Chapter One

It was a cold Saturday morning. The ground was wet from the rain that fell the previous day and the sky looked cloudy. It looked like it would rain again and Dennis was happy with the weather, especially since he was at home with his wife.

"Dennis, move your big head from there" Patricia yelled at her silly husband who was standing before the television, blocking her view of the interesting Zee world movie she was watching

"Roshni, come and move me" Dennis replied and opened his arm further aggravating Patricia, she stood up from the couch she was previously sitting on and stomped on him.

Without saying a word she held his arm and attempted to drag him but he was unmoving. She looked up at his smirking face and an idea came to her mind.

She grabbed his neatly packed dread. "Now will you move or not?" She asked Dennis who screamed like a little girl when she first grabbed his hair.

"I rather not" he shrugged

"What are you even learning from this thing you are watching?" A dramatic gasp escaped her lips as she stared at him in disbelief, with her hand still in his hair.

"Romance, the one thing you are not good at" she replied and dragged him by his hair to the couch.

"Are you trying to say I'm not romantic?" Dennis asked with a pout

"I'm not trying to say you are not romantic, I'm saying you don't know the first thing about being romantic" she deadpanned and focused on the show without sparing an openmouthed Dennis a glance.

The couple on TV were on the bed, with the husband gently caressing the wife.

"See this woman ooo. You are watching this couple smelling each other and telling Me, the guy filled to the brim with romance that I'm not romantic" He stretched and dragged Patricia's petite figure to himself. He lay down on the couch with Patricia on his chest.

Her heart rate increased as she looked into his eyes.

"You want romantic, right? You will get romantic," he said with a smirk and slowly leaned forward to kiss her.

She laughed at his antics and pecked his lips. He leaned up for more but she placed her palm on his lips.

"I need to watch this part" She relaxed on his chest and turned her full attention to the television.

"Na waw ooo...so you prefer that to me and yet you threw a tantrum when I was working?!" He asked in disbelief. Patricia felt the rumble of his chest as he spoke and giggled at the feeling and his words.

"Yes. And you know you are not supposed to work on the weekends, that's family time. Now shush! The fun part is coming up" Patricia's phone rang and Dennis stretched his hand to the center table to pick it up for Patricia but she swiftly pushed his hand away and picked it up.

Dennis gave her a confused look as she stood up and walked to the kitchen.

"Why couldn't she speak before me?" Dennis wondered.

He followed her to the kitchen. His breath held as he waited to hear what she would say "I know...but I need more time" Patricia replied then paused.

After a few minutes, she added In a whisper-yell "No please don't!" She had a panicked look and her hands visibly shook. Sweats started trickling down her forehead.

"That will be better," she replied, though a shadow of sadness flickered across her face as she hung up the phone.

Sighing deeply, Patricia looked up and nearly jumped when she found herself staring into Dennis's puzzled gaze.

"What was that about?" he asked, his brow furrowed in concern.

"Just something that's not worth your worry," she said with a playful peck on his cheek before she turned to leave the kitchen.

"I still want to know," Dennis insisted, his deep voice laced with a hint of determination.

"It was Amaka," Patricia explained, a hint of reluctance in her tone. "She wanted me to go shopping with her, but honestly, I'm a little low on cash, so I suggested we reschedule."

"You could have asked me for help," he countered, eyes sparkling with mischief.

"I know, but I was hoping for a cozy day at home," she admitted, a smile breaking through her earlier gloom.

Dennis's face lit up with a grin. "Okay then, let's make it a memorable day..." With that, he swept her into his arms, lifting her effortlessly as he cradled her in a bridal hold.

"What are you doing?" Patricia erupted with laughter, joy bubbling up as she clung to him.

"Being romantic" Dennis replied with a dazzling smile as Patricia laughed harder
