everything Sans was saying. She could tell that he meant every bit of what he said. But that wasn't even the biggest part yet. "but... i don't always want to stay as JUST your boyfriend, which is why i have something to ask of you." He said, and her eyes slowly widened, wondering if he meant what she thought he meant. And when he got down on one knee, and went to reach into his trouser pocket to pull out a box which he opened, revealing a ring inside, it only confirmed what she had thought. And there was no way she could stop herself from crying now. "frisk... will you marry me?" He asked.

Again, Frisk let out a small tearful laugh as she nodded. "Yes." She said, which only made Sans' smile widen while she held out her hand and allowed for him to slip the ring onto her finger. It was then that he stood up and she pulled him into the tightest hug ever, which he only returned as he too began to sob. "I love you, Sans. I love you so much." Frisk whispered. "Which is why I'm more than happy to be your wife."

"i love you too." He whispered in return, before they both shared a loving romantic kiss. He was so happy she said yes. He was so ecstatic that she actually wanted to spend the rest of her life with such a bonehead like him. And he couldn't wait to be able to spend years to come being married to her. He was the happiest skeleton alive.

And he would remain happy until the day he perished.

The End

Author Note: I hope you guys have all enjoyed this THIRD Undertale story that I've written! ^-^

The reason why I ended it here was because I felt like it was a nice place to put this third story to an end, and I'd be able to pick it up in a whole new book with another plot if one comes to mind.

Thank you guys so much for reading and for all the support. You guys are the ones who motivate me to keep writing in the first place. So I love to hear from you!

Anyway, stay awesome!
