Once upon a time a time, two neighboring kingdoms sat on either side of a mountain. These two kingdoms used to be mighty allies, but were vastly different. One kingdom was comprised of almost entirely humans, while the other was inhabited by mostly monsters. These two kingdoms lived in peace for many years. One day, war broke out between the kingdoms. During this war, the humans unlocked something that made the monsters as powerful as they were. This was the power of the soul, or lack of one in some cases. Because of this new power, humans too could start to learn magic. The human kingdom quickly took advantage of their new abilities and won the war. The humans didn't want another war to break out, so they cast a magical spell to seal all of the inhabitants of the monster kingdom in. Things could enter this barrier, but would meet a gruesome death if they tried to leave. Since then, 300 years have passed peacefully. Recently, the peace has been disturbed. Six inhabitants of the human kingdom, now called the Silver Soul kingdom, have gone missing near the border of the monster kingdom, called Rune. The king of The Silver Soul kingdom is now assembling a party led by his son, Chara, and his daughter, Frisk. There are only four members of the party currently and there will be many more in this tale of humans and monsters.
