Chapter 6

The next week, we showed the class our video. It started off as the petals falling from the sky, and it was a bit blurred, and it then skipped to us going into the corridors. It showed the marks and symbols, and the class gasped at the interior of the tree.

The video then showed the bridge and me showing off all of the flowers and animals that were there. It went on and on and on with different clips of the forest until we came to the top. There, I recorded the overview of the forest and Kylie overlooking the view.

When the video ended, everyone in the class clapped.

"Well done, Keith and Kylie," Mr. Kon said, "I'm pretty sure we already have a winner. Let's see the others' videos first, before we give you a score."

We both nodded and headed for our seats. I then felt a tap on my shoulder, so I looked and Andrew was there.

"How did you get all that cool stuff?" he asked, "That was dope!"

"Kylie's dad and grandpa made that a few years back," I said. "We thought it would be cool to record that stuff."

"Where is it, though?"

"Not saying, Andrew," Kylie growled.

His eyes widened just as he and his partner were called up. Gotta admit though, our video was definitely better than everyone else's. Mr. Kon, and Ms. Keesha called us to the front of the room and applauded us. Not only that, but Ms. Keesha gave us medals. Now that was awesome!

During 5th hour, our class was then called into the music room. Turns out that band, choir, and orchestra need an audience before going to the elementary school to play. We got up and walked to the music room. I could hear the instruments and voices getting louder and louder as we came closer to the room. When we entered, I saw that orchestra was on one side, Band on the other, and Choir was in front of the class.

Everyone then got quiet and stopped what they were doing. The music teacher looked behind her and gave us a sweet smile. She walked over to our teacher and talked about some things about the concert. I looked around the room, and what stood out in the orchestra section was the black violin. I looked to see who was holding it, and I saw it was, you guessed it, Kylie.

She was leaning on her chair when she made eye contact with me. Her eyes widened, and she let out a sigh, while rolling her eyes. I swear, what was with us being in everything!

"Alright, class," the music teacher said. "Raise up."

Everyone raised their instruments, while the choir students stood up straighter. She then put her hands down, and the orchestra started playing this nice music. I realized that Kylie wasn't playing. After a few minutes of choir, orchestra, and band coming in, Kylie started playing a solo.

It sounded like some sort of lullaby. It was soft, gentle, and it nearly made me fall asleep. It was beautiful. I swear, it felt like it went on forever, until she stopped playing. The music teacher smiled, and my class clapped.

I swear, Kylie was pretty cool, at some things.
