I took the elevator down and made my way towards the practice room that Hinata mentioned. Just before I could grab the door handle I remembered the events from this morning… 

Fuck I hope Maruyama isnt mad, I thought to myself. What made it even worse was that I realized Eve was there…I have nothing against Eve at all, but whenever she mentions anything related to the kendo incident I cant help but feel a bit insecure which is still a feeling i'm not really used to…

I took a deep breath and I slowly twisted the knob and opened the door. 

Y/N: Sorry for the Intrusion. 

I said, announcing myself. 

 I entered in the middle of their practice. They were so preoccupied with their rehersals that they didn't really notice me step in.I stood by the wall next to the door and carefully   observed them. 

I couldn't make out what song they were practicing as I'm not really a fan of the idol scene, though I will say it was quite adorable to see how they were playing, especially with how Aya was dancing around. In the middle of the song, Eve noticed me in the mirror and immediately stopped playing. Soon after everyone else stopped as well. 

Chisato: Eve why did you stop playing? 

Eve: Hiya Y/N-Kun! 

She said while waving at me through the mirror. 

I waved back and soon after everyone else turned towards my way. 

Hina: Y/N! What a surprise!

Chisato: Y/N? What are you doing? 

Aya: How long were you standing there???

Aya said, getting all flustered and nervous. 

Y/N: Long enough, anyways I'm sorry to cut into your practice time but i'm actually here on business. 

Maya: What kind of business? If you don't mind me asking…

She said as she put her drumsticks down on her snare drums. As she did that, so too did everyone else put their instruments down with the exception of aya. She just held on to her mic. 

I took out the manila envelope containing the list of equipment we had to offer. 

Y/N: I believe this is for you Yamato. 

Maya was sort of confused at first but then she realized what it was. 

Maya: Ooooh! Could that be the sound equipment list that Marina mentioned? 

Y/N: Yes it is. 

Maya got up from her kit and approached me. I handed her the manila envelope and she kindly took it from my hands. She took out the contents within the envelope and started reviewing it. 

Maya: FUAAAA! THIS IS GREAT! 

She yelled in excitement. 

Y/N: Marina told me that you were the one who requested this. I thought it was kind of stupid that you guys would be borrowing supplies from us but when she explained the situation it all made sense. 

Chisato: Sorry for that Y/N-kun, it's just that the company is trying to cut down on set up cost so Maya-Chan recommended using equipment from CiRCLE that way she could be the one to set it up herself. She's really familiar with CiRCLEs sound equipment thats why she asked Marina. 

Hina: Yeah! She's like a wizard when it comes to these kinds of stuff! Its pretty boppin awesome. 

Maya: H-Hina-chan! 

She said getting all embarrassed from the compliment she got from Hina. 

Eve: Hina-San isn't wrong. When it comes to sound equipment you're the go-to girl. Without you helping with setup, I don't know how we would go on. 

Aya: Yeah without you we wouldn't sound fantastic on stage! 

Maya: Eve-chan, Aya-san stop it! You're making me blush. 

Everyone: *giggles and laughs*

Y/N: Haha! Well anyways I'll be off now, I only came here to deliver this. 

Eve: Wait Y/N-Kun! 

As I begin to walk out Eve grabbed my hand and stopped me. I kind my heart stopped for a moment because I thought that she was gonna ask me something about the kendo club. But I felt a different intent emanating from her so I turned around and acknowledged her. 

Y/N: Whats up? 

Eve: If its not too much, would like to hangout with us for a bit? 

Chisato: E-eve-chan! I don't think thats a good idea! 

Aya: Chisato-Chan is right hes probably busy right now…though, if its okay, It would be nice for you to stay. 

Chisato: Aya-Chan! 

Hina: Oooh! Me too! Onee-Chan talks about you at home so I wanna see what you know about Onee-Chan through you!

Oh does she now? I wonder what she thinks about me? Probably something negative seeing as I annoy her at school. 

Chisato: Hina-chan! Don't encourage this! 

Hina: Ehh? Why not?! Getting to know Y/N-Kun might be fun!

She said as she ran up and hugged me by the hip. Oh god Im nearly getting PTSD from the time Kasumi nearly strangled me to death.

Maya: I don't want to be selfish, but Im also curious to know about Y/N too…if thats okay.

Chisato: Maya? Not you too? I'm so sorry Y/N I hope we are not bothering you too much. 

Y/N: No, it's fine. 

I remembered that Marina told me to go to lunch after delivering the documents. I looked at my watch to see what the time is now. I don't know how long lunch is but I'm gonna assume that its an hour and a half so I got some time.

Y/N: I got time to spare. 

Aya: Are you sure? 

Chisato: Please, you don't have to if you don't want to. 

Y/N: Its fine Marina said that I could go to lunch after I deliver the documents. I'm here now so I might as well make the most out of it.

Hina: Yay! 

Hina was so excited that she tightened her grip around my waist. 

Y/N: AHHHHHH! NOT AGAIN! AHHHH! 

I said gasping for air. 

Maya: Hina-San! 

Aya: Hina-Chan stop! You're gonna kill him! 

Y/N: AHHHHHHH WHY GOD! WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS? SOMEONE HELP!

I said gasping for air. Soon Eve, Maya, and Chisato, tried to pry Hina off of me as Aya stood there like a nervous nancy not knowing what to do. 

A few Minutes Later

They finally managed to get Hina off of me. Soon after Maya proposed getting the bento boxes from the breakroom and having ourselves a little picnic in the middle of the practice room. And so she got the bentos from the break room and we all sat in the middle of the practice room in a circle and shared the bentos with each other. 

Everyone: Thanks for the food! 

We all began to grab different items from the boxes and began eating. According to Chisato the bentos were a courtesy gift from the staff. The bento had a wide assortment of food. Since I'm really basic, I just took the fried chicken, some rolled up tamago, rice, and some pickled radish. 

Y/N: This food is amazing! 

Eve: I know right? I can eat Japanese food all day! 

Aya: The staff was kind enough to give us this, there's alot to go around so please help yourself to more if you like. 

They said with their mouths full.

Chisato: Aya San, Eve-Chan dont eat with your mouths full thats not very idol like. 

Aya and Eve: Sorry. 

Me, Eve and Hina just laughed at them. 

Y/N: I swear, you're like a Mom hahaha! 

Chisato just blushed and kept eating. A few minutes later we all finished the food. Nothing was spared from the bento boxes, it was a really great meal and after a long morning full of work it was very satisfying to say the least.

Hina: So Onee-Chan tells me you work in the student council with her? How is she like? 

Jeez, Hina must love her sister alot. Though I will say its kind of a hard question knowing that all of my impressions of her are sort of negative. 

Y/N: Hmmm let me think… 

I tried to come up with nice things to say about Hikawa and it was kinda hard. 

Y/N: To be honest, Hikawa and I work together but she's usually so busy with other duties and responsibilities that I really dont see her in the office that much so I cant really say. 

I said trying to dodge the question.

Hina: Ehhhh? Well that isnt a Boppin answer at all. 

She said making a pouty face. In all honesty I don't want to be rude and talk about your sister in a negative way so this is really the best I could come up with I said in my mind. 

Y/N: Yeahhh, thats really all I could say, though I am curious to know what she thinks of me? 

Hina: Ehhh? You sure you want to hear what she thinks of you? 

Y/N: You make it sound as if its bad. 

Hina: Its sort of bad. 

Y/N: Eh? Lay it on me, I've heard worse. 

Hina: Well…If you say so…Onee Chan thinks you're annoying and disrespectful towards others…She told me about the first time she met you, she thought you were just a troublemaker who doesn't follow the rules and have no respect at all… 

Everyone was taken aback by what hina said. I guess they were shocked at the fact that Sayo didn't really like me, but I found it quite funny. 

Y/N: Pfft Hahahahahaha! 

Aya: What did you do to get on her bad side like that! 

Chisato: If I remember, she told me you lured them out of the student council room then snuck into the room and stole your phone back. 

Eve, Maya, and Hina: WOOOOAH! 

Eve: Just like a Shinobi! So Bushido! 

Chisato: By the way, how dare you use Kannon-Chan like that! 

Chisato scolded me.

Y/N: Yeah, Im aware, I already apologized to Matsubara, and if it makes you feel any better I was forced-joined into the student council as a treasurer and Ichigaya's Admin helper, so there goes my free time. 

Chisato: Well I'm hoping this won't happen again. If you must know, Kanon-Chan is kind of a pushover, that's why I feel bad whenever she gets roped into one of Tsurumaki-Chan's schemes. I swear that girl needs to learn how to say no. 

She said as she nods side to side in annoyace.

Y/N: Yeah, Im also fully aware of that. Shes a very soft spoken and kind girl and I still feel bad for using her like that. As long as she has someone like you to watch over her I think she should be fine. 

Chisato just blushed over the statement. 

Maya: Oh yeah that reminds me, Youre working at CiRCLE now, how is it so far? 

Hina: Oh yeah, Onee-chan told me about that last night. How is it? Are you having fun there? 

Y/N: Well, I was almost late this morning but other than that It was pretty busy, which by the way I'm sorry for making you trip this morning Yamato. 

Maya: Yeah it's fine, I'm just glad we didn't crash into each other, that would've been much worse. 

Y/N: Oh yeah, Maryuyama. 

Aya: What is it Y/N? 

I got up and bowed to Aya and apologized this morning. 

Y/N: Maruyama I'm really sorry about this morning, I just want you to know, had I not done what I did, there would have been some serious injuries. 

Aya was confused at first as to what I was referring to, then suddenly she remembered and got all red faced. 

Aya: I-Its fine…im just glad we didn't get hurt she said as she looked away from me while fidgeting her fingers. 

She said, trying to cover her embarrassment.

I leaned back up right and sat back down. I'm glad we got that out of the way, I said to myself.

Y/N: Anyways, Pretty much this morning was all just preventive maintenance on most of the sound equipment. 

Maya: Oh it seems like you know you're way around sound equipment. 

Y/N: Yeah dude let me tell you, like there was this old Marshall speaker that I found in the storage room. The thing was so dirty that I had to literally take it all out piece by by piece and I had to clean all the parts individually! 

Maya: It was that bad?

Y/N: Hell yeah it was! You shouldve seen the microchips and the voice coils, those things were really dirty! And it didnt help that most Marshall brand amp internals are delicate as hell so I had to be extra careful, the maintenance nearly took me an hour and a half to complete. 

Maya: I know right? When it comes to marshall brand accessories, I would always try my best to keep them as healthy as possible because I know if you neglect it for too long they have the possibility of breaking down easily. And I feel you on that, the maintenance is a pain. They're not like Orange brand speaker heads, now those things are much more durable fuehehehe. 

Y/N: Oh my god Maya! I Friken love Orange brand speaker heads, those things are very reliable and they have great sound! And the best part is, it plays heavy metal quite well on it too. 

Maya: I wouldn't know because I'm not a guitarist but If you have the Yen, I definitely would recommend investing into Orange brand speaker heads.

Y/N: It's fine, I was really tired and exhausted that day. 

Maya: You can say that again. I was so busy that day running around trying to get the drama club up and running for the school year. 

Hina: Yeah! You were boppin back and forth alot! 

Hmm that's interesting. I didn't know that Maya had an interest in drama. 

Y/N: I didn't take you for the type to be interested in drama Yamato. 

Maya: O-Oh im not…Im actually their technician.

Chisato: That's really incredible L/N-Kun. I guess that would explain why youre so good at guitar.

Y/N: I wouldn't go as far as to say that. I guess it's close hehe. But yeah I'm really into music.

During the song

Even though I said I wasn't into Idol music, this song wasn't half bad. The song was pretty fast paced, but was also pretty catchy. Another thing I noticed was Maya holding back a bit on the drums. What I mean by that is that she looked as if she had more to offer but for her bandmates, she chose to be considerate as to not go too hard but not too soft either.  She knew full well what she was doing. 

As for chisato however, her bass playing slacked a little when she started singing. For most people it wouldn't be noticed, but for people like me i  noticed right off the bat. The good thing about it though was that her other bandmates where there to back her up to cover up what she lacked.

Eve and Hina looked like they were enjoying themselves a lot. I saw no problems with their musical prowess, same goes for aya as well. Though her general MC skills suck, she does make up for it in performance. 

All in all, the song was pretty good but I still think they have a long way to go before they can say that they're perfect. 

After the song ended.

After the song ended, I just sat there silently while they were all panting. Especially Aya because she was dancing around. 

Aya: So what do you think Y/N? 

Y/N: Interesting to say the least. 

Hina: Ehhh? Is that all? Thats lame. 

Y/N:I mean I think you guys could use a little more work but so far it sounded pretty solid. 

Eve: Does this make you a fan of us now? 

Y/N: Hahaha! No… at least not yet but you're getting close. 

Aya: Waaaa! Did you hear that chisato? Were close to turning Y/N-kun here, into one of our #1 fan. 

Chisato: Ehe yeah… 

Chisato looked a little disappointed. I guess she knows full well what she was lacking but has too much pride to admit her mistakes. 

Maya: Even though you said we came close, ill take that as a sign of progress. 

Y/N: Thats a good mindset to have. Even though its little progress, progress is still progress. 

The girls then started to sit back down around a circle with me. 

Aya: I'd say that today was a fun practice session. 

Eve: Yeah! I can feel myself get stronger and stronger each time we practice with each other like this. 

Chisato: Don't get comfy girls, we still have a long way to go before we can call ourselves top tier Idols. So don't let up. Let's get in as much practice as we can before the world idol fest. 

Maya, Eve, aya, and hina: YEAHHH! 

Y/N: Chisato is right, you guys still have a lot of time to practice. While you guys are still weeks away, take the time right now to perfect your imperfections so by the time you come closer to the concert, all you gotta do is just work on those little onesie, twosies. 

Aya: thank you Y/N! 

Y/N: Maruyama! Youuuuuu need to work on your MC skills. I dunno if you suck, or its part of idol charm…your performance skill is exceptional but your MC skills are terrible. 

Aya: Y-Yeah…ill make sure to work hard on that…ehehe

Maya: Oh Yeah, Y/N-San, didnt you say you've been playing drums alot these days? 

Y/N: Yes? Why do you ask? 

Maya: Its just… im sort of curious to see your skills on the kit. 

Y/N: Eh? 

Chisato: Yeah and besides, we played a song for you now it's your turn. 

Y/N: Aw what?! You're gonna pull that on me?

Hina: I mean its only fair. 

Aya: I'm sort of interested to hear you play. 

Y/N: You sure? 

Eve: Yeah! Why not? It'll be great! 

Y/N: Well…

Im sort of hesitant to play…and not because im not confident to but…my way of drumming is kind of…

Aya: What's wrong Y/N? Do you not want to? 

Y/N: Nonono! Not at all it's just…well…my drumming is kind of odd… 

Maya: What do you mean? Surely you can't be that odd. 

Y/N *sigh* 

I couldn't really explain why, so I decided, to  just show them… I stood up to inspect Maya’s kit… it looked good except it was missing one thing. 

Y/N: Hey Yamato? 

Maya: Uh yeah? 

Y/N: By any chance do you have an extra high hat? Particularly one that's much thinner? 

Maya looked really confused at my odd request. 

Y/N: Yeah I know it's odd but just trust me on this one and you'll see. 

Maya: Yeah let me look in the back room really quick. 

Maya got up and went into the back room of the practice studio. While she was doing that. I grabbed my sticks from my bag and started hitting her kit to test the sound. I started to re-tune her kit to sound more "punchy". 

While I was doing this, the girls just sat down and looked pretty excited to hear what I had to play. A few minutes later, Maya came out of the room with the extra high hat. 

Maya: Here you go! 

Y/N: Just set it to my left please. 

She set the High high to my left and started playing it. It sounded more high pitched to the main hi hat which satisfied me.

Maya: I still don't get the purpose of having two high hats. 

Chisato: Lets just wait and see.,.

Y/N: Since we're sharing songs i'll show you one of mine. I took my phone out of my pocket ans started sifting through my flies to find the right audio. After finding it I connected my phone to the speaker. 

Y/N: this song is a song that a few of my friends were working on. Its called "Say it"

Hina: Say it? She said as she attempted to speak English.

Y/N: It's in english. If you wanna translation its "Sore o iu"

Aya: Sounds interesting. 

Chisato: Well let's hear it.

Everyone was in awe over the song. Looking at maya and hina it looked like they had stars on their eyes. Everyone clapped for me, it seemed like everyone enjoyed it. 

Y/N: So how was it? 

Chisato: That was astounding! 

Aya: I didn't think such noises were possible on the drums. 

Eve rubbed her eyes together and
Looked back at me, blinking a couple of times. 

Eve: I thought I was going blind for a second, I couldn't even see your hands! 

Hina: That was super duper amazing! You gotta play let Onee chan see this! 

She said with extra excitement in her voice. 

Maya started to hyperventilate. We all looked at her and she had a very… lewdish expression on her face. I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow to this. 

Aya:U-Ummm Maya…? 

Y/N: Yo you good Maya…?

Maya: t-th-That… WAS THE COOLEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN! 

We were all taken aback by Maya's sudden outburst. 

Maya: like like like, i really didn't think such things were possible on the drums! Like the level of control you have with each hand is amazing! I like how you can just manipulate your level of speed and change subdivisions with one hand! And your sticking patterns, it's really cool how you can go from cross hand to open hand like that! Much less going into side sticking!

Y/N: Yeah it was a bit awkward, going from cross handed to open hand just for a brief second then go back to cross hand into side sticking on the snare.

Y/N said as he demonstrated the beginning of that song. 

Maya: Another thing I noticed too was how you went from your second hi hat to the first floor tom with just one motion. I thought that was very resourceful. Like seriously, how did you learn to play like that? 

Y/N: Again, I just learned from watching my friend, and then after that I kinda just went in depth and made my own thing out of it. 

Maya then started to ramble on about everything that I did while I was playing. Ill admit it was nice to hear someone give me such great feedback but this… i think
It's a bit too much. 

Maya:...and they way you crossed both high hats like that you had so much control with both the sound and the speed it's really crazy! This is probably the best drumming i've ever heard in my entire life fuehehehe

Chisato: Umm…Maya youre doing it again. 

Maya then blushed and snapped back to reality. 

Maya: O-Oh? Was I Really? 

Y/N: Yes, you went balls to the wall with how i was playing.

Maya: O-Oh. Sorry Y/N-San, its that it got me so hyped. Especially seeing another fellow drummer. I think you might've top king with this one. 

Y/N: King? 

Maya: Oh youve never heard of king? Well…

Chisato: Maya-chan Lets save that discussion for another day. We dont have alot of time with Y/N-kun 

 I looked at the time and i noticed i had another 15 minutes to hangout before I had to go back to work. 

Chisato is Right, i dont really have much time left i gotta get going in the next 15 minutes. 

Maya: O-Oh im so sorry, i didnt mean to… 

Maya felt a little guilty. I guess she felt like she wasted my time with her rambling… 

Y/N: If you wanna talk about it more, how about we exchange numbers? 

Maya: Really?! That would be fantastic! 

Aya: Umm if it's not too much to ask, mind if i do as well? 

Hina: Oh me too! Maybe you and i could play together along with onee chan! 

I couldnt help but grimace when she mentioned her sister.

Chisato: I think it would be best if we exchange numbers with Y/N. Afterall he is helping us with the show.

With that being said, we all exchanged numbers. Pastel palettes went back to practicing as I made my way back to work. 

A few minutes later. 

After exiting the station, i made my way back to work on foot. I started feeling the backlash of staying up all night and the dragging feeling finally caught up to me. I looked around for the nearest vending machine but there wasnt any near me. 

After walking a few meters, I ran into a lawsons. I went inside the store only to be greeted by a familiar clerk. 

Lisa: Welcome, Oh hey Y/N-Kun 

She said smiling and waving at me. 

Y/N: Oh hey. 

I went to the back of the store and grabbed a redbull. After grabbing my redbull i checked out with lisa at the front. 

Lisa: You know you shouldnt be drinking stuff like this its too unhealthy for you.

Lisa said with concern in her voice. 

Y/N: I dont care I need it… 

Lisa: You okay? 

Y/N: No, I'm so frickin tired right now…

Lisa: Ahhh, Working hard i take it? 

Y/N: That and I've just been up for a long time… 

Lisa: O-Oh?

Y/N: I'm gonna go now…

Lisa: Oh before you go, Are you still down to go shopping sometime?

Y/N: Yeah Just text me… 

As rude as it sounds, i didn't want to drag the conversation any further knowing full well that I didn't have the mental capacity to.

On my way to work,  I took a swig of my redbull and started listening to more music to help me stay awake. I was so thirsty for the red bull that I ended up downing it in one chug which honestly made me feel much better. 

20 minutes later. 

I finally made it back to CiRCLE with a full tank of gas. That red bull was much needed and now I'm feeling more awake. 

Marina: So how was it? 

Y/N: Oh it was good. By the way, Why didn't you tell me that I was providing support for the concert? 

Marina: Hmmm? What do you mean by that?

Marina said trying to play dumb 

Y/N: I hate you =-= 

Marina: No Y/N! No! Im sorry I honestly forgot I swear! 

Y/N: Wooooooow that's craaaazyy!

I said sarcastically. 

Marina: No I swear, I honestly really forgot to tell you. 

Y/N: Suuuuuuuure, "you forgot" we'll leave it at that. 

I said air quotes. In reality i wasnt that mad. I just wanted to give Marina shit for lack of communication. 

I walked back into the basement stage where I continued to work. Marina followed me trying to apologize for the misunderstanding.

Marina: Y/N wait no, don't go! I'm sorry! YYYYYYYY/NNNN! 

A few hours later. 

After finishing up the last speaker of the day, The work day had finally reached its end. I put the last speaker back into the room and made my way upstairs to grab my bag. I set my apron on the hook right next to my locker and made my way outside into the lobby. 

Marina: Welp its time to head out. 

Y/N: Yeah lets!

Marina and I turned off all the lights around and made our way out the front where she locked the doors behind us. 

Marina: Great work today. 

Y/N: Yeah that was exhausting

I said while stretching.

Marina: Yeah, You really worked hard today. 

Y/N: Thanks, though there's still some sound equipment that still needs to be checked. 

Marina: That's fine, we can do that some other time. 

Y/N: When you mean "we" you mean "Me" right? 

Marina: Oh stop it! Now you're just giving me a hard time. 

Y/N: Hahaha well anyways see you later. 

Marina: Bye ill see you next Y/N-Kun! 

We both said our farewells and walked oposite ways.

???: Hmmm? I Didn't know that there was a boy going to my daughters' school. Tell me? Has he made any contact recently with my daughter? 

???: Only that one time During one of her shows, One of our associates gave him a ride home. Other than that we have no profile on this man. 

???: This make no sense, first a boy is going to my daughters school, and now we don't have a profile on him! 

???: I'm sorry sir, thats all the data we were able to pull up on this young man. 

???; This data is useless! There's nothing! NOTHING AT ALL! HOW COULD SOMEONE LIKE THIS BE ADMITTED TO THIS SCHOOL WHEN THERE'S LITTLE TO NO DATA! 

The man yelled as he slammed his fist on his desk. 

???: My apologies sir, but thats all that was available. We tried to pull more data from different networks. We were able to get a profile and manage to hack into it but when we did….

???: Yes? Go on? 

???: Our own network was breached…a good chunk of our data was taken from us… 

The man was writhing with anger as he tried his best not to explode in front of his associates. 

???: I don't know who this guy is, or why he's hiding himself like that. But as long as he goes to my daughters school he is a threat to her. Akira, gather up as many bodies as you can. Track this guy down and teach him a lesson! Make him regret coming to this town.
