Chapter 5

<RECAP>

Unknown's P.O.V

RING! RING! RING!

"Hello? This is the Central Police Station", the officer said into the phone.

"HELP! HELP! PLEASE-", and the line went dead from the other side.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Captain North's P.O.V

"David, I need you to track down the number that just came in. Nora- look in to the owner of the SIM and see whether you find anything useful about her. Get to work, everyone. This time we aren't letting anyone get hurt. Is that clear!", I shouted orders at my teammates in a matter of fact tone.

"Yes Sir!", everyone chorused back.

"And Detective, you know what you've got to do", I turned towards him and stated with a jerk of my head.

He nodded and grabbed his coat.

_____FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER_____

"Captain, the SIM in fact belongs to Dr. Henry John. He is a surgeon who works at the Meraki General Hospital. There aren't any police records found on him. But, he does has some popular surgical failures mentioned in his medical report", Nora said as she followed me to the cyber cabin.

"But wasn't that a woman who called from his number? Is he married by any chance?", I asked as she finished her details.

"Yes he is. But, his wife is a school teacher", was her excited reply.

I stopped walking and looked at her with my arms crossed over my chest.

"Do you have anything on your mind Miss. Jackson?", I asked with my lips pursed and eyebrows raised questioningly.

"Yes. I was just thinking on what if this case isn't related to the others? What if this is related to some sort of revenge?", the red haired woman stated.

"I think I know what you mean Miss. Jackson. I'll let the Detective know about your hunch", I stated and nodded at her.

I then entered the cabin to hear David's hurried voice.

"Captain, the tracking is complete"

"Good, we've got a head start then. Where is it?", I asked him as my heart beat rose rapidly.

"At No 23 A, Beskville street-", and he paused.

"which is at their house", he looked up, his face masked with confusion.

"And the task force is ready to leave!"

I turned around to see Detective Booney standing at the doorway with the head of the task force at his side.

"Then let's go!"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Detective Booney's P.O.V

"This is the Police! Whoever that is inside put your hands up in surrender!", the captain's voice echoed through the loudspeaker loudly.

The whole house was enveloped in darkness. Curtains were drawn and the windows were shut tightly. The house was fully silent. No movements could be detected from here.

The captain nodded at me and I gave the others the thumbs up to go inside. I loaded my gun and followed them too.

The door was ajar. I pushed it open and it creaked a bit. I paused to see if I could hear any movement, but the route was clear to my dismay. I gave the signal for the others to follow and entered the living room.

Chairs were thrown carelessly here and there. Glass pieces from the broken coffee table were scattered all over the floor. Literally the place was a mess!

I then entered the dark hallway to see several of my men already investigating. The hallway ended with a flight of stairs leading to the second floor. There was just one door visible along the corridor. I motioned every one to take their position and slowly opened the door. It led to a small bathroom and there was no sign of any one here.

Next, we proceeded to climb the stairs. The wooden stairs creaked a bit as our hard sole shoes stepped on them.

There were four doors leading to separate rooms in this floor. I motioned everyone to separate into groups. My group and I tiptoed towards the door to the right. I banged it open with my gun raised ready to shoot, but to no avail, my sight was greeted with a silent and neat bedroom. It must be one of their guest rooms I guess.

"Detective!", I heard someone shout from across the hall.

The shout seemed to come from the room, furthest away from here. I hurried towards the sound. When I reached the room the doorway was blocked by the members of the task force. I pushed past them and went to the front only to find my eyes widen in shock.

There lying on the wooden floor was non other than Dr. Henry John himself. His lifeless eyes were wide open as if the bullet caught him by surprise. There was blood splattered on the floor around him. I looked around to find any clue on what had happened when something caught my eye.

There was blood on the wall. And that big blood splotch didn't look like the normal blood splash stains that you would find when some one was shot. Instead it looks like when some one had been thrown across the room and that spot had just been the victim's point of contact.

"Detective, Mrs. Henry is missing", Captain stated in a serious tone dragging me out of my thoughts.

"I expected that", I told him with a shrug.

"What do you mean?", the Captain asked in a confused tone.

"You see that blood on the wall?", I asked him as I jerked my head towards the area.

"I believe that that blood belongs to his wife", I continued in a matter-of-fact tone.

"So are you saying that the couple had a fight and she shot him?", the Captain asked with his arms crossed over his chest.

"Nah. Unless the wife is a professional shooter, I don't think that it is she who shot him. The shot is pretty neat for an amateur", I told him with a grim expression.

"Nora says that this case might not be related to the others. She says it might be a revenge for the Surgeon's failures", the Captain informed in a suggestive tone.

"Nah, I don't think. Like I said, the shot is pretty neat for an amateur or for a person who is taking his revenge. And he is shot right at the same spot as in the previous cases. Not even a millimetre away from the spot", I told the captain with a straight face.

"So whoever that is involved in this, is the same person?", he asked me as he ran his fingers through his hair worriedly.

"Or a group of people trained the same way", I gritted out with my jaw clenched.

Our attention turned towards Lucas as he came running towards us.

"Captain!", he paused to catch his breathe amidst all that heavy panting.

.

"We've got an eye witness!", he finally spilled out.
