Completely Vanished [5]

Another morning, another day. And it was spent just like any other.

Sans took awhile to get himself out of bed, not being the early bird out of him and Frisk. Luckily this time he didn't have to endure being shook to death by Undyne, as Frisk had warned her off to maybe just allow Frisk to be the one to awake him. Sans couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, thankful that Undyne decided to actually listen to  her.

Though, this day wasn't actually just going to be spent lazing around the house. In fact, today Frisk and Sans were going to make their way to Gaster's, while Undyne had decided she was going to Alphys' to help her girlfriend pack for the move that she was going to go through within the next week. The reasoning behind Frisk and Sans' visit to Gaster was partly just because Sans hadn't seen his dad in awhile and kind of missed him, while at the same time they wanted to try and see if they could help find the blueprints for that machine Frisk had mentioned.

After all, that machinery was quite a big deal, as it had the ability to restore life as long as you were able to somehow preserve the soul of the being that needed to be revived. Gaster had invented it a long time ago, before he had gone and disappeared into the void. It was actually thanks to Frisk that Gaster was able to even leave the void at all, because she had gone and found HIM when he was trapped. After that, he was gladly free.

So, being a scientist, Gaster's job was to try and think of new ideas and new forms of technology for humans and monsters alike. He helped make sure that the core, which had been extended over the past few years was fully functioning, as it was very beneficial to everyone on the surface.  It was almost like a trump card that really kept a lot of humans who were interested in technology, interested to allow monsters to stay up here. Because if they were helping humans technologically advance, then they didn't really seem to see any problem with it.

Unfortunately, you still had those who were really still bothered by the fact that monsters roamed the surface. But it's not like those people had a lot of power to do anything about it apart from protest and complain.

Anyway, thanks to Sans' teleportation, the duo were able to make it outside Gaster's in no time, Sans being the one to knock on the door when they reached it. There was a short pause, just waiting for someone to answer. After the short time span of waiting, the door was pulled open by a tall skeleton in a grey coloured sweater and jet black trousers. It was obviously Wing Ding Gaster.

"Sans! Frisk!" Gaster beamed, clearly enthused to see them as he took a sip of coffee from the mug within his hand. "I wasn't expecting you two to drop by today. Could have at least left a message." Gaster chuckled as he stepped aside, allowing the two to come in.

"sorry if you're busy, G. we woulda left a note but we just figured, eh, you were probably feeling pretty 'bonely' as it's been awhile." Sans joked. His father grinned, clearly amused by the pun as Frisk giggled a little herself.

"Well, I was only just reading a few books on scientific theories. But luckily for you two, I wasn't doing anything majorly important so I have the free time to chat." Gaster said.

"nice. well, we did drop by to see you. but we also dropped by because..." He trailed off and looked to Frisk expectantly, waiting for her to explain it to him.

"Oh! Well, Alphys told me how that machine you made and gave to her recently broke. You know, the one that can restore a person's life after death? You only made it in this timeline." Frisk said. "But basically, we came over because we wanted to try and see if we could find the blue prints."

"The blueprints?" Gaster repeated with a small frown appearing on his face. "If I remember correctly, we already tried searching for them practically everywhere. And no matter how much we searched, we couldn't find them. Even went down into the underground to look through anything we might have possibly left. But nothing. Couldn't find a thing.

"well, it's worth a try, eh?" Sans shrugged. "after all, me and frisk were discussing just how much of a big deal that thing is. you never know how dangerous things could get up here, so it would be good to have the safety precaution of being able to be restored in case, you know... you get attacked by some fucking insane human." Sans growled.

"Well..." Gaster thought for a moment. "I suppose we can take another look around. But I don't know what good it'll do. I might just have to try and rewrite the blueprints. Problem is, it's been so long since I made that thing, I don't even remember how I made it." Gaster sighed. "But like I said, let's try our best to find what we're looking for.

****

"i don't think we're gonna find it, frisk." Sans admitted, after they had spent what had to be literal hours just trying to search for a piece of paper with doodles and writing on it. Of course, it was more important than just doodles and writing, but all that science-y mumbo-jumbo was just scribbles to Frisk.

"I don't understand..." Frisk huffed, shifting through paper after paper on one of Gaster's desks. "Where could it have possibly gone?"

"It may be possible that it went missing while everyone was still down in the underground... But if you want Frisk, seeing as it does seem that important, I'll poke around for the next few days and see if I can find it anywhere. If not, I'll try my best to see if I can come up with a new diagram of it so Alphys can fix it." Gaster suggested.

"Well... Alright, I guess that's all we can do for now." Frisk sighed. "Thanks for trying to help though, Gaster."

"You're very welcome, Frisk. You two can come by whenever, as long as I'm not busy with work."

"sure thing, G. we'll keep that in mind." Sans grinned. "you ready to go, frisk?"

"Yup." Frisk nodded, taking his hand in hers. "See you, Gaster!"

"see you, G." Sans said, before he and Frisk disappeared from his house in a blue flash of light, and reappeared within their living room. Undyne was no where to be seen, so it looked like she was still at Alphys' helping her pack. At least, that's the only conclusion the two could come to. "what now?" Sans wondered, looking over to Frisk.

"Hmm..." Frisk stood thoughtfully for a moment. "Well, I suppose we might as well just relax for the rest of the day... Seeing as I have to go to another one of those stupid meetings in a few days so... I want to relax as much as I can until then."

"w-wha?! another one?" Sans asked, confused. She sighed, nodding. "why so soon? i thought you only have them once every couple of weeks.

"I know..." Frisk sighed as she gave Sans an apologetic look. "I'm sorry, I know how much you must hate being home alone when I'm gone for hours."

"that's not really my biggest concern." Sans admitted. "i just don't want you to stress yourself out too much, that's all." He said, taking one of his hands into hers and giving it a reassuring squeeze.

"I know you always have my health at your concern. And I'm thankful for that." She smiled. "But sadly, because of the 'new guy' no one could come to an agreement. So we have to have another discussion..."

"i see..." Sans frowned. "well, like i said, don't stress yourself out too much, 'k?"

"I won't Sans, don't worry." Frisk replied in response as he had decided to pull her into his arms, nuzzling his mouth against her lips in a kiss. She happily put her arms around him in return as she smiled and closed her eyes, just allowing herself to sink into the moment. At least, until someone was heard clearing their throat and they both turned their heads to see Undyne smirking at them.

"you always just have to show up at the wrong moments, don't you?" Sans said as he rolled his eyes. However, the obvious smirk upon his face showed that he wasn't actually mad or frustrated as she herself let out a small chuckle.

"S-Sorry, we can c-c-come back later if y-y-you want." Alphys' voice said behind her, and they both jumped as they didn't even know she was there.

"very funny, al." Sans replied nonchalantly as the couple smiled back at them. "you two had fun packin' boxes?"

"Ngaaah, it was fucking boring." Undyne commented as she and Alphys went to crash on the couch. "But of course the fact that I was helping Alphys made it worth it." Undyne said, smiling towards her girlfriend who blushed and nervously giggled in response. Frisk honestly still found those two so adorable. "What do you guys want to do anyway?"

"Well, we were just going to relax." Frisk admitted. "Maybe we can play more video games."

"perhaps we can play more super smash brothers brawl." Sans grinned. "though, i don't expect to lose, undyne." He challenged with a wink, and Undyne growled in response, stepping up to the challenge just like he had hoped.

"Oh yeah, punk!? We'll see about that! I'll own your ass!" Undyne smirked as Sans chuckled casually, rolling his shoulders as he stood with his hands stuffed into his pockets.

"please, undyne. you're only going to have a bad time."
