For the first time since the start of school I was able to get a full night's rest which was something that's very uncommon to me. I got used to staying up for days or getting little to no sleep but last night I guess it was one of those days where I was able to get a good quality rest. I'm usually a light sleeper but last night was the hardest I've ever slept.

For once I actually felt warm and comfortable in my bed I was in such a deep state of sleep till all of a sudden

Y/N: *Cough *Cough* Goddamn it dad! I hate it when you turn the house into a goddamn freezer for no reason!

I woke up to air that was cold and frigid. Sudden shift in the air that went from
Warm and humid to dry and cold made my throat really dry and my chest hurt because the house was literally about 30 degrees!

Y/N: Welp no point in staying in bed I guess...

I said to myself.

I stretched my arms into the air and got up from my bed. Obviously I did what normal people did and brushed my teeth and fixed my hair. I went downstairs and was greeted by my mom. She was dressed up all Buisness casual. I can only assume she was going to the office.

*Conversation in english*

Y/N: Morning mom.

Amelia: Oh goodmorning son!

My mom said as she happily greeted me back

Y/N: I take it you're going to the office?

Amelia: Yeah, it's that time of the week. your father already went ahead of me this morning. He had a meeting with one of the chief engineers.

Y/N: Oh nice.

Amelia: Yeah sorry son I wanted to spend some time with you today knowing its your day off but duty calls.

Y/N: Its okay mom im probably gonna go around tokyo today.

Amelia: Oh okay son. Where exactly are you going?

Y/N: Nowhere specific. I figured I'd just take a look around and see what's up. Havent really explored much of mainland tokyo so we'll see.

Amelia: Wow son!

Y/N: I mean its nothing to be impressed about. Besides you know im that type of kid to wander around.

Amelia: No thats not what i ment son.

Y/N: What do you mean?

Amelia: Well, Ever since you were young you always had the tendincy of not telling me or your father where you were going.

She said as she placed her hands on her hips

Y/N: Really?

To quite honest I never really noticed it... or rather realized it...

Amelia: Its true. Ever since you were young you would always go about, never telling me or your father were you were going or what you were doing. I swear It would always make me mad. Luckily your father is good at tracking down where you were.

Y/N: Ehehehe sorry ma.

Amelia: thinking about now, it still grinds my gear... but i accepted that part of you because at the end of the day, you always came home.

Y/N: Yeah sorry about that mom I never really realized that about myself.

Amelia: Well anyways son I made you some breakfast, its in the oven. Be sure to keep your witts about when you go off to god knows where in tokyo. Take care son I love you.

Y/N: thanks mom and I love you too.

I said as she put on her shoes and headed out the door.

I went to the kitchen and grabbed the breakfast out of the oven. My mother usually prepares japanese style breakfast but I guess she made breakfast from her country. She made me a "full english breakfast" . The full English breakfast consists of fried eggs, sausages, black bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, fried bread and a slice black pudding (similar to bloodwurst). It was accompanied by tea and hot, buttered toast. My mother was born and raised in the United Kingdom.

Even though she was born there she has lived in japan long enough to understand the language and culture and grasp it very well. But she chooses to stick to her roots sometimes because she doesn't want to forget where she came from, which I think is great thing to do.

While eating my breakfast I couldnt stop thinking about what my mom said. I never realized that about till she pointed it out. I started to reflect, and thinking of the times I had done that...

After eating my big ass breakfas. And reflecting I went upstairs and got changed into regular clothing. I don't really have much other than some basic black jeans, a plain grey t-shirt and a white crew neck jacket. After putting them on I went out the door and made my way to the train station.

Since I had bo particular place to go I thought I'd take a visit to Shibuya. I heard there was alot to do near that area so I thought why not. First place I visited was Yamashita park. It was a shopping outlet that had a rooftop park. The rooftop park was pretty nice. It had a sandbox, a soccer field, a rock climbing wall, and a skate ramp. I wasnt really interested in those activities, they arent really my thing other than the skate ramp but I forgot my board.

The next place I visited was the Shibuya Sky which was an observation deck near the station. I went up there and took a good look of shibuya. From there I kinda just surveyed the area. I saw the shibuya crossing from up there. Watching all the people cross the street and how the intersection was layed out kinda reminded me of new yorks time Square.
After surveying the area I was able to highlight some key places. From all the times ive surveyed places from high above I was able to draw a mental map of the area and highlight some places of interest.

I spent a good hour up in shibuya sky. To be quite honest it doesn't take me long to survey an area but I stayed up there longer because it was a nice clear day so I just sat in one of there lounge chairs and just looked at the nice clear blue sky. When that was done I went on down and headed towards a guitar shop I found from up there. The store had a wide variety of guitars some even japanese made. Personally im satisfied with what I have but its good to look around.I ended up buying new strings for my guitar and a new guitar strap.

After spending a few hours walking around Shibuya I got bored so I hopped on the train again and made my way to Ikebukuro. Last time I was there Marina had me running all the way to Pastel Palettes idol agency and didn't really get to take in the full view.

I exited the train and made my way towards the gate when I saw a sign for sunshine city. The thing that intrugued me the most about the sign is that it is said that the mall had an aquarium and an observatory. This piqued my interest considering that this was unheard of, well to me atleast. Without further hesitation I made my way towards sunset city.

I made it down to sunshine city. The entrance to the mall started at the basement. Sunshine city is one of the largest commercial facilities in tokyo. Not was there an observatory and an aquarium, it also housed one of the biggest gatchapon shop, a planetarium, a theme park, an ancient art museum, a mall and pretty much the whole 9 yards of pure recreation.

Y/N: GODDAMN! Where do I even start????

Just reading the description of this place hurts my head. While trying to figure out and filter down where I wanted to see first, I heard a familiar soft spoken voice calling out to me.

Rinko: L-L/N-San...

It was Rinko along with Ako

Y/N: oh hey Shirokane, Ako

Ako: Hiya Senpai!

Y/N: Wasn't expecting to run into you guys today.

Ako: Fufufu were destined to cross paths in this realm as it was foretold by the dragon of darkness who resides in my eye!

She said while doing her usal chunibyo pose. Though what surpised me was that she didnt stop to think about what she wanted to say.

Ako: Nee rinrin~ how was that?

Rinko: it was lovely!

Ako: Ehehe

Rinko: Umm... So what brings you here if you dont mind me asking...?

Y/N: To be honest with you, I have no particular reason as to why i'm here. I literally just saw an advert for this place at the station and I was curious to know what this place was about.

Rinko: I see...

Y/N: Yeah what about you guys what are you doing here?

Rinko: Well you see... we were going to buy more materials for our new costumes... and... well the store isn't open on sundays...

She said as she looked a bit bummed out.

Ako: So instead we decided to come here instead and have some fun at the arcade!

She said with a cheerful expression.

Y/N: Oh is that so?

Ako: Mmhm! There's this game i've been dying to play all week and while we are out here we might as well play it.

Y/N: Sounds reasonable, well I dont want to intrude so ill be heading off then.

Rinko: Umm L/N-kun...

Before I could walk away, Rinko stopped me.

Y/N: yes?

Rinko: Umm...its just...well...

Rinko stared down at her feet while fidgeting nervously. I know where this is going but for her benefit I think ill just let things play out.

Y/N: hmmm?

Rinko: Its just... well... I know you said you were here for no particular reason... and...

Y/N: I did say that.

Rinko: and...If thats the case then...would you like to... join us...

She said as her face was flushed red. Ako looked at her all impressive and started clapping. As for me I was happy that she was able to ask me. It took a lot of courage for Rinko to ask me for something as trivial as an invitation, but im just glad shes making the necessary steps that she needs.

Y/N: Well if its okay with you then sure!

Ako: Alright!

Rinko looked up as her face begin to light up. She felt very elated knowing that her efforts payed off.

Timeskip arcade

The arcade was packed this time of day. A Lot of kids spend their Sunday afternoons playing the various games that this place has to offer. I followed Ako and Rinko throughout the arcade to find the game they wanted to play. Low and behold we found it and there wasnt anyone playing it. The machine they lead me to looked odd to me. It kinda reminds me of a washing machine.

Y/N: So what kind of game is this?

Ako: This game is called maimai! Its a super fun super awesome rhythm game. Whenever Rinrin and I go out or we dont feel like playing NFO we come here and play this!

Rinko nods in agreement.

Ako: Sometimes I play this game with my sister but we usually play taiko no tatsujin!

Y/N: I see...

I took a closer look at the machine. And judging from the demo that's playing on the screen. All you gotta do is tap the buttons around the machine to the rhythm

Y/N: Hmmm this game looks pretty straight forward.

Before I could play the game, Rinko advised me to buy a game card so that my data could be saved. To be quite honest I don't really play arcade games like that but its a good thing to have anyways. The card was only 500 yen and it works for pretty much every game in the arcade.

For the first game it was me and Rinko while Ako stood in the back cheering us on. Rinko helped me get set up. She taught me how to to find songs, change the speed and volume. She was also nice enough to give me her spare wool gloves. Apparently she brought it just in case ako forgot hers. It was a tight fit but it worked.

Rinko also explained to me that the purpose of the gloves was to reduce friction on the slide notes.

Rinko: Any particular song you have in mind?...

Y/N: Naw, I think ill leave that up to you.

The first song she picked was a maimai original called wakaranai . Rinko played it expertly while I played it in advance. I set the speed up to 4.5. We played the song and I must say I think this was too easy for me. I scored a 99% while Rinko scored a 98%

Ako: Wow you guys did awesome!!

Rinko: thank you Ako-chan...

Y/N: Yeah I think this song felt way too slow for me...

Rinko: If you like... we can play something a little faster...

Y/N: Sure I think I might up the speed slightly

The next song we played was a cover of hated by life. I upped the speed at 5.0. I Also set it the difficulty to master. Seeing this game so far it seems pretty easy.

The song was a bit tricky on the doubles but fun non the less. I got a full combo on the first try. While Rinko got 98%. She almost Full comboed but misses two notes.

Ako: WOOOOOOOOOOW! THAT WAS SUPER SUPER AWESOME SENPAI!

Rinko: w-wow...

Y/N: I liked it. Ehehe

I replied with a nervous laugh

Rinko: Is this really your first time playing...?

Ako: yeah? You're really good at this game.

Y/N: Yeah, this game is about matching rythm. I dont really thing its hard. Then again the only tricky part is learning the pattern. It was weird getting the doubles down but I managed to hit them.

Then again... this game does also remind of the reflex tester they have at schools...

The next song we played was called odo by Ado

This song was a little tricky because of the delayed slide notes. Unfortunately I didn't FC the song, but i didn't do too bad either

Y/N: I found that song pretty tricky to be honest.

Rinko: mmhm... the slides in this one can get a little tricky... especially when the slides are delayed.

Ako: Ill say! Slides back then were a killer for me.

Y/N: yeah I think I need to work on a it little more.

Rinko: in that case...

Rinko then selected a song called lagtrain by inabakamori

Rinko: I think this song might help a little bit with slides.

Rinko and I got a full sync plus and a full combo on master. The song was really catchy and I was heavily invested into it.

Y/N: Wow that song was fun!

Rinko: mmm... the song is tricky at first but once you get it down... i think you'll find it enjoyable.

Y/N: Yeah I think what helped to was how catchy it was.

Ako: Mmhm! At first I was terrible at this song but I played this a bunch of times till I was like ba-Boom!

She said imitating an explosion sound.

Y/N: Welp I guess thats the end of that.

With that being said out game ended.

Ako: My turn! Rin-Rin lets swap! I want to play with senpai!

Rinko: sure...

Rinko backs out and swapped out with Ako, we put in our coins and re scanned our play cards in.

Ako: Fufufu~

A said as she gave me a devilish look... I can tell im in for a shit show...

Y/N: Ummm... you good...?

Ako: Oh nothing...fufufu

*Rinkos mind*

Rinko: Oh no... I hope ako chan doesnt murder L/N-kun... she does tend to play more of the hardcore songs...

Rinko: goodluck you too.

She said with a slightly worried look

Y/N: thanks...?

I said as i turned my head towards rinko who was behind me. When i looked back it looked like ako had already picked a song... and its difficulty...

The song was called... contrapasso paradiso

*during the song*

Y/N: (in english) What in the fuck is this???

I said while frantically hitting those notes.

Ako: Muahahaha!

The song was insanely fast but I managed to fully combo it. Ako got an all perfect.

Y/N: Good lord Ako! Are you trying to kill me?

Ako: Maybe~

*End of the song*

Rinko: You did good...

Y/N: thanks... not gonna lie it this song threw me off a bit.

The song took me by surprise. I honestly wasnt expecting that song to go from 0 to 100 real quick.

The next song we played was called grievous lady. Like the previous song it was a 14.

The song wasn't too bad, in fact it was really fun. I managed to score my first all perfect and a full sync plus with Ako. The way the song was mapped on the game synced well with the beat. It wasn't hard, it was just really fast.

Rinko: Wow an all perfect!

Ako: THAT WAS SOOOOOO COOOL!!!!

Y/N: I honestly enjoyed that song. It was messy towards the end but it was really good.

Ako: Right? That song goes boom boom boom and then at the end its all like dudururuduru

She said as she tried to imitate the noises of the song.

Ako: i think we'll should slow it down a bit.

She then scrolled through the songlist and picked out a song called feeling low as dirt taking whats important from me.

The song was really catchy and we manage to snag another all perfect and full sync plus. I must say it was another song that I enjoyed. It was really catchy and the mapping of the notes made it fun to play.

Y/N: im gonna have to get this song downloaded, because I really enjoyed that song!

Rinko: Mmhm... it was the first song Ako and I full comboed together...its really catchy...but the lyrics are dark...

Ako: Mhmm whenever rin-rin and I play we start with this song all the time!

Rinko: Mmhm...it makes a good warm up song...

Y/N: Yeah I can see that. The mapping looks pretty unique and the speed isnt that bad.

Ako: Okay senpai be prepared! This last song will be our final boss fight!!

Y/N: bring it!

The next song she picked was a song called yurushite

Holy shit there was so much going on with that song... Ako scored 95% while I managed to score a 97%. I would've gotten an All perfect but the mid portion and end got me.

Ako: DAAAANGIT I GOT 3% LESS THAN LAST TIME!

Akos previous score was a 98%.

Y/N: There, there, it robably wasn't wise to start yourself off with a fast song.

Ako just made a sad face.

Rinko: It's okay Ako-chan you'll get it next time.

Ako: I guess you're right, senpai... I did get kinda tired towards the end.

Y/N: Yeah same. I felt that in my shoulders

I said as i grabbed my shoulder and started making circles.

We ended our arcade session and made our way towards otsuka.

Ako: I had fun today, senpai!

Y/N: Yeah same. Do you guys play often?

Rinko: Sometimes...usually its when Ako and I go out. I know ako-chan plays maimai often with her sister...

Ako: Mmhm! I usually play with my sister. You should come with us next time onee-san and I play! Tomoe-nee is super super good at maimai! her skills are amazinf!

Y/N: I see. Then again she does seem like the type to play Arcade games well.

Ako: Mmhm! When we were young we used to play a lot at the arcade growing up. It was always fun just the two of us. Onee-san was always good at arcade games and she always looked super cool playing them too.

Y/N: You must love your sister alot!

Ako: Of course! She is the coolest, most awesome sister that I could have! Someday I'm gonna be as cool as her!

Y/N: ya know I think its nice that you have a person you could be inspired by. And I think Tomoe is a really good role model for you. But my advice is never to strive to be like Tomoe.

Ako: What do you mean by that?

Y/N: Now don't get it twisted Ako. I think Tomoe is really cool, but what I meant by that is you can be like tomoe but you cant be EXACTLY like tomoe. You get what I'm saying?

Ako: Not really...

Ako said, looking confused.

Y/N: You and Tomoe are two different people. Tomoe will be tomoe and You will be you. You said it yourself that you want to be cool like your sister but you should find your own "cool".

Ako: My own "cool"?

Y/N: Yup! You gotta be Ako cool not Tomoe cool! Because Tomoe has her own definition of cool so what's yours?

Ako: My own definition of "cool... "

Ako paused as she thought about it... albeit a bit too hard... almost to a point where she looked lost.

Y/N: I wouldn't think about it too hard Ako chan.

Rinko: Mhmm L/N-kun is right...

Y/N: Besides that question is something for you to discover and find for yourself.

Ako: Senpai do you think i'm cool?

Y/N: Hmmm I dunno you tell me.

I said in a teasing voice.

Ako: heeeee? SEEEENPAAAAAI

To be honest I think Ako is cool and awesome. But even so, she still has a lot to learn about herself. Rinko and I giggled after that exchange. Soon after it was time to head our separate ways.

Y/N: Welp this is where we part ways.

Rinko: Yeah. I had a lot of fun...

Ako: yeah! Lets do this again senpai!

Y/N: Sure just hit me up I guess.

Rinko: See you tomorrow L/N-San... oh before I forget... on monday we should be able to access our office again...

Y/N: About damn time too!

Because of the office being shut down for maintenance, Arisa and I are behind on work, tomorrows gonna be a ass long day for the both of us.

Ako: later senpai!

Y/N: Stay safe you two.

I watched the girls walk ahead to make sure they were safe. As soon as they left my field of view, I walked homewards.

While walking I took out my headphones out of my pocket to listen to music on the way home. As I was about to put my earbuds in I heard a loud ringing... which could only mean...

I dropped my phone and headphones and immediately turned around to see the tip of a knife inching closer to me and a man garbed in black holding the knife ready to kill me. In a matter of seconds, I took the man's forearm with my left hand and his knife from his hand with my right hand. Then threw him onto the ground behind me causing him to grunt in pain.

Y/N: Wait...that voice...

I said to myself.

Soon after I heard another ringing in my ear, I turned around to see another knife close to my face but this time there wasnt a person holding the knife meaning someone threw it. I used the knife that I grabbed from the first guy and swung it upwards at the on coming knife. The knife spinned outwards, in one single move, I spun around counterclockwise and grabbed the knife with my left hand. After completing the spin I threw the knife that I had just caught towards the tree.

When I threw the knife, it was so sharp that it cut through a thick branch. The thick branch fell through the tree knocking down some branches along with the assailant who threw the knife at me. I knew he was in the tree because judging from the trajectory of the knife, it looked like it was coming at me from a high position down low at me.

I walked towards the man who fell from the tree. With the other knife at the ready. Before I could strike the man. I was shocked to see who it was. He wasn't wearing a black like the other guy. The guy who threw the knife at me was other than...
