Sans x abandoned skeleton child reader

Sans's pov

I was walking through waterfall, trying to find my brother. He didn't really say where he will training with undyne today so I have to find him myself. I was walking through when I heard something on the mud of waterfall. Like the thing slid through it. I looked around and saw a fairly huge crate near a river. I was about to ignore it but I heard whimpering from in it. I walked over to it, my suspicion taking over. I tried to pry the crate open but it was strong. It won't budge. I summoned a sharpened bone, bent it a little and used it as a crowbar to open the crate. I pushed it with all of my strength as it finally pried open. I heard the whimpering a little more louder. I looked in the crate and the contents surprised me. A small skeleton child wearing rags, curled up in the box with scratches and fractures on their bones. I was shocked yet worried. I thought me pap and.... Him... Are the other skeletons left! Most of them got extinct during the war but I was worried because I don't know what to do with them. I snapped my attention back to the child. I looked around, trying to find anybody that could've sent this to here. When I found no one, I sighed and tried to think of anybody to give them to. I took off my jacket once I heard the rattling of the child's bones. Must be cold. I wrapped the jacket around them. The shivering stopped immensely but they still are shivering. I only noticed that they were sleeping. I carried them and they were so light! I feel bad for them. I was about to teleport but then they might end up sick because teleporting for the first time had some side effects. I walked all the way to hotlands to alphys. The automatic doors opened. I squinted my eyes, trying to find a light. "ALPHYS!" I called out. The child shifted but didn't woke up fortunately. I heard quick and hasty footsteps as I saw the small monster approaching. The lights opened as she looked at me, clearly not expecting that I'm here. "S-sans! What a-are y-y-you doing h-here? A-also, where's y-your jacket?" I held out the small, injured child as she gasped at their injuries. "i found 'em in waterfall. they were curled up in a small crate and they were also trembling. i don't really know where i should put them in nor who i should give them to so i came here to get them all healed. i can't really find paps so your the only option." Alphys took the child from my hands while I was explaining as I followed her upstairs. She put the child on a bed, that was once a cube, and hurried off to find some stuff. "T-they just g-got into the sh-shore like that? I-I don't really know other s-skeletons except for you and p-papyrus and I-I don't remember anybody m-m-moving in waterfall s-so this might be h-h-hard." She mutters as she went back with a med kit. She tended the child's wounds. Wow, they look so brittle. When she finished, she went to the computer. "I-i'm going to try t-to do some r-r-research about t-this. P-please watch the ch-child for me." I sat beside the small figure on the bed, placing one hand on their small, thin, bandaged arm. I put a blanket on them and waited as I heard the tapping of the keyboard keys. I stood up and looked at the computer. I saw a few people on a list. She searched skeletons on the species bar as the screen loaded. I saw Papyrus's and my profiles. There's also a glitched one but when I blinked, it was gone. I sighed mentally. It was probably Him. I saw some other profiles of other skeletons. Most of their profile said 'Deceased'. I recognized a few as the other soldiers from the war. We tried to find someone but they were all deceased. We eventually came to the end of the list. But... Why does the child don't have their own account? "strange..." I mumbled, deep in thought. It seems like alphys also thought what I have and gave the same confused expression "I-indeed." I stared at the list for a little while longer, trying to see if we missed  anything, before hearing a few shuffling coming from the bed. I looked at it's direction and saw that the child is waking up. I flinched slightly when the sound of cracking bones were heard. Me and alphys walked over. When the child opened their eyes, I was surprised. Their eye lights seemed glitched and they were flickering. The left eye is faded, like, they were blind in that one. Their eyes explore the room and it landed on us. She flinched, surprised. I tried to put on a comforting smile. "hey now... No need to be scared bud..." I put my hands up, indicating that I meant no harm. Alphys akwardly did the same. The child seems to calm down after a little. "A-anyways, w-w-we would like to ask y-you a couple of q-questions if that's alright with you?" They nodded. "what's your name?" I akses. Of course, we can't start this without knowing what their name is. They blinked, seemingly confused. "N-nnnn..... Ne-nem...? N-n-naim?" Oh... It seems like they don't even know how to speak. Judging from their voice, she is a girl. Me and alphys looked at each other and sighed. This is going to be hard. "yes, your name. You know, what your parents call you?" They tried to pronounce the words. "P-p-pa??? Pa-par.... Per..... Pyr-pyrantz? C-c....Al? C-cual?" Poor child. She seem so clueless. "I-i'm guessing that w-w-we have to teach her h-how to speak f-first." I nodded. Gosh, what have I gone into?

After a few hours, they already knew the basic words. Before we can even teach her some more complex words, I heard her stomach grumble, well, she doesn't really have a stomach but... Gah, whatever! "i'll get the food." I said, walking to alphys' mini fridge and grabbing some bread. I know that they wouldn't be able to chew properly so we need some soft food. I walked back and it seems like she is talking. "Me no get call eny thang." She managed to say. So she doesn't have a name... I made my appearance with some bread. I kneeled down beside her. "now, do you know how to eat?" She tilted her head. "E-eeeet?" "yes, eat." She shook her head. Of course. I sighed and grabbed a slice of bread and teared it into smaller pieces. "open your mouth." I commanded. She did as I put the small portion of the bread in her mouth. "now chew. like this, see?" I imitated chewing something. Gosh, this is so embarrassing and also hard. I heard alphys chuckle a little, making me blush in embarrassment. This is going to be a looooong day...

By the end of the day, the kid seems to learn a lot. We decided to call her (y/n) since she seemed to like that name when she saw it in a book that we were reading. Anyways, when I was about to go, (y/n) held my wrist. "D-do nout go snans..." She said, giving me a, glitchy but somehow cute, puppy dog eyes. I sighed. She reminds me of paps... Wait.... I need to get back to Papyrus. I haven't even realized! "sorry kid but I have to go." "I wiell go wit youz!" I guess there's no stopping her now. "alright, alright. i guess you could come with. bye al!" I grabbed (y/n)'s wrist and teleported away, failing to notice that alphys took a picture.

I popped in my room, the light objects, like some crumbled papers, moved a little due to the wind. I looked to my side and saw (y/n) with a shocked expression. I chuckled. "what? never heard of shortcuts before kid?" She looked at me with an astonished expression. She then grinned and hugged me. "P-p-pa.... Papa snans ish a-anso-awnsome!" It took me some time to process what she said but when I did, blue covered my face. "W-wait, what? What did you just call me?" She let go of my legs and looked at me, confused on why I was shocked. "P-p-papa snans?" My blush darkened. "Why?" Her eyelights brightened a little as her confused frown turned into a smile. "W-weil, you ish tich meh and youz ish laik da p-py-par-entz dat u seay eerlay!"

(Basically, it says that sans teaches the reader and sans acts like how he described a parent is from ealier.)

I felt my cheekbones get hotter as I scratched the back of my neck. "geez kid. i'm not really the best parent figure out here." She looked at me with a dumbfounded look. "B-b-but... You ish da best!" She argued. I sighed, giving in. "alright alright, you win." (Y/n) gave a small squeal of victory. I smiled and carried her, going out of the room. She looked around, her glitchy eye lights darting around every corner of the house. "SANS!" (Y/n) flinched and almost fell off when pap yelled but I caught her. I looked at papyrus and saw him going up the stairs. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN YOU LAZYBONES! I WAS WORRIED SICK!" he then stopped in front of me, seeing that I was holding someone. "SANS? WHO IS THAT?" I smiled when she introduced herself. She was learning quickly. "M-mai na-naim ish (y/n)!" Papyrus gave a soft smile, his eyes softening. I wouldn't lie, (y/n) is kind of adorable. "I AM THE GREAT PAPYRUS! PLEASURE TO MEET YOU (Y/N)!" he picked her up and spin her around. I heard small giggles of laughter. He put her down. "WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?" "i just found her in a box in waterfall when i was looking for you. poor thing was shivering and full of scars." Papyrus froze. "OH NO! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" she smiled. "I am okie thanz to Papa snans!" I blushed as Papyrus's eyes sparkled. He looked at me. "OH MY GOSH SANS, THEY CALLED YOU PAPA!" (Y/n) smiled. "h-he ish mah papa! He taik ker me. He and tich me!"

("He is my papa! He takes care of me and he teaches me!")

Papyrus 'aw'ed as my face heat up more. "(y/n)..." I mutter in embarrassment. She looked at me. "I AM SO PROUD OF YOU SANS!" Pap grinned a big one. "ANYWAYS, (Y/N), DO YOU LIKE PUZZLES?" she looked at him, confused. "P-p-poo... P-pa... poodzles?" She asked. I chuckled. "YES, PUZZLES! THE GREAT PAPYRUS HAS SOME IN MY ROOM!" "p-pa... Pa... Pie..... PAYPAYRURUS!" (Y/n) said, looking proud of herself. I laughed but papyrus looks content. "YES (Y/N), PAPYRUS!" "Paypayrurus!" I clutched my stomach. Gosh dang, kids can be so funny sometimes. Pap carried (y/n) and went to his room, laughing his signature laugh. "NYEH HEH HEH!" "YE YE YE!" I tried to stop laughing. After some time, I stopped, talking in some heavy breaths. I walked towards pap's room and peeked in. I saw pap trying to teach the kids how to do puzzles. I smiled and went downstairs, sitting on the couch. Not long after, papyrus called me up. "BROTHER! IT'S TIME FOR MY BED TIME STORY!" I stood up and climbed, opening the door to pap's room to see him and (y/n) on the bed, tucked in. (Y/n) had some pajamas. I guess papyrus let them borrow it. I went to the bookcase and searched through the books. "alright bro, what do you want me to read today?" "OOOH! CAN YOU PLEASE READ FLUFFY BUNNY AND THE SUN? PRETTY PLEASE?" I smiled and grabbed the book. "alright." I went to the chair near pap's bed and sat, opening the book. (Y/n) seems to be excited as well, her eyesockets were wide open while her glitchy eyelights brightened. I then started reading.

(I'll put the story here since why not?)

The Fluffy Bunny and the Sun

Fluffy Bunny went out to play, on his mouth is where his carrot lay.

Above the leafy trees and fluffy clouds was the sun, who watched as the fluffy bunny came and run.

Fluffy bunny was on a cliff, waving to the sun as the sun turned stiff.

"What's the matter? Don't worry because I still have time to chatter."

"Ah, little bunny, I am a bit lonely you see. I couldn't find someone that can visit me."

Fluffy bunny smiled, a smile so sweet and very mild.

"Don't worry! I come to save your day so that it's not blurry!"

From that day forward, a smile is on the sun's face as he had a future to
look toward.

To fluffy bunny, he is forever thankful for he could never be this grateful.

I closed the book and looked at the two sleeping skeletons on the bed. I sighed contently and put the book back on the shelf. I kissed both of their foreheads and closed the lights, going out of the room. I then heard a whimper. I looked back and saw two, glitchy eyelights looking at me. "Papa, plweash dunt leev me..." She tried to grab my jacket. I smiled and carefully took her from the bed. I would've went on the bed myself but the bed only fits one adult. (Y/n) was just able to barely fit because of her size. She clung onto me like a magnet once she was out. I went to the room and laid down the bed. (Y/n) snuggled into me. "Neity neit papa snans." I smiled and hugged her. "night kiddo." I then fell asleep.

I woke up to small patting on my skull as well as some sobbing. I opened my eyes and saw (y/n)'s eyesockets filled with tears. I stood up and pat her back. "nightmare?" She nodded. I sighed and picked her up, cradling her a little. She still sobbed. "wanna talk about it?" She looked up at me and nodded. I waited for her to calm down. When she did, she stuttered out some words. "T-t-ther wash s-s-some sai-saisnentists a-and they hr-hart meh. T-then b-body mine w-wash swet but it al-a-also come d-down..."

("There was some scientists and they started to hurt me. Then my body was sweaty but it came down with the sweat" basically, she was melting.)

I tried to calm her down as she broke down again. "shh... shh... its just a nightmare. don't worry, I protect you from the evil scientists..." I pat her back and continued to cradle her. Her eyes were half lidded by now. I put her on the bed as she fell asleep. I laid down with her and hugged her close as she scoots next to me. Next thing I know, I fell asleep.

Timeskip

It has been a while since I found (y/n). 8 years to be exact. Now she is 13. There is one slight problem though. It was quite... Weird.... Even alphys didn't know what was wrong. First off, her cuts and bruises didn't heal. It just... Stayed there. No matter what we did. Then, it looks like she didn't grow up physically. She stayed the same in terms of height. We asked her about it but also she didn't know. We were trying to find a solution but it was still a work in progress. Also, she has been telling me that her vision was getting worse. Her eyelights we're growing dimmer and more glitchy as the years passed by. Me and papyrus were really worried since she was our child. She was confined in alphys' lab right now. I sighed. "(y/n), don't you really remember anything?" I have been asking her if she remembers her past since it might have a relationship to this situation. "Sorry Dad but no... I tried to remember but it came as a blur." She tried her best to smile but we both know that this problem can't be avoided. The door opened as I saw paps carry a steaming plate of spaghetti. He looked at (y/n) with a smile. "AH! (Y/N)! DO NOT FEAR FOR THE GREAT PAPYRUS IS HERE WITH HIS AMAZING SPAGHETTI!" (Y/n) smiled at him. "Thanks pap." I dragged a chair closer to me as paps sits there, handing (y/n) the plate. She ate as I zoned out. Flashes of what might happen in the future was what I only saw, making me frown. A hand grabbed mine making me jump. It was (y/n). "Dad, you alright?" I sighed, relieved. "yeah. just spaced out." She nodded. "Well, papyrus already left because he has to go undyne. He trusted that you can watch me while he does so." We sit in silence for a moment, me looking at her in worry. Suddenly, the soul monitor's beat beeped faster. I looked at (y/n) and saw her breathing hard and fast. I panicked. "ALPHYS!" I called out, trying to calm (y/n) down. Alphys quickly came in with a med kit and gasped. She quickly started looking around and injecting things into her. I started to sweat as I tried to help as much as I could. Then, the monitor turned into a straight line. I froze as (y/n) started to dust. "n-no..." I mumbled. She smiled and put her hand on my cheek. "Dad, please. Smile for me.... Won't you?" She then turns to dust. My pupils went small as her soul went up. We were shocked. We couldn't really check her soul since it can't be summoned for some reason but now there it is. It was dim and it didn't even look like a normal monster soul. It was gray with a crack and some stitches. It looked like an artificial soul. It stayed there, floating. It wasn't shattering. It just stayed on my palms. Tears went down my face as I looked at the dust pile that was on the bed. Alphys started shaking as tears went down her face. "I-i-i'm s-sorry." Sadness and disappointment was seen in her eyes before she ran away, leaving me with the remains. I cried but I held a smile. That was her last wish right? For me to smile for her. I stared at the fake soul on my palms, floating. I tried to do anything to it but it won't react to anything.

"she is just an abandoned experiment."

Yo! Sorry if that's not the ending that you wanted. I just figured that I could twist it up, seeing as I was itching for some sad stories. :3

Also, one more thing. I was just wondering, my classmate told me that undertale was already dying. I tried to convince myself that it wasn't but it already was. I was just worried. If undertale dies, then this book will be cancelled so I don't have anything to write in anymore. Sure, maybe some of you still like undertale but most of you most likely won't. My classmate told me to move on but, if I did, what fandom would I move in? I know that in my info in my profile, I have a lot of fandoms listed there but they don't really give me the same spark of inspiration and joy like undertale did. (Choco is confirmed as the undertale dump -^-) I'm just scared that in the future, I would be the only one left in the fandom. I would look like a fool. Not like I'm not one already but, as I was saying, I would like to ask you guys a question. Are you moving away from the undertale fandom? I know, might be a dumb question but I just wanted to ask since I feel a bit insecure about it. I just want someone from you guys to confront me about it. I can write other books but it'll be hard since I'm so used to writing about undertale.

Anyways, bye p chips! :3
