It was a new year. A new start. Santana decided that she would have a gap year to figure everything out since she turned down that college opportunity that Brittany and Sue got for her and not only that, she also lost Brittany during that gap year. She decided to just stay in Lima. She did not expect herself to apply to be a teacher at her old high school, though.

Once she got the job as the Spanish teacher, she finally had enough money to move out her parents house and rent an apartment. As she laid in bed, her alarm went off. After a few seconds, she switched to the other side, lifting her arm and hitting the snooze button. She wasn't ready to get up. Even though it was so hot under the covers and it's the middle of September.

Five minutes went by and her alarm was again, blaring. She groaned sitting up and turning off her alarm. She removed from under the covers and swung her legs over the edge. Santana stepped her feet on the cold, hardwood floor. She began to walk to the bathroom rubbing her eyes. She opened the door and immediately went to the toilet.

Finn decided to give her a ride since he was passing by this morning anyway. They had talked about it the other day, but Santana didn't know the reason for his early visit yet.

About an hour & a half had past. Coffee was already brewed, her things were waiting by the door as she quickly finished in the bathroom. She had gotten a text not too long ago that Finn was waiting for her outside. Once she was done, she walked out the bathroom and swiped her keys off the dresser. She left her room, grabbing her coffee on the way to the door and her purse. Surprisingly September was in the 70's, so she didn't need a jacket.

She opened the door and locked it behind her, making her way to finn's car. She reached the bottom of the staircase and got in on the passenger side.

She closed the door and buckled up, "So you gonna tell me what's up? Or do I have to pry it out of you?" She wanted to get straight to the point.

Finn left the motor running, so he immediately started to drive to school. "I'm thinking of leaving..." He paused for second as they approached a red light, "I miss rachel. You know when she broke up with me, I thought I could move on and do something here. I just don't feel complete." He sighed and continued to drive once the light was green again.

Santana glanced at him and then down at her lap, "I get it. I miss Brittany everyday, but you made a choice to come back. I made a choice to come back. We can't let our past distract us from what we want to do with our lives." She said, as they approached the school parking lot.

Finn parked the car and and turned the engine off. He took the keys out the ignition and looked over at her, "What do you wanna do with yours?"

Just as she was about to respond, Sam came knocking on the window. Santana rolled down the window.

"Figgins got fired. We have a newbie now." He said. Finn and santana just looked at each other. Sam was still at the window, "See you in there." He said before walking off into the school.

Santana and Finn both unbuckled and got out the car. Finn locked it as he began to walk to the school with Santana. Within only minutes, they were finally in. All the staff had about an hour before school started, but in a recent email all staff had to make their way to the auditorium.

Not stopping by her classroom, Santana walked straight to the auditorium. She sat with Sam, Finn, & Artie. She smiled at them while she sat down. She saw sitting a few seats in front of her, mr. shue, sue, & emma. The superintendent walked onto the stage. He stood in front of the microphone, clutching it with one of his hands.

"Hello staff, you might be aware that principal Figgins has been fired and we so quickly have found his replacement. Everyone please meet the new principal, Ms. Williams." The superintendent spoke. The new principal walked onto the stage and smiled, while waving.

Sue sitting next to shue, leaned over and whispered, "I already don't like her." Shue just gave her a quick glance before turning around giving his ex students a 'bare with it' face expression, before facing forward again.
