A Watery Surprise
I am immediately snapped awake by the sensation of water entering my lungs. Instinctively swimming up, I cough up the water that has traveled inside my system. The burning sensation wakes me up instantly.
I shake off the water dripping from my hair, wondering what happened when I passed out. Looking around, I don't see Clear anywhere. But I do see that we are in a pool. Had we traveled far?
*Thud
My ears perk up, hearing something hit the bottom of the pool. Looking down, my heart drops. There, at the bottom, lays an unconscious Clear. What do I do? What happened?
I try to reach out to her, forgetting that I'm so far away from her. Then, flinch back my hand. 'This is no time to fear that I'll touch her. She's drowning!'
Even though I think that just the thought I'll touch her sends a shiver down my spine. I instinctively want to scratch my back, which she grabbed when I was still in my fox form. That's it!
I climb out from the pool, standing on the dry marble flooring. I quickly close my eyes as I hurriedly shape-shift back into my fox form. Unfortunately, I cannot use Telekinesis when in my humanoid form.
I focus all of my attention on Clear inside the pool. Wondering how exactly I'll do this. Thinking back to the door I snapped in half, the sudden idea of wanting to get her out by using my magic plummets. I don't want to hurt or kill her.
I quickly think about what my oc is capable of doing. All of the powers I had given them back when I only thought of them as a story. Even if I don't want to, I have to accept this as the new reality. I'll never be able to return to my old one.
While rummaging through my head, I pause at a certain skill of mine. Although I didn't consider its power, it might just be what I am looking for. A stupid idea emerges. One that, I am glad I had given them and so unorthodox too.
Leaning forward, I put my mouth into the water. Releasing a breath of air, I hope to myself that this silly plan will work. After this, I'll need to practice my powers. I don't want to be useless when the same situation happens again.
*Slurp
I begin to drink up the water. Emptying the contents of it rapidly. The pool quickly drains out. Leaving only Clear at the bottom. I can taste the chlorine along with whatever landed inside the pool as it was uncovered.
If it was any other time, I'd probably spit it out. But strangely enough, it doesn't taste bad. No, I don't taste it at all. Like my taste buds aren't working. But, that has to be wrong. After all, I can taste the content of the water...maybe... it's that skill?
When making my oc, I wanted them to have an op stomach. Meaning, they can and will eat anything on sight and won't have any bad effects later on. Perhaps that is what is helping me here...
*Cough cough!
I hear Clear coughing up water. I am only now wondering how she is breathing. Maybe it's just how her oc works...I should stop questioning it.
I hop down into the pool. Landing just near Clear but not close enough to touch her. Despite everything, I fear hurting her and myself.
"Clear...A-are you fine? You almost drowned..." I ask softly. Hoping no humans saw what had just happened. After all, it's still morning here.
Clear slowly blinks. Their eye-lights are unfocused. She seems to be thinking about what I just said. Weakly, she responds. "I-I think so..." She coughs up a bit of water.
I breathe a sigh of relief. Flopping down. Making my already tiny fox form look even smaller. "That's good...where even are we? I remember running away from those...humans...how did we end up in a pool?"
Clear sits up, holding her head. She seems to be feeling for something as she shakily says "T-teleportation."
"Ah...you can teleport?" I ask. Feeling sad that I didn't add that power to my oc. Could have been useful. I look up, making sure no one is around before suggesting "We should leave. I don't know whose pool we are in. What if they come to check out the noise?"
"Yeah... don't know how to use it sadly and yeah we should go," Clear answered as she stands up. She closes her eyes for some reason when she stood up too fast.
I watch as she fumbles backward. Not sure what to do. "... You're sure you're okay? I can stand guard for a bit until you're fine." I suggest, wagging my tail a bit. Maybe she's still feeling disoriented from almost drowning.
Clear doesn't open her eyes as she shakes her head. "Just stood up to fast." She answered before stomping her foot on the ground. I watch her, not sure what she's doing. She opens her eyes nervously. "Uh, can you show me where the ladder is?"
"Ladder?" I repeat. Looking around the interior of the pool, I spot what appear to be ladders. "This way," I state, walking towards it.
I hear Clear stomp once more from behind me before walking. When I stand in front of the ladders, I hear her ask something curiously.
"Where did all the water go?"
"Oh yeah..." I laugh nervously. "I..drank it up," I say, not wanting to see her reaction. What I did was disgusting. I turn to look at Clear. Getting confused when she's going the wrong way. "...You sure you're okay? You're headed the wrong way."
"Yep!! I'm okay-"
*Slam!
Clear is cut off from her sentence as she bumps into the pool's flat surface. She confusedly touches it. Feeling that it's still wet. She doesn't seem to have realized what she's doing.
"Oh, and ew on drinking the pool water." Clear makes a funny face as she continues to feel the wall.
I laugh at that comment. "Guess it would be pretty disgusting. Huh?" I tilt my head in confusion. Only now realizing something. "...Pardon me but...are you blind?"
"What- NO! I'm uh. Dizzy. Yep! Totally not blind and can't use my echolocation for this is a stupid box!" Clear snapped, softly looking nervous, while trying to get to me.
I flinch back at her yelling. Wondering if she's lying or not. For now, I decide against asking again. Instead of jumping in place to make a sound. "The...the ladder is over here."
I keep in mind what she said about echolocation though. "...Are you part bat?"
Clear follows the sound of my jump, making her way toward me. She seems to be struggling through it. Once she eventually finds the ladder, she speaks.
"No. Fully skeleton. I just use echolocation to...do stuff."
"Oh. Like...see if there are people nearby? How does that even work?" I ask once she's close enough. Moving to the side before she nears the ladders. "Careful," I say when Clear is getting too close to the ladders.
Clear stops, confused. She seems to be thinking about my earlier comment. "Er, I guess? I didn't think of it that way. It's to simply 'see' objects, magic attacks, or people...I guess souls count as well." She responds without thinking.
Clear freezes up when she realized she might have said something wrong. She frantically tries to explain. "N-not like I uh use it a lot! I uh don't???"
"Er..." I stare at her with an 'are you sure' look. Although I am starting to think that perhaps she cannot see. I shake away the thought, keeping it for another time. "Anyways, I'll see ya on top," I say, hopping up very high and landing outside the pool.
I hear Clear sigh as she climbs up using the ladders. Her feet sometimes miss it and slip a bit. Once she gets out of the pool, she seems to have a moment of realization.
I wag my tail, making my already permanent smile even more. "Goodie! Let's get going then if you're sure you're okay." I say, even if I am not fully convinced of her lie. The sooner we leave, the better.
Clear nods. "Yeah- wait. Where is my bag?!?!" Quickly, she started to turn trying to find her missing bag.
Since she said it, I also notice her bag is missing. Looking around, I don't see it. Only realizing something bad..."...I think I drank it."
I hear Clear's eye twitch. From annoyance or being shocked, I am unsure. She pushes away whatever thought was plaguing her. "... Whatever. Let's go before humans find us." She sighed, walking past me.
Almost as if on cue, I begin to heave. Sort of like a cat with a hairball.
*Bleh!
The bag that was once in my stomach is now on the floor. Still wet from the water it was once bathed in. I nervously laugh. "Found it...hehe..."
Clear jumps from my action. She stares at her bag with a disgusted look. "Should I be saying ew or asking if you're a crossover of Kirby?" She questions before grabbing her bag.
I rub my mouth using my small paws. Hiccuping a bit. I blush in embarrassment. "Er...I'm not. Although that reminds me, I can store stuff. Eh..not in my stomach, of course..."
"Ok, that's a cool power," Clear says, before stomping her foot on the ground. "Wait where are we?" She confusedly asks, not recognizing the surroundings.
I look around, seeing a huge house that looks all fancy. We're surrounded by a beautiful green coloring of grass and colorful fences separating the pool and garden. I try to frown, not sure where we are. But failed to do so. "In some rich place." is all I could say.
"...Oh great." Clear sighed, looking at me. "Want to teleport? It would be easier because I can't tell if there are traps outside." She suggested.
"That would be great but..." I nervously rub my paws together. "...Would that mean touching you? I...I don't do well with a touching..." I state, looking down in shame.
*Bam!
Suddenly, a huge sound is heard coming from far away. I turn to look at the small hole just in front of me. Where Clear's bag once was sitting.
Clear quickly pushes me behind her using her bag. She intensely stares at where the shooter is. I follow her gaze, seeing they're hiding near a bush. I feel my nerves intensify as they prepare for another shot.
Without warning, a rumbling sound is heard. I hyperventilate as I watch the ground form a straight bump. In the end, a vine appears. I stare at it dumbly as it slams down at the gun. Knocking it away. 'Did...did I do that?' I think to myself.
"My gun!" The shooter exclaimed before glaring at the two of us. They needed their gun!
I felt uncontrolled magic forming from Clear as she glared hatefully at the shooter who spoke.
"W-we should get out of here. He-he doesn't have his gun now. Let's go before something bad happens or more humans show up!" I beg, shakingly staring at the vines disappearing. I didn't want to hurt him nor did I want Clear to hurt him. He must be the owner of this place and was just protecting his land.
Clear nodded, turning around to leave with me.

The human quickly ran, attempting to grab his gun. More humans are coming as back up which would be good for him. He grabs his phone, calling someone. But it goes unheard as he picks up his gun and aims it at both ocs. He fires a shot in the hopes of hitting at least one of them.
Wasn't he lucky...
