Sans's pov

It's a normal day for reaping souls. I went around the human world, checking my list and trying to find the people in it. I looked all around, seeing monsters, humans, animals and hybrids alike. Geez, what has this world become? I got my list and looked at the people in it. I got my scythe ready and went to the places where they can say bye-bye to this world. Now, don't get me wrong. I don't even like this job. I'd much rather switch places with Tori but, a job is a job and I have to do it even if I don't want to. I sighed.

I reaped the monster's soul. Poor guy. I looked at the hourglass and saw his memories. He was a kind monster but he was always bullied. Nobody knew why but he wasn't affected by it, smiling through it all. Kinda reminds me of my brother, papyrus. They have so much in common though, this monster is not a skeleton and he ain't as loud. I shook my head. No more dilly-dally! I have lots of people,monsters and hybrids in my list so I have to hurry or else they can't make it to the after life. I snapped my fingers and I teleported to a school- wait... A school? What an unsual place to die in but what can I expect? Death can come in unexpected times and places. I heard the school bell ring as high schoolers ran out of the gates. I saw a particular hybrid. They were a wolf hybrid but not a full on werewolf. I saw that she is a girl. She had black hair that went to her shoulders, blue with a hint of pink tail and ears, black eyes that had a hint of blue. She was chatting away to her friends. I gripped my scythe. Another innocent victim, great. You really know how to make me feel bad world. Her and her friends separated ways. She crossed the street but, honking was heard. She looked at the right side of the street, shocked. There was a truck. I saw that the driver looked drunk. Are you serious right now? Drivers need to be responsible sometimes. She was frozen in her spot. Students were yelling and trying to get her out of her trance while the others were also frozen. The truck then crashed into her, thought it didn't even stop. I sighed and kept up with it. It soon crashed into a building. I saw her soul float up. The hourglass that was on my rope floated in front. The top went empty. I was surprised that the driver survived but they had a lot of injuries. I got my scythe and reaped her soul as it floated up to the after life. Some of the hour glass's sand floated with it. It was her memories. She can view them one more time after death. I felt... guilty..... Really, REALLY guilty. I felt guilty with the others but not this much to where I want to revive them! I sighed. My job was over. I teleported at the porch of Papyrus's and my house. I saw souls walking around snowdin. I even saw the girl's soul. She stopped, eyes wide. She looked at her hands and looked around. She was scared. She saw me at the front porch. Now she was more scared. Ah geez, am I really that scary? She ran away. I sighed and went in the house. Papyrus was making spaghetti. It looks like he got home earlier than me. He saw me and smiled. "WHY HELLO THERE BROTHER! WELCOME BACK HOME! HOW WAS YOUR JOB?" I shrugged and sat down the couch. "It was fine as always. How 'bout you bro?" He smiled. "IT WAS AS GREAT AS ALWAYS BECAUSE I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, IS THE GREATEST REAPER AROUND! NYEH HEH HEH!" I chuckled. "Of course, nobody can top the great papyrus and his great skills!" I said, praising him. He laughed his signature laugh. "I HAVE TO GO BACK TO MY SPAGHETTI. ALSO SANS, DONT SLACK AROUND!" he went back to the kitchen. I sat down the couch, bored out of my mind. I was about to fall asleep when suddenly, there was a knock at the door. "SANS! ANSWER THE DOOR PLEASE!" Papyrus said from the kitchen. I groaned and stood up. I walked to the door and opened it. I saw the girl's soul that I had reaped earlier. She looked at me. "O-oh! Hello Mister Reaper! I'm sorry that I intruded!" I grumbled, still not feeling like being awake right now. "Whaddya want...?" I slurred out. "Oh! Well, I was curious about this place and was about to ask where I am but, seeing app the ghosts and you, I must be in the after life right?" I nodded. There isn't anybody that did this before. When I really them, they just wander around, already knowing that they are just, well, dead. "I'm sorry for interrupting! I better go now! Thanks for the information Mister Reaper!" I chuckled at her enthusiasm. Even if she's dead, she treats it like nothing. She ran away, her tail swaying around as her ears occasionally twitch. I closed the door. "WHO WAS THAT BROTHER?" I sat back down at the couch. "ehh nothing.... It's just a soul." Papyrus went out of the kitchen. "OH? WELL, ITS NOT EVERYDAY THAT YOU CAN SEE THAT!" I nodded my head. "Yup." He went back to the kitchen. I looked in the window and saw her going around, trying to talk to the other souls. Some of them smiled while some of them played with her on the snow. I chuckled. She really is something. Now, if my memories are correct, her name should be.... What was it...? Ah yes, Karen. I always saw her being all positive in life. I saw all the souls playing, if not, I saw them just watching at Karen and the others play. I smiled and laid back down on the couch. I yawned. I then fell asleep.

I woke up. I stretched and heard some of my bones pop. A blanket fell off of me. I knew that paps placed it on me. I stood up and noticed that I was on my bed. Probably his doing too. Well, since it WAS nighttime when I fell asleep so it made sense. I straightened up my clothes and walked out. I yawned. "mornin bro." Papyrus heard me and smiled once he saw me from the living room. "THERE YOU ARE BROTHER! YOU ARE FINALLY AWAKE!" Typical papyrus. Even in the mornings, he is his energetic self. I went downstairs, rubbing my eyesocket. He looked out the window for a moment. "SANS, EARLIER THIS MORNING, THERE WAS A WOLF HYBRID AT THE DOOR. SHE WAS LOOKING FOR YOU BUT, I MANAGED TO MAKE HER MY FRIEND! SHE WAS HAPPY AND WE BOTH TALKED FOR A BIT BUT SHE EVENTUALLY LEFT. I THINK THAT SHE WAS THE PECULIAR SOUL THAT YOU MENTIONED YESTERDAY!" I smiled and went to the kitchen "yes. yes she is." I walked to the table and saw leftover spaghetti. Of course. I grabbed the fork and ate as papyrus chatted away.

I pulled my hood up. I was going to visit Tori because I have spare time. I then saw Karen. She saw me and ran to me, waving her hands up. I see her black and blue eyes shining at the lights as her tail waved happily. "Heya Mister Reaper!" I chuckled. "you can just call me reaper." "Okay!" I smiled and walked towards the forest. She followed me until I went out of snowdin. "Where are you going?" I looked at her. "I'm going to visit a friend of mine. Wanna come with?" She smiled, practically bouncing with excitement as her short, black hair bounced, barely touching her shoulders. I chuckled. "I'll take that as a yes. Here." I held out my hand to her. "Normally my touches can kill but since your already dead, you can touch me. Take my hand. I'll use a shortcut." She grabbed my hand. I teleported to tori's place. She stumbled, a bit dizzy. I caught her as blue and pink dusted her cheeks. "Sorry. I forgot about that effect if it's your first time." I heard footsteps and saw toriel, the goddess of life herself. "Oh! Hello sans! I did not expect you to come here!" She looked at Karen. "And may I ask what her name is?" Karen looked at toriel and smiled. " My name is Karen! Nice to meet you!" She held out her hand. Tori chuckled and shook it. "What a pretty name! My name is toriel, the goddess of life." She beamed up at her. "Wooooow! You look so pretty!" Tori blushed. "Ah, thank you my child." I chuckled. "Already getting flustered Tori?" "I guess so..." After that, we talked a bit. Karen joined in and talked with us. She was loud but not as loud as papyrus. She was more innocent and just as cheerful as papyrus though.

I stood up from my sitting position. "Well, gotta go do my job." Karen also stood up. "Can I come? Pretty please?" I sighed. "Sorry kiddo. You can't but, you can stay with Tori here." She pouted but it was replaced with a huge smile. "Okay!" I teleported out and roamed around the human world.

I reaped the last soul as I sighed. "Welp, my job is done here." I teleported back home. I saw Karen out the window, skippin about around the small town. I shook my head with a smile. That kid sure is a small ball of positiveness. As usual, my brother greeted me , I greeted back, we ask each other how it's been and you already know what I do after that. That's right, sleep the day off.

It has been 5 months since Karen met me. She stayed being the cute little bean she is but, whenever I'm around, she seems more.... Flustered and shy. She always looks away blushing, especially when holding my hand. Sometimes, I see her singing in waterfall. Sometimes she sees me, sometimes she doesn't but when she does, she becomes shy. She's shy when singing I guess. I introduced her to the other gods and goddesses and she always hung around them. I eventually told her my name since she asked what it is. She asked because the others had names that are not what they're job is. Now, I've grown quite.... How do I put this?.... Quite.... Attached to Karen. She was just so cute and kind and.... You know what I mean. She's too kind for this world.

I went outside after my job since I actually got home pretty early. Usually, I come home every night but I somehow got home at afternoon. I saw Karen speed walking to me. She was blueshing blue and pink, muttering something while looking at the side. I was rather confused. Every time she approaches me, she always runs and looks at me but now she's.... This.... She got in front of me. "What's wrong Karen?" I asked, worried. She jumped, surprised. She looked at me. It looks like she was trying her hardest to not look away. "H-heyyyyy..... Sans..." Her ears twitch a lot more as her tail wagged slower than usual. What's with her today? I can ask if she's sick but, if your dead, you can't get sick so that's an obvious no. I sighed and out my hand on her shoulder. She looked away, her blush darkening. "Look Karen. You know that you can tell me what's wrong right? That's what's friends are for." She fiddled with her hands. She takes a deep breath and let it all out. "ILIKEYOUOKAYSOSTOPASKINGPLEASE!" she shut her eyes and turned away from me. I didn't quite catch that. "Come again? Sorry, I didn't hear it. Can you speak slower please?" She spoke again. "I-i.... I l-like.... You....." I blushed. Didn't expect that on a completely normal day. I smiled and ruffled her hair. "H-hey!" I chuckled and lifted her head to look at me. I kissed her and pulled away before she can even kiss back. Now in front of me is a blue and pink light bulb. I chuckled once again. She stuttered out inaudible words before fainting. I caught her. Now I didn't expect THAT either. "I like ya too kiddo." I said as I carried her and went to my house. She can stay there for awhile. Now that was quite the confession.
