Your pov

'THUD!' Perfect shot. You got out of the bushes and put your gun in your holster. You tied the feet and hands of the centaur and put them in a net. You dragged it. You were a hunter. You weren't the best, the shot you got there was really lucky, considering it's hard for you to aim a dart at a creature's neck but, at least you didn't have to waste like, 3-5 more darts. You dragged it to the base. You handed it to Bob as he carried it to the truck. You hunt for the scientists or the zoo. The creature can either be experimented on or out in a cage for entertainment. You hunt with your team in a mystical forest. There are so many different mythical and non-mythical creatures here. The forest is magical and it is called Ebbot Forest. You heard rumours about two skeleton lamias roaming around here and you really wanted to catch it so you can get promoted and beat HER. Her name was (name of the most hated person). She cheats her way up to the very top. She sneaks and hides in the bushes and when the professional hunters don't look, she gets the creature they captured and claimed it as hers. She's also so annoying. She talks non-stop about how boring the job is and she always boasts. Everybody hates her but the boss didn't knew that she does this so he didn't fire her. You shook your head. C'mon (y/n)! You need to go hunting some more! You refilled your gun with bullets and darts. You often used the darts but if the creature gets too aggressive, you shoot it with your gun and quickly bring it to the base so it can heal. You quickly went in the bush as you looked around. You heard rustling and rattling. You crouched lower as you widened your eyes. You saw the two skeleton lamias! This is your chance! "BROTHER, DO YOU THINK THAT THERE WILL BE ANY HUMANS HERE?" "

"there might be. i'm not sure but I swear that I saw one passing by here..." You looked at the two. One was a tall Skeleton with an orange tail and a innocent smile. They also wore a scarf and some kind of chest plate. The other one is a short one with a blue tail. It wore a white shirt and a blue jacket. You got your dart gun ready and aimed, your hands shaking ever so slightly. You shot at the tall one. It got hit in the arm. It widened it's eyes as it slowly closed and it collapsed. The other one widened it's eyes and rushed to the knocked out one, looking around with it's left eye is flaming blue. It looked really, really intimidating but you didn't back out. You shot it's tail but missed. It looked at you and glared. It shot a bone at you but you ducked so it missed. The lamia went closer, a hint of fear was on it's eyes as it approached you closely. You then shot it. It widened it's eyes and It pulled the dart out. It slithered to the other one but got knocked out anyways. You shrugged it off and tied them up and put them in separate nets. You dragged them to the base. One of your friends who drags the creatures to the truck, (B/f/n), widened their eyes and ran to you. "(Y/n)! You got the skeleton lamias?!? I can't believe it!" You smiled. "I can't believe it either honestly but, I saw them walking around. Good thing they didn't see me though." They pat your back and dragged the two nets to the truck. You smiled in accomplishment and went to the hang out room. This is where you, well, hang out with others or just chill after your shift. You got some (f/d) and (fav chips). You sat down on the couch and watched TV with other hunters. Suddenly, the door got blasted along with the walls around it. You all rushed out to see the blue lamia firing attacks everywhere. "WHERE IS MY BROTHER?!?!?" He,judging from his voice, yelled out as the others ran out while the others tried to shoot him but failed as it were blocked by bones. His eye flamed dangerously as you ducked to avoid a bone. The skeleton suddenly glared at you. "Y O U . . ." His voice got dangerously low as he pounced on you. Multiple darts and bullets passed by. Blue bones rose from your hands,feet and torso which scared you but to your surprise,it wasn't painful nor did any blood of yours got spilled. You struggled but immediately stopped due to pain spreading all over your body. You felt dizzy as blue surrounded your vision. You blinked and the scenery was replaced by a forest. "Now tell me, where's my brother?" The weight on you got more heavier as the skeleton lamia pointed a sharp bone inches away from your throat. You were visibly shaking as silent sobs of fear slipped out of your mouth. "I-i...."

"Tell me now!" He pushed the bone to your throat and sliced it as blood seeped from the cut. Your sobs got a little louder. "T-t-t-the.... R-red.... T-t-truck...." You managed to choke out as the bone got pushed into your throat little by little when you stopped in between your sentence. The bone was pulled away as you tried to catch your breath. The skeleton narrowed his eyes at you and the aura got more darker. "Hurt me or my brother again and you will have a bad time. Capiche?" You nodded frantically as he disappeared, small wisps of blue was left behind before it quickly dissipated. You held your throat and got down from the tree. Your hands and feet were also hurt from the struggling. You limped towards the base to see scared expressions of people. There were walls of bones that forced them to back up into a corner. You saw the two lamias slither their way to the gate. You got shoved by the blue one. "SANS! DON'T DO THAT! THAT WAS RUDE!" 'Sans' clicked his tongue, if he even has one, and rolled his small dots for eyes as he went on forwards. The orange on approached you as you backed up to a wall. "DONT WORRY HUMAN! I WILL NOT HURT YOU! I AM THE GREAT PAPYRUS AND I WOULD-" papyrus got cut off by his brother grabbing his wrist and dragging him out. You heard a distant yell but it quickly disappeared. You stood there, barely standing. You can't believe that he was still THAT innocent after all this. The bone walls disappeared as the others rushed to you. You breathed heavily as drops of blood seeped through your new bruises. You got assisted to the nurse's office and they treated your wounds. You laid down the bed and tried to process what had happened. You eventually fell asleep.

You loaded your dart gun and bought a pocket knife and a gun just in case. You also bought ropes and nets. You were going to hunt. Sure, it's your free time but, there's not much to do in the base. You could draw or listen to the music but, there are no electronics here. Only some fans and an old computer used to type documents and there are no pens,pencils or even anything used to write something! Well, there IS a pen in your boss's office but he said that you can't borrow it unless it's for something important, not drawing/writing nonsense. You sighed as you went out, looking around. You walked deep into the forest, careful to not hurt your feet much. The wounds didn't heal completely but it was almost there! You climbed up the tree as you heard the bush rustle. You shot the dart as soon as the thing went out. It dodged and you floated down the tree. You were getting choked but there were no hands on your neck or anything, only a blue aura. "Oh. It's you again." You saw the blue skele-lamia (you decided to call them that) slither towards you with a glowing eye and a death glares was sent towards you. A angered hiss came out of his teeth as he stood in front of you. "What? You going to catch us again? To experiment on us? Put us in cages?" You coughed as tears were in the corner of your eyes. You can't breathe and you were starting to think that the wound on your throat reopened. Yep, it did because there were drops of blood going down your throat to your shirt. You managed to shake your head a little. The aura disappeared as you tried to catch your breath. "Your lucky that I'm in a hurry right now. I don't have time for your dawdling." Another rash hiss escaped from his teeth as he slithered away, glaring at you one last time. You finally caught your breath as you wiped the small tears that was collected on the corner of your eyes. Your vision got a little blurry but you shook your head. You couldn't pass out now. You grabbed your handkerchief and tied it on your neck, hissing and trying not to choke yourself. That will have to do for now. You were too far from the base anyways. You sighed and walked away, trying to look for some creatures.

You managed to get back to the base, carrying a hunch of nets with a bunch of knocked out creatures. You didn't know how you managed to carry them but, meh. You gave them to Jim. "Hey (y/n)? You know your not supposed to hunt today right?" "Yeah,just bored." He chuckled and bought the creatures to the truck. You went to the nurse's office and she treated your reopened wound, telling you to be careful. You went to the Hunter's lounge and just chilled. That skeleton was beyond furious with you right now and when his brother approached you, he seems so innocent. How did he stay like that when his brother had almost murdered people around them? You didn't know but, it's a good thing that he wasn't that bothered. You got some soda and opened it. You took a sip while you watched TV. The news was all about the creatures you all captured. You then got bored and stood up and went to the dorms. You went to yours and plopped down the bed. You stared at the ceiling for a while then you fell asleep.

You woke up and got your guns and knives. You were gonna go hunting again. You went out of the base and went deep into the forest.

Sans's pov

Ugh... What is with that human? She always tried to catch us. That wasn't even the first time. She tried to catch us multiple times before but missed and failed and we got away. But, I kind of felt guilt when I hurt her. Why though? Wait.... No no no...! I can't and won't feel any attachment to that human! That is not allowed!

"SANS...?"

I can't! I just can't!

"SANS!"

She will just hurt me and experiment on me and-

My thoughts got cut off by papyrus shaking me. "SANS, WHY WONT YOU RESPOND TO MY CALLS?" "sorry bro, just thinkin' 'bout stuff." I slithered to the couch and sat down. Papyrus went to the kitchen and is probably cooking spaghetti. I used my levitation to bring my ketchup bottle to me and drank the ketchup. "SANS! STOP BEING SO LAZY!"  I didn't respond and only chuckled. I shifted to a lying position on the couch and watched the TV with no interest. All I see is that overdramatic peacock that tried to fly but fails miserably. I groaned. Why does mettaton be the only celebrity here? My head shot up once I heard a scream. I stood up and went to the door. I saw the human getting attacked by a lion with wings. I don't know what creature that is honestly. I slammed the door open and hissed at the like. It roared and clawed the human. She sobbed. Alright that's it! I pounced at the lion, knocking it off of her. I sent bone attacks and blasted them. They struggled as I stood up. They limped away. I huffed and looked at the human. She has wide eyes. I carried them and slithered to the house. They struggled and cried. My gaze softened. She thought that I'm gonna kill her.

Sans! What are you doing?!? Helping a human?!? Are you out of your skull right now?!?

I know that I'm helping a human but I can't help it. I just seem to get attached to them even if I don't really want to. I closed the door and laid them down the couch. She stayed still, still shaking and bleeding. I went to the kitchen and got the med kit. "BROTHER? WHAT DO YOU NEED THE MED KIT FOR?" I just pointed to the couch and papyrus saw the human. We both went to her as her shivering increased. Papyrus got the med kit and patched the human up. I just stayed on the side, looking at the human. I just... Feel like... I can't lose them. Papyrus was done and smiled at the human. "YOU MAY STAY HERE FOR AS LONG AS YOU WOULD LIKE!" papyrus said and she smiled. Papyrus went back to the kitchen as I went to the human. She was shivering at the sight of me. I sighed sadly and put a blanket on her, not looking at her. I can feel her confused gaze as I went to the side, glancing at her from time to time. "T-thank you..." I hear her say and I smile. She snuggled in the blankets and fell asleep. I picked her up and went to my room. I put her in my bed, seeing my bed more comfortable than the couch. I got a chair and put it beside the bed. I sat on it and watched her. What's so special about her that got me attached? Well, she does look pretty. I played with her hair a bit and let go. I fell asleep.

No one's pov

You stayed at the skele-lamia's house for quite a long time. They were so kind and made you feel at home. They both had gotten closer to you especially sans. You didn't understand on why he was so gentle on you when he had hurt you in the past but you let it slide, besides, you got feelings for him. Sans's feelings for you grew more and more. From the moments you both had and from when he just thought of you. But, we all know that happy endings can't go on forever.

Your pov

You walked with sans in the forest. You were both collecting food. You then heard some footsteps. You looked behind you and saw hunters from your base. You widened your eyes.

If they saw me with sans, they are gonna kill him, thinking that he hurt me!

You grabbed sans's hand and ran. "(Y/n)? Why are you-" you put a hand on his mouth and hid behind their house. You were both in the bush. Sans pushed your hand away. "(Y/n), please tell me what's going on right now!" You gestured to the hunters. They saw the house and went inside. Sans widened his eyes. Wait.... Papyrus! You heard a gunshot and Papyrus's scream. You both went in and saw Papyrus on the ground. You saw your teammates there. You grew furious and got your gun. You shot them in the head. They looked at you shoked. You were glaring at them. Both of you and sans rushed over to papyrus. You ran and got the med kit. You tried to get the bullet out but, it just won't get out. Both of you and sans were crying as you heard thuds, signalling that the others fell to the ground. "S-sans...? (Y-y/n)...? P-please... S-stay.... Strong for m-me...." Papyrus closed his eyes and he turned to dust. "NO! PAPYRUS!" sans screamed as he held his scarf. You tried to comfort sans and sobbed. You can't believe that papyrus died. He was one of the sweetest people you had ever met. You then saw red. You looked down and saw a bullet on your torso. "S***! I think I shot (y/n)!" You heard your teammate say. Sans rushed over to you and his eye glowed blue. "N-no... N-not you too..." He growled as he shot the remaining teammates outside. They were probably for back-up. He tried to patch you up but, it's too late. You smiled and hugged him. He sobbed on your shoulder. "P-please.... Not you too...." You grabbed his shoulder after letting go of the hug. "S-sans...? I-i want to t-tell you... This... Before... I go..." He looked at you, tears going down his cheeks. "Sans.... I.... I l-love you...." He hugged you again. "I... I love you too..." You laughed sadly. "A-at least we can... Spend time... Like this... One last time...." You fell limp. "(Y-y/n)? (Y/n)!" He  let go of the hug and looked at you. "P-please! Stay with me!" He sobbed "p-please...."

A few minutes of silence passed. He smiled sadly. "I guess what they say is true....

That happy endings don't last forever..."
