Chapter 6: We want to escape? How?
Sky listened to Joseph intently, taking in as much information as she could. The first and the most shocking thing was that her body had indeed become a monster's. Joseph said how their body was made of ice and her eyes were two glowing, yellow orbs.
While Sky still couldn't believe it all, she did believe that they had become someone she and her friend from overseas had created.
Because only 2 characters she knew of had ice for a body and lightly glowing yellow eyes.
One of them wore a sweater vest with a brown and white diamond pattern, brown pants and black boots.
The same outfit she woke up in.
This just couldn't be a coincidence.
She had to be Maya the ice elemental.
"Are you a character you made?", Joseph asked Sky -startling her - who later stared at the ground with visible confusion on her face. She stayed silent, thinking about how this could possibly have been real. This was such an absurd dream with too many plot twists. "I…I think so.", she answered after a while.
Joseph's smile didn't disappear when Sky looked up again.
The second discovery was that everyone in the room had become one of their Undertale OCs. Sky could've never guessed, but Joseph straight up just asked everyone, like they had a hunch.
"So, I am a Nightmare OC, actually.", the skeleton began, looking Sky deep in the eyes. She connected the dots and took in Josephs similar appearance to passive Nightmare. Joseph smiled widely, "Are you also an Undertale OC?", they asked a bit louder for everyone to hear.
After Sky nodded— a bit hesitant to do so—, the others in the van agreed that they too were their OC from that Universe – or was it Multiverse? Omniverse?
They weren't sure whether this was pure chance though.
Another thing they discovered from another OC named Jaden, one of the children in the van, was that her body felt very 'numb' and that she felt like she was 'almost dying' when her body changed. For that to happen to a child was nothing but cruel.
Damn the person or the people who did this to young children.
Before the conversations could go on, the vehicle stopped. They didn't know where they were or what was happening, but the children shook like they were set out in the cold with no warmth whatsoever.
"Open it", a male voice said loudly from the outside, to which the door opened. The sudden light slightly blended the ice elemental, though her glowing orbs quickly adjusted. "OW!", a deep female voice yelled out in pain as she landed right in front of Sky, hands cuffed to the back.
"Shut it, demon", one of the soldiers came in— it was not Markus, him not being in sight whatsoever— and cuffed the newcomer to one of the unused seats, not far from Sky.
The ice elemental took her appearance in. She was a teen— she still wasn't sure of that— skeleton with white fading to blue hair, wearing a crop top, skirt and boots. Her eyes were a beautiful light gray to light blue shade and her perfume stood out like a sore thumb, as it had a nice chocolate scent to it.
"Bitch, Look Out Next Time!! That Hurts Like Hell, Man!!", she yelled at one of the guards.
The female certainly intimidated Sky. She didn't like loud noises.
Nor did she like loud people yelling.
"Shut it", the soldier replied, holding a gun up against her head to which she complied. Though she didn't make an effort to hide her deep frown and murderous glare.
"How dare you look at me like that", the soldier hit her with his gun, her skull cracking ever so slightly. "You are not to speak until you get orders to do so."
"H-Hey, Laurence. Won't we get in trouble if we hit them without-", ''Shut it.", the soldier— Laurence as one of the other soldiers introduced— cut his mate off. What prideful people.
Sky didn't notice it before, but the teens beside her and the kids have been shaking just like she has. Somewhere even tearing up. "Pathetic, next time you make a deal with the devil, do it right and die.", Lawrence finished closing the doors, leaving everyone in the darkness of the van.
The kids sniffled loudly and soon started crying out loud. It was simply too much for children. Though, Sky also needed to focus on breathing after that. In the heat of the moment she closed her airways and tried to be as small as possible, without her even noticing.
"H-Hey, shhhhh, it's going to be fine", one of the white beast monsters said to the kids. He— Sky guessed by his voice, though she wasn't sure anymore— was smiling as kindly as he could, though having a dogs— or wolfs? — face didn't make it pretty nor did it make it cute.
A few of the kids flinched— if not all. The wolf—Sky decided to call him that— seemed to internally flinch or something, judging by the expression in his eyes.
"Hey, it's fine K.", the other dog person—who Sky dubbed doggo— comforts wolf. Wait, no, it's K now.
If they had their arms and hands at their disposal— aka, if those handcuffs weren't there—, doggo would've either patted wo–... K's shoulder or hugged him.
"I know, I know.", K sighed.
Sky looked at the kids again. They weren't crying loudly anymore, but sniffling, hiccuping and tearing up. It was a sad sight to behold.
This dream was cruel. Her imagination was nothing but cruel.
"MAN, FUuuaahahhhhhhhhhahahahahha..", one of the teen skeletons, one that had a similar appearance to a king or queen, yelled, quickly correcting themself and refraining from swearing. Sky didn't hear that skeleton speak much besides answering some questions or talking with their neighbors. Hearing such a sudden loud noise also had them on… edge? Nah, they were merely surprised and didn't flinch and tense all over.
Nah.
"Watch your tongue, mate.", said the skeleton next to them, who also had a feminine voice, so Sky will refer to her as a she. Was it a stupid thing to do? Perhaps. Perhaps it was very offending even.
She did it anyway. The others will correct her if she was wrong.
"Yeah yeah, but– like– what's even going on! I don't get any of this!", the royal looking skeleton continued yelling. The frustration in the room was growing and Sky couldn't do anything against it. She didn't study psychiatry or how to comfort people. She was an introvert for god's sake! She studied medicine and human biology and–
"I don't know", Joseph answered, interrupting Sky's inner thoughts, "but it's nothing good."
"Then Why Are We Still Here Doing Nothing!?", the newcomer skeleton yelled. "Did You People Do Nothing All This Time!? How Can You Be So Stupid And Not Notice That We Could Possibly Die If We Don't Flee!"
Sky was very happy that no soldier heard this. Well, maybe they did. Maybe there were hidden devices in the room, transfering every conversation and every move they did to some of the soldiers.
Maybe they were screwed now.
Even so, they had to act. "I-I'll try and freeze the vehicle in place.", was the first thing she said. It was her only idea at the moment. If she did become her OC, Maya, an ice elemental living a casual life in the Underground, twin of Niki, then she was able to help through using ice magic. Somehow.
(She ignored the rising danger of her dream. Of her being a character that was unable to survive for long without her other half. Without Niki. She ignored the rising feeling of anxiety in her chest, bubbling louder and louder for her to hear. She ignored it.)
"Are You Dense!?", the newcomer yelled. "We Will Die If The Vehicle Looses Friction! We Don't Know How Fast We're Going, Bitch! So Quit That Train Of
Thought NOW!!"
Sky shrunk in on herself. Getting yelled at like that in front of people was very uncomfortable, if not worse. Though, she wouldn't cry. She wouldn't.
The kids were another story though. They teared up even more at her temper, to which she simply scoffed.
"Language!", another female skeleton yelled.
Sky questioned her imagination.
"Then what are you suggesting we do?", Joseph asked the loud woman, his eyelights taking her every movement in.
"Well…", she started, not yelling surprisingly enough. "we shouldn't rely on magic. If you people can prove that you can use it without harming anyone here and by your own will, then we can plan those in. I suggest we don't try to stop the vehicle. Those assholes will notice if we do-"
"Language", the other female skeleton said again, sighing after. Sky dubbed her "Guardian" until she got a name, since she was pretty much guarding the children's innocence.
"Bruh Shut It.", the temperamental female retorted.
"But how will we get out without stopping the vehicle?", Joseph asked, curiously. "Yeah, if ya suggest we jump out, then ya need a therapist.", the blindfolded person with large horns and a head clipped to the walls said. It was a wonder how they were still alive.
Was that offending?
Perhaps it was.
"Shut It.", the skeleton repeated. "We gotta get the cuffs off first, you know? So we do that.", she said, rather quietly for her loud voice from before.
Sky questioned— not out loud of course— how she would get them off. Would freezing them even help?
"And how, if I may ask?" Sky looked in the direction of the deep voice. It was the adult with the freaky eyes and— She looked away almost immediately.
Look, talking and walking skeletons are one thing, but a person with black liquid dripping from their eyes? No, thank you.
"How Should I Know!?", the female skeleton yelled back again, the kids flinching again and looking at the dog duo for help.
"Oh well, I dunno, MAYBE BECAUSE YOU SUGGESTED IT?", the adult yelled back. If it weren't for the restraints, Sky would've left, holding their ears—wait, did Mayas design even have ears?
"G-Guys. C'mon mates. Let's–" "You Shut It! If You Have Anything Important Or Helpful To Tell Us Then— Oh So Please— Fucking Do! Otherwise PISS OFF!" This person really had a bad temper. She cut doggo right off when they wanted to resolve this peacfully. Sky sighed internally.
Sky heard of faint "Language.", coming from 'Guardian'. It sounded so defeated.
"Well it isn't MY fault the children are fucking scared of you! So, if you would ever so kindly shut the fuck up, we could talk about More Important Matters!", the adult shot back.
Both of them were more than simply pissed.
But through all of this, Sky felt her neighbour shake violently… again. She carefully glanced at Joseph who was trying to hold back chuckles and a full on outburst of laughs and happy tears.
But they couldn't and laughed louder than ever, wheezing to catch air. The others were startled and the argument came to a close as everyone stared at the Nightmare OC.
"Pfft-haha, s-sorry–haha–i-it's just that–hehehe– y-you guys are arguing over something like-like THAT and not talking about-haha- how to get out before we arrive! Hehe", they calmed down –somewhat.
Sky didn't understand Joseph's outburst on laughs. It didn't even sound… sane? Was that the right word? Well, at the very least it wasn't a laugh coming from something of good reason. Not from Skys view at least.
The room fell quiet, only the eerie silence and phantom like aftermath of the laugh remaining in the cell.
"Well, anyway", Joseph continued after whatever kind of outburst he had, "do any of you have any passive properties? Like perhaps something like acid on you or maybe a weapon that you do not need magic for to use."
The question was actually a helpful one. If perhaps someone had something on them that would help, they would have a chance to escape.
"My left eye has tentacles poking out, as you should be able to see. I can move them however I want, but leaving them still for too long is very uncomfortable. Regardless, they secrete a liquid that's like acid. The pH depends on my emotions though, so it should be even lower when I am angry.", the adult explained. "It doesn't damage me of course. Besides when the pH is too low or too high."
"Good. We got acid and perhaps a few extra limbs. How long can they get?", Joseph asked the adult. "Uhm, If I were to try hard enough, maybe I could reach my cuffs." "Great, try to break out and help us right after. What else do we got?" Well, the ice elemental was surely not going to look the adults way anytime soon. The Kids also avoided the sight.
Besides that, Sky thought about the question. Her body was certainly weak without—without her being whole. But as long as she had HP her body temperature should always stay under 32°F.
"W-Well uh", one of the children began. He—judging by the voice again— had a blueish aura around him and a cross-like scar on his forehead. "Yes?", Joseph asked, smiling brightly. "Well, I have a healing like aura around me. It should be able to heal others close to me, b-but I don't know if it's helpful." The boy shuddered. He surely wasn't prepared for something like this. It was admirable how well he's managing in such a situation.
Or Sky's imagination is just unrealistic and strange and making this kid brave and scared at the same time.
"Huh, that's actually great. If someone where to be damaged you could heal them.", Joseph said, still smiling brightly.
The kid smiled brightly as well, still shy, but certainly feeling better. It made Sky happy to see a child so full of hope.
"Uhm, well, I have hair that I can use like arms.", another child said. It was one of the two skeletons with long jelly-hair. This ones hair was a beautiful teal colour with a few white strands. She—Sky judged again— had a simple dress on, but the hair was cool nonetheless.
"Are they strong enough to hold heavy things like, let's say multiple adults?", Joseph asked the little skeleton. "I-I think so…", she answered.
"Ok, then–" "I'm free.", the adult from before swiftly interrupted, sharply inhaling at times. Sky looked at the tall monster who was kneeling on the ground. It looked almost like they were in battle and had to rest.
The car erupted in cheers and sighs of relief. The adult quickly got the restrains on the heavily restrained one, but Sky didn't dare watch. That eye was scary. Especially close up.
It didn't take long to get the blindfold and the cuffs off. The adult moved on to the winged fella, ready to free them as well, "Please free the children first, would you?"
The adult looked at the winged monster for a few more seconds until finally leaving them alone and going to the kids.
"Close your eyes or don't look my way, 'kay?" The kids complied and looked at Sky's direction instead, who also looked away from the scene. The gazes of the kids slightly unsettled her, but she managed.
"Lady! Lady!", one of the children said loudly. Sky didn't know who they meant, so she quickly looked out of instinct and curiosity. And—why exactly were the children all looking at her?
"Why are you bald?"
What?
It took Sky merely a second to understand what the kids meant. Maya, her and her friends OC, was mostly designed by her friend. They said that they didn't want to make them particularly pretty, nor did they want to make them look special. So their design was like an ice mannequin with no hair, wearing pants, a white fancy shirt and a sweater vest as well as some black boots.
Maya didn't need hair, so Sky was fine with the design.
But…
"..."
She wanted to throw the kids out of a nonexistent window.
But she couldn't.
The other prisoners laughed loudly, wheezed and made a huge ruckus. Well, the loud ones did. 'Guardian' showed a little bit of respect and held back her laughter as much as she could.
"Y-You guys! Don't ask people that!", 'Guardian' scolded, still trying to surpress her laughter. Sky appreciated the effort, smiling in her direction and finally sighing loudly.
Well, being bald, as the kids put it, wasn't that bad. Now she didn't have to wash her hair anymore.
She had to see the positive side of things.
Sky sighed loudly, looking at the kids direction, who were giggling happily as if they had just told each other an extremely funny joke – which it wasn't.
She didn't notice it before, but the kids were freed by then, which the ice elemental was glad for (– well, as much as she could at least. Sky was still a bit agitated.)
Suddenly the vehicle started shifting more than ever, as if the brake was pulled. The passengers—or prisoners— all shifted and pretty much flew around in the cell, especially the people standing. Those landed on the adult who hit the wall dangerously fast. They suffered from a concussion at least, if their defense wasn't great enough.
"Wh-What's Going On Now!?", the loud female skeleton yelled in surprise. "How should I know!?", K yelled back. "Did they find out?" "Mommy!!" "AAGGH!! FUCK THAT HURTS!" "We're going to die." "FUCK!"
The loud yelling soon became incomprehensible, as the vehicle came to a stop. Sky shook in place. She was frozen and listened to any new noises. Any dangers.
She heard, gunshots and explosions filling the air.
This dream was crazy–

A/N:
So, I decided to try and update on a monthly basis. Every month, one chapter.
I don't know how well this will work out, since I am a very moody writer and need motivation to feel even slightly creative.
Nice comments and feedback are a good way to help, if you want to see more. :)
Anyway, I hope this chapter was goodish. I tried fixing it up. Hope it worked.
And that's all I have to say.
So, 'til next time :>
