You glared at sans with fury but also with betrayal. "How dare you?" Your voice wavered with sadness as you glanced at the light blue soul he was carrying. "I-I thought you said that you won't kill them?" Sans sighed and gave you a sad but stern look. "(y/n). you have to understand. they did this to us and this is the only way to get out! I gave them a chance when they killed my brother but they killed our kids and that is crossing the line!" You scoffed. "Why don't you just get over them and wait foR ☝✌💧❄👈☀----

" ---and just leave them alone?! It's clearly did it for self defense! Plus they didn't even know what was happening!" "they are all the same! i want to free us all from this wasteland these cruel humans trapped us in!" You stood frozen for a little. You looked down and grabbed your crown. Sans shot you a look as tears streamed down your face. "... If they are all the same... If WE are all the same then you must not want me here." You threw the crown down as it made a clang. He looked at you, surprised. You turn around but he grabbed your wrist. "n-no... please, i can't lose another one!" You pulled your arm away. "No. I'm not going to let them die by the hands of you." You ran, trying your best to ignore his desperate calls. You just hoped that he will stop and maybe you'll return. You ran and ran until you got to the ruins. You opened the doors and shut it, locking it right after. You cried and cried. You already miss him but you can't stand the fact of him killing those innocent children. They didn't do anything! They might not even know about the event that happened. You curled up and sighed. You looked at the wedding ring he gave you. It was still on your hand. Even through all of that, you still can't stay mad at him. You still loved him.

You sat on the chair as the fire on the fireplace emitted both light and warmth. You looked at your hand. It was sans's birthday today. You really miss him but you just can't go back. He still haven't stopped. Tears appeared on your eyes. Every single children... They promised to go back to you... To set you all free but they didn't return. You could just imagine that he killed them. You couldn't stop them. You don't have magic like other monsters do and you don't want to harm the children. Even after all that though, you still forgive sans. You can't bring yourself to hate him even after what you did. Frisk, seeing your distress, walked over to you, sat beside you and looked at you with worry. You smiled reassuringly at them. "Don't worry child. You shouldn't worry about me. Just continue playing with your toys." They looked at you with a determined look. You chuckled. "Your one determined kid. It's nothing. It's just... About sans. I miss them." You looked to the side as a small smile made its way to your face. You remembered all the good times you spent with him. Frisk looked at you with confusion. You continued. "You already know that he is the king, right?" You didn't wait for a response, remembering that you had told them stories about him. "Well, I'm the ex queen..." You could only giggle at frisk's surprised face. "I came here because of an... Argument we had... I just can't stand it... Why would he do it? I-I...." You stopped, trying to hold back the tears from the memory. You cleared your throat. You felt frisk pat your back to try and comfort you. You smiled at their efforts as you continued the story. "Anyways, I came here and became the caretaker of the ruins. I always try to protect the humans that come through here and yet those efforts come to waste." You sighed sadly. "They told me that they will come back and my hope goes up only for it to crash down when they didn't come back. I guess that they have been killed." You smile. "But I hope that they enjoyed the moment when it lasted." Frisk looked up with a determined expression. "Do you still love him?" Their voice is quiet yet soft since they don't talk that much. You ruffled their hair. Man, they can be so adorable sometimes. "Of course I do. I just wish that he would stop killing those humans. If he would, then I will come back." You then felt them leave the seat and they looked at you. "I want to leave the ruins..." Your eyes widened. They smiled. "Don't worry, I won't get killed, PROMISE..." You bit your lip and hesitated. You sighed and nodded. You knew that you can't stop their curiousity and determination. "Alright, but I'll get you a few things, stay there." You stood up and went to their room and got a bag. You packed them a few clothes, gold and a med kit. You went out and into the kitchen. You got some steamy/cold (fav. Dessert) and packed it in the bag as well. You made sure it wasn't too heavy. You wanted them to be safe but also wanted them to not struggle with the bag. You went back to the living room and handed them the bag. "There. Now, I know that our friend behind the door will protect you right? Good. Now, are you ready?" They gave you a determined smile and nodded eagerly. You smiled back and grabbed their hand, leading them to the huge doors. You hugged them and kissed their forehead. You let go and watched as they went out. You were still worried but you let them go on. They had to at some point anyways. You sighed and walked back to the house not after looking back the door with a little hesitance. You went up to your room and sat on the bed, reassuring you that they are okay.

Sans's pov

I took a deep breath and broke the mercy button, starting the fight. I fired some attacks as the human just dodged. I sighed. It's all just the same. After this, they will be free. Maybe (y/n) will be grateful for me setting them all free? I highly doubt it. I sent some more bones and a few blasters here and there. The human got quite injured. They got their bag and brought out some food. Wait... Is that...? I saw that it was (f/d). It triggered a memory...

"Sans! Papyrus! Come on! Dinner's ready! I don't want to keep that (f/d) waiting if I were you!" Her voice called out, quite eager to eat some (f/d). She loves those. I chuckled at her impatience, got the wheelchair from the corner of the room and helped pap on it. "careful pap. You might fall." I warned as he stumbled for a little. He started getting weaker and weaker when we got underground. ☝✌💧❄👈☀was still trying to find out the reason why but for now, he has to be careful. He smiled. "DONT WORRY, I GOT IT." I pushed him to the kitchen and sat on my chair once he got to the table. I looked at the food and saw that it was (f/d), (y/n)'s favourite dinner. I looked at her beside me and she was smiling, excited. I chuckled and shook my head as we ate. "THIS IS GOOD (Y/N)!" Papyrus cheerfully said. I nodded approvingly. She chuckled and blushed. "Aw come on, it can't be that good!" I looked at her like she had just did something impossible. "are you kidding? everything you cook is delicious! dont be doubting yourself my queen." I lay my head contently on her shoulder. Her face turns red as she shoved me away playfully and chuckled. "You flatterer!" I chuckled. "why? can't i complement the most beautiful girl in the world?" Her face turns a darker red. "Oh hush you!" Papyrus chuckled. "YOU GUYS ARE SUCH A CUTE COUPLE!" I blushed blue. "aw. thanks pap."

I swallowed back a sob and looked away, trying not to remember. They perked up and looked at me. I closed my eyes and sent a few more attacks, missing them but not completely. A bone went straight to their arm. They gave a wail of pain. They looked really pained.

"no. papyrus please! just, stay awake!" I desperately pleaded, sitting beside his bed as the monitor's beeps turned slow. We found out that the humans poisoned him but we were too late. "S-sans, I'm s-sorry but I could n-not stay a-any longer." He coughed violently. "T-this is... The e-end for me... B-but not f-for the both o-of you..." He gestured to both me and (y/n). He winced but he tried to hold his pain. I gripped his hand and tried to calm down (y/n) as she sobbed, holding onto papyrus. "No it isn't! I-its still not the e-end for you p-papyrus! Stop s-saying that!" He smiled at the both of us and started to close his eyes. My eyes widened along with (y/n)'s. She stood frozen as my breathing got uneven. "p-pap?" His eyes closed as the monitor let out an ear-deafening beep. He started to turn to dust. We can only watch, petrified,scared and sad, as he said his final words...

"T-take care... Won't y-you?"

Me and (y/n) looked around desperately, trying to find napstablook and mettaton, our adopted children. They have been missing since last night and they had us worried. We got to the throne room and the scene in front shocked us. It was napstablook, carrying mettaton's metal body, well, the remains of it. It seems like he absorbed his soul. He put it down and looked at us. We can only watch, terrified. He looked at us, pain in his eyes as he started turning to dust. "M-mom...? D-dad..? I-it.... Hurts..." (Y/n) was quick to react. She kneed down beside blooky and held him, crying. I went beside her, trying to heal him but it's too late. He turned to dust as it scattered along the garden. (Y/n) cried and leaned on me while I tried to calm her down, holding my own cries.

...those humans will pay for killing them...

Tears fell down my cheeks. They reminded me too much of them. I was struggling to keep my composure. I looked at them and saw them glaring at me with determination.

You glared at him and tried to reason with him. He pressed too far as he watched you cry and run. He snapped out of his short trance and chased you, calling your name. He eventually fell to his knees when he lost you. He sobbed. He lost everyone he had. Now it was just him. He was left to reign and rule over the monsters with no one with him.

He hadn't noticed that he dropped his defenses and fell to his knees, sobbing uncontrollably. After a while, he felt someone hug him. He stiffened and looked up only to see the child trying to comfort him. He hugged back eagerly. He saw this kind of ironic since he didn't expect to see a child comforting an adult, especially himself but he cared less. I spent time crying, letting out all my bottled emotions from the past till now. I was worried that it was bothering them but they didn't seem to mind. I forced myself to stop and wiped my tears. I let go and stood up. I smiled at them. "h-heh... thanks for t-that kid." My voice was still wavering. They smiled at me. They went to their bag and handed me a half-eaten (f/d). As much as I wanted to decline and let them have it, I ended up eating it. I hummed. Just like the way she made it... I sighed contently. The child tapped me to get my attention. "what is it?" I asked. "Do you still love her?" They asked curiously. I chuckled. "of course i do... i just don't think that she likes me after killing the humans..." I gestured to the souls in the containers behind me. The souls glowed as they bobbed up and down. With a determined look, the child stood up and muttered something. I managed to catch a few words. "Wanting to.... them...together.... Fills....
.-th deter-....." They made a gesture with their hand, as if telling me that they have to go. I smiled. "sure. also, your welcome here all the time. i could use some company." They smiled and picked up their bag. They ran away. I sighed and went back to the throne room.

I looked at the flower patch at the corner of the room. That's her old mini garden. There are (fav flowers) mixed with buttercups. I took the gardening can and watered it, remembering that she hid something in these flowers. I put a hand inside the flower patch, trying to not damage it. I pulled out a small music box. This is the one I gave her when I proposed to her and she seems to love it because she always plays it when she feels down. I winded it as it started to play.

A sad melody was heard throughout the room. It was sad yet calming in a way. I sighed and put it beside me. I continued to water the flowers. I heard footsteps approach. I looked at the doorway to see toriel. She looks like she wants to say something but got cut off when she heard the music box. She looked at me and sighed sadly. "Look, your majesty-" "please, just call me sans." I said. She nodded. "Sans. Look, you have to move on. You haven't been over her for years now!" I frowned. "i know but it's just that... i can't. she was my everything when papyrus fell down and losing her is just.... well.... losing my everything. I can't replace her easily you know." I sighed. She smiled at me reassuringly. "Don't worry lazybones, one day, you'll surely find her and she better forgive you!" I chuckled. "Anyways, I'm just here to see if your alright. Don't want you to be sad right?" I smiled. More footsteps echoed throughout the halls. I reached over and turned the music box off and hid it back to the flower patch as a little goat went in. I recognized him as asriel, toriel's child. "MOM! CHARA STOLE MY COOKIES AGAIN!" a chuckle was heard "whaaat? I didn't!" Chara, toriel and asgore's adoptive human child went in with a teasing grin. Asriel huffed. I raised a brow as asgore, the royal scientist, went in. He saw me and immediately sweated. "Oh gosh, I'm sorry. The kids have been trouble and-" "it's alright." I reassured him. "i don't mind company. wait here, i'll get you some 'dogs" I said, walking back to the house. I got to the kitchen and cooked some hotdogs. I put them on a plate and went back to the throne room only to stop when I saw her... It was (y/n).... My soul fluttered once I saw her but my expression darkened with jealousy when I saw her talking and laughing with Chara. I accidentally dropped the plate, making everyone stop what they are doing once they heard it shatter. Silence was present for a while before (y/n) broke it, staring at me with happiness but she also looked unsure. I was caught in an embrace before I knew it. I immediately hugged back, a wide, genuine smile on my face. "I missed you." A few tears escaped my eyesockets as i rested my head on her shoulder. "i missed you too..." I replied, closing my eyes and enjoying the moment. I heard the others let out a few 'aww's but I wasn't bothered. We let go after what felt like an eternity. For me it was too early but we had to. "i'm glad you came back." I said as she smiled. "I'm glad I did either but..." She sighed. "I just hope that you didn't kill them. It broke my heart thinking that you killed the ones I considered as my children but I still forgive you." I stood, shocked. After all of that, after I have killed a lot of the humans that she grew so close to, she still forgives me...? Tears of happiness rolled down my cheeks as I kissed her. Gasps were heard as she kissed back. A cough was heard. I pulled away, already missing her warmth but was a little embarrassed. Both of us blushed as toriel looked at us with a smug look while covering asriel's eyes. He huffed, trying to get her paws off. "Even though this is heartwarming, there are still children here. I would say that you guys need a room but I think you'll be having WAY too much fun." She smirks as (y/n) turns into a strawberry. I wasn't any better. My cheeks and neck were burning! Asgore was covering the other two humans' eyes even though they already knew what was going on. (Y/n)'s blush dissipated quickly as she went to the ground. She was hanging with a vine on her ankle. I reached out to her but before I can do anything, I was also hung up with a vine holding me. Everybody in the room was held by a vine except for the human (frisk, obviously not Chara). Suddenly, a flower popped up in front of us all. "Hah! This is easier than I thought! When you all are doing your small, 'happy' reunion, I managed to get all the six souls!" I struggled and tried to use my powers but it felt like it was drained out of me. Everybody else was also trying the same. I looked at (y/n) as she looked down, knowing that she can't do anything. When she looked at me, I smiled despite all the pain. I ignored the flower's talking as I tried to reassure her. She smiled back but then gasped sharply. I looked back forward and saw the human's soul get attacked by bullets. My eyesockets widened as the pellets moved in slowly, the human only having one HP. Suddenly, another soul appeared beside the soul. It was a (s/c) soul mixed with kindness.

I recognize it as (y/n)'s soul. I watched as it formed a green forcefield to protect both souls. "Wha-?" "It's alright frisk. Don't be afraid for I'll always protect you!" She said with a determined look. Then, the others took turns in protecting the human, saying some inspiring things. I focused all my powers and summoned bones all around the soul, shielding it from the pellets. "kid, even though we didn't know each other for long, I believe in you. stay determined!" They smiled as the other monsters went in, healing the human and shielding them from the flower. "N-no! This can't be!" The flower was trembling. "I-I can't b-believe that your all..." Something was wrong with that look. When I though everything was going fine, the flower smirked devilishly, making my smile drop. " S u c h  I D I O T S ! "  My eyes darkened as I felt my soul getting absorbed. "Your souls are mine!!!"

Those were the only things I felt. Suddenly, I was back at the barrier, fighting the human. I felt (y/n)'s presence but yet I can't see her. My mind paid no mind to it but my soul kept calling out to hers. I heard her faint calls. I tried to reach out to her but yet I can't. It's like my arms are stuck to my sides and are only allowed to move if I'm firing attacks. The human told me that (y/n) still love me. My mind doubts that but my soul throbs, desperate to go out and just find the other. I looked down. "she's gone and she hates me... there's no changing that." My mouth moves without my command. I heard a faint voice but I can't make out any words. They said that they will find (y/n). More words pour out of my mouth but yet I felt more conscious somehow. The other voice was clearer but yet the words were incoherent. They ran up to me and hugged me. My vision cleared and I felt somebody else beside me. I looked and saw that it was (y/n). She looked at me and smiled. I smiled back. The human let go. "frisk, don't give up and stay determined." "Go on, save them all, I believe in you." Then we were back to the black void. I felt fuzzy. I then felt like I was reaching out to someone. I then saw a blur of white, black and two shades of blue before my vision went white.

Your pov

You groaned and opened your eyes. What happened? Somehow, you can't remember. All you can remember is white. You felt a lukewarm breeze. It was coming from the barrier! You stood up and saw everybody in the distance. You ran. They were surrounding something. You went in and saw frisk. They were unconscious. Worry flashed on your features as you kneeled next to them, trying to wake them up. "Frisk? Frisk? Wake up!" You shook them a little. They groaned. You stood up and gave them space as they stood up with a confused look on their face. You sighed. "I'm glad your okay frisk." You smiled. It was enough pressure when you let them leave the ruins. "I thought you were dead! Next time, tell us when you decide to take a nap! Asriel almost cried because of you!" Toriel chuckled. "Wha-? I-I didn't cry! Something just got into my eye!" Chara, amused, decided to question it. "What got into your eye?" "TEARS!" asriel shouted, a few tears slipping out. You laughed with everybody else. Sans cleared his throat. "anyways, you can go say your goodbyes to everyone before we go to the surface." Frisk looked shocked. So that's why it was more windier than usual! "yeah, the barrier is broken. we just saw it like that when we woke up." They smiled happily but something seems to be in their mind. Before you can question it, they ran out. You sighed and shook my head with a small smile. You stood beside Chara and Sans while trying to wait for them. Chara made a few puns and you laughed. You expected sans to join in because he does like puns but he doesn't. You looked at him and saw him with a grim expression, glaring at Chara, not noticing that your looking at him. You smirked. Chara seems to notice and chuckled. You suddenly hugged sans, making him stumble a little, surprised. "Is my little marshmallow jealous?" You teased. He blushed and looked away, embarrassed but he didn't say a word. You sighed and kissed his cheek, making his blush darken. "You do know that I won't replace you with anyone, right?" You calmly said, more serious. He looked away. "Well, if you don't believe me, maybe this will prove that it's true." You gave him a quick peck on his teeth. You smiled at his overly flustered face. It seems like the others were listening since you heard their chuckles. They were clearly not used to seeing sans flustered like this. Before he can speak, frisk came back, a little sad. Sans seemed a bit relieved. "are you ready to go?" They nodded, with a determined look. "Lead the way!" You said, wanting to see the sun, skies and stars. It had been years since you saw them. They nodded and went to the barrier, the small group following.

You sighed contently as you felt the sun's rays on your face as well as the breeze. The others already left, wanting to see the other humans, leaving you and sans. His hand was placed over yours as you both sat on the edge. "it's beautiful, isn't it?" You nodded. "I can't believe how long have haven't seen the surface." You said, still breath taken by the sight. You rested your head on sans's shoulder as you watched the sunset. You both stayed for a while. Sans stood up, taking you with him. "i think it's time to go, the others might need us but before we go..." You gave him a confused look before sans pulled you in for a kiss. You were shocked but immediately melted into it. It lasted for a few minutes before he pulled away. Your cheeks turned red. "we didn't get to do it properly due to interruptions but I think it's time to do it now." You nodded before you both headed to the town, starting your life in the surface together.

Bonus (surprise surprise! This is in the past when sans was going to propose to you. Also, this is like when you guys are like, 19. It's a very long time ago):

You and sans have been together for 3 years. You were still wondering on why he decided to date you instead of a princess since he was a prince but he told you that he cannot replace you with any princesses for you were more than perfect for him. You chuckled at the thought. Man, he doesn't fail to flatter you. You were a little worried though. The relationship between humans and monsters were falling apart and something might happen to the both of you since he IS a prince, a future king of monsters while you are the future queen of monsters and when targeting the monster race, you must also target their rulers. You got snapped out of your thoughts when you heard the doorbell. You got off the couch and opened the door, only to find a letter on the door mat. You looked around but there wasn't anybody there. You shrugged and picked the letter up. You recognized the sloppy handwriting and the lazily folded letter. It was from sans. You chuckled. Lazybones. You opened it and looked in the letter.

Dear (Y/n),

   Heya Princess. Today is a special day and I hope that you will enjoy it. Anyways, come and meet me at the forest. Someone will lead you there so don't worry. I hope that you will be there soon because I don't want to be sad and BONEly.

You giggled at the pun and stored the letter in the small box you always kept his letters in. You went upstairs and got dressed. You wore a short sleeved, (f/c) dress that ends just above your ankles, brown sandals and placed your crown on your head. You also wore your (2nd/f/c) short jacket, a pair of white/black gloves and tied your hair into a bun/ tied it into small braids. The king and queen said that you should always be wearing dresses. You don't really like that rule because when you wore dresses for the first few days, you swore that your face became as flat as a wall but you can't do anything about it. You put on make up. It wasn't really much. It was barely noticeable, besides, you didn't really like putting some on. It makes your face feel all hot, sweaty and weird. Anyways, you went downstairs and as if in cue, you heard the galloping of a horse in a horse carriage. (hey, it's still in the olden days so no limos!)  A person escorted you in the cart as the horse started going. You closed your eyes and sighed as you heard the galloping of the horse. You opened your eyes and looked outside the window. You were in the forest. You saw fireflies and butterflies fly around. You held your hand out and a butterfly goes on it. You smiled as you stared at it. It's wings are pure white with black patterns on it along with some blue stripes. You held your hand out further and let it fly away. The horse stopped as you were escorted out of the carriage and into a clearing. The person disappeared as you looked around. On the ground were leaves spread around, looking like a rug. Some small fairy lanterns hung down the tree branches while dark but beautiful flowers surrounded the area. You took a few steps before hearing a slow song playing. You turned around once you heard the leaves crunching and saw sans dressed in a tux, a dark blue tie and his small crown was sitting on top of his head.

He held out his hand and looked at you expectantly. You smiled and took his hand, getting pulled closer to him. You both started to dance around the clearing, getting lost in each other's eyes. The music faded as he gave you a rose without any thorns. You blushed and took it. Sans smirked, a light blue hue on his cheeks. "why don't you look inside it?" You looked and saw something shining in it. You took it, confused. Your eyes widened. It was a ring. The ring was gold with a few silver spirals around it. There was a light/dark (f/c) gem in the middle. You gasped, blush darkening. You looked at sans and saw that he was also flustered. "i don't really know if your ready. i understand if you don't accept but, will you marry me?" Sans took the ring as you dropped the rose in surprise. A smile made it's way to your lips as you nodded, too happy to speak. Sans's smile grew bigger as he placed the ring on your finger. You put your free hand on your mouth, covering your smile. "hey, don't cover your beautiful smile, princess, or should I say, my queen." Your cheeks heat up as he placed the rose from earlier on your ear. He tucked some of your hair at the back of your ear in the process as his hand rested on your cheek. He leaned closer and kissed you. You leaned in, melting into it. He quickly pulled away.

You smiled as the monsters cheered and bowed. You have earned your new title as queen since the previous ones retired. Now you and sans fit that spot. You greeted and smiled at the monsters left to right, them bowing in response. You went to the table and grabbed a (fav. Snack) and ate. You hummed and licked your lips. You grabbed a few more and ate. After a while, you were about to grab another but a hand stopped yours. "aren't you quite a hungry queen?" You looked behind you and pouted at sans as he smirked. "come on. dance with me. i think you had enough." You crossed your arms. "But I'm hungry!" You looked away, your crown tipping over a little. Sans smiled, clearly amused. You both sat there in silence. You sighed, giving up after a few minutes. "Alright, alright, you won, let's go." His smile grew bigger as he led you to the middle of the dance floor. You proceeded to dance the night away.
