Chapter 10 - The Strength of a Link
With the support of Roselia I made the selfless decision of working with Marina at CiRCLE. Everyone around me was either overjoyed or satisfied with my decision to work here, however there's one thing I had to discuss with Marina.
Y/N: Hey girls can you wait for me outside there's some stuff I need to discuss with Marina In private
Confused and curious about what it was that I had to discuss, they reluctantly agreed and stepped out.
Marina: So what did you want to discuss?
Y/N: Marina listen, I'm happy to take the job I really am but…
Marina: But…? She said with a slight look of worry on her face
Y/N: But…There is going to be a time where I will have to disappear at any given moment…
Marina: If that day comes, then how long will you be gone for?
Y/N: That's an answer I do not have.
Marina: But why, though why do you have to go…?
Y/N: It's because of my father. He's very strict when it comes to me learning the company's trade. Whenever he goes around the world to do business he would take me with him so that I could learn.
Marina: I see… I remember you mentioning something about your father teaching you about maintenance. What does your father do anyways?
Y/N: My father Is a CEO and Head engineer for Sensory and radar technology. Ever heard of "The Marcelius Corporation?
Marina: I'm sorry but I haven't. I'm not really into that sort of thing.
Y/N: The Marcellus Corporation is the top contender for Sensory and Radar technology with buyers coming from Major NATO allied countries such as the USA and the United Kingdom.
Marina: I never knew you came from such a prestigious family.
Y/N: Yes because I don't really like people to know about it and I have little to no intentions of inheriting my fathers company at all and I even made that clear to him.
Marina: If that's the case, then why bother taking you around with him if you don't even want to take his company?
Y/N: Because my father is that type of parent who "does what's best for his children"
I said while making air quotes
Marina: I see…
What I said was a half truth. Though my father is strict when it comes to my knowledge of his trade, He's actually that type of man who believes that i'm at that age where I should be making my own choices and in most cases he lets me do what I please because he trusts my judgement.
But the reality of it is the fact that im first and foremost an assassin despite not being in it. I still cant help but keep that in the back of my mind. I still want to work here and for that i'm willing to make a compromise without her knowing the truth. Besides… there's
Something that the Shogun did that made me raise my level of concern…Either that or I'm just overthinking it all…but I'm not gonna take any chances especially when world class assassins are being called here by her…
Y/N: Now that you know the truth, can you still really want to hire me now?
Marina paused as she started thinking about it and processing it all.
Marina:Yes! Even if you have to go away for who knows how long, I'm still willing to have you. I need you.
I was honestly stunned by Marina's words and the fact that I was needed for something like this. It made me feel a bit happy knowing I'm needed for something that doesn't involve the death of others.
Y/N: Even when I'm gone for more than a month?
Marina: Even if you're gone for a year and you come back I will still hire you!
Wow…I'm at a loss for words…Things got silent between us as I did not known what to say next…
Marina: It's like what Yukina-Chan said, You wouldn't just be a help to me but also to those who come in here. They could use someone like you and for that, so please, don't just do it for me but also for the people who come in.
Y/N: HAHAHAHHAHHAHA!
Marina: Eh?
I couldn't help but laugh. Like Shirokane, this woman barely knows me yet chooses me to be here of all people. I swear I feel like people place their faith in me a little too easily.
Y/N: I'm sorry Marina, it's just that we barely met today and yet you're willing to do anything to keep me hahaha!
Marina: I guess you're right about that…I dunno its just that I had a good feeling about you when you first came in. Its like something called me to you ya know?
Y/N: I guess…I'm glad that we got that settled out. I just wanted to make sure that that wouldn't stop me from working here.
Marina: No not at all!
Y/N: Great! Now theres another thing I want to discuss with you…
Timeskip
Outside CiRCLE
After that discussion with Marina I came running outside CiRCLE knowing that the girls have been waiting patiently for me.
Y/N: Sorry for the wait!
Lisa: Wow you sure took your time~ what did you guys talk about in there?
Sayo: Imai-San I dont think it's okay to pry into someone else's business.
Lisa: Ehhh You're no fun Sayo.
Y/N: No it's alright Hikawa, we were just discussing responsibilities that come with working here along with schedules because you know..I am being held hostage by Hikawa over here.
Sayo: I swear to god L/N! You are really starting to annoy me with that!
We all started laughing with how pissed off Hikawa got when I referenced that. Except Minato who just looked away and tried not to laugh.
Y/N: Anyways I'm starving girls let's get going.
Everyone except Yukina and minato: YEAHHH!!
TIMESKIP
JOHNATHANS FAMILY
RESTAURANT
When we arrived at the restaurant, We went inside and gave them our party number. It didn't take the hostess long to get us our table as it was towards the end of the dinner rush.
Lisa: So, Y/N what were you thinking about on the train?
Y/N: What do you mean?
Sayo: It seemed like you were deep in thought. I called your name several times but you didn't listen, so I just thought I'd let you be.
Lisa: Yeah and when I called your name out, you didn't even acknowledge me. So what's on your mind?
Y/N: Oh well…just how I'm gonna balance my schedule with work, and student council. That's about it really.
Lisa: Wow? And you had to think about it that hard?
Rinko: Dont stress yourself out too much L/N-San
Y/N:I mean I like my freetime ya know. Besides, I could've been home practicing my guitar or drums but noooooooo someone had to put me in the sTuDEnT CoUNcIL!
Once again making a lie to keep them from knowing what I was really thinking.
Sayo: You really aren't going to let that one go aren't you?
Y/N: So long as i'm working with you, I will never let that go
Hikawa just made a pouty face as Imai and Shirokane giggled
Soon after, the waitress came around and took our orders. Minato ordered the beef stew special and so did Imai as well, Shirokane ordered the chicken steak special. As for Hikawa, she ordered a family sized fries along with Ako. As for me, I ordered 「insert favorite food」. For drinks we got a drink bar with our meal so we were free to get our drinks which we did.
A few minutes later.
We sat back down to relax and enjoyed our drinks. I must say I love the convenience of a japanese diner and there drink.bars.
Lisa: So L/N-San, are you excited to work at CiRCLE?
Y/N: Yeah I am actually I was hesitant at first but glad you guys talked me into it.
Lisa: Of course!
Sayo: I think the job suits you L/N-San
Ako: Yeah! And now that you'll be working there, I can show you more of what I can do!
Y/N: You're a good drummer Ako, But you still have a lot to learn.
Ako: fufufu with your flames and my Dark Magic we will rule all the realms with a BANG!...How was that RinRin?
Rinko: good!
Yukina: We hope to work with you in the near future L/N-san
Y/N: Pleasures all mine Minato.
Yukina: Speaking of drums, You must really know your stuff when it comes to music.
Rinko: I think you're really talented L/N.
Sayo:...
Looking at Hikawa, she's got that same annoyed look from this morning. Knowing Minato I can tell she has a high passion for music. I gotta find a way to get out of this before Hikawa loses it.
Y/N: Please, You girls Flatter me anyways so wha…
Yukina: How long have you been playing the guitar and drums?
Fuck…she cut me at the worst time.
Y/N: Ummm…long enough anyways…
Lisa: Oh there's no need to be modest! Besides, I'm curious to know too.
Rinko: I am too.
Y/N: Well…
Sayo: He's been playing guitar for only a year.
Sayo said with a salty undertone
Lisa, Ako, Rinko: One Year!
Yukina: And you managed to play that?
Y/N: Umm, yes. :T
Yukina: I see…and what about the drums
Y/N: Not long also.
Lisa: Again with the broad answers I see
Y/N: No, that I'm actually serious about.
Rinko: You're quite talented L/N-San.
Lisa: Yup! You're a musical genius.
Ako: You're super smart when it comes to drums, Senpai!
I looked at Hikawa again. Except this time I get the feeling she's either going to burst into tears or walk out the restaurant or both. I guess her Inferiority complex is getting the best of her. I gotta defuse the bomb now.
Y/N: It's nice that you call me a genius but I really am not Ako.
Ako: Eh?!
I think saying that caught Hikawas attention because her face changed from dissatisfaction to interest and curiosity.
Sayo: Explain then…
Y/N: Well…
I told them about how I started piano at such a young age, and how I developed absolute pitch and explained How it correlated with me learning guitar fast along with the other various instruments I've learned. And I also explained to them how I worked hard to develop that skill and that I had days where I lost sleep over piano.
Sayo: I see…that explains a lot actually…
Hikawa looked slightly relieved after that whole revelation but even so that sense
Of dissatisfaction still lingered.
Rinko: I think I know where L/N-San is coming from…
Lisa: What makes you that?
Rinko: L/N-San is right about the piano…because of the piano I too am able to pick up sounds and which keys they're played on…though mine isn't as developed as your L/N-san…but as a fellow pianist I have to say that I can relate.
Ako: So does this mean you have that absolute pitch thingy that Senpai has?
Rinko: Yes I do…
Ako: WHAAAA! so If I teach you drums, would you be able to learn it as fast as L/N-Senpai?!
Rinko: Umm…Ako Chan…
Y/N: Umm Ako, to tell you the truth, my Absolute pitch skill didn't really have much of a role to play while I was still learning drums till like later on.
Ako just tilted her head at me in confusion. God that's so adorable.
Yukina: Does this mean you know how to sing as well…
Y/N: Umm…
To be frank, I do have the ability to sing. When I was young, Minami was the one who taught me how to sing. She saw my potential one time during a night mission. That time I was just sitting under a tree waiting and listening to music. I was singing along when Minami heard so she decided to teach me on the spot. Talk about bad timing because we were apparently singing so loud that we alerted the patrol. Ahhh good times. Hehehe
Y/N: Yeah, I have the ability to sing. But it isn't as good as your singing minato.
Lisa: Maybe one day we can hear you sing?
Ako: Yeah! And I wanna see you play drums!
Rinko: if it's okay with you…I would also like to play music with you.
Lisa: oooh? Do you have any experience with bass? I could use a few pointers.
Y/N: I dont know alot but I can teach you what I know.
Lisa: I'll hold you to it Y/N-Kun
She said, giving me a wink.
Ako: Ooh me too! me too! Teach me more about drums!
Y/N: For you! Most definitely!
Ako: Yaaay! You hear that Rin-Rin? Senpai said he'll teach me more!
Rinko: That's good Ako-Chan!
Lisa: There you go, spoiling Ako with more attention :T
We all just laughed at that. I guess Imai wants me to be around her more. I managed to defuse the situation with Hikawa and she seems less stressed out but even still it looks like she's still a little bit annoyed.
With that being said our food finally arrived. We all ate and enjoyed our food, except me. Because I was so hungry, I ate my food really fast. Like I didn't even taste it, I just straight up swallowed it.
Y/N: Oh my god that was great!
Lisa: You sure must be hungry Y/N-Kun.
Y/N: Yeah I didn't have breakfast and I had a really light lunch.
Sayo: There's a thing called "tasting you know".
Y/N: Yeah, Yeah.
Yukina: By the way L/N-san, I really respect your honesty with our song we practiced today.
Y/N: Yeah like I said, I listen to alot of music and I dont think ive heard any music as unique as yours.
Sayo: Again, we still have much to work on before we can say we've truly perfected the song.
Y/N: For like live performance wise yeah, but even then I still think the song is perfect the way it is. There's really no point for further modifications to the composition.
Yukina: L/N-San is right. We've managed to perfect its composition but now we need to work on perfecting it for live play.
Sayo: We'll be fine Minato-san, I think the way we're going now with practice we should be able to perfect it in time for our self-sponsored show… in the meantime I still have to work on the solo part.
Y/N: Yeah, you managed to pull it off but you were struggling a bit to play.
Sayo: You noticed that?
Y/N: Yeah I did. But it's fine, you just need to keep building repetition till you get comfortable. You manage to pull it off, you just need to build confidence with it.
Yukina: Is there anything else you caught during practice?
Y/N: Umm other than no not really…
But then I remembered Akos Metric Modulation
Y/N: Actually then again I did notice Ako Metric Modulating during the last segment of the song.
Yukina: Metric what?
Ako: I did what now?
Y/N: It's complicated to explain, and I highly doubt that Ako knew what she was doing at the time, no offense to you ako. But in simple terms she changed the tempo without actually changing it.
Sayo: Then again I did feel like something was off but at the same time it felt like it went well.
Ako: I don't get it, Senpai…What did I do?
Y/N: You basically changed the time signature making it seemed like you played a faster tempo but you didn't.
Yukina: Can you please elaborate more on this?
Ako: Yeah, I'm not understanding
Lisa: GYAAAAAA! All this talk about music is hurting my head! Like don't you
Have any other hobbies besides music Y/N-Kun?
Oh my god Imai, You just saved me so much time from explaining Metric modulation to these girls I could literally hug you!
Y/N: Yes actually, Aside from music playing video games and watching tv shows like most normal people, I'm actually into fancy line work and japanese kumihimo.
Sayo: I didnt think youd be into traditional Japanese arts L/N-san
Ako: Do you play NFO senpai?
Y/N: right Hikawa?, and as for NFO, Yes I do, i'm a level 80 Master Blade Dancer!
Ako: YOU'RE A MASTER CLASS!?!?
Rinko: But how…? Master classes are so hard to reach?
Y/N: No not really? Why? What are you guys in the game?
Rinko: I play a fire wizard.
Ako: And I'm a dark necromancer!
Y/N: Ah, that explains why, Both of you guys
Guys have magic classes so the materials and tasks for ascension to master class are relatively more difficult. Give me your gamer tags later and I'll help you later.
Rinko and ako: Yeah!
Y/N: Anyways, what about you Imai?
Lisa: me? Well I like shopping for clothes and also knitting, on top of that I also like baking cookies which Yukina is very fond of.
Yukina: lisa! L/N-san doesnt need to know such menial details like that!
Lisa: fufufu~ you'll have to excuse Yukina Y/N-Kun. Even though she looks really cold on the outside and tries to act all cool and stuff, she's actually a nice person deep down. It's quite cute actually.
Yukina: Lisa!
Y/N: I kinda knew actually. I had that same discernment of her, even though she's cold she's quite kind.
Yukina: F-Flattery will get you nowhere L/N-San
Minato said as she crossed her arms and looked away with her face slightly pink.
Lisa: Good at reading people too huh? Wow you are just full of surprises.
Y/N: You could say that, but anyways now that you mentioned clothes shopping, I need to buy more clothes but I just don't know exactly what to buy.
I said trying to change the subject to stray her away from my unique skill.
Lisa: I wouldn't mind helping you out with that!
Y/N: Hmmm…I could be down to go with you. After all, you seem like you know fashion pretty well so I trust you.
Lisa: Great! Just leave it to me!
Sayo: Ahem! I think about that time where we should be heading home now.
We all looked at our watches only to find out it was already 9PM. I guess time really flies when you're having fun.
Yukina: I agree, it's getting late.
Y/N: Yeah lets go, I got the bill
Rinko: L/N-san? Are you sure?
Y/N: Yeah
Sayo: A-are you sure? You don't have to.
Lisa: Yeah, we ordered a lot. We're more than okay to cover our tabs.
Y/N: Girls it's fine, and besides I have more than enough to cover it, I don't mean to brag but my mom gives me a hefty allowance now come on let's go
Lisa: Well if you say so.
I paid the tab which honestly wasn't that bad for 6 people. I used my American bank card instead of my Japanese one mainly because the value of the American dollar was worth more than Japanese Yen so I ended up paying a few percent less.
We exited the restaurant where we made preparations to go home.
Sayo: Thank you once again L/N-san I hope it wasn't an inconvenience for you
Lisa: Yeah thank you Y/N-kun that was really sweet of you.
Rinko: I hope it wasn't a problem.
Y/N: Girls it wasn't a problem at all don't worry about it.
Ako: You're the best Senpai!
Yukina: we're in your debt.
Lisa: Anyways, it's pretty late so we'll be heading off now.
Rinko: Yeah, I'll see you soon L/N-Kun
Ako: Bye Bye!
With that being said, Ako and Shirokane walked one way while Imai and Minato
Walked the other way which left me
And Hikawa. We exchanged contact infos so that we could coordinate plans in the future.
Sayo: I'll be heading this way L/N-san
She said as she pointed ahead.
Y/N: Oh that's the direction I'm going too. I'll walk with you.
A few minutes later
Location: Somewhere around Otsuka City.
As Hikawa and I were walking along, things were silent between us just like how it was this morning. Looking at Hikawa, she looked like she was still a little bit bothered by something. It's as if she felt guilty this time…
Y/N: Hey Hikawa?
Sayo: Geez L/N, Do you ever address people with respect? I am your Senpai after all.
Y/N: Wow! Out of all the times you can bring that up, you bring it up now!?
Sayo: I'm just playing…pretty neat joke right?
Y/N: You have a pretty sick sense of humor…
Sayo: Well it was worth a try…
I just rolled my eyes at Hikawa. Soon after, Hikawa suddenly stopped.
Sayo: Hey L/N…
I turned around to see what she wanted but I already knew.
Y/N: Let me guess…You want to apologize for something that was your doing? Or at least you thought it was your doing?
Sayo: What!? But how did you know!
Y/N: Because you looked guilty. Also, after I told you I've only been playing guitar for a year, I can only assume that you want to apologize for feeling a sense of envy towards me. Is that correct?
Sayo continued walking right past me and I soon followed behind and caught up to her, walking side by side. She wasn't looking at me and I saw red in her cheeks which could only mean I was right.
Sayo: W-was I really that obvious?
She asked in a really soft voice.
Y/N: To most people no, to me yes! I'm fairly good at reading people.
Sayo: I see…well I'm sorry anyways…Had I known about your musical development at an early age…I wouldn't have felt the way I felt earlier today…it was rude of me… I didn't know you actually worked really hard for it…
Y/N: Let me guess…You have an Inferiority complex…and that you have a sense of envy when it comes to people learning stuff fast?
Hikawa just looked at me with wide eyes, knowing my assumption was correct.
Sayo: L/N! How can you say something like that!
Hikawa said as she snapped at me. Seeing the way she reacted to that only further proves my assumption.
Sayo: You honestly think Im that
Childish…?-
Y/N: hikawa…
I said softly
Sayo: You don't' even know me that well! And yet you have the audacity to say something like that…! -
Y/N: Hikawa!
I said slightly louder trying to get her to stop.
Sayo: I am your senpai! How dare you look down on me like that! you have no right to disrespect me like that much less look down on me…You know you really need to learn so-
Okay this is starting to annoy me…
Y/N: *sigh*...SAYO!
I yelled out which finally made her stop scolding me and stopped her dead in her tracks.
Sayo:...
Y/N: Jesus Christ Sayo! You finally heard me!
Sayo:...you…called me "Sayo"...
Y/N: Yes! To get your attention! Your inferiority complex got the best of you that you didn't even hear me call your name!
Sayo:...I see…I'm sorry…
She said feeling embarrassed about it. I Took a few deep breaths because even though I was annoyed it's not worth it to snap back at Hikawa.
Y/N: No, don't apologize… I'm not saying this to be mean or anything but apologizing doesn't bring back the dead just be better.
Sayo:...You're right… it was wrong of me…
Y/N: And another thing, You may be my Senpai. But I couldn't give two shits about the Honorific system. Where I was raised, that shit doesn't matter, and I do this with everyone including Shirokane! And don't expect me to call you by your first name again because I wont!
I said in my normal speaking voice making it seem like I'm trying to sound mean.
Sayo:...alright…
Y/N: Now that's out of the way, I think it would be best if we talked about this. Judging by the way you reacted this morning and even right now I can tell that I was right on the money, I have a clue as to where it's coming from but I wanna hear it from you. Where is this thorn in your side coming from?
Hikawa paused to think about her next choices of words. I know that I'm prying too much into it but I can't help it. Even though I don't like Hikawa that much, it still sucks to see her suffer like this.
Sayo: Why are you going this far to try and help me? I thought you didn't like me?
Y/N: You're right…I don't like you…but even though I don't like you, I'm still willing to help you through this.
Sayo: You're not making any sense at all right now L/N. If you really didn't like me, shouldn't you find joy in my suffering?
Y/N: "On the strength of one link in the cable, dependeth on the might of the chain" . And that is why I'm willing to help you.
Sayo: Okay you are seriously not making sense right now…what are you saying?
Y/N: You don't know that phrase?
Sayo: No, what does that mean?
Y/N: Well, back when I was still living in Tsushima, there was this fisherman that I knew. He worked in a pretty big boat with a crew of about roughly 30 to 40 personnel. He knew everyone on that boat. There were people that he liked and also people he hated. Some people more than others.
Sayo: Okay? What are you trying to get at?
Y/N: Hold on, I'm getting there. Anyways, there was one experience he had with another crewmate of his. They both had different ideologies so they would always argue and bump heads a lot and eventually that led to them hating each other. One day they were passing through a storm and their bitterness got the best of them and they lost a good chunk of the front portion of their ship, everything they caught that day went overboard, and a good portion of their crew was injured that day.
Sayo: What happened after that?
Y/N: Well the captain was pretty frickin pissed about it and made them repair all the damages from sunrise to sunset. The captain had told them that same phrase that I just told you and also told them that if they don't realize the meaning behind it then they aren't real sailors and that they should find a new profession.
Sayo: Did he ever learn what that meant?
Y/N: Yes, it was during that time when they were both just working where they eventually talked things out. At first it started off with them working in silence, then it turned to them coordinating with each other to get the job done, soon after they eventually started to talk more. They found out more and more about each other and eventually they both figured out what the captain was saying. What he failed to realize was that he was going through something. Because he failed to recognize the problem, the deeper, more inner problems within his crewmate and that he let his hate for his crewmate get the better of him He ended up dragging everyone down with him.
I stopped and turned to Hikawa and put one hand on her shoulder while the other my other hand was on her cheek and then I looked her dead in her eyes.
L/N: Hikawa. I don't like you and I don't have to either, but I don't hate you enough to see you fail nor would I take as far as to make it personal.
Sayo: But even so why are you saying all this? I'm still not getting what you're getting at.
Y/N: The link in the cable is both you and I, and the might of the chain that we so depend on for strength, Is the student council, your friends, Roselia and the people around you and I. If one of us fails then we all fail, together. That's why in this life we need to learn how to pick up those we work with despite what we're all going through and despite our differences.
Sayo: L/N…
L/N: Hikawa, you're a member of the student council and I hold you as my teammate. We're a team and I care about you, and I want to care about you despite our differences. I can't have you fall on me because if I let you do so, then you're gonna drag everyone else with you, even though you don't want to and no matter if you think that you aren't going to. The sad reality of it is that it's bound to happen if you keep it to yourself and that someone keeps letting you break. Because what's attached to a chain? is an anchor, and if one of us breaks then the ship will lose its anchor.
Sayo started to tear up a bit. I know I'm coming off as a bit aggressive but seeing someone die inside for something so menial kinda makes me want to act. Even though I dislike Hikawa…no…even though I dislike Sayo, it's only because of the fact that I hadn't got the chance to have a heart to heart with her. I know the feeling of dying inside. Had it not been for Minami to save me that day I wouldn't be here with Sayo today.
Sayo calmed down a bit from crying. Soon after we continued walking. I started to feel a bit guilty though, I think I might have pushed it a bit too far but it was something I felt she had to learn. That she isn't alone in this world.
Sayo: Wow… I never knew you could be so honest despite not knowing me well enough.
Y/N: I know, and I also felt like I was in no position to bring personal stuff up with you but I just couldn't help it.
Sayo: Are you sure you really hate me?
She asked me with a bit of smug under her voice.
Y/N: Yes, with passion Sayo.
Sayo: There you go calling me by my first name again, what happened to "expect me not to call you by your first name again" huh?
She said, trying to mimic my voice.
Sayo: Girl you better shut the fuck up before I throw you into the street =-=
Sayo just laughed at my threat. At Least she's feeling a bit better. She wiped away what tears she had left over and began to collect composure.
Sayo: I swear Y/N, you are a really odd person.
Y/N: You make it seem like it's a bad thing. And did you just call me by my first name?
Sayo: That I did. You could say I did it just to get even with you since you called me by my first name.
Y/N: I see…
Sayo: As much as I want to tell you what I'm feeling, I dont think I'm ready to tell you…at least not yet… And besides, I think you have a pretty good grasp on what it's about…
Y/N: Yeah, I can respect that, besides I felt like I sunk my dagger deep enough in your chest…I won't pry into it any deeper than that. It was out of line, I'm sorry.
Sayo: It's fine, I know you were doing it for my sake and I appreciate it, honestly.
She said as a small smile formed on her face.
We took another stop at an intersection but this time I was turning here. I dunno about Hikawa so I stopped to let her know until…
Sayo: Well this is where I turn. What about you?
Y/N: oddly enough i'm going this way
I said as I pointed in the opposite direction.
Y/N: I can walk you home if you want?
Sayo: No need for that, my place isn't too far from here.
Y/N: I see, well i'll see you whenever I guess
Sayo: Likewise, Well goodnight.
Y/N: Nighty
Sayo began to walk ahead but turned around to say something to me one last time.
Sayo: Oh and thank you Y/N…
Y/N: No, you shouldnt be thanking me, It was wrong of me to bring that sort of thing up.
Sayo: It's fine, it was still nice of you to try.
Y/N: Yup…I still hate you by the way that's not gonna change.
Sayo: I really don't believe that but the feeling is mutual I suppose.
Y/N: Good let's keep it that way.
Sayo: Whatever you say.
Say said as she turned around and waved me off.
Y/N: Yeah, Yeah, Fuck off and die Hikawa.
I started walking off in the other direction opposite to Hikawa. Sheesh I felt like today was so fricken long. As much as I'm sad that I don't have any more time with my other friends on Discord but I guess it couldn't be helped. I am glad that I got to know a bit more about the new people around me and that new opportunities came my way. Today was just an emotional rollercoaster and I need to sleep. Hopefully tomorrow brings me a brighter day. I do start work tomorrow after all.
Sayo POV
While walking home I couldn't stop thinking about him.
Y/N L/N…these past few days all he has been is just a thorn on my side. But today was where he pushed it. But even so, he's not a bad person as I made him out to be. Even though he claims to hate me I really can't help but doubt that fact.
I'd say he went pretty far to try to help me out…he's a really kind person. Even though he's a year younger he acts like he's beyond my age. He can be both immature but also mature when he wants to be…And what's weird is his ability to read people…what I find pretty scary is that he acts like he knows me…even though we've only known each other for a few days and yet, he can read me like a book. I swear he's such a mystery…Just who are you Y/N? Who or what made you to be like this?
Sayo: The strength of one link in the cable huh…?
To be continued.
