The next morning Louis and his dad have breakfast together at their tiny little kitchen table. Their apartment is at the dodgy end of London and consists of one bedroom. Louis has the foldout couch as a bed, it works for them though, so he doesn't mind at all.

Louis swirls his cereal around the bowl while his dad eats a piece of toast reading the paper.

"What about this one, two bedrooms, both with an ensuite, full kitchen, even has two floors" James says smiling

Louis chuckles

"Sure dad, whatever you like, I'm easy" Louis says

He's excited that his dad wants to move, but Louis doesn't like change so much. He's used to sleeping in the lounge room, listening to his dad snore from the other room, It comforts him. Even though their neighbourhood is shit and has a high crime rate, Louis is reluctant to move. He won't tell his dad that though.

James just smiles at Louis,

"Two weeks kid, two weeks and we can get out of this dump" James says.

Louis just nods.

"What are your plans for today?" James asks as he puts the paper down

"Mmm, maybe go to the skate park, I have work tonight at Snitch" Louis says

"Oh right, I nearly forgot, I'll be there at midnight to pick you up" James says.

"Thanks" Louis smiles.

"Are you okay? You seem a little quiet after last night" James says concerned.

"I'm fine, just tired" Louis says.

"As soon as we move, you can quit those two jobs Lou, be a kid again, I'm sorry I haven't been able to give you a proper childhood and you've had to work to help keep us afloat" James says seriously.

Louis looks at his dad, he's the most kindest, selfless person and Louis is so thankful for him.

"Dad, I don't care about any of that, honestly, we're a team and we do what needs to be done" Louis says smiling slightly

"I really don't know what I did to deserve you Lou, really" James says as he gets up, ruffles Louis hair and puts his plate in the sink.

His dads phone then rings and he goes to answer, Louis takes his breakfast to the sink and washes the bowl, putting it away.

"I've got to head into work bud" James says as he hangs up the phone

"Okay, sure" Louis says

"I'll be at Snitch at midnight okay" James says and Louis nods as James grabs his keys and wallet and goes to kiss Louis on the head.

"Have a good day" Louis says

"You too, love you kid" James says and Louis returns the sentiment

When James leaves Louis heads to get dressed, he dresses in his black skinny jeans and white and blue baseball shirt with his black and white vans that are nearly falling apart, he loves them though. He grabs his backpack, throws his work clothes in and grabs his skateboard and phone.

Louis then heads out of the apartment and makes his way down to the street, his friend Noah will be at the skate park like usual and they normally meet on a Saturday to skate.

When Louis makes it to the front of the building, he notices a car that sticks out like a sore thumb, it's a black expensive Bentley. Far to nice for around the neighbourhood Louis lives in. He doesn't think much of it, until it starts following him. Louis doesn't really get a bad feeling about it but it's odd. Louis keeps his senses up but soon forgets about the car and arrives at the skate park. He and Noah greet each other and the car sits in the parking lot across the street.

"Lou! Where have you been?" Noah asks as they hug

"Sorry, I slept in, late night last night, dad had a work thing" Louis says

"Sounds fun" Noah says sarcastically and Louis smirks.

Noah is your typical bad boy, brown hair, beanie, piercings and tattoos, he smokes weed and cigarettes and drinks too but he never pressures Louis to do any of it, Louis isn't in to any of that stuff and steers clear of any form of drug. Louis doesn't mind that Noah does it, unless it puts them in danger. Like the one time Louis had to pay Noah's $500 debt to his dealer before he got the shit kicked out of him. Louis had saved that money for a year, but of course he would help Noah out.

The boys skate for a few hours, Louis like usual drawing a crowd with his skills, including the two in the black Bentley.  Louis recognises Scott as one of them instantly and another guy that was at the dinner the night before, he finds it really strange.

When five o'clock comes around Louis hugs Noah goodbye, gets hair ruffles from the older boys who skate the bowl and heads off in the direction of Snitch, he starts work at 6 and it's a good hour walk/ skate
Louis is crossing the road when he locks eyes with Scott who's leaning between the open door and the car, smirking.

"You're pretty awesome on a board, you failed to mention that part last night" Scott smiles

Louis smiles shyly

"I'm not that good, just playing around" Louis says

"Modest too huh" the other guy then says from the other side of the car.

Louis blushes

"Louis this is Edward" Scott smiles

"Hi" Louis smiles

"Hey kid, so, where are you off to?" Edward asks

"Just work" Louis shrugs.

"Need a lift?" Scott asks kindly

Louis hesitates, he doesn't know either of these men, they appear nice but they could kidnap and murder him.

Scott and Edward both laugh, Louis thinks how beautiful they both are as they do, so graceful yet dangerous it makes no sense.

"We won't bite kid" Edward says

"But, you've been following me all morning, and now you want me to get in the car with you?" Louis asks bravely.

Scott smirks

"Sounds about right to me" he says jovially

Louis twists his mouth unsure

"Call your dad if you want to make sure" Edward says. No teasing or mocking in his tone, he's genuinely being kind.

Louis pulls out his old phone and sees the confused look the boys give him at the obvious lack of quality, it's held together by tape.

Louis dad answers the phone on the second ring

"Lou? Is everything okay?" James asks

"I'm yeah, I um, just ran into Scott and Edward and they want to give me a lift to work" Louis says a little uncomfortably.

"Oh that's nice of them" James says

"So it's okay with you?" Louis makes sure.

"Absolutely, you're perfectly safe with them both" James reassures

"Okay thanks dad" Louis says

James tells Louis he loves him and will see him tonight and they hang up. Louis looking at Scott and Edward

"All good then?" Edward smiles triumphantly

"I guess" Louis half smiles and hops on the back of the car as Scott opens the door for him

"What club do you work at?" Scott asks as he pulls out of the parking lot

"Snitch" Louis says

Edward and Scott look at each other, Harry won't like that at all. It's one of the rougher underground clubs and hardly somewhere a 16 year old should be working

"How'd you get a job there?" Edward asks

He usually vets all employees for all underground clubs. He doesn't remember seeing Louis application or authorising it

"Well, ummm I kind of...." Louis trails off

"Kind of??" Scott prompts

"Well, I lied on my application, said I was 19 and had experience making drinks. Which I definitely um....don't....have, but Nick my boss has taught me a lot so he's cool " Louis says embarrassed

Edward and Scott laugh, this kid. He's funny and gorgeous, so fucking gorgeous and his shyness is endearing. They both think he and Harry would click completely, as much as they are polar opposites, they would really work.

"Anyone who's brave enough to lie on a job application and deal with Snitch's clientele all night deserves a pay rise" Edward says

Louis smiles

"Does your dad mind you working there?" Scott asks

"He was mad when I told him I lied but we need the money, he's always there when I finish and nothing bad has ever happened so it's been okay. He said he wants me to quit when his first pay check from the bank comes through. But I don't mind working, I feel like I need to contribute in some way" Louis says

Edward and Scott both know Harry will make Louis quit when he gets wind of this, Louis shouldn't be working at all, let alone such a dangerous job.

"Well no offence kid but you don't look 19, you just pass for 16" Edward chuckles

Louis chuckles back

"Yeah, I think Nick knows I lied, apart from the fact I make the worst martini on the planet, but he says I draw customers for some god knows reason, so I think he overlooks it" Louis says 

The boys of course know Nick, he's part of the underground and they launder money through Snitch. Edward will have a chat with him just to make sure Louis is being kept safe.

The boys drop Louis off at work and walk him inside, Louis looks at them confused

"Thought we might have a drink before we get back to work" Scott says cheekily at Louis raised eyebrows

"Am I in trouble or something? Like, you've been following me all day, have I done something wrong?" Louis asks, he begins to panic a little, apart from the fact they both look like drug dealers, Louis is so confused. Maybe they know about Noah and the drug dealers, maybe they want more money.

The boys look at Louis confused

"Is this about Noah?, I paid his dealer debt off if that's what this is actually about, he told me he doesn't owe anything else" Louis says a little panicked at the realisation

Edward and Scott shake their heads nearly laughing

"No kid, you haven't done anything wrong, you're not in trouble. We are just having a drink okay, promise" Edward says

Louis doesn't belive them entirely but relaxes a little and nods

"Okay" he says and he turns around to head to the bar for the start of his shift.
